As Above, So Below is a fictional story of a climbing accident that takes place in Argentine Patagonia. Fast-paced and suspenseful, this story—which has been compared to James Salter’s Solo Faces—is as beautiful as it is spell-binding.
With beautiful illustrations by Craig Muderlak, and a classic cover and aesthetic feel to it, this book is a popular collector's item for climbers everywhere. All copies from the first printing are numbered, and signed by the author.
This book is really well written and the drawings are stunning. Once I started the book I couldn’t put it down, the use of descriptive words made it I felt like I was out there climbing with them on the mountain. A very emotional book and a situation that every climbers have nightmares about
I enjoyed every page of the book and look forward to more books by Chris Kalman

Short, sweet and heart wrenching. This perfect little book will stay with you long after you've finished the last page. Relevant to climbers and non-climbers alike.
Once I picked it up, I could not stop reading. This story reached into my heart. Despite logic, I could not stop hoping for a happy reunion in the end. The weight of guilt can sometimes be the heaviest emotion to carry and the hardest to let go. It is definitely worth the time to read.
No heartstrings tugged or, at least from my experience, preconceived notions challenged, just an honest story wrapped in concise writing and truly resonant circumstances.
An emotional ride! I read it in one sitting, as I'm sure most people do. Kalman has created a terrifying piece of writing and I believe, regardless if the reader is a climber, the experience is an emotional odyssey. I feel like there is just the right amount of foreboding; not too much! I had to read the scene where the boy finally gets the rope unstuck two times.
Chris, you have a wonderful gift. Thanks for sharing it!
I look forward to the next book! NP

This was a Dramione fic. Again an amazing one, but a bit dark. OK, a lot dark. But, absolutely amazingly written. I was on the edge of my seat. I always love Dark Hermione, it just feels so ecstatic. The revenge fueling her is always on point. And, of course, Dark Dramione. Consider me sold!!
reflective and cutting, this short story digs deep into themes like self-justification and regret, applicable to climbers + non-climbers alike. beautiful and tragic
