It all started one day in March of 2018. I was bored. There was nothing to watch on television. And the moment of silence prompted a memory. A flashback to a time I wrote movies in a notebook. Small scenes jotted down for no particular reason. Something compelled me to make a move. I jumped up and ran to my computer, anxious to tell a story of which I could see clearly. The scenes of my cleverly crafted idea so wildly vivid. A face. A name. And twisted plots that would rival any movie.
I began typing. The keystrokes were fervent. Soon one sentence gave way to twenty. One hundred words grew to seventeen thousand. And before I knew it, I had a short story. Proof that anything is possible. So, you might ask if I always wanted to be a writer? Was it somewhere in the back of my mind? No! It wasn’t. But I knew I was creative. And I knew I could tell a story. The rest is history. Now I can say I wrote a book that became a best seller. Downloaded for many book lovers to read and enjoy. And the journey is still fresh. There is so much more to write. I am just getting started!
Blurb:` Pebbles, Paula and Penny Allen were the hot "Allen Sisters", well known in their old neighborhood where they grew up and their schools, for their striking beauty and killer bodies. Penny was the beautiful and promiscuous one, a serial non- committer, who changed men the way she changed her clothes. Paula was the stable one who excelled in school, determined to escape their humble roots. She was ashamed of their upbringing and was determined to escape their poverty-stricken life but she harbored a deep secret. Pebbles was known as the "prettiest" Allen girl. She was more laid back and private than her sisters and valued family and friends above all else. Drama between the sisters plagued them most of their childhood and young adult life.
Fast forward ten years later when the girls are now women who each have a story to tell. Penny continues down a path of self-absorbance and is too busy partying to get her life in order. Pebbles has her career on the right path but is desiring a more fulfilling love life. And Paula’s life seems to be filled with the most life has to offer, money, a sexy handsome husband and a son she adores. But when circumstances cause Paula to reach out to her estranged sister Pebbles a shocking secret is revealed that sends Pebbles scrambling and struggling to make sense of it all. Will the love of a man tear these sisters apart?
This is an urban romance fiction about secrets, lies, deceit, sex and selfish agenda's that could tear a family apart...
This book was so GOOD!!! It was truly a good book, started a little slow but when it got good it was good!! That Paula was something else. How could she do that to Alexis (Pebbles) Paula was a narcissist. How could you agree to leave your own child. If she felt in her heart of heart she should have never got involved with Rome. He was truly a good man. I’m happy for him and Alexis, and Penny. Penny was her sisters keeper and had Alexis best interest no matter what. I couldn’t imagine doing something like that to my sister or a friend.
Alexis is the younger , next is Penny and then Paula. Paula is married out of state and has abandoned her family and it’s just her, hubby Rome and her son Romy. When Paula finally faces her secret or when Rome forces her to the divorce proceedings began. It Paula has one more trick up her sleeve and Pebbles (Alexis) is part of it! Penny is wild, promiscuous and does not care at the moment. She’s living her best life until she meets Camron! He’s a totally different breed and Penny will not miss the opportunity to meet and greet him; however, she should’ve cleaned her closet out first. Penny and Alexis are super close and Penny recognizes Paula has something up her sleeve. When Alexis is asked to come and spend time with her nephew since Paula will be in London for 2 months she will never forget the fine specimen in front of her at the airport. Rome is shocked to see how extremely beautiful Alexis is. Through their forced friendship Rome will learn that Paula’s family is not as bad as she has presented to him. He’s a gentleman, waits on Alexis, considers her in the family outings and they find themselves engrossed in each other. Paula weaved a tale as she whisked off to her lover Amy but happens when she selfishly return ? Bravo! Loved this story!!
Her Sister's Husband aka He Came to Me has a good storyline. Pebbles (Alexis) is the baby of the family and even though her oldest sister, Paula, has written the family off, is quick to come to her sister's aid. Penny is the middle sister and wants nothing to do with Paula, but would do anything for Alexis. This author weaves a complicated tale of three sisters and their journey to find love. Unfortunately, the bad grammar gets in the way of giving it stars. This book was chosen by my Book Club and that was the main complaint. Poor editing.
This my first book by this author and I truly enjoyed it! I have to say at first I thought the sisters were triplets but as I read on I found out that they were not. Paula was a trip she was selfish and self centered. Alexis was the grounded one that always helped the other two. Penny was a wild child that needed a grounding line. Glad she found it. The twists and turns of this jounery that the author takes you on is just great. I really enjoyed it. I truly recommend this book. You will truly enjoy it.
This book needs work. The editing, grammatical errors, and story development needs work. I brought the book because it had a great synopsis. I was disappointed once reading. It felt rushed and not genuine when it came to Rome and Alexis romantic relationship. I gave the book 3 stars because there is potential. It could have been a 5 star book because the plot and story line is great. It just wasn’t executed as well. Keep writing. I know future books will be better.
I had passed over this several times, was a little bored and decided to give it a try. It was entirely different from what I thought. This is the story of three sisters. Paula was a trip she got what she deserved, Penny lived life on her own terms but finally she found true love. Pebbles/Alexis was so sweet she was looking for that fairytale kind of love. Which one of the sisters found her HEA with her brother in law. This is worth a read.
Loved the storyline but the writing was lacking emotion and development. There were lots of errors. The book moved slowly along; it took me much longer than normal to read this short book. I wanted to know how it ended but it dragged so much I had an issue staying on task. This is my first read by this author and I'm not motivated to look into her other works.
Never read anything by this author but I will be trying some other books by Smokey. Yes I will recommend this one cause it's a excellent read. The characters were great and the story line was very good to me. Can't wait to read another page turner by Smokey. I love a story with a great ending. I didn't want to put this one down.
Dont waste your time, book was all over the place and unnecessary read. It started out strong and really wanted to stay open minded and give it a chance but it quickly went downhill. From the weird club scene, to the quick sex to keep his mind clear while rushing to the airport and finally the disappointing end.
This book was so good!!! I could not put it down. How could Paula think she was right on what she did?? I hope Rome and Alexandria make it this time.True Love is hard to find. But when you do find it hold on with all your might.
I don’t want to be rude nor mean, but Chile this book was too slow. Honestly I feel as though I wasted a dollar on this mess. I didn’t even finish all of the story just skipped through it and left my review. The entire story was boring.
Overall this was a good read, it’s a 4 star read to me due to me not being captured in the beginning but the middle of the story. The characters were all well developed and the story had little to none grammatical errors
A story of how a lady gave up her husband and her child to her sister....only to realized she made a mistake. So she comes back, and tried to re- acclaim what is hers, but it was too late! I'm glad the story ended the way it should had.
I enjoyed the story but the end was predictable. I would have loved to have a chapter on Paula to see what her issues were and the family deal with them. Is Paula living her truth
I loved the plot and storyline. I only gave 4 stars because I had to read and re-read certain parts since there were so many misspelled words. Has me wondering how I can become a book editor. I love to read maybe that's the job for me 🤔
My first time reading this author. I'm so very happy I did. This book was wonderful I enjoyed it very much I didn't want it to. I'm glad Rome and Alexis survived.
Ummm just meh. The so called luv story was a little weak. Seems no one had any scruples. How you just gonna set up someone to love and move in with ur husband and take care of YOUR child. 🤦🏽♀️ I guess I just didn't get this one. 🤷🏾♀️
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Light mindless predictable read. You know what will happen by page 5. Poor character development and gaping holes in the plot. An editor would have been useful as well.
Be careful what you ask for because in the end it may not be what you wanted. Paula was all about Paula. Loved the character Penny. She called it straight. Would love to see her own story.
I am really impressed with this book! It is a page turner and I wanted more. This was written with love and mystery. I will look for more books written by Smokey Moment!
Just never read my thoughts on paper like this. What an emotionally charged experience. I couldn’t take up with my sisters husband but you wrote him so well and the storyline made the impossible possible in the eyes of the moral.
This was a nice love story with plenty of selfish drama! The message I got from this story was to not run and actually take time to talk so precious time won't be lost!
This book is great!! Different twist. It nonetheless a great read!! Nothing like true love defined!! I am hoping someone else reads and finds it just as great!!
This was a decent story. It seemed like the relationship spawned out of nothing other than looks and proximity between the supposed love birds to me, but I enjoyed the book overall.
I enjoyed the story, but did struggle a few times. This was my first time reading something by this author. I’ll most likely find another book and to see if it was just this book.
This book had me from front too back,I'm glad she got her man back❤️❤️ that sister of her's was on some hating stuff, I give this book 10,you must read it!!
