What kind of secrets do you bury deep, vowing never to reveal to a soul?
No one realized Nadi's troublesome behavior had a cause behind it. A secret, deep and dark that she hid from the outside world. She would have never guessed that one bad decision would challenge that vow, changing her life forever; he would change her life forever.
“I’ve spent years building walls, trying to deal with what I’ve been dealt in life. I’ve had to learn to be strong.” – Nadi
Nadi gets herself into trouble and is sent to a 'last chance' bootcamp, half way across the country. She is determined to keep everyone at arms length, but when she gets there, it proves to be more difficult than she ever expected, and her past will come back to haunt her.
Aerick is good at his job. Others don't like him much, but he doesn't care. In fact, he prefers it that way. His job allows him to control others, work off his frustrations, and doesn't require him to be social. The cadets come in, he whips them into shape, they leave, and it starts all over. Life is good, that is until she shows up, and turns his world upside down. She is hiding something and it becomes his mission to unveil her past.
Danielle Leneah is a person with limitless aspirations. Whether she is working full time to help support her family, designing web sites for fun, or writing books to calm her mind, she always puts her heart and soul into her work.
Her reading and writing ambitions started at a young age. By sixth grade, she was reading full Stephen King novels and writing short stories. Her first publication came when she was in high school. Her work was accepted to be published in a well known poetry book. Even though her dreams of writing were temporarily halted as she began to build a family, it eventually drew her back.
As she began writing, she remembered the peace and joy it use to bring her. In an astonishing 50 days, she had the rough draft of the first two books in a her new series completed.
In her mind, if she can make just one person happy with her stories, it would have been worth it.
Danielle was born and raised in the suburbs of Seattle, Washington where she still lives with her husband and children.
I liked the H being so strict and how the h was strong and didnt backed down. She is in the camp because she assaulted someone, also she has problems with being touched. He is handsome and feels attracted to her but he knows he cant love anyone. its a great story
This was my first read from this author that I was just introduced to last week. I have to say I really liked this one. Well it starts out in Chicago and then ends up in my home state of Washington so I knew I would like it. Also this was a refreshing change to the more recent books I have read.
This one was a slow burn but I was hooked from the begining and read in all my spare time to know what happens. Nadi and Aerick are so alike I can see why they clashed at first but the sexual tension was through the roof for these 2.
I am excited to read more of this series and have #2 awaiting me!!!!
Wow! Ok so I'm not gonna lie. The beginning of this book is slow. There was a lot of time spent on describing things in great detail that maybe didn't need so much. But once I got to about 35% of the book I couldn't put it down! The story line is great! The subject matter is quite intriguing! But then it ends in a cliffhanger! So I'm quite excited to see what happens next. Madi is such a strong lady! And Aerick is quite the complicated a**hole. He really is back and forth on his feelings. But honestly... Can 2 broken people fall in love??? I can't wait to find out!!!
This is a new to me author, so I wasn’t really sure what to expect but I was interested when I read the blurb. It’s book 1 in the series and so it does end with a cliffhanger. It’s a slow burn so the first 1/3 of the book is a bit sluggish, but stick with it as it does pick up pace and gets very interesting.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Excellent. I read this during the blackout after that crazy Iowa Derecho thing. I was home alone in the thick as wool darkness. My kindle had charge while my phone and lanterns did not. I couldn't sleep and so I just picked a book at random to turn my brain off. I needed a distraction from inhuman shadows and insidious noises. Yeah, it was that bad.
So a random swipe of my kindle library and my own vivid imagination led to this book. Im so glad it did. This book was good! I relate to the main character so well. Nadi is my gurl, I've decided we are friends. We've been thru a lot together. Traumatizing childhoods and an Iowa Derecho. Duh.
Who put catnip in my tea? I'm feelin silly.
Okay, so Unveiled follows a group of troubled teens from around Chicago to a last chance kinda bootcamp in Washington State. Nadi is the main character and while her trauma is oretty easy to spot, it was interesting to see it play out. Also interesting to see her relationships change and develop. Lots of emotion. Lot of growth. Realistic character development. Relatable conflicts.
I enjoyed this book and even if I weren't alone in a haunted house being suffocated by the night, I would have enjoyed it. Read it in one sitting and immediately began part 2.
