Camilla Walters thought she had come to the end of the road when fate caught up with her. No where left to run or hide, on the verge of becoming fish food at the hands of drug runners she owed a lot of money to. That was until fate brought her Alexi, head of the family Carrero - The unexpected hero who saved her ass and changed her life in one easy manouvre. Who knew she would have to sign her soul over to the devil in a bid to stay alive and in doing so, lose her heart and mind in the process? This is not your typical hearts and roses story - Let the games begin and the war commence.

Leanne Marshall is a Scottish-born and bred romance writer with more than average life experience. She has been a torrent of wild things, including a singer in a girl band, animal rights activist, and charity owner, worked on radio, and offered jobs on TV. A passionate, restless soul who has always found peace in writing, the only way to calm that fiery spirit. She uses her wit and dark humor to her advantage in her works and has been an avid reader for most of her life. Her influences vary, but from early life and a teen stint in journalism, she applies logic to most of her plot lines, is a confessed research fiend, and likes a lot of psychology behind her character's actions. She currently resides in Central Scotland with her two children and Fiancee of 13 years, making waves in the book world with her signature 'WTF moments' she likes to apply in each story, hints of humor, and devastating emotional rollercoaster rides. Quote from L.T. Marshall - 'Writing has always been an escape for me, loving that no matter what you are doing, where you are - you can create ideal fantasy and get lost in someone else's life. I love nothing more than drawing a reader with me on a journey that tortures your every emotion before the grand exhale.'
These two drove me crazy. If you like other woman drama, the Hero being with others after he meets the heroine, flaunting it you won't mind it but it's not my scene. Cliffhanger end.
I think at first I felt the heroine was throwing herself at him, he rejects her. I am not keen on the heroine doing all the chasing. He really humiliates her several times in front of other women.
Another astounding start to a contemporary Romance series from Marshall!!
The writing is wonderful and keeps the reader hooked, pulling a vast range of emotions from the reader at varying points in the story. We are shocked, heartbroken, amused, annoyed, Heartwarmed, and then mad and heartbroken some more.
These aren’t romance stories that make you roll your eyes at the predictability and ease with which Characters slide into a perfect relationship, rather we are bumped in and out of scenarios that shock to varying degrees. The responses are logical to the Characters personalities, they clash, they fall out, and we feel sympathy for one or the other depending on the situation.
I adored the first Trilogy, I loved the second, but I have to say this is my favourite opening so far!
This isn’t Marshalls usual slide into the story with a shocking end, no. In This trilogy the shocks start early and they keep coming! And yet... there is still no predicting the conclusion.
I adored the new Characters even whilst at times absolutely hating Alexi. I love him. I hate him. I understand him, and I kind of want to punch him in the face, but I get his reactions.
The same goes for Camilla. Her responses and attitude are understandable, his shock and misunderstanding of her character are as well. These are two very stubborn people who rub each other the wrong way through having very strong personalities, and minimal capacity for understanding others emotions.
At several points I have cringed because I can picture how a reaction will come, and then I flinch at the response of the counterpart, not because I don’t understand, but because I do.
Far from a Happy go Lucky book, this is none the less my favourite yet from Marshall. Another heart-wrenching and beautifully written tale that twists and turns, and leaves you desperate for the next instalment whilst simultaneously wanting to scream at the Author, Alexi and Camilla are a story that will grip you from the start, and hold tight well after the last page.
I have read the first six books in the Carrero Series, each set of three is dedicated to a specific couple. First I fell in love with Jake and Emma, and then I had the pleasure of meeting Arrick and Sophie, and just like Goldilocks... Jake maybe he was too big, and Arrick, maybe he was too small because now I have met Alexi and Camilla and Alexi is just right!
Alexi Carrero, the bad boy of the family, sexy, ultra hot and a brilliant business man even if some of his businesses are not necessarily legitimate.
Camilla Walters, a sophisticated woman by self design with a background that no-one would believe how far she climbed, not necessarily using legitimate ways to do so.
A match made in heaven one would think of Camilla and Alexi or is it a match made in hell.
Eagerly reading and absorbing every word of this book, know this, it is not a light and fluffy romance novel. It deals with serious demons that mess with peoples heads and teaches them how to fight to survive, literally and figuratively.
As much as I have loved the first six books, The Carrero Contract, or Book 7 as I refer to it, Marshall has honed her writing style. It is superb and the ending will leave you gobsmacked!
I can not recommend this series enough to as many people as possible! Book 7 is the best one yet and I cannot wait to find out what happens in Book 8!!!
I first discovered L.T. Marshall’s book back in December and since then have read the other two trilogies from her Carrero Series. Although these books are contemporary romance they’re not your typical girl meets boy, falls in love and lives happily ever after. There is a hard hitting storyline to each set which covers real life issues. It’s the ups and downs and the day to day struggles that the characters face which give these books their pull. They will certainly take your emotions on a rollercoaster journey. The author is known for lulling you into a false sense of security, ripping out your heart and shredding it to pieces, to then put it back together again. L.T. Marshall’s writing gets better and better with each book and this latest installment is one of her best. It has a slightly darker edge to it (not in a kinky, BDSM way) but in the backdrop of crime and punishment edge of your seat way. Alexi Carrero has a dark, mysterious side to him. Camilla is no fairy princess either, a good match in my opinion. I am really looking forward to reading the next 2 books in this set and experience this particular journey, the bad and hopefully the good, along with Alexi and Camilla. If you’re expecting a romance story that’s all marshmallows and rainbows then this one may not be for you, if you don’t mind a little rough around the edges then I highly recommend it.
Oh my goodness, Alexi is hotter than a heatwave in this latest book by LT Marshall. In previous books I wasn’t that keen on Camilla but having gotten to know her story I can sympathise with her and understand why she behaved the way she did. Sparks fly between Alexi and Cam and the mafia boss is every bit the bad boy. I think I’m definitely #teamalexi (sorry Jake)
The first book of another trilogy in the Carerro series. After reading the first six books I did look forward to this couple. However, I'm on the fence at the moment. I didn't like it, but I didn't dislike it, if that makes sense. Alexi was one of those characters you'll either love or hate, and right now I hate the ground he walks on. Camilla would have been as well dead, and why she put up with it I'll never know. This is a much darker book compared to the others. Mafia books is one of my favourite genres, but I'll need to see where this story goes in book 2, because this leaves us hanging.
I have read this book so many times, and It never gets old. Camilla and Alexi are two people who have had their share of hardships personally. Their relationship is one born of Fire and chemistry. Am absolute joy to read and well written. A masterpiece.
Oh my! Anger, tears, more anger, and ending with tears. I am having such a hard time not hating Alexi. He is an Italian crime boss who saves Camilla at the request of someone in his family. However, he doesn't save her with altruistic purposes, no, he expects her to work for him to pay off her debt. Basically, he comes right out and tells her he owns her. Camilla has been scamming, selling herself and other women, and doing what she needed to to survive which is what got her into trouble.
And Alexi, well he has his own issues, the biggest being trust. What pisses me off the most about him is how he uses Camilla's traumatic past to manipulate and control her. He doesn't believe her trauma and emotions are real, so he feels he is justified in treating her horribly. Even at the very end when she admits she loves him and blurts out the horrid, brutal truth that was her life he disregards that information as if it doesn't matter. Camilla sees only one way out of this situation and takes it at the very last word of the story.>
Suffice to say, I purchased the book (I had been reading it in KU) and immediately purchased book 8 and 9. This is part of a 9 book series, but the previous 6 books following different characters. One character, Sophia, is mentioned and she is connected to Camilla. There is a back story missing there that you would know if you read the series from the beginning. However, you can jump in at book 7 and not be totally lost. It may be well worth going back to read the beginning of the series.

Being big fan of The Carrero series, I’ve waited patiently for that stroke of midnight to receive my copy of The Carrero Contract on my kindle and read it front to back the same day.
I have now gone through all different roller-coaster rides with this temperamental Carrero family but this one must be the best one yet. I love author’s writing and how she can just make you feel what you read, it is a talent not many have and although some stuff can make me pretty mad, I can’t stop reading it.
The Book 7 starts with following yet another Carrero man, much darker and a lot more evil altogether. I knew that some of his personality traits will make me crazy but I believe I’m not the only one who is attracted to him because of his dark soul.
Camilla didn’t think there was much left for her in this life, she was quite sure there won’t be tomorrow for her but when she opens her eyes in the hospital, she sees her hero but he’s not an angel, quite the opposite. There are rules to follow and contract to fulfill to pay her debts. And of course there is this dark energy that keeps pulling her towards Alexi.
Both characters show a lot more personality throughout the book and although neither of them is perfect, you can’t help but love them. You begin to understand more about what made Camilla to be the way she is and you will see her changing drastically when she is given chance to become someone else. You will not only understand her but forgive her all her sins from previous books.
Book 7 of The Carrero series is the best written book by this author so far. Don’t know if it’s the topic, characters or just plainly this amazing talent but my addiction to these books continues stronger than ever.
I highly recommend reading all the previous books of this series but book 7 can also be your starting point on Carrero journey as it starts will all new story and although it will let you into Carrero world from totally different point, I’m sure you will love it!
Wow what a cliff hanger of a ending. Never have I seen two people so broken and afraid of letting someone in. They wind each other up, get under each other’s skins and know better than anyone that no good can come of this game they are playing. Alexi and camilla are from the same world but very different ends of the playing field. Can they take the same paths that the other Carrero men have followed .... I need answer and I don’t want to wait.
This is book 7 in The Carrero Series, although you can read this without prior books. There are back story hints from previous books worked in, so this new trio can be read alone. For a fuller understanding then start with The Carrero Effect .
This is the first in a new trilogy of The Carrero series by L.T Marshall.
Camilla Walters has had it tough all her life but she turned it around and learned to make it work to her advantage. Until she woke up in hospital, owing the biggest gangster in New York, fifty thousand.
Alexi Carrero is head of the Carrero family. A bad boy who is threatening, controlling and knows what he wants. He wants Camilla but only when it suits him.
They are a match made in hell but somehow they work. They know how to make each other tick, how to rile the other up to the point where they want to kill each other. Camilla and Alexi have a connection, that neither of them knows how to handle or if the feelings are real.
The story is fantastic, touching on real life issues. The characters are written in a way that makes you feel what they are feeling. The description of everything that's happening, nothing is left out.
Camilla is witty and sassy and knows how to play the game. Alexi is dark and mysterious but I think he may have a softer side under all that ink.
I can't wait for the next book in the series to see how this story plays out.
Dark Minds , Burried Past, Hidden Feelings And A Broken Mask
What can I say... Another amazing Carrero book. Just as the first 6 books dragged me into them this has too, I absolutely love this author and her writing.. How it draws you in like a honey trap. I love how the love in every single set of these books is different and never fails to suprise me, For me that is a major part of why I love them as L.T always throws you a wtf curve ball, I amalways dying to start the next book straight away. Now what can I say about Alexi and Camilla.... Camila is a girl who always gets her own way hiding behind that well applied mask she's Queen of her game. Until she ends up oweing money to the wrong people up Shit creek without a paddle she thinks this is the end of the line her body broken and barely hanging on.. That's until Alexi swoops in and saves the day. She's safe... Or so she thought She's about to lose all her control she just sold her soul to the devil that Is Alexi Carrero the complete utter Bastard that you can't help love.
This is a review for all 3 books about Alexi and Cam
I have read pretty much all of this authors books and really liked them but this couple was horrible. I mean Cam came off as desperate a lot and Alexi called her whore all the time and a lot worse. He slept with someone after he slept with heroine maybe many someones as that subject was not really fleshed out enough for me.
I usually don’t like writing bad reviews but I noticed there were a lot of 5 star reviews and a couple 3 and 4 but in no reviews were details about safety or spoilers. I wish someone would’ve posted spoilers I would’ve stayed away from this part of series. It wasn’t all bad but these 3 books were long and something I would’ve avoided had I known there was abuse and depending on reader opinion cheating. I think this series may have been debut series for author not positive about that but I can say all her other books I liked a lot more. I actually really like her writing style and wish she had some more to read.

I have read everyone of the carrero series but book 7 has blown my mind it is absolutely brilliant you will either love or hate Alexi but he has to be like he is because of what he represents and his past, Camilla is a game player it's how she has survived all her life.but when alexi and Camilla meet through circumstances the game is a completely different one to what they are use to.this is a powerful masterpiece it has you gripped from the start till the end and i couldn't put it down
I have to say I have read the whole series so far and this book was outstanding . The characters draw you in and you are at one with them living breathing their life. A must read I can't wait for the next book. The camerro family are intense domenering and everything you want !
A book which will grab your attention and hold it the entire length of the book, you won't want to put it down. All you will want is the next book to find out what happens
I love this authors books have read everyone and will read more if she writes them. I love how she pulls you in and makes you care then drives you insane on the roller-coaster of emotions.
This a heart breaking heartwrenching and emotional book of them all. Make sure you have tissues at hand. One of the main characters you love one you hate. A tale of desperation loneliness and scraping together lives that were thrown their way. Amazing book.
I looooved this one, it was addictive and heartbreaking. You want them to be together but at the same time see no hope at all with the way he is treating her. I honestly have nothing to complain about, it was perfectly executed.
I loved all of LT Marshall’s books on the carrero family and this one is just as good! I couldn’t put it down and devoured the book in a few hours! Please do not make us wait to long to find out what happens next!
