In her herd, female shifters are valued as breeders and nothing more. Refusing that fate, the young healer, Embry Caelitēs, flees their hidden valley into the human world. But she knows the males hunting her won’t let her remain free.
When she stumbles across a lost wolf shifter cub, Embry can’t resist the urge to shield the little girl. When two males appear, Embry fears her herd has found her—but they are there to protect the child. The mated panther shifters are as deadly as they are beautiful and strong.
But one is completely, terrifyingly feral.
Half-breed shifter, fiercely independent Lathan Ferox, hadn’t gained the ability to change into his panther until Zaire, a wolf pack enforcer, found him near death in an underground fighting ring. Now mated with the dominant enforcer, Lathan can shift—but his newly awakened beast isn’t under his control. At all. To his horror, he’s a danger to everyone around him. But when Zaire is needed to find a lost wolf cub, Lathan joins him in the search.
Inexplicably drawn to the mated shifters, Embry knows accepting their help is a risk, but her powers to heal can reach beyond what’s broken between Lathan and his beast. The pull between her and Lathan is undeniable, and beyond the savageness of his beast is a man who makes her long for the kind of bond that would have been a death sentence once.
Zaire Torva resents the growing bond, though it’s clear his mate needs more than him to survive. And yet, Zaire finds Embry’s fearless need to challenge him at every turn alluring. No matter how hard he resists, he’s falling for her, but at least they have one thing in common—they’ll sacrifice everything for those they love.
As the hunters from Embry’s herd close in, will love be enough to keep them all alive?
Tell you about me? Hmm, well there's not much to say. I love hockey and cars and my kids…not in that order of course! Lol! When I'm not writing—which isn't often—I'm usually watching a game or a car show while working on promo. Going out with my kids is my only down time. I get to clear my head and forget everything.
As for when and why I first started writing, I guess I thought I'd get extra cookies if I was quiet for awhile—that's how young I was. I used to bring my grandmother barely legible pages filled with tales of evil unicorns. She told me then that I would be a famous author.
I am a huge fan of Bianca Sommerland and when I first read this I didn't realize that she wrote paranormal, so I was worried how it would be. I’ve seen it before and been disappointed, badly!!! NOT THIS TIME!!!!! This book was everything I look for in erotic PNR!!! Tamed is a well written story that will keep the reader riveted to the page. The characters have depth and their personalities pull you in, you can’t help but root for the main characters. The world building is fantastic, loved the different types of shifters (readers are in for a fantastic surprise). What’s more, the author stayed true to herself with this story. It’s not just HOT, it is SIZZLING!!!!
I am absolutely positive that if Ms. Sommerland turns this into a series, I will be waiting with bated breath for each new book!!!
I did one status update on this book, because I had to stop and catch my breath when the best shifter ever was revealed in the book!!!! Now, that isn't why I loved this book, but it definitely made me squeal in excitement and added to the greatest that this book is :)
Tough guy meets damaged man and finds his mate, trouble is he is human. One sexy night, well, he is a beast after all and can't wait and it would have been fine if the bad guys didn't choose then to attack. They get through that and onto the job of finding the little girl who ran away from her family to protect herself, only to find she has been taken under the protection of another woman who is running away to protect herself. All the bad guys join together, but then again, so do the good guys, somewhat and somehow
This was an action packed book, with lots of sexy times too, and a lot of thoughts on the human condition, through the animal actions. Why do families protect or shun as they do, and choosing your family to suit your needs not vice versa. The difficult choices leaders need to make for the good of everyone, even if it goes against their personal thoughts. Tamed is what our shifters think they are, but the human turned doesn't think or know that. In the end, all of them let their beasts free at times, and while they can keep them at bay, they are never really tamed, and that is okay
In other words, I loved this book, couldn't set it down and devoured it in one sitting, and it was worth every yawn I'll have today!
5 Star Review Untamed (Feral Bonds #1) by Bianca Sommerland Untamed is certainly a departure from the genre that I have come to expect from Bianca Sommerland. However that being said it was well written and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I really enjoy Ms. Sommerland’s writing style and Untamed was no exception. This is the story of a shifter called Zaire, the human he falls for and who he eventually turns into a shifter, Lathan. Tasked with the search for a missing wolf child, Zaire and Lathan embark on a journey that will alter their planned lives forever. When they eventually find Livvie, she has been helped by a unicorn shifter called Embry, another runaway who is determined not to end up as a brood mare for her clan. Zaire, Lathan and Embry are all immediately drawn to each other as are their beasts. Although paranormal is not a favourite genre of mine, ménage and BDSM are and Untamed have both. I really liked the combination of Zaire, Lathan and Embry together, they simply sizzled. Bianca Sommerland made me forget I was reading paranormal, so engrossed was I in the storyline and I will certainly be reading more in this genre should Ms. Sommerland write them.
After being forced to fight in underground fights, Lathan's life is saved by his mate only to have to fight again and loose himself to his panther. When he changes back he is a wild card, both untamed and dangerous. Zaire loves his mate and wants to help him, but he also has a job to do. Next, we meet Embry who is on the run for her life, protecting a wolf pup, and ends up being mate to both Lathan and Zaire. Can they work our their issues? Save themselves?
I LOVED this book! From the first page I was hooked. This is one of those books that I just could not put down. It has it all, humor, steamy sex, anger, suspense, kidnapping, attempted murder, and the list goes on. There were surprises along the way too, those parts kept me on the edge of my seat. I can not wait to read more.
I read this book when it was released as a Kindle World book under the name of Tamed. With Kindle Worlds shutting down, the author had to rework the book to remove any references to the original World and has republished. So I bought the new book, too, and thought I would reread it. I don't often reread the books I have, but I am so glad I reread this one because I still loved the book. The bonus with the author having to rework and republish is that now the author can add more books to this series, and I am so excited for them to come.
The writing is fairly good and the storyline is creative. It’s always interesting to have precocious child characters, especially when they also behave like kids sometimes. I’m not a fan of the main character being so easily taken down by the bad guys, though. Zaire is an Enforcer, known far and wide amongst shifters, yet others sneak up on him repeatedly? He’s supposed to be the experienced one yet would have died at least thrice if Lathan or Embry hadn’t been around to save him. Can’t authors create drama without making their own main characters look stupid?
