I've been warned about you and your Nancy Drew crew. There will be no amateur sleuthing on this case.

The mother-daughter duo is back and this time there's a mystery to solve at the Fletcher's Canyon fair. Lots of laughs and even a development in Detective DC Cooper and Christy's relationship. I am sad there's only one book left in the series to read.

I love, love, love this series and for a long time I thought this book would be the last but Christy Murphy's latest newsletter states she will be writing more and I could not be more delighted. I get such a kick out of Mom and her best friend, Wenling. The visions I conjured up of them parading around not only the town but heckling in a dunk tank in their bathing suits made me laugh out loud. I would recommend this series to anyone who likes a lot of humor in their cozies because this is one humorous series. I cannot wait for a new one to come out!!!!!!

Will this series continue

I really enjoyed this book but bring the last book it seems to be anyway, I feel that so much was left up in the air. I would have like for it to continue to see DC buying the house and he and Christy getting married. Also how the entire crime solving business continues and would that come to an end. Would Jo find a love in her life. How would Al turn the town around as he continues being mayor.

Mango Cake and Murder #1- Heartwarming and funny. I love the relationship between the mother and daughter; they reminded me of other m/d relationships like Joy Luck Club, etc. The mother is wise, caring, sensible, a matchmaker (her daughter's) and is loved by all. The daughter realizes how great and loved her mother is and there's the extended family, too. A love interest and a cat with personality. Can't forget the murder and the characters involved with that family. A funny, quickly read suspense. 5*

Apple Pies and Alibis #2 - Another funny book. A well written comedy with a wonderful cast of characters supporting Mom and Christy as they solve another mysterious death, find a sandwich thief and the employee selling company secrets; while they successfully caterer parties and luncheons. When you finish the book, you're sad, but still happy from reading, that the book is finished and you don't have Milkshakes and Murder on hand. 5*

Milkshakes and Murder #3 - They're at it again! Another well written, fun filled story with our favorite ladies and a well thought out plot that keeps the reader immersed in the intrigue, suspense and now, a touch of romance. The characters are interesting and the dialog real. Some of the characters are developing into their full potential and it's fun to watch the growth. There's new characters that will be seen more in future books. Ms. Murphy doesn't disappoint the reader with her writing and sense of humor. 5*

Mocha and Murder #4 - This is a pretty good story! Well written, funny, intriguing and a different path followed than in previous books. Add a PASSEL of new characters, interesting and entertaining, along with a plot that keeps the reader interested. The reader isn't disappointed with the author's writing style and her sense of humor. 5*

Coconuts and Crooks #5 – A well written, interesting, serious but informative story about Christy and her mom’s trip to the Philippines to solve the murder of her mom’s sister. Things go as usual and there’s another murder to solve. The characters are well developed and their dialog is realistic and interesting. The plot keeps the reader immersed in the story and Ms. Murphy’s descriptions paint interesting views of life there and their problems with the murders. This story does not disappoint the reader. The note from the author is interesting on it’s own and worth reading. I contacted the author to review her books. 5*

Honey Buns and Homicide #6 - This is not my first book by Ms. Murphy, but I had so much fun reading it. Not only that, but I caught myself immersed in the pages waiting to see what was next and if I was right about the baddie. This book reads so much like a conversation between friends, drinking ice tea on the front porch. It's well written, interesting, well thought out and filled with humor while being a substantial read. I'm always looking for the next Murphy book; there's no disappointment or stupid formulas, but someone who writes an interesting humorous story. I contacted the author to review her book. 5*

Marshmallows and Murder #7 - Another conversational story that's quickly read, even with the twists. DC's not in this one much, but he makes a big impact on the story and it's a doozie. Another well written, interesting story with the usual Murphy humor blended in with her fun characters and descriptions. 5*

The Secret Truth of Time - I've read Mango Cake and Murder, and Apple Pies and Alibis, and was surprised at the difference between those books and The Secret Truth of Time. Totally and completely apples and oranges. This well written paranormal book is fast paced and difficult to put down. I read it in one sitting. The characters are interesting and the plot is intriguing. The Time Travel alone is a major character! Ms. Murphy is one heck of a storyteller. Don't expect humor and lightheartedness in this story. It is spellbinding! 5*

LOVE this series. The characters are so funny and realistic that you cannot help but fall in love with them. Mom and Wenling are totally crazy and fun. Hannah has her hands full trying to keep them in line. Who am I kidding, no one can keep them in line. Imagine two older ladies sitting in a dunk tank heckling innocent people passing by. Both of them throwing insults faster than a speeding bullet. Ms. Murphy’s books are really fun and provide great entertainment. Loved all of her books that I have read and will continue to read as long as she keeps writing.

3.5* social drama.

This one was far less about the murder and far more about the Freudian slip. If you wanna know more dig right in. In all honesty this was a refreshing change of pace and the banter between Jo and WenLing was amazingly done with a great social background. I love that there was less of the run around snooping and far more from the town relationships. Another great book. Small note a crew emersion breaking moments from poor editing but otherwise great job.

Short, Sweet, and to the Point

Is it possible to find a body, solve a murder, make and sell homemade marshmallows at a booth at a fair, and get engaged in 48 hours? If your name is Mom, Wenling, or Christy it is! Another refreshing, great little tale, perfect for a lazy day. And there's a nice surprise twist at the end just in case you thought you figured it out!

I love this series

As usual, I enjoyed this book. Christy Murphy is one of my favorite cozy mystery writers. Although the books are not long, they are good books. Quality over quantity. Can’t wait to see what happens next with the Nancy Drew Crew.

Marshmallows, carnivals and murder

Poor Christie. Finding the carnivals owner dead in Al’s diner. With DC slip up about a wife on TV mom and Wenling working the dunk tank, Christie has her hand full.

the only reason I gave this 3 stars was because the version of this book I got had a lot of editing errors. (I may have an older copy)

These books are based on a group of family and friends who somehow keep finding dead bodies. The characters are are well portrayed, quirky and sometimes funny. They see themselves as amateur detective's solving the case before the police. They are easy to read and quick to read.

Just ok

It was hard for me to get into. Characters weren’t very relatable and there was a lot of grammar errors that made the story hard to follow at times.
