Beautiful book. Exquisite even.
There's not much writing but I like what's there a lot.
Here's a short quote that stuck out:
"As I sip my tea on a broken bench, waiting for the light to be right, it occurs to me that altitude sickness is a bit like jet lag in reverse. Instead of the physical being waiting for the spirit to arrive like a piece of luggage, up here, it is the soul that has to loiter around while the body is somewhere searching for oxygen."

Stunning is the best description for this book. Basil Pao's photographs are magnificent as they cover everything involved in Michael Palin's Himalaya adventure.
Palin himself contributes the foreword and postscript all of which go to making the book a most enjoyable and certainly visually pleasing one.
