But the list of people after her has just gotten larger.
She had no idea the turn her life would take once her twin left home. The events that led up to her family going into hiding haven't changed. However, she is determined that her freedom is her own. She belongs to no one until she and her wolf both agree upon a mate.
A chance news report sends a shockwave through Jaden’s pack.
The mayhem he left behind may destroy parts of his pack forever, but Jaden doesn’t have time for that, not if he is to save his mate. The mayhem he left behind may destroy parts of his pack forever, but Jaden doesn’t have time for that, not if he is to save his mate.
Will Jaden cross the wrong people in his journey to get his mate?
Can Trina stay free long enough to find Gabby?
The books each focus on one couple, but the books must be read in order to understand the over-all story. The books contain a dash of mystery, suspense, intrigue and humor with a touch of romance. No heat.
My Thoughts: I imagine Trina as someone like the Black Widow, only bristling with more weapons...
I don't like it when authors break their own magic rules. It destroys the "believability" factor in the story. It creates a "disconnect" to the rhythm or flow of the story. This book made me abandon this series for a long while. Which is sad because this book should have been the best in the series yet, because the heroine is bad-ass! She decided she is done with being hunted and started hunting the hunters! Really bad-ass!
I probably have said much of what I have to say about this book with my review of the previous book. However, it bears repeating that the story telling quality of this book is quite good! Good enough that I finished reading this book, despite my ire. Plus, I really like the premise of this series! Gammon gotta be my favourite bad-ass!
Empirical Evaluation: Story telling quality = 4 Character development = 3.5 Story itself = 3.5 Writing Style = 4 Ending = 3.5 World building = 4 Cover art = 3 Pace = 2.5 Plot = 3.5 Narration = 4.5
Trina was remarkably better than Gabby. I’m glad I decided to carry on and read her story, but I still didn’t get enough of the connection with the characters to make me want to continue with the series. I enjoyed the fact that Trina was a bada$$ who decided to take her protection into her own hands and learn some self defense, but I didn’t really like her elitist attitude. And then there was never a time where she actually got to show off her skills; she just pulled a gun on anyone that annoyed her. I feel like there was potential to do a lot more with this book, like maybe if the bad guys had intercepted Trina and her family right before they met the others, or even if they’d come back into the picture after they met and tried to rip her away from her new life. There just needed to be more of that action instead of oh, there’s bad guys around that have been tracking you forever but they never find you... If I ever find myself in need of a quick read, I may come back to the series and read the next book, but overall, I feel like I can put the series down and be happy with not knowing what happens next.
>Book review – Trina >I am an independent reviewer. This book is the 2nd in the Safe Haven Wolves series and ends in an HEA. Trina is the twin of Gabby. She has been on the run with her aunt and uncle and has been told what she is, unlike Gabby. She feels her mate and her mate, Jaden, is searching for her. The story is once again exciting and suspenseful, but Trina is a very unlikable character. I found I wanted Jaden to find someone better for her. >The book is not quite as G-rated, but there aren’t any explicit sex scenes. Jaden is a strong Beta wolf, but Trina seems to be a super alpha. They don’t seem to match. The romance is non-existent as Trina is so unpleasant. >This book is appropriate for a young adult (18+)audience. I am giving this story 3 stars. Chunks of this story were repeated in the book, causing a lack of flow and a lot of confusion.
I really like the premise shins the book. I thought it was a little lacking in important areas. The whole book centres around having a true mate and the author ever describes the actual event of the characters becoming true mates, nor does she go into detail about the character’s wolf coming out. The story could definitely have used some fleshing out. But I did want to keep reading to find out what happens, she the story kept my interest.
A solid tale about wolf shifter twin girls, where shifter women are rare.
The tale follows one of the twins from childhood to just after her 21st birthday, as she and her aunt and uncle flee male shifters who are determined to have a mate, whether or not she agrees. Her twin was separated from them when the girls were sixteen, and they have been searching for her when they were not in the run.
Safe Haven Wolves ! Can I just say ...I I've really Really Enjoyed both books! The story's were very interesting and intriguing! Trina's character(which is also my sisters name) turned out to be funny, and I really enjoyed reading how every unfolded! Great shifter Books !
I managed to get through the book as I thought at some point she might redeem herself, but no, to the end she was a selfish child. There are lots of filler pages which prattle on about nothing. I will read the next book as I’m interested to find out why there is a lack of females, but at this stage I’m just skimming. Thank God for KU
Trina was way better than Gabby. I’m glad I decided to continue and read her story, but I still didn’t get enough of the connection but I enjoyed the fact that Trina was a bada$$ who decided to take her protection into her own hands and learn some self defense, but I didn’t really like her elitist attitude.
This book is much funnier than the first one. The twins finally reunite but time has reversed their roles. Where one was bold, she is now timid. And the other timid twin is now bold. But, they have both met their true mates. Characters that are funny and with their own personalities. Good book.
I didn't like Trina's character at all. She was too immature and manipulative. I don't blame Trey for kicking her out because she was causing problems within his pack. I hope she doesn't cause problems with Marcus's pack with her I don't bow to anyone crap.
Although I enjoyed book one, I found the Trina storyline to be rather dull with a selfish, judgemental and arrogant heroine and a "hero" with a superiority complex despite being a bit of a wet blanket.
Second book in series and it’s good! Got to catch up with members if the first book and set me up for the third. Beginning that one in a few minutes. Great way to spend the weekend. I’m hooked!
And I've only read 1 & 2. Well written. It will keep you running right along with the characters. Trying to figure "it" out right along with Trina & Jaden. Come along! It won't do you no harm!😁 Thank you for your time, talent and THE STORY!
so good to see what happened to Trina. loved that this one basically runs at the same time as book 1. would have loved to know more about the honeymoon. oooh and an alpha powered she wolf? how curious would have loved more on Jadens pack mates also
Trina is one of my favorites in this series. I love how she constantly keeps people guessing. But also that she is unique and not like the other female shifters. She wants to save people she doesn't want to be saved! Loved this book!
It's a good book with the potential to be great but I felt the story development needed some love and the main character development. But otherwise good book.
Again, I really enjoyed the story line or what could be the story line. There’s just a lot missing as far as character interactions, though that just may be the authors writing style.
Gabby twin sister is found and she's a strong female who is an alpha she wolf. Love her she's strong ,mouthy and takes no prisoners attitude is a fresh look in female shifter
Trina is first, yes indeed. I hate that Trey asked her to leave. Gabby should have put her feet down because she had just gotten her sister back. Good read, great story..
Finding these books really good for a quick read. Some characters could do with a bit more depth, but get the feeling that will happen in their own books
