Being captivated by Anna’s unprecedented beauty since forever, Harry Buxton, the handsome Earl of Creassey, finally seizes the opportunity to pursue his secret feelings of love for his gorgeous childhood friend.

But the girls’ tragedy is quickly followed by the fast-spreading news of them receiving a grandiose inheritance and Anna’s honor is threatened to be ruined forever. Harry is the only man willing to risk everything to save her.

Hanna Hamilton

Hanna Hamilton has been fascinated with the Regency era ever since she was a young teen, first discovering historical romance novels by famous authors such as Jane Austen and Lisa Kleypas. She believes that love was just so much more magical back then, more like a fairy tale. She always daydreamed about finding love herself that way, but since that is impossible in the twenty-first century, she decided to write about it instead!

Born in Texas, Hanna Hamilton obtained a degree in Creative Writing and has worked as a literature teacher before becoming a novelist. When she isn’t writing, Hanna likes to explore the countryside with her husband and two children, gaining inspiration from the natural world around her.

So, come on a journey into love, confusion, and redemption all within the Regency era. Hanna hopes that you will enjoy immersing yourself into her novels and that you too will find a love for old-fashioned romance, just as she has.

I can't say that the book is bad it's just bland. Everyday recounting of what's happening to whom and too much attention given to cattle and estate management - I thought this was a romance novel and not an agricultural manual! Another thing that I didn't like was that there are so many characters that seem to be important and the informality between them all as well as all the rest of secondary characters is not prevalent for that time period. It felt like author was taking some liberties in usual behavior of noble people of the time. There is no apparent chemistry between anyone, everybody either thinks or admires someone, feels a little bit like a beginning of soap opera. And lets get to another issue - there is no indication of when exactly the events are happening. Since it's a Regency Romance according to the book title there is a window of time I can guess at but usually there is a clear indicator like mention of Beau Brummell or Waterloo battle, or King George iii and really, was it that hard to put in a year, but here there's nothing. I struggled to read even that much but it was really boring. By this time in the book there has to be some development but here it's just plain nothing. So I gave up!

I realize that, in the scheme of things, perhaps the title of a book is not so important. After all, it's primary purpose is to pique the reader's interest and promote sales. However, for not the first time with this author, I fail to understand the significance of the title chosen for this book. It seems to focus on a relatively insignificant character and make her the focus. I don't get it. My advice is to ignore the title, because I just found it confusing.

The story is good, the plot is interesting, the characters are likable, and ultimately, I enjoyed it. However, it started too slowly and at times, characters seemed a bit wooden. I found it difficult to connect with any of them, with the exception of Harry. Somehow, he seemed more in touch with his feelings and more willing to express them.

Dorothy was a funny character, difficult not to like on some level. Anna and Maria were very practical, and therefore, easy to understand. Percy was a bit of a loveable (most of the time) loser, and Christopher was earnest. But it was Harry who demonstrated strength of character, integrity, intelligence, honor, steadfastness, faithfulness, and unwavering loyalty -- probably the most mature of any of them. I found myself rooting for him above all others.

This was not Hanna Hamilton's best work. I still reserve that spot for The Scandal of the Deceived Duchess. But this was a decent book and not a waste of time. You won’t hate yourself for reading it.

Hanna Hamilton’s The Scandalous Saga of the White Lady is exactly what a Regency Romance novel should be: period appropriate, romantic, well written and with a great HEA. It also had no cheating or cliffhangers, which I find more enjoyable. Anna and Harry’s story has some great twists and turns to get to it’s needed HEA, but the author does so with great style and in a way that doesn’t at all feel contrived. But for the fact that I’m literally dictating this review to my husband from my hospital bed I could go on and on with praises - the book definitely deserves it. Since I can’t do that I will simply note that the book is most definitely one to read, it is easy to highly recommend. I’m definitely looking forward to the next book in this series.

3 for one !!😉😊

I recieved an ARC of this book for my honest review.
First , I'm biased as i like Hanna Hamilton's works .
Second , you are getting 3 live stories in one book with this book ( Yay!)
Third, if you haven't read a book by this author , then this one would be a good start to determine whether you'd be interested. Some readers have said it starts out slow, but i was engaged with the lady and gentleman, in a canoe, on a river, heading over a waterfall ....(who were these 2? And what is Aunt Agatha's story ? Hanna ,you are going to enlighten us , right? 😉😉)
Let the reading commence!! Enjoy, i did !

An interesting story about not one but three heroines and their intertwined journeys to romance. The storyline held my interest from start to finish. I really felt for Anna and Maria and could have happily shaken Percy at times. I would recommend this book to other lovers of Historical Romance.
I received an ARC copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This was a very good book. I loved the character Anna. Her sister, Dorothy, acted like a spoiled brat sometimes. I also like the characters of Harry and his sister Maria. This book is a sweet, clean and wholesome. I received a copy from Ms Hamilton and this is my honest opinion.

Delightful recall of how three couples found their way to each other. I found the characters had amicable personalities. I just found that after the death of Anna and Dorothy’s father, Dorothy did not seem to miss him so much. She hemmed and hawwed over every little thing as if they were such an inconvenience to her. Even as the story continues and it shows her to have a tender heart, I could not get her portrayal of a selfish, bratty little princess. Anna herself handled everything with grace and thoughtfulness. However, when it came to suitors, she was not so astute. Percy is the heir to a dukedom near dun territory and his father is bullying him to marry for money to keep the family from ruin. Percy's father wants him to marry Anna because she is now an heiress. But Percy is in love with his best friend Harry's sister Maria. Now Harry has secretly loved Anna for years and never professed it. But seeing what Percy was doing was unconscionable he had to think of something to save Anna from a grievous mistake. I have loved Hanna Hamilton's past book but this one, I felt did not hit the high standards she always had. If I were to equate this to a fluffer nutter sandwich, this story is all marshmallow fluff without the bread and peanut butter. The overall idea for the story is a good one but I feel there is plenty of room for improvement.

Marriage for love 💘or money💰? Love 💘 Entangled.

Harry, the Earl of Creassey and his sister Maria have been friends since childhood with Anna and her sister Dorothy, and Percy the son of a Duke. When word comes that Anna and Dorothy's father the Viscount has been lost at sea during his voyage home from India and they are his only heirs they aren't sure if they're going to be courted for love 💘💘or their inheritance. Dorothy therefore asks Christopher to become engaged to her believing that it will save her from fortune hunters.
The Duke keeps hounding Percy to find a rich well-to-do woman to marry in order to save their family from disaster and when he finds that Anna is an heiress, he forces Percy to try to get her for his bride. Percy has feelings for Maria but knows that her dowry isn't enough to save his family so he tries to make Anna believe that he's been to shy to let her know how much she means to him.
Harry has always loved 💘 Anna, but never thought he'd have a chance with her because he thought Anna loved 💘Percy. What a tangled web that ends in a triple wedding with true love 💘conquering in the end along with generosity and a job offer.

This is a romantic, entertaining and convoluted story of love, loyalty, duty and friendship. Percy is a weak, lazy heir who can't dedicate himself to anything or anybody. Maria is a hard working, sweet woman who has been waiting for Percy to grow up, and propose. Harry is a loyal, caring man who has been in love with Anna forever, but refuses to come between her and her feelings for Percy. Anna is a strong, stubborn woman who has feelings for Percy and considers Harry one of her best friends. Dorothy is a determined, outgoing woman who is looking to have more from life. Christopher is a kind, optimistic man who calmly lives his life and looks for happiness where he can find it. The storyline is intriguing and the characters are fascinating, for so many reasons. At times the characters' lines are corny, but it's a good book.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. This is my honest and voluntary opinion of it.

The Scandalous Saga of the White Lady focuses mainly on two families. In one family, Anna and Dorothy learn their father has died. He has left them a fortune and an estate. The sisters are opposites but both are beautiful. Dorothy begins to court quickly and becomes engaged. Anna has feelings for a man but soon learns the man is pursuing her for less than honorable reasons. She finds the man she is to be with is right in front of her all along.

Harry and Marie are lifelong friends with Anna and Dorothy. We get to see the tangled web of relationships between the group and how true love is stronger than anything.

The White Lady is the aunt to Anna and Dorothy and she is quite a character but the part of the book I loved the best was when Dorothy meets the family of her fiance. That was such a fun part of the book. The ending was great and we get to see a happily ever after.

Dorothy and Anna Hoskins took care of the estate while their father was in India. They had not heard from him for a while and were very concerned. Harry Buxton was in love with Anna but she loved Percy, who loved Maria, Harry's sister. What a mess, needless to say, this caused many misunderstandings, confusion and noncommunication. There were three families that were involved. What an awful man the duke was and did not help the problem at all. I am sure by this point the reader is befuddled, but luckily the author has it all in hand and managed to keep things straight. It was so interesting, that I had difficulty putting it down. It moved quickly and was a great and intriguing read.

Hanna Hamilton has written a fun and entertaining story, this was a book of surprises, loss, sadness it gave you a few laughs and definitely some love. The characters are intriguing, strong, independent and likable. This was a story with a whole lot of heart, that keeps you turning the pages just to see how things will end up. The list of characters will keep you rooting for them to find what will finally make them see what has always been right there all along. A story of family and close friends who will be there for each other though all the ups and downs they all face. I really thought this was a delightful and charming story. I absolutely recommend this great story. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

Title makes no sense

The title makes absolutely no sense, no one is called the white lady and there is no scandal. The only conflict is because of her inheritance the guy she likes tried to marry her when he is in love with her friend. You know the whole time that the hero loves her and she figured out fairly quickly that she loves Jim too, in fact, she even te!!s him that he likes her.... It's a sweet read, but a little inspid, and kind of hard to place timeline because it is ambiguous. The earl works, the women work, they don't seem to have grand loves despite titles.... Even the duke goes to an investor meeting instead of his man of business.... But there is also no vehicles or trains that would mark it as more Victorian. It's sweet but a little strange too.

Sweet story involving 3 women in Regency times, searching for their life partners. Trying to determine what was important for them in a mate, making a good match, was central to the story. The setting was realistic, as were the problems all the families involved were having. Happily, the correct couples ended up together, all marrying with deep affection for each other.
There were a few obstacles in the way, and they were overcome in the course of the story. I liked the story, the setting was realistic, and most of the characters rang true. It was a clean book, appropriate for all ages of readers.

Great story, lots of surprises, twists & turns.

I so enjoyed this book. It held my attention all the way through & had great life lessons as well as a bit of suspense & of course, love. I liked how the friendship of those who had been friends for years was strong enough to weather deceit & broken hearts & still stand firm. I am glad that Percy, son of the Duke, finally found his manhood & stood up to his father. There's a lot of forgiveness & kindheartedness as well as wisdom & great unselfish hearts among the friends. Good job, Hannah!
P.S. The title doesn't do the book justice.

This is a story about three couples who are all connected to one another in some way. The villain of piece is the Duke, Percy's father, who pushes Percy to marry money. The woman, Percy loves only has a dowry of three thousand pounds, but the grieving Repington sisters have just inherited a mansion and a hundred thousand pounds. This story is a farce at times and made me laugh at the stupidity of the sisters and farce of Percy courting Anna. I reminded me of Shakespeare's "Mid Summer's Night Dream".

Wanted to like it!

I was intrigued when reading the description of this book and was eager to read it. I had a hard time getting into it. It was all over the place and I soon lost focus on the characters. There was so much going on, I felt i never really saw the characters develop . I also stopped caring about what happened and skimmed several chapters. I think it would have been better to have done several separate stories. This is the first book I have read by this author and i am not giving up on her. I will try another book, but this one was not a favorite.

It was not spine tingling. In fact it was dull and too fanciful to hold my attention. The cruel father was almost the only interesting thing although I also liked the scandalous London lady. The aunt added nothing, Christopher 's family were crude. The sisters were spoiled. Harry was likable but almost too cavalier about being in love and not acting on it. Percy was fickle. Maria was pitifully overworked. The part that turned me off was how quickly the author got everyone engaged, married, problems solved and happily ever after. This after dragging out the agony for so long.

This is a historical read with plenty of drama and even though it is Anna and Harry’s story there are a number of characters. Anna and her sister are taking care of their father’s estate and shocked at the news he died. When learning that their inheritance is much larger than the expected seems to cause more trouble. Plenty of twists and turns with very entertaining characters. I was hooked from beginning to end. A good read.

I received an ARC of this book for a honest review. I am still trying to figure out what the title had to do with the story. I have read other books by this author it have enjoyed them very much.. This one, not so much. To many characters, rather gone away a lot, and no one in the house except for the daughters. Father doesn't die until the middle of the book. And I still can't figure out who the white lady was.

Dnf early on

The formatting is very clunky and reader-unfriendly. No indents but double spacing between paragraphs which leads to huge amounts of white space on some pages.

But my real problem with this novel is the way the characters are simply thrown at the reader. I gave up trying to work out who people were after a very short time - everyone ended up lumped together in a totally confusing mess.

The dialogue was stilted, the characters flat and dull.

I received this from the author in exchange for an honest review. So this is a tale that really has 6 main characters it really doesn’t focus to much on one or the other at least in my opinion. I don’t know what it was but I just wasn’t super in love with this. I mean it had a solid storyline just nothing too special about the characters. I also still can’t figure out how the title fits this book.

Anna and Dorothy have lost their father to an accident at sea. Being left with a substantial income they are not sure if it is love for them or their money. Harry and Percy have been friend for a long time. Will that friendship be tested by Percy's need for money? A delightful story will keep you guessing to almost the end.

A friend is a friend, is a friend that's------------.

It's sometimes amusing how difficult and confusing relationships between friends can become. You have strong, hardworking friends and then you have those that aren't. The plot and subplots come together smoothly and so well written. Enjoyable book.

Amazing!

As with her other books Mrs. Hamilton has produced another great story. I very much enjoyed reading this book. I know that if you have read any of the other books that Mrs. Hamilton has written you will love it. If it is the first book of hers you have read you will love it and want to read more from this author.
