Hugo’s plan to use the Wechselbag as slaves has been thwarted - Jennifer and Stephen made sure he died.

Painfully.

The Wechselbag Hugo had stolen are freed and safe, and they thought their work was done.

They were wrong.

The problem? One Wechselbag who survived Hugo’s torture has come to the conclusion that the only way to keep his people safe…

Is to kill every human he can get to. He’s rallying Wechselbag to his side and is ready to launch a war that will cost thousands of innocent lives.

Stephen failed to keep his house in order once.

He won’t make the same mistake again.

To Hell And Back is part of The Kurtherian Gambit Universe set between books 13 and 14.  Loosely, these three years are called "The Dark Years" or "The Lost Years."

The Dark Years - when the Trials and Tribulations of being merciful were shouldered by Bethany Anne and her people.

NOTE: This book contains cursing. Perhaps humorous cursing, but cursing nevertheless. If this offends you, I don't suggest reading this book.

About the author

Natalie Grey

Natalie Grey grew up in rural New England, surrounded by a lot of vegetables and relatively little excitement. Therefore, she was obliged to make up excitement by pretending to be a knight, mage, jet-setting international assassin, jedi, or (occasionally) a shape-shifting dragon. She read everything she could get her hands on, from Lord of the Rings to Modesty Blaise, and eventually started writing her own stories full of what-ifs and snarky put-downs. Now she lives with her two German Shepherd mixes in the frozen wilds of Minnesota, and does a lot of inventive swearing while she shovels.

I have had the pleasure to discover that keeping track of this series' "in between" storylines is just as important as keeping up with the main series. They can't survive without the other.

To Hell and Back is the third book in Stephen & Jennifer’s tale. The story concludes nicely and surprisingly with low bloodshed. Stephen is quite the diplomat in his new role! The characters are likable and relatable. The storyline and plot are interesting!

This was a great ending to this series, with some powerfully emotional reading, and a great sense of finality in the way it was plotted.

Natalie Grey, like all of the authors that I've read - so far - within Michael Anderle's Kurtherian Universe, writes a wonderful combination of serious writing, kicka*s heroics, and an almost superhero way that Bethany Anne's crew deal with all of the shenanigans going on.

This is a mix that I've really come to love, and expect, with every author pairing Michael makes, to add to his worlds, and I'm very much looking forward to reading more of both Natalie's own stuff, and any more writing she does with Michael.

I'm spoilt royally for that, with the sheer amount of authors Michael has introduced to his universe, and allowed to play!

Life is so much more enjoyable for me, knowing that there are so very many more books to look forward to reading!

So good!

I know, my reviews of this series are all starting to sound alike. What can I say? These books are really freaking good! Interesting stories, characters that are written so well you can easily sympathize with them and know how different characters will react to different things. They never plod along, instead they are fast paced with great action scenes and even different fighting styles with each character! And finally there is the sense of humor woven throughout each book, with mandatory creative swearing and now beginning to include an alien and an AI who are learning what it's like to exist. I wholeheartedly recommend this series, and be sure to look up a timeline so you can read all books in order. Enjoy!

Excellent romp

I enjoyed reading this mini-series starring Stephan and Jennifer. They are an unlikely couple, but in love all the same. All the bad guys lose, rather gruesomely. All the good guys make it. The ones who wavered were talked over to the good side. The only character I think should have been shown more mercy was Filip. He was stupid, but tried to help in the end. Humans in general did not put in a good showing in these books. Depressing, but likely accurate. No typos, grammar excellent. Expertly edited.

Could have been

I am disappointed in many things not the least in the poor choice of covers, compared to all the other Kurtherian covers Jennifer and Stephen got royal scr..ed and this was supposed to be about them, not Team BMW not the Queen's shoes. Jennifer for 70 % of this story was a minor background character, not one of the 2 main characters. I expected so much more and got so much less. 😡

Worth the wait

It seemed like we would never get to read the final book of this great series but it was worth the wait.this book returned us to a time in the Lutheran universe that I loved so much. It was hard to put this book down and it was easy to fall back into the story with the characters that you can't help but love

Finally published! It's a bother when you lose a book....

Everything was wrapped up, with a pleasant surprise ending I didn't expect. As always, some hilarious moments in the midst of the action.

Love how you are knocking out so many stories that you lost one. How many more are lost in digital purgatory?
It's nice to have the story rounded out, so thanks for that.😉

It was good to hear from Stephen, Jennifer and their crew. I'm glad they continued the series and we found out what happens to the other prisoners and got updates on everyone. Hope we get more books with them.

Good conclusion to the trilogy

Everything was wrapped up nicely in the end no strings left hanging. It does however make me want to read more books about the characters that are in this universe that are outside of the ones I already read I really enjoyed this

I really enjoyed this series. I have to say that the romance was lame at first but it did grow on me. I am an older gentleman and romance seems dead to me.
