Animal train

Rate this book
Fun story. A train carrying animals is chugging along, when the giraffe chews a hole in the roof of a car. Out climbed the giraffe, elephant, bear and a band of monkeys and began to romp across the tops of the cars. The conductor yelled at them, but they paid no attention. Finally, in a smart and unusual way, he gets them to return to their car.

Found a box of books from my childhood. Of Course I had to sit down and go through them before packing them away again. Loved each and every one of them.

Another Whitman Publishing "Tell-A-Tales" small-dimension hardcover from my childhood. I had to post to the Kindle version because the book version does not have the cover art, and I won't give Jeff Bezos free labor to post it. I noticed that a lot of my preschool favorites involved trains.

This one's pretty simple. The giraffe chews through the roof of the animal car on the train heading for the zoo and the animals climb out and dance on the roof of the train as it passes the towns and countryside. But, a mountain tunnel looms down the tracks. Will the feisty animals get decapitated?

Naw, they just get put back in their places and a makeshift roof of plank boards is nailed down to hold them in.

But we know what happens to the gorilla. Some kid wanders into his pen and his ass ends up getting shot.
