One that I picked up, then realised I'd already read.

It's story about someone who was viciously attacked and raped when she was a teenager and then spends the rest of her life trying to make sense of the fragmented memories she has about the event. Because she can't remember who did it to her, she spends her life in constant fear that the person will find her and attack her again.

This fear is seemingly realised when someone she meets triggers memories in her and she is in a panic wondering if this is the person who attacked her. She spends the rest of the book in this state until…

Interesting study of the effect of violence on memory and life.

I’ve never been so angry at the plot of a book in my life. This went in a direction that I hated
