***This book was previously published in Amazon Kindle Worlds***
Sylvia Schneider loves her some Navy SEALs, but only the ones she creates digitally for a video game she's producing. Devastated by the death of her military fiancé, she hasn't dated in two years, much less left her apartment. But when her boss asks her to introduce the new game at a convention in Vegas, she's forced out of the house and her shell. To top off her already building anxiety, she's been getting nastygrams from someone claiming she stole their game design. Threats on her life send her to John “Tex” Keegan, a former Navy SEAL, for help. He sets her up with a SEAL as a bodyguard. Sylvia is adamant that it's just for the weekend, and just for an escort—and not that kind of escort.
Braxton “Brawn” O'Brien was the runt of his pack. He left home to make a name for himself as a Navy SEAL, where as even the smallest wolf, he towers among the humans, using his preternatural abilities to save lives. But lately his wolf side has been battling anger issues, and the rage inside him cannot be quelled. He's forced into medical leave to figure out what the problem is, or his military career is over.
When Tex hooks Braxton up with a bodyguard gig while on leave, Braxton hopes he can also find a way to satisfy the beast roaring inside him. One look at his charge, Sylvia, and he knows what’s been going on. He’s needed a mate, and he just found her. The problem is convincing the spunky, yet shy human of the same. When the threats on her life turn into attacks, Braxton will hunt until his last breath to keep his mate safe. But Sylvia's got secrets of her own that may make or break the mating bond.
Wren Michaels hails from the frozen tundra of Wisconsin where beer and cheese are their own food groups. But then a cowboy swept her off her feet and carried her away to Texas where she promptly lost all tolerance for snow and cold. They decided they’d make beautiful babies together and they got it right on the first try. Now Wren lives happily ever after in the real world and in the worlds of her making, where she creates book boyfriends for the masses to crave.
Perfect afternoon read. Enjoyed the characters and the context. Braxton is the perfect kind of alpha. I hope to read more of this author. And glad to find a new one to save on my Kindle.
Once I started I had a really hard time putting it down. One of the fun things about these Kindle World books is the cross over of characters. Braxton was introduced in a previous book, but this is completely a standalone book.
Sylvia needs to go to Vegas to reveal her game, but with the threat she's received, she contacts Gerri (my all-time favorite matchmaker) to have some security for the event. Security, that's all Silvia wants... But really? This is Gerri we are talking about. It's never that simple with her.
As with most shifter books, the connection between Silvia and Braxton is immediate and hot, both literal and figuratively. Braxton will do anything to keep Silvia safe and the danger came from a source I wasn't quite expecting.
A fast, exciting, sexy read! Loved every minute of this book.
I received this book with the understanding that I could leave a voluntary and honest review.
In this book we meet Sylvia Schneider and Braxton "Brawn" O'Brien. Sylvia is a graphic designer for video games created by Noah Wright. Sylvia likes this type of work due to the fact that she has been a virtual shut in since the death of her fiance 2 years earlier. So when Noah askes her to run the launch of the new game at a Vegas convention she is understandable freaked out but with all Noah has done for her how can she deny him time with his mate. Plus with the recent threats to her Noah promises her a bodyguard to keep her safe. Can she do this or will her fears control her and what will she do with the bodyguard she has been assigned?
Brawn has been going through something recently and he doesn't know quite what it is. He is a Navy Seal who can't seem to hold his anger lately. This is dangerous not only for himself but for his entire team. As a shifter he should be able to hold it together better. So when his team leader puts him on forced medical leave to determine what is going on with both himself and his wolf he is at a loss for what to do. All he has wanted was to belong and he believes that he has found that place with the seals. So when he is given this protection detail he believes this will give him a chance to figure out his head and get back to what he does best. Little did he know this wasn't just a run of the mill protection this is a Gerri Wilder set up protection. Is this woman he is meant to protect his mate and if so what is out to get her and can he save her before it is to late?
This is a great book about finding love even after you think that you won't get another chance at it. This book has many twists and turns I really want to tell you all about but I refuse to ruin it for another reader. I will say this book will have you hooked from the first word to the very end. I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.
I had fun with this hot and steamy romance from the Paranormal Dating Agency Kindle Worlds. Everything you need to know to decide to pick up this gem is in the story blurb. But I can guarantee that you’ll be wanting to check this one out real soon.
Sylvia and Braxton heat up the pages. There is danger, definitely steamy sexy times and some secrets to be revealed in a surprising fashion. I completely enjoyed this one and I would definitely recommend it to any Paranormal Romance or Shifter Romance reader. I’d be more lengthy, but to do that I’d have to give away spoilers – and that would not do at all. Try this one, I think you’ll love it.
I read this title through my Kindle Unlimited subscription.
Fun yet intriguing read. And Hot! Definitely hot! Phew, I'm still fanning myself while trying to recover from the shock of the surprise ending. Totally caught me off guard. Wow! Way to go to the author.
Sylvia and Braxton's story flowed well, as the intrigue and romance increased in a balanced dance of chemistry and tension. I quickly became infested in both the characters. I would recommend this book to my friends and fellow shifter lovers.
Disclosure: I was given this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This was an excellent book to read. One of these days these shifters might come to realize that Gerri knows what she is doing and if she sets you up with someone your a goner in the single department.
With this story you were able to feel emotions coming from the characters and you found yourself giving the woman some props to keep up her confidence.
When the shifter twist comes into play I will tell you now that you will be blown away. I loved the twist.
Our heroine has been locked inside herself for over two years, a bomb explosion terrorized her. Our hero is becoming more aggressive, his wolf wanting to take over. Threats to our heroine elicit a call to Gerri who promptly enlists the aid of our hero. Lots of surprises are in store for our pair.
This was a well written quick read. While I love this Kindle World, I chose this book to follow a thread of characters that this talented author and several others, started in Susan Stokers Kindle World. Every book I have read by this author has been well worth the investment of my time and money!

Sylvia Schneider has dreamt of Navy SEALs for years and creates them digitally for a video game she is producing. She is still devastated by the death of her military fiance and hasn't dated since which has been two years. When her boss asks her to introduce the new game at a gaming convention in Vagas she is made to leave the house and pull herself out of her funk. She has been receiving threats from someone insisting that she stole their game design so her boss sends her to John “Tex” Keegan, a former Navy SEAL, for help. He sets her up with a serving SEAL as a bodyguard to make sure she remains safe. Wolf shifter Braxton “Brawn” O'Brien left home to make a name for himself and so joins as a Navy SEAL where his family runt status is irrelevant as he is bigger than all the humans. After being forced into medical leave thanks to a recent bout of anger issues and rage that he seems to be unable to control, he needs to work out what the problem is and fix it before his career is over. However, after taking a bodyguard gig from Tex he only has to look at the woman he is guarding and he knows exactly what was wrong with him - he needed a mate and that mate is Sylvia. Can he persuade his mate that she is his mate and find their happiness together? At the convention, the threats against her turn into an attack and Braxton and he will do whatever he needs to do to protect his mate. However, Sylvia has her own secrets that might make or break the mating bond between them - can this all work out so they can be happy ever after?
I loved this story which showed a vulnerable Sylvia and the strong Braxton who both had their own issues but between them, they were able to move past them and solve everything. I loved the relationship between them and the way that Braxton tried his best to give her the time to think about things and get used to it, and the way that Braxton did what he needed to do in order to protect her. There was a bit of a surprise at the end which I loved. Well written and easy to read and understand. Contains some explicit sexual xontent.
**I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book**
Sylvia has carried guilt over the death of her fiance for the past 2 years. She's become a shut-in, afraid of her own shadow. Her only saving grace is Noah taking a chance on her and giving her the opportunity to design for his video games. When Noah requests she go to present the beta of the game at a con she's forced out of her comfort zone and required to allow a stranger to protect her.
Braxton has been forced to take medical leave from his SEAL's team. Feeling itchy in his own skin and aggression, worrying his team he might go rogue he's determined to make the most of his leave. When his mother requests he go see Gerri to do a favor he figures knock out two birds with one stone and ask Gerri to help him find his mate.
From the minutes he sees Sylvia he knows she is his mate. But convincing her of that will be this SEAL's most difficult mission to date.
I wish the author would've given us an epilogue where Sylvia confronts her parents for hiding the big secret from her.
Sylvia designed video games for a living, and her last one had the Navy Seal of her dreams in it. Not one for being out in the public, she is asked to unveil the latest game at a convention. After some email threats, her boss Noah , get her a body guard. When she opens the door to let him in her reaction is priceless! Not one to give away too much, I can tell you this is a fun, quick read that you will for sure enjoy!
3.5 stars I'm not going to lie, I have a thing for Tex. The way he was written in the story seemed off to me. The h got on my nerves a bit. It wasn't a bad story at all. Just a few things that happened is not my personal preference.
Sylvia met Braxton when Ted set them up, he told Braxton she needed a bodyguard. Braxton took one look at her and knew he had found his mate. She was supposed to give the game roll out in Las Vegas. She was having hot flashes and needed Braxton.
