تتميز اعمال "راى برادبورى" بالتنوع الكبير، وهو عموما يكتب قصصا قصيرة من نوعيات متباينة: قصص الحياة العادية قصص الاضطرابات النفسية العميقة والمروعة قصص الطفال قصص رحلات الفضاء التى تتميز بالرعب والمرح أو الخيال قصص الغموض والأسرار التى تنطوى على توجيه أخلاقى أو شرح موضوعات غيبية أو خارقة.
أما عن الخيال العلمى، فلا شك أن حماس "برادبورى" له يغزو عالم المستقبل ذاته، فهو يشعر بأنه مطالب بتحذير الناس من أية كورث محتملة، وبث الرغبة فى تحقيق المجد والفخر، ما دام ذلك فى الإمكان.
يماثل أسلوب "برادبورى" أسلوب الشعر، إذ يتسم بالدقة فى اختيار الأسلوب والصور؛ والبلاغة والتنميق.

Bradbury is best known for his novel Fahrenheit 451 (1953) and his short-story collections The Martian Chronicles (1950), The Illustrated Man (1951), and The October Country (1955). قصص هذا الجزء من أفضل القصص ف الأجزاء الثمانية

أكثر القصص التي أعجبتني في المجموعة:
1. لعبة أكتوبر: من أمتع قصص الرعب التي قرأتها من حيث صدمتها.
2. عقاب بلا جريمة: شركة تصنع لك شبيهًا بشخص تبغضه لتقتله، لكن هل يسمح القانون بذلك.
3. قطعة من الخشب: مخترع يخترع جهازًا صغيرًا يجعل كل الأسلحة الحديدية تصدأ على مسافة 900 ميل.
اقتباسات:
"سوف يتسلحون في أسرع وقت ممكن"، "ماذا لو أمكن إيقافهم؟"، "إذن سوف يضربون بعضهم بعضًا ويتصارعون بقبضات إيديهم المجرّدة. وإذا وصل الأمر إلى هذا الحد سوف تكون هناك جيوش من رجال يرتدون قفازات الملاكمة مزودة بأطراف مستدقة من الصلب..." ص53

هذا الجزء تحديدا يحتوى على بعض أفضل قصص برادبوري، ربما أفضل جزء من أجزاء المجلد الثاني.
