Yuyuko Takemiya (竹宮 ゆゆこ Takemiya Yuyuko) is a Japanese writer of light novels. Takemiya debuted in September 2004 with her light novel series Watashitachi no Tamura-kun (Our Tamura-kun) which first appeared in the autumn 2004 issue of Dengeki hp Special, a special edition version of Dengeki hp. That same month, Takemiya worked on the scenario for the bishōjo game Noel by FlyingShine (also known for creating Cross Channel).
Following the completion of Watashitachi no Tamura-kun, Takemiya began her best-known series, Toradora!, which she declared to be complete in April 2010 after ten volumes and three spin-off books. The first book of her next series, Golden Time, was Dengeki Bunko's 2000th published light novel. Takemiya launched the manga series Evergreen with artist Akira Kasukabe on July 19, 2011 in ASCII Media Works' Dengeki Daioh Genesis quarterly magazine.
We get the great pool sequence. I always loved that moment in the anime and it was done well in the manga. The next volume is set up to be the summer vacation arc and I am curious how engaging it will be in the manga. This continues to be a very good adaptation and I love enjoying this story again.
This is a comedown from previous installments. While the series took three volumes to cover the first two novels, this one squeezes the bulk of the third book into a single volume, and in doing so it loses its faithfulness to the source material. A number of great jokes got cut -- Ami telling Taiga she should wear a little girl's swimsuit, Taiga's reaction to the betting pool -- but more importantly parts of the plot were rewritten in ways that don't entirely make sense. For example, in the novel Minori decides Taiga and Ami should settle their argument through a sports competition then makes them draw lots to choose the game. In this manga, however, Taiga proposes a martial arts challenge while Ami suggests swimming, and Minori takes Ami's side even though she knows Taiga can't swim. It's even worse at the end of the book (which covers the beginning of the fourth novel) -- the whole bit with Taiga and Ryuuji having the same nightmare is gone, as is their planning for the trip. We just jump straight into the vacation and see that Taiga's trying to help Ryuuji with Minori; but without the scene where they decide who'll help whom, it's completely out of character for Taiga.
the female lead has started to show some interest and care so openly towards the male lead. the male lead notices but she quickly diverts it so she makes sure she meant it in a master and a dog type of way.the male lead contemplates his feeling whether he just likes the female lead or if he likes her like love wisely. They are soo god damn cuteee and give off so much couple vibes.the fl had to win a competition against a love rivalry in swimming, the fl doen't know how to swim and she is willing to learn for the ml.because if she lost the ml has to go on a summer holiday vacation with the love rivalry. so the ml teaches fl how to swim but she lost because the ml gets knocked out by accident in the pool during the competition so the fl had to swim to the ml to save him.she said"nobody touch him .he's mine"

Another fun issue that finds the gang dealing with swim class, a nightmare for Taiga who has body issues over not being a 'endowed' as her classmates. Yuyuko Takemiya delivers another fun issue that focuses on classic high school drama, this not being as attractive as your fellow classmates, at least in yours and their opinion. While Takemiya gives a humorous take on it, especially with the lengths Ryuuji goes to help Taiga, it is also pointed on how fickle teenagers and kids can be (the point of the class is to teach water safety, but all the kids want to do is stare at each other). Zekkyo's art is remains nicely cartoony, balancing the high jinks of the series along with the more serious moments. Overall, one of the best high school/manga comics in recent memory.
Unlike the anime, I don't understand the need for most of the changes made to the original story here. Some of them are completely out of character and change the relationship dynamics. If Taiga was secure and trusting enough at this point to directly come out and share her body image issues, it would not make sense for the romance to be as slow burn as it ends up being. They could totally get together right now if she already understands consciously that they are indeed this close. Also, the art makes it a bit hard to understand the action taking place. If I didn't already know 2 other versions of this story, I would not have understood what was going on most of the time.
I would definitely recommend this book. I think it was another good addition to the series. I really liked how Ami is actually getting pretty involved and actually hanging out with the group rather than just having her not change at all and just be the exact same as she was when she was first introduced to the reader. I did feel like towards the end it was a little bit harder to follow along and I don't know if that was just me or not. But like I said earlier I believe that it was a good addition and all even though it had its negatives overall I still liked it.
Vedremo...
Five out of five purely because of the giggles and facepalms. And for the main pair, of course. I can't get enough of this manga, it's so relaxing to read and enjoy.
There are still five main characters plus Ryuuji's mom. Three are girls and two are boys; that doesn't really qualify as a harem story. This seemed to be a setup for the following volume.
