Enchanted Falls Trilogy #3

Falling for the Chieftain

Rate this book
Fate reaches across time to bring them together. Can love bridge their differences?

Allison Sutton isn’t the sort to take risks. She’s a nurse, so she’s seen exactly where risk-taking can lead. But she leaves her comfort zone to visit Scotland with her sisters, and then takes a further leap of faith when one of them insists they jump from a waterfall that’s supposedly enchanted. To her amazement, the jump brings her back in time, to the fourteenth century, and she comes face to face with a strapping Highlander who looks as if he’s stepped out of her fantasies.

After his brother betrayed him, Brann MacKay has gone out of his way to display his prowess. Which makes it all the more embarrassing when he saves a slip of a lass from a crowd of men, only to earn a kick to the bollocks for his efforts. Even so, Brann is taken with the brash beauty. Allison is like no lass he’s ever met, and he quickly realizes why. She emerged from the enchanted pool on his land. She wishes to return to her own world, but her knowledge of healing makes her indispensable to his people—and he quickly realizes she is indispensable to him.

Being with Brann makes Allison reconsider her stance on risks, but can a modern woman be happy with a medieval man?

This is the third in the Enchanted Falls Trilogy.

The Enchanted Falls Trilogy follows three sisters as they find love after falling through time. Each book can be read as a stand-alone, but the stories are linked.

Wow. Just wow. Turning the last page made me have so many thoughts to put down!!! The last sister in this wonderful trilogy, Allison, lands in 14th century Scotland after jumping into a waterfall in modern day Scotland with her two sisters. When she finds herself surrounded by a group of men, Allison is saved by Brann, Clan Chieftain. When she saw Brann her thoughts were "Braw, wasn't that how they said it in Scotland? Aye he was one braw man, handsome as the devil with his one dimple and his ridiculous muscles."
I just loved this story and seeing how the attraction developed between the two! There is humor, suspense, betrayals and strong emotions that develops.. Literally I read it in one sitting. I could not put it down and just had a grin on my face as everything came together.
Do not miss this book or the other two in the series!! I have to try to find that fairy pool though and hope to wake up in Scotland!!

This is the third book and the series (Enchanted Falls trilogy) and I was a little disappointed in it. I have been reading Ms Monclairs books for some time now and love how she brings the characters and time to life and keeps you sitting on the edge of your seat. This book had all the makings of her usual writing and did give you the suspense, intrigue and back ground to the time period but what I didn’t like was the main focus of the story was sex. From the moment they meet that is all that was on their minds. But in saying that, there was still a lot going on that kept me turning the page. I enjoyed the different strengths that each sister brought to this time period and the different problems that each of the men had to deal with. It was a good ending to a great series and hope that maybe these three authors and write another time travel series. It was such a great idea. These books are a little hard to read as a standalone as you will want to know what happens next. I received this book as an ARC.

So I'm oddly disappointed in this ending.

Yes I'm very happy the sisters are reunited, but we all knew that was coming. But no epilogue to tell us how they are? No inkling of what their futures looked like?

And this book was shorter than the other two. Less than 200 pages.

Allison Sutton
Brann MacKay

Present day and 1394 Scotland

This is the final and third book in this time-travel-trilogy series. Nurse, Allison Sutton, due to past experiences is not the type to expose herself to danger or jeopardy. Yet her sisters wanted to vacation in Scotland. She agreed wanting to be a team player and enjoy this holiday with her sisters. This travel to the United Kingdom was daring enough, yet jumping in a waterfall rumored to be enchanted was really over the top for Allison. Could this be the well known fairy pools in Skye? Especially for a woman who tried to stay in her safety zone and not take chances.

However this is exactly what happens. Allison ends up in fourteenth century Scotland, with no life jacket to hang on to! On top of this, a bunch of strangely dressed highland men gawking at her, as if they had never seen a female before! Of course as they try to approach her she goes on defense ready to protect herself. Especially when they think she is a prostitute from her manner of modest 21st century dress.

Laird Brann MacKay is still furious his brother stole and married his betrothed. He didn’t love his former betrothed but it was a marriage contract arranged by their father since they were children. He now won’t even acknowledge his traitor brother now. So Brann is always trying to show off his muscular strength. He proves he is the strongest man of the clan with a contests of skills that no one can beat . That is until the most beautiful lass he ever saw with a strange accent (thank God it’s not English)! She just bested him in front of everyone, by kicking him in his bollocks and bringing him to his knees. Totally humiliating for a braw man like Chieftain Brann MacKay!

Allison finds Brann a man right out of all the Scottish romance books she loves to read! He is the complete package! As he’s totally swoon and drool worthy with his glistening bulging muscles and the most beautiful green eyes she has ever seen!

Yet she is determined to return to her own time. Once Brann sees she’s a talented healer he refuses to let her go. As is it is essential to his clan to have a healer with Allison’s futuristic abilities. She could heal so many in his clan with her knowledge and abilities not to mention being the bonniest lass he’s ever seen. He simply can’t release her. Of course than one thing runs into another and we watch how this perfect couple falls in love. Yet they have many differences too. Can a career minded, twenty- first century, woman, in fourteenth century medieval Scotland, choose love over security of a career and all the safeties of her own time. Does love conquer all? Read this fabulous book and find out!

This is the final ending of the last book in the epic Enchanted Falls trilogy. It is the first one I have read. It is easy to follow so you can read as a stand alone book. Of course you can read Emma Prince and Cecelia Mecca’s books in series order too. As I hear they are all connected. This was a joint author effort series and beautifully done. A wonderful time-travel that was absolutely delightful from start to finish.

Allison Sutton never expected to find herself in 14th century Scotland. As a nurse, she’s not a risk taker. But, while on holiday in Scotland with her sisters, she takes a leap of faith with them over a waterfall that locals say is enchanted. And, the rest is history . . .

Brann Mackay never planned on giving his heart away after his betrothed marries his brother again. When he’s literally knocked off his feet by a swift kick to his bollocks by the woman he finds himself trying to rescue from a crowd, he knows he’s met his match.

Allison is like no woman Brann has ever met, and he quickly realizes why. She’s an extremely strong woman as she tries to adjust to a new world, yet easily gives her heart to Brann and those he loves. And, Brann can’t help but to fall for the beautiful and feisty woman that doesn’t belong in his time.

As Brann begins depending on Allison more and more, as does his clan, he realizes he loves her enough to give her up so she can return home if that’s what makes her happy. Allison begins to realize, however, that she’s never put her own needs and wants first in life . . . and maybe for the first time, she can.

Sometimes you don’t know what you are missing until you are put into a situation where you have the chance to have it, and I love how the author really brought that to life with this book!

Falling for the Chieftain was a fun take on both time travel and historical romance. It’s a light hearted read with enough depth to make it feel intense and emotional as these lovers come to terms with dealing with their pasts and the possibility of a future together. I also have to say that the ending was simply spectacular. 5 stars!

Full of unreasonable lines.
1) The H embraced the h's time travel story without any doubt...
2) The h took out a condom as she and the H about to had sex second time... And again, the H accepted it.
3) The h lost everything but still carried with her condom(s) after her jumping off the falls.
This book is more like a CR than a HR.

This is an OK time travel romance, with a likable couple, but they fell in love much too quickly for me to believe. This book gets 3.5 stars from me, rounded down to 3 stars.

I liked Allison, but thought she adapted to her time travel way to easily. She would have been much more freaked out by it than she was, and would have missed more things from her modern life. I also thought it was a little ridiculous that she was constantly lusting after Brann -- when most women would have spent all their time trying to figure out how to get home.

I also liked Brann, but it bothered me that he was so determined not to forgive his brother. No spoilers, and what his brother did was bad -- but not bad enough for Brann to almost let him die. I did like that Brann believed Allison because of what his father told him about his mother. It gave him a good reason to believe she was from the future, since his father told him his mother was from another place, too. I also loved how funny he was when she showed him how the condoms worked, and what he called them.

My main issue with the story, though, was that they fell in love way too quickly to believe. Their cultures were so different, and I think it would have taken them both a lot longer to adjust to each other. Instead, they lusted after each other right away, and were in love in only a few weeks? I just didn't believe it.

My rating system is below.
1 star -- Hated it, or did not finish. I usually only give this rating if some of the content is truly objectionable to me, like if one of the main characters does something really awful, and gets away with it.
2 stars -- Didn't like it. This rating usually means that I thought the writing wasn't very good, the editing was terrible, I didn't like the characters, or it had other major flaws.
3 stars -- I liked it, but had some minor issues with it. This rating means that there were minor editing issues, the story needed more character development, it was just too unrealistic, or had some other fairly minor issue. The majority of books I read get this rating – I do not consider it a bad rating.
4 stars -- I liked it a lot. This is a high rating for me, and I rarely give a higher one.
5 stars -- I loved it, and will probably read it again. Very few books are good enough to get this rating from me. The ones that do are usually classics.

This included one of my favorite plot lines (story lines?): FMCs who are thrown back in time and use their 21st Century knowledge to help and/or save the MMC’s clan. We get to see Allie’s nursing skills save the day on more than one occasion. Unfortunately, it didn’t matter how many times she came to the rescue, nothing could compensate for her reckless behavior in all other regards.

She didn't seem to grasp the concept that behaving like a woman from the 21st century was incredibly dangerous. Instead, she would constantly justify her actions as being acceptable/normal from when and where she’s from, completely disregarding the fact that she’s in the 14th century where said actions are not acceptable/normal, and could result in things like kidnappings or war.

The time-travel storyline was a little too convenient in that: a) the FMC had read time-travel romance books before, so she almost immediately knew and accepted that she traveled to the past, and b) the MMC immediately believed the FMC that she was from the future because his father warned him right before he died that the faerie pool on their land was a portal connected to “a land in the future”, and that not only had his mother come from it, but that another women would come through [FMC] and that it would be his responsibility to protect her.

A Fantastic ending to an awesome trilogy!!

Allison Sutton is a Registered Nurse on a mission....to find her way home after falling through a waterfall and coming up into 14th century Scotland. After running into and nearly being accosted by a group of rowdy, strangely dressed men, one man, Brann MacKay, steps forth from the crowd to help and in doing so changes both of their lives forever!

Falling for the Chieftain is an absolute joy to read! It’s romantic, emotional, witty, fun and funny! I laughed a great deal throughout the book especially at the end...which still has me giggling every time I think about it!

Keira Montclair has done a brilliant job wrapping up the Enchanted Falls series! Her dedication to her delightful characters and surprising plot twists kept me turning page after page! Her main characters are absolutely dreamy and her supporting characters are unforgettable....especially Smokey!

After finally finishing the series I can say without a doubt that I would love to see all three authors collaborate again in the future. Emma Prince, Cecelia Mecca and Keira Montclair not only continue to prove their skills as exceptional romance writers, but their dedication to detail and their ability to work so well together gave this series a genuine fluidity that is truly enchanting! Five stars just isn’t enough!

It was charming and hilarious!

I've waited for the third book to come out after I read the second of the series. And this one surely did not disappoint.

The story made me laugh out loud at a lot of scenes. The chemistry between the two main couple was really cute and it kept me engaged. I even loved the hero's interaction with his little brother.

Allison and Brann, they had quite the interesting relationship as they grew within the story! There was even one scene between them and that even had me teary-eyed. And of course the ending was so satisfying and had me laughing out loud as well!

Wow, I encourage these authors to write together again. I really loved reading each and every book. I would highly read any more books at the authors can come up with if they work together again. I have found some new Authors to follow and enjoyed the series that they worked on together! Thank you all for the remarkable journeys of the American lasses finding love in medieval Scotland!

Falling for the Chieftain

The following are my thoughts as I read this book. Allison Sutton…an American, transported back to the 1300s, wants to find her sisters. Breannainn MacKay…nicknamed Black Brann, Laird of Clan MacKay, has a clue about Leannan Falls tale. LOL, the h is not a helpless woman, in fact she can adequately defend herself. Oh the H has had a bad experience with a woman, so he does not trust women. The h is just like her sister and does not listen closely when the H tells her not to do something, now she has drawn unnecessary attention to herself. Oh I just adore the H, he is so gruff and sweet at the same time. Best line “That would make them look like bairns.”, LOL the H is hilarious. Oh my the h has a stalker and they really want her. Oh the H really is a true hero. Yes it’s HEA! This is the final book in the Enchanted Falls Trilogy series and I would highly recommend reading book one and two. Yes there is steam.

Wow 😮. Loved the characters, and stories in this trilogy but Falling for the Chiefdom was especially good since it was the last in the series to wrap up the saga of 3 modern day sisters who jump into a magical Fairy pool and end up in medieval Scotland.
In this book Allison is saved from Highlanders trying to capture her. Black Bran is the Clan Chieftain. He is a very Handsome, a good strong warrior as well as He is protective of his family, Clann but especially Allison. Here they both found a deep love. She was feisty and argumentative but had a soft side as any nurse would have. She found her skills were needed in medieval Scotland. She also fell in love with the Chieftain. She was torn between staying with the man she loved and finding her sisters. But all ends well, happily ever after. Lot is laughter, joy, sadness, only one big battle. Great Love Stories for the ages.

A story you can enjoy from beginning to end

A definite 5 stars, enjoyed the journey from start to finish. I completely fell in Love with Brann. He is the man of my dreams, a Braw, honest, loyal, tender, all around good Scottish man, and with a great sense of humor. She is brave, kind, sweet, feisty, woman, also with a great sense of humor. They had perfect chemistry. Story ran me through the gamut of emotions. I could not put it down. It even had a touch of magic. The tender Love scenes were superb. It was a very different type story from this author, but as usual, she did not disappoint, I loved it. My advice is to read trilogy in order, you will enjoy more. I only hope this trio of authors will work together again. I highly recommend.

Finally, the 3 sisters are reunited. We get about two pages of the there reunion and that's it. No epilog nothing to tells how they live in the 14th century with there Highland husbands and family. Just nothing after waiting and reading 3 stories.

I did like Allison and Brann MacKay story better than the first 2 stories. It had a more cohesive storyline with some well written erotic sex scenes. So action scenes to give the story some depth. But what I didn't like was Allsion and Brann got together a little too quickly.

If put in the hands of a really good author this story could have been really good!! But No three authors just didn't do the trick.!!

I really feel like I wasted my time reading this series!

I have read all 3 books in this series by Emma Prince, Cecelia Mecca and Keira Montclair and I absolutely LOVED all 3!!! My first love is historical romance, especially when it takes place in the Highlands and my second love is time travel so when you put the two of them together, you get a book that you just can't put down. I really enjoyed the concept of these books that sees three sisters travel back in time and finding their HEA. This is the third and final book of the series and wow, it's fabulous!! Allison and Brann's story was soooo good, a real page turner. The ending had me crying happy tears and heaving a huge sigh:)

Out of the 3 in this series, this is my favorite. The name the Chieftain used for condoms had me cracking up. Allison finds herself in the highlands after falling in the pool with her sisters. She's determined to find them, but she's fallen in love with Brann the Cheif of Clan McKay. She tries to bridge the gap with his brother. And the mysterious man who keeps kidnapping her or tries to. A really great story with betrayals, love, fighting and trying to stay alive. Being a nurse her skills come in quite handy.

Light and entertaining

Last in the three book series, this book had a little more to it. The addition of the Sam seemed a bit unnecessary but was maybe to prove the girls could go back, they had a choice. Finally a book where the females are not all innocent virgins or the wicked other woman. But still while I enjoyed the series, it was all too easy. They fit in and were accepted, the guys they choose bathe all the time, they all find clothes that fit and someone to help them, etc

This is the third book in the Enchanted Falls Trilogy, and it is my favorite!
I love Allie and Brann's story. There were times I was laughing out loud at some of the things that happen between the two of them. The characters are easy to like and follow. Some strange things happen that leave you wanting to read "just one more chapter", and the next thing you know it is 1am and your finishing the book! Whenever I am up that late to read, it is a sign of a good book for me.
I will definitely be looking into other books by this author.

Great

This is the last of this trilogy. It's about Allie and Brann . She was the middle sister who jumped with her sisters from the top of a waterfall in modern day Scotland only to pop up in the past. She starts walking until she comes across a group of men who try to grab her. When Brann comes to her rescue, she protects herself in the way most women would. The rest of the story is just as exciting. Though each of the three books were written by different people, it is easy to allow your mind's eye to enjoy it as a whole. Loved it.

Disappointing ending

After reading all 3 books, I was hoping for a better ending. Did the three clans the Sutton girls end up with become allies? Whatever happened to Callums second? Is he still locked in the tower? However, I did enjoy the storyline, I thought it was very creative and interesting. I would have liked to see more of that creativity threaded through the sisters stories, even if it made for a longer read I feel it would have been worth it. I felt like the trilogy seemed rushed.

Aahh Allison and Brans story is something to swoon over for sure. After Allison and her sisters go on vacation and jump into the falls they are each transported back into time that is definitely not their own. And she meets the Highlander Brann Makay. There instant chemistry between them. And with Allison being a nurse she knows a thing or two and becomes important to Brann as she can help his people. This book is steamy and will keep you flipping until the very end. I love a good time travel romance and this is one you need on your shelves.

An absolutely must Read

This is the third book in the trilogy. Three wonderful books. Other people tell you the story I’m going to tell you the emotions. Fabulous characters. This is the only book I reviewed because I was so excited I had to get the other books immediately. Talk about strong characters. Talk about tears and joy. You get it all. Do not miss a wonderful trilogy. And the sex oh my God, wonderful hold onto your hat sex.

Allie meets Black Brann

Allison Sutton, who leapt from Leannan Falls with her sisters, emerged on MacKay land. When Brann MacKay tried to catch her, she sent him to his knees with a well-aimed kick.

I really enjoyed Books 1 and 2, but I was disappointed in Book 3. First of all, I didn't like Allie. She was rude, crude and lewd. Her uncontrollable mouth put other lives at risk. Although she was in 1394 Scotland , she expected her modern rules to apply. And then there was her endless quest for hot sex. At times I thought she must be completely stupid. She heeded no warnings about the dangers all around her, so someone had to always be on hand to rescue her.

Great book!

This book was a great ending to an amazing series. I absolutely loved Allison's character. She was such a headstrong, force of nature and I loved how she took charge when it came to helping the people she cared about. The chemistry between her and Brann was incredible. This book was so entertaining, I couldn't put it down, and the ending was so fun and light. It was the perfect way to end this series. I look forward to reading more from this author.

Three great Time Travelers

These three books were so entertaining. Each of the three books were written by different authors, and yet .......the continuity was flawless. Three sisters and three BRAW Lads, find the loves of their lives.......coming from different centuries. I would recommend this series...........it has a touch of Dianna Gabledon’s .......OUTLANDER . And WHO DOESN’T LOVE.......OUTLANDER? NOT ME!

Falling for the Chieftan

This is the third book regarding three sisters from the twenty first century who jump into a waterfall and each of them come up in the same timescale which is the fourteenth century, but in different areas. Their longing is to find one another. I loved reading these books so much i bought the audible versions of them. Well done to the three authors who wrote the three stories.

Painfully bad.

This story seemed rushed and poorly edited. There were several instances where the plot became muddled and the characters repeated themselves. Even the main character's name was not consistent, though her nickname was Ally, she was also Allison one minute and Alice the next. Whatever her name was, the authors attempts at ensuring she appeared modern only resulted in her being brash and unlikable. Definitely the worst of the series.

Falling for the Chieftain (Enchanted Falls Trilogy, Book 3)

Sugar, spice and everything nice is NOT what the fiery Allie is made of! ;-) I have thoroughly enjoyed this trilogy. A totally different take on time travel and the concept of soulmates. I've read Ms. Montclair before! If she wrote it, it's great!

This is not a clean romance. I would highly recommend this for anyone who likes steamy and is an adult.
