The Krinar World

Krinar Solace

Rate this book
When young Krinar scientist Tomek’s forest experiment goes horribly wrong, he crashes under a tree. Badly wounded in the accident, he’s found by mushroom hunter Keziah Roark, who doesn’t recognize him as an alien male. She attempts to drive him to a hospital, assuming he is a fellow hunter, but he refuses to go before losing consciousness. Following the independent code of the circuit pickers, she nurses him in her Washington State cabin in the hopes he’ll recover his memory as he heals.

After Tomek wakes, he knows nothing but hunger for the delicious female he assumes is his mate. Keziah is a virgin but is too aroused to resist the darkly sexy male. Taking him to Ellet, the Krinar’s human biology expert, for medical attention, seems the right thing for Keziah to do, but the consequences of learning Tomek isn’t human might break both their hearts.

Wow. I am sitting here after reading this ARC and with tears and happiness.

I want to Say a big Thank You to the author. Thank you for seeing Keziah’s beauty.

I am so impressed and happy with how she wrote Keziah. I have never seen or even read where a main character had autism. I can say that I want to thank her mostly though for not portraying her as broken. She didn’t feel the need to fix her. She left her perfect.

My youngest son has Autism. So many people want to tell us every trick in the book to fix him. I wish they could see that he is perfect and the way he is supposed to be. Just like this Author’s Keziah.

I loved this book!!! Thank you for sending me the ARC!

4 Stars for Krinar Solace

For Keziah Roark, life is no different post-Krinar Invasion. She is that shy awkward girl she’s always been. She knows her strengths and limitations. She is also very thankful for her cousin who has brought her along to scour the forest floor for mushrooms. Times are tough during an economy that is downtrodden by the Krinar. Keziah’s town has been crippled by the intervention of this invading alien race, but for Keziah, this is just another fact of life, no better, no worse.

On one of Keziah’s mushroom hunts she finds the body of a young man who has been injured. She is immediately fascinated by this young man and is insistent on helping him. Keziah deduces that the stranger is a fellow forager and must have kin near by that are looking for him.
When the young man becomes conscious his actions and loss of memory confuse Keziah and she is invested in helping him find any clues to his identity.

Ms. Hiestand’s Krinar World novella fascinated me. Reading about a character who is autistic and has had to deal her whole life with judgment from others really created such depth to Keziah’s story with the young man. Keziah is no stranger to adversity and being exploited, so when Tomek is left in her charge not only is she serious in her care of him, she also is sensitive to how vulnerable he is due to his memory loss. I love how this story unfolds and the young man’s adoration of Keziah. I want to delve into this, but it’s the kind of read that you want to experience.

If you love the Krinar World you will not be disappointed with Keziah and Tomek’s novella. It starts off sensual and deepens with every new discovery.

Thank you Heather Hiestand for writing such a great story and making this such an enjoyable read! Krinar Solace is an awesome addition to the Krinar World!

This ARC was provided to me, all options shared here are my own.

I highly recommend this novella to anyone who craves a great Krinar love story. Check this out:

*** “She’s fine the way she is,” Tomek said. “I don’t want to change her. She’s wonderful.” ***

And that, friends, is how every alpha mate should feel, right? You’ll love this!

Wonderful and original...

This was such an interesting premise; I was totally caught up in the story of Kessiah and Tomek.. and their chance encounter...

Kesiah and her cousin are hunter/gatherers in the Krinar new world order; I loved the idea of humans making a successful business out of something we have been doing for millennia....both Kesiah and Tomek have their own challenges, and bought together by fate they have an opportunity to find solace in each other, but the path to their happy ever after is littered with external and internal obstacles..... I can say no more because to do so would likely ruin the plot....

Another wonderful Krinar world 4.5 star novella, which I devoured in one sitting......I received an advanced copy of this book from the author.

I am so in love with the Krinar World books. I really enjoyed reading Krinar Solace, Heather Hiestand second novel set in the Krinar World. It has a wonderful storyline and I found that her writing gives you a visual of their world and it almost feels like you are there. I found her characters Tomek and Keziah very compelling and I enjoyed reading their story.

Tomek is young man in Krinar standards and Keziah is socially awkward young girl, together they find themselves while falling in love. They embodied compassion, protective instincts, loving and acceptance for who they are.

I hope Heather Hiestand writes another Krinar World novel soon. I highly recommend this book to everyone, it has a great story, fantastic characters and a powerful romance.

Tomek is a young Krinar scientist, who has an accident in the forest, during one of his experiments. Keziah finds him and, without realising he is an alien, takes him back to her hotel room to help him. Tomek has lost his memory, but he is certain of one thing, that Keziah belongs to him. Their attraction is undeniable but when Keziah discovers the truth about Tomek, will they be able to stay together, or will the fact that they come from different worlds tear them apart? A passionate story of love and acceptance! Tomek and Keziah are different but they are perfect for each other! I love that Tomek wants Keziah just the way she is! An amazing love story!

Hiestand makes a refreshing, bold choice in this Krinar world installment by featuring an autistic female protagonist. I haven't seen this done before and I thought it was simply brilliant!! I enjoyed seeing Tomek and Keziah's love for one another transcend the odds stacked between them—from Tomek's memory lapse issues to the interferences of others intent on keeping them apart. Well done!

A Couple Comes Together Despite the Good Intentions of Everyone Else

Krinar Solace, By Heather Hiestand

I’m having a hard time reviewing this book without spoilers. The events are so compelling that I just want to talk about them.
At one point I got very annoyed with a Certain Human Biology Expert, But even she redeemed herself in the end.
This is wonderful story. You will feel these characters along every step of their journey and cheer for them at end.
You will probably wish for a sequel though. like I do.

Good read

This book is set in the Krinar World. The Krinar influenced the evolution of humans a very long time ago and have now come to Earth to live amongst them.

Keziah is a mushroom hunter and finds Tomek in the forest where she and her cousin Jesse were hunting mushrooms. Once Tomek regains consciousness, he does not remember who he is or why he was in the forest, he only knows his hunger for the little human female that has been caring for him.

Keziah decides to take Tomek to a Krinar conference where she knows a Krinar doctor is attending in order to help Tomek regain his memories. When she leaves him with his own people she doesn't really expect to see him again.

Tomek, however, cannot get his little human female out of his mind. He knows that she is his and wants to spend his life with her. Will be be able to convince her they belong together forever?

This Krinar World novella was well-written and I loved that it was set in my home state - it is always fun to read towns and places you know in real life. I liked that the heroine has autism (the formerly known as Asperger's variety), though this is not delved too deeply into as this is a novella. The main conflict of the story centers around the hero is a Krinar male (though they are not positive of that at first) who may be injured or ill and as a result has amnesia, and all of the complications of that. Though amnesia storylines are generally something I don't like to read about, I did think it was interestingly done here. It was nice to see the character Ellet again (does she have her own story yet?) and I found the heroine's occupation very interesting in this post-Krinar invasion America. The ending seemed a bit rushed compared to the pacing of the rest of the novella but it does wrap up nicely for the couple.
I received an ARC of this novella and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Tomek, keziah

I found this book another enjoyable delve into the Krinar world. Before reading about the Krinars as a race you need to know they believe they're far superior to us in every way, and yes they are but humanity has its own benefit!

Tomek doesn't come across as typically K when we meet him, his vunerable and Keziah is there to offer him help.

Tomek and Keziahs first physical activity is hot, it's a sensory assumption from Tomek and a vivid dream for Keziah, well to begin with then it's just full on both going for it!

Having Asd kids, I found Keziah being Aspie very interesting, just the small things that were added made her a more rounded characther.

I enjoyed this book, yes Tomek turns a bit more alpha later in the book but he retains a sweetness and you can't help but like him.

Mushroom hunter Keziah Roark finds an unconscious man in the woods and takes him back to her cabin to recover. The man is tall and movie star handsome, and although Keziah knows he'd never desire her, wouldn't it be great to be held and cared for by someone like him? Krinar scientist Tomek wakes up in a strange bed next to a beautiful young human female and starts kissing her. Things really heat up when the human wakes up and nothing has felt so good. Tomek tells his little human “You’re made for me. All mine.” before they fall asleep. But when Tomek wakes up the next morning, he can't remember a thing. And he keeps on losing his memory. So Keziah takes Tomek to Ellet, the Krinar’s human biology expert, to find out if he's a K. Ellet takes Tomek to her suite to heal him, then returns to Keziah to let her know, and tells her "You are better off, you know, sticking with your own kind." Is this the end for Keziah and Tomek?

Heather Hiestand delivers an angsty, sweet and steamy story that will suck you in

This story is about a girl named Keziah. She's a mushroom picker and one day she finds an injured man in the woods. Not wanting to leave him there she takes him home and they have wild sex. She and the mystery men then discover that his memory doesn't work. He doesn't remember who he is and usually forgets things quickly like their night of passion. Keziah discovers that he's a krinar and takes him to get help with his people. Keziah thinks she will never see him again and the K badly wants her so he does what any K would do and takes he as his Charl. It's a very nice and romantic ending. I enjoyed reading this book.

I was given a free copy of this book for an honest review and I was thoroughly impressed.

I felt the story was true to the Krinar dynamic. The characters were a little unusual, however that added to the book and made it a little different to the rest of the books set in then Krinar world. I really enjoyed the characters and reading about their struggles. I felt the pace of this book was perfect, and the discriptions were well written and easy to imagine. All in all a very good read and addition to the Krinar world.

A new take on a K

When the injured K (Krinar) wakes up his amnesia is so great, he doesn't even know he's an alien! This is the most human a K has ever acted.
After his first night with Keziah, he doesn't even remember it the next day.
Being such a short novella, it is hard to say much about the story. But it is well written, and a unique perspective on K and human relationships.
BTW, beware the long review. Like some movie trailers, they can expose more of the story than they should, for example, some of the reviews of this book.

Love Krinar books.

I love any story about the Krinar. They are always super sexy, with over the top dominant men who find their women and never let them go. I would recommend this book to anyone.

Short and Inclusive

I liked that the author gave us a story that hasn't the prerequisite of a "normal" person's brain function.

This novella incorporated a heroine with Asperger Syndrome and got an under Krinar.

Really good book, the fact that Romek the male krinar love Keziah just the way she is, the fact that for him she's perfect. I just love it. An unusual book by having one of the main character that has aspergers. It really nice that the author write about that not well know syndrome. I recommend that book 100%.

A good read

Love the story line and the acknowledgement of youth in the overall story of the Krinarens. Also the deeper importance of the human wife.

A good portrayal of a main character with autism. She is not broken, she is perfect the way she is and Tomek can see that. Their relationship develops nicely. The world of hunters for mushrooms and other natural growing foods is an interesting subculture to explore and very much fits in with the Krinar lifestyle.

I was a bit surprised about Ellet. She was a sympathetic character in the Mia and Korum books. I can kind of see her being fascinated by the chance to study Keziah's condition because it is something new to her. She doesn't realize she is being offensive, maybe. But I was surprised that she was so dismissive of Keziah when Keziah brought Tomek to her to be healed. She was rude and cruel.
