Is there any better time than summer vacation to review a book titled Too Blessed To Be Stressed For Moms?! 🤣This book came along at the right time for me. Don't you just love when that happens?! ♥️ Too Blessed To Be Stressed is full of insight, encouragement, scripture, and laugh out loud humor that is a breath of fresh air for weary moms. There is something for every mom found here- from practical encouragement for things like finding balance and time management, to emotional encouragement in letting go of mom guilt and developing a thankful lifestyle. Debora Coty has a witty way of writing a la Jen Hatmaker that makes you feel like you are curled up on the couch with your girlfriend and a cup of coffee. I wish this book had been around when my kids were younger and I was knee deep in the trenches! Motherhood is a blessing and this book gently reminds you of that fact, helps you to find the blessings in the mundane, and is a reminder that God is walking right there with you. For me, Too Blessed To Be Stressed was ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 stars (rounded up from 3.5). Thank you @barbour for this advance reader in exchange for my honest review.

TOO BLESSED TO BE STRESSED FOR MOMS is a must read book for Moms of all ages. Even if your children are grown these stories will amuse you and if your children are young -- or even teens -- they will encourage you.

I laughed out loud at some of the stories -- like the battle with the cat one. Super funny. And kind of gross. I grew hope to realize that maybe my "stupid" time will end when a child gets old enough and I'll know more than he thinks I do. I could totally relate to some of the stress - and even took the stress test. I got Orange alert - I was very close to the danger zone. So I needed a reprieve and some serious time in prayer and Bible reading to destress. The laughter helped too.

There are verses, quotes, and discussion questions, making this a perfect book for small groups (of Moms), Mom's Time Out groups, or even your own personal study. It also has a beautiful cover and a ribbon marker to make it a perfect gift for a mom, for Christmas, for Mother's Day or just because.

I was given a copy free. All opinions are my own.

Having never read the original, I didn't know what to expect with this book. I was pleasantly surprised by the astuteness, humor and God-inspired content. This was a very readable and relatable book. I laughed on numerous occasions during (each chapter of) this book. I liked the anecdotes and found the practical advice, just that, practical; things that I might actually try to implement into my mothering. My only qualm with it, is the author's use of the term "Papa" in place of God on multiple occasions. It somehow seems slightly irreverent to me; just personal preference I guess, since Father is essentially the same thing and I have no issue with that.

I would definitely recommend this book to every mom I know.

Clever, fun to read, and oh, so true. I enjoyed each of these devotionals. They made me laugh and nod in appreciation. Most of all, the entire book was encouraging. I think many moms feel like they are spinning their wheels and getting nowhere. Added to that is the feeling that they are alone in that journey. This author reminds us, in entertaining and truthful ways, that we are not alone. Other moms experience the same trials and fears. More importantly, that God (Papa God as she refers to Him) is right there with us. Full review at my website.

I received this book complimentary as a participant of the Too Blessed to be Stressed Blog Tour. I was not required to give a positive review. All of the opinions I have expressed her are my own.

Too Blessed to Be Stressed for Moms is my first introduction to Debora M Coty's writing. Oh my goodness! Within the first few pages, I laughed until I cried. I instantly contacted another mom friend and told her she would love this book. I can not wait to pass my copy on to her. The stories told within the book are so relatable for me that I could be sure she was writing about me.

I know most moms like to say they are too blessed to be stressed, but do we really act that way?? I know I like to say that, but then I turn around and stress about so many things. Most of the things I'm stressing about I have no control over anyway! Debora Coty has given us an amazing tool to help work on the stress in our lives and truly act as we speak. Too Blessed to be Stressed for Moms has a gorgeous cover that just grabs your attention to start. The flowers seem to jump right off the cover and there is a handy, pink ribbon to keep your place while reading. The book starts off with a "stress test" for moms. There are 10 true/false questions to help place you in the yellow alert, orange or red areas for stress. I fell into the orange alert level. "Look out-you're at toxic stress levels". I felt that pretty much summed up my daily life :)
There are four sections in the book:

1) Why Didn't Anybody Warn Me?
2) So Where's the Ding-Dang Motherhood Manual?
3) Coloring My Word with the Crayons Papa God Gives Me
4) Mothering is a Lifetime Gig

In each of these sections there are short, but sweet, lessons to help lower the amount of stress in our lives. Chapter 2 I'm Not Crazy-I'm Crazy-Busy is how I might describe my life! We are given the verse I will strengthen you, surely I will help you from Isaiah 41:10 One thing that stood out to be in this chapter is that the word "should" is a dangerous word. Deborah tells us that it's a stress-filled pressure-packed slave driver. We compare ourselves to others and what they are doing. We then feel we "should" be doing certain things. This often is a use cause of stress in our lives. In Chapter 12 Chocolate Caulks Relationship Cracks we learn about Forgiveness. Romans 12:19 says Don't insist on getting even; that's not for you to do. "I'll do the judging," says God. "I'll take care of it." We often feel the need to get revenge on those that do us wrong. Sometimes it's a struggle with a neighbor or a friend. We need to learn to be kind to one another, tenderhearted and forgiving. At the end of each chapter there is a navigating the hood section. There are a few questions that really help to dig deep and study our hearts.

Motherhood is a challenge no matter what age your children are at the time. When they are younger we are dealing with taking care of their every needs. As they grow older they don't need us as much and often push us away when they do need us. As they grow and leave our homes we have to learn to parent in an entirely different. Once they leave the home and start families of their own they still need us, but in different ways. We are parents for life, but it doesn't mean it's easy. It's easy to get stressed and not rely on our heavenly father to help us through the tough times. We need to pray and remain faithful that he's got this and will be by our side always.

This book could make you cry but it will definitely make you laugh! Reading "Too Blessed to be Stressed for Moms" is like finding a series of therapy sessions that have been bound in a 5" x 7" book that you can fit in your purse! I am past the "mother stress stage" but I remember how it was and I just wish that this book had been available when I was the mom trying to stay afloat. There is a Stress Test for Moms at the beginning of the book to help determine your level of stress and then the therapy begins. Author Debora M. Coty has included scriptures, personal experiences, well-known (and lesser known) quotes, and a section titled Navigating the Hood (the MotherHood) at the end of each chapter to help readers better understand that they aren't the only ones feeling like "they just can't do it anymore". She shares a huge amount of wisdom and seasons it with a tremendous amount of humor!

Yes, it is entertaining but the inspiration and motivation offered are the author's primary goals. Being a mother causes many emotions. There are moments of overwhelming fatigue, total humiliation, extreme embarassment and a need to run away. Debora M. Coty assures us that these feelings are normal and they can be overcome because mothers also experience intense love and immense love. I especially liked this observation that she makes near the end. On page 215 she writes "As jarring as it is to admit, mothers never stop being mothers. We'll always care about, fret over, and fiercely love our kids--bone of our bone and flesh of our flesh. Our Creator hardwired us that way; we relentlessly love our children like He relentlessly loves His (that would be you and me!)

Proof positive that we mothers are very special--we ourselves are very loved and we are indeed very blessed!

"Too Blessed to be Stressed for Moms" is applicable to a first-time mother with a new baby or to a mom with numerous children; if you're now a mother to teens, you can definitely relate to the stress factors! This is a book that can be recommended to all mothers.

From the moment I started this book, I have enjoyed reading every page. The Introduction is well worth reading and includes a Stress Test For Moms Quiz. I did take it, but I don't think I will share what i got. Let's just say as a mom, I seem to be stressed more than I realized. What a great statement she makes emphasizing that even though as new mothers we think we are the worst, we really aren't. New mothers will stress over everything which to me just shows how loving and protective we are towards our children.

The author has great tools to helps mothers feel more comfortable in their journey. I really liked the Navigate the 'Hood (the Motherhood) at the end of each chapter. These are great questions to think on and help you absorb the chapters with more understanding. I like that the questions make you really look at yourself and help you see what changes you may want to make in your thinking.

I really enjoyed Chapter seven when the author talked about Hidden Wounds. As a new mom, I carried deep wounds from my childhood. When i had my first child, I loved him so much I would have done anything to keep him safe. There was no one there for me when I was growing up, and I was determined that each of my children would know and feel my love as a mother. The chapter really encourages us to let those hidden wounds out and get healing. It also helps me to realize that "healing is a process."

There is so much great nuggets of encouragement and information in this book that I encourage each of you to take your time reading the book. The author has written a great book that will bless everyone that reads it. It is definitely a must read for every mother who struggles, feels inadequate or needs encouragement. The book is easy to read and the author uses humor to help share her wisdom.

I received a copy of this book from Read With Audra blogger program. The review is my own opinion.

First, a confession...I’ve not finished reading this book yet. Too Blessed to be Stressed for Moms is not the type of book one wants to read straight through; each chapter is chalk full of understanding, humor and encouragement. The chapters are brief and dive right to the heart of being a mom today.

I’m writing my review now to invite moms of all ages to join me.

I love Debora M. Coty’s conversational and down to earth writing style. Too Blessed to be Stressed for Moms is the second book of her Blessed books for me.

Sitting down with this book is almost like two moms visiting over a cup of coffee to discuss the joys of motherhood. Can you hear them now? Little Susie got sick last night and I had to wash 5 loads of laundry throughout the night, I didn’t get any sleep at all and todays the day I’m cooking a meal to meet hubby’s new boss and I haven’t even been to the grocery yet and now Tommy is whining is tummy hurts and and and and...the list goes on.

Along comes Debora Coty with just a few minutes of encouragement and the moms feels understood. Nothing can make a burden feel lighter like feeling like someone truly gets it.

Each chapter ends with a few thought provoking questions designed to appeal to a moms sense of confidence.

This particular quote caught my attention, “You know we can be whelmed without being overwhelmed. Whelmed is livable; overwhelmed is strangling. We just have to recognize that we truly have the power to choose which should are potential could...and then unapologetically embrace the woman our choices make us.”

Isn’t that an awesome perspective? Grab a copy today!

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher and am not required to write a positive review. All thoughts and opinions, therein, are solely my own.

Too Blessed to Be Stressed for Moms by author Debora M. Coty is a 216 page hardcover gift sized book for mothers. The whimsical cover is enough to make a reader smile, but wait until you start reading. Divided into four sections and 25 chapters the devotionals are lovely and filled with Christian humor.

The author has provided practical advice for struggles that every mother faces. Just knowing she isn’t alone will bring comfort and relief to many. The stories in this delightful book are true and spot on for motherhood. The best part is this book is biblically based so the advice is sound. Scripture is used for guidance and strength in each lesson.

Each daily reading is short and can be done in five to ten minutes. Included in each is a Bible verse followed by stories that are truly inspiring, along with parenting lessons, and ending with discussion questions either for personal reflection or to be discussed in group study. The stress test at the opening is a great way to start this book and determine the mom stress level starting point.

This book would be a wonderful shower gift, new mom gift, small group study or for any mother that is struggling right now. Maybe give it and a latte as a pick me up reminder that she is loved. This grandmother found it engaging, humorous, and most needed for the times motherhood is dauntingly hard. It earned 5 out of 5 stars from me. Get one for the over-whelmed mama you know.

If it's possible to find humor in every day of motherhood, you'll find it here. I found myself laughing out loud through so many real-life, aptly named and described examples of mothering dilemmas and situations with our children. The author isolates the problems out of all the chaos of raising children and offers doable solutions. I also found hope and comfort with so many Moms experiencing the same or similar things that I did. I'm a grandma and looked back with a different perspective on so many of my mothering situations encouraged by the author: trying to be consistent, loving and ever present with my two sons. I now babysit my grandchildren and have some added insight and humor to encourage and lighten the mood for my daughter-in-laws. One says she feels judged by others all around her for her mothering skills. The encouragement I found mentioned in the book, that I've found to be true for this is that redemption will come for all my flaws when my sons want to be around me, and they do! One even wants me to live with them! There are many quotes in this book that will stick like glue in your mind to get Moms through tough times, great questions at the end of each chapter, hilarious illustrations from Moms and the author, and a multitude of Scripture verses and encouragements that will bolster your faith and carry you forward towards the goal of raising children who love God and love family. You'll love the book, can use it as a devotional, and can get all the rest of this "Too Blessed To Be Stressed series" to get help with your JOY!

A Mom's job is tough - you never know if you are doing the best job, you constantly question and doubt yourself (not to mention comparing yourself to others) and the never-ending list of things to do. It can be an overwhelming, stressful, underappreciated role but when you look at your children, you realize that there is nothing better in life then the job of a Mom.

When we feel stressed and overworked, it can be easy to overlook the good parts in our life and feel blessed. We tend to focus solely on the things that are worrying us and causing us anxiety. We begin to feel inadequate and judge even ourselves. As a Mom, you are not alone! There is not one Mom who hasn't questioned their ability and their parenting ability at one point.

This book acknowledges those feelings but also reminds us that we are not alone. That we all feel like this at times and the best medicine? Faith, humour and remembering the basics - your kids just need you to love them, to support them and fully be engaged in them. Coty uses her own personal experiences - that not only will have you giggling away but that you can one hundred percent can relate to - to help share her story of hope and guidance. Each chapter has a unique focus and gives us personal examples, tips and quotes to help us get through the hardest times. This was a well written, personal book that I couldn't put down. It was like having a glass of wine and a fantastic conversation with a best friend - you just didn't want it to end! A definite must read for first time Moms and second (third and fourth!) time Moms.

This book is broken down into 4 sections, covering important parts of motherhood- "why Didn't Anyone Warn Me", "So Where's the Ding-Dang Motherhood Manual", "Coloring My World With the Crayons god Gave Me", and "Mothering is a Lifetime Gig", which echo the different steps we ALL go through in motherhood! From there there are multiple chapters in each section. Each chpater has it's on topic and begins with a bible quote, and a 'goal' for the chapter. Then Debora gives you a story, or thoughts on the subject. That is followed up by a quote from different sources. The last part of the chapter is "Navigating the Hood', and asks readers different questions about the topics at hand, and to think how the topic applies in their lives. Then Debora tried to give a creative way to apply them!

I found myself laughing most of the way through the book! Debora really has a knack for finding stories that everyone can relate to, and showing us how to find the humor in events that seem to rock our world, and make us think we can't mother right, and to show us that not are we fdoing a fine job, but everyone else is struggling along with us. There is NO perfect parent or perfect child. We all have the flaws that God gave us, but with Debora's help we can realize that those 'flaws' may just be our biggest strengths! This is a book for moms already in the trenches, and those about be, both will find themselves going back to the book, over and over, for it's nuggets of wisdoms and support!

With a great amount of humor and insight, Ms. Coty provides sage advice for mothers who are overwhelmed by the expectations that are many times self-inflicted in a world that expects one to be able to do it all. I for one, found this was impossible. I expected myself to be the perfect wife, mother and teacher and found myself slowly drowning from stress, fatigue and failure. If only I had this book available to me at the time. I had to discover many of these truths over a period of years.
Ms. Coty remind us to search for our blessings every day. While I am pass the stage of mothering young children, a mother never stops praying for her children. In the midst of each struggle, we need to remember that we are not alone. Ms. Coty provides her reader with hope, that Our heavenly Father is with us at every stage, including the messy, chaotic stages in the rearing of our greatest treasures, our children.

This is a wonderful devotional that would make a great gift for young mothers. The devotions are short and to the point with a short story, scripture, quotes and questions included as part of each devotion.

My husband is in the military and we have 3 children 3 and under. While I am incredibly grateful for my family life can get a bit crazy if I don't keep a tight hold on things.

So when I got an opportunity to review Debora M. Coty's book "Too Blessed to Be Stressed for Moms" I jumped at the chance. At first I was put off y the flowery cover (if you have been reading my Title Tuesday posts for any length of time you know that I wish women's books weren't so...girly) but let me tell you, Mrs. Coty does not disappoint!

What I loved:

Her stories are truly hilarious.
She has 3-5 questions at the end of each chapter that could easily be used in a group setting
Each chapter starts with a scripture that directly correlates to the chapter (no fluff!)
Her entire chapter titled "Patience Should be a Verb". (Seriously go read it!)

What I didn't like:
The book is stylized, meaning text in the actual book is brown (to match the cover decor) rather than black. I know that may not seem like a big deal to most people but if you are a mom that struggles with reading and you are already fried that could really be off putting.

Overall, I give "Too Blessed to Be Stressed for Moms" by Debora M. Coty a solid B+. This book would make a fabulous baby shower gift, Mother's Day gift for a mom with several littles, or potential book for conversation in women's groups.

Debora Coty looks at the world through the lens of humor and teaches others how to do the same through her "Too Blessed to be Stressed" series.  The latest includes a book devoted to moms and motherhood.  With her unique style, Coty shares parenting survival tips, real-life stories and biblical insights for moms in all stages of motherhood.

Coty helps us realize that we are not alone in those awkward situations our children put us through. God is always there as well as the other moms who have experienced the same things so can share and help each other.

In the guise of humor, Coty teaches us how to manage our time, turn our worries over to God and parent with grace.  "Too Blessed to be Stressed for Moms" is the perfect gift for new moms, moms of teenagers, grandmothers or anyone who is experiencing all the joys and craziness of motherhood, because once you are a mom, you are always a mom.

Too Blessed To Be Stressed for Moms is a witty devotional book (approximately 5” x 7”) designed for mothers. I love devotionals, especially ones that are short, to the point, and easy to digest, and this one fits the bill.

With a short and fun Stress Test for Mothers in the introduction, moms can discover their baseline stress level before they begin the devotional journey, and perhaps look back when the book has been read to see how their stress level has improved. This hardback book is sturdy and attractive, fitting easily in a purse or computer bag.

Each devotion contains Scripture verses, a 5-8 page short story, quotes, and a section titled, Navigating the Hood (motherhood) offering relevant questions and guidelines. There’s also an attached satin ribbon as a bookmark. And don’t skip over the dedication page—it is touching and inspirational.

I like the appearance, tone, and motivation behind this book. The perfect gift for frazzled moms!

Too Blessed to Be Stressed is a hysterical, yet practical look at the realities of motherhood and how to proactively deal with all that life throws at us as we attempt to raise the next generation to be godly, productive members of society.
Littered with humorous anecdotes and inspiring quotes this book is fresh and refreshing, an encouraging guide for the modern mother. Different areas spoke to my heart and brought tears to my eyes. This book doesn’t just point out where things are going wrong, Debora gives you useful tips on how to fix the problems and overcome the trials.
Each chapter ends with some pointed questions for application of each chapter’s content. This book cover topics like: Seeking Balance, Finding Room to Breathe, Being Enough, Letting Go of Mom-Guilt, Emotional Damage Control, and Finding Adventure in the Mundane. And each chapter is fairly short, so it could easily be read during your personal devotion time or even before bed. Plus, it comes with this cute pink ribbon bookmark to keep your place until the next time you are able to let Debora Coty and the Word of God soothe your weary soul.
My own negative is that this book using every version of the Bible except for King James Version.

I really enjoy this devotional. I say "enjoy" and not "enjoyed" because it's a continual read. It's something I can come back to again and again. I told a friend the other day, "it's like sitting down to coffee or tea with a good friend for a breath of fresh perspective in the midst of the chaos." The most chaotic time of day for me is that 3:30-4:30 hour when all the kids seem to be done or needing my attention and I just can't give any more. I can take 10 minutes to sit down and read one--or even just part of one--of Debora Coty's entries and feel refreshed. She gives beautiful wisdom with a dose of funny. Did you know it's physically impossible to be grateful and stressed at the same time? Deborah makes you laugh, tweaks your perspective and loves on you. Yes, I think you need to add this book to your bedside--or give as a gift to a much loved friend.

What I like: Debora reminds me to love myself enough to give time to Me and not just give it all away before I'm spent. That way I'm healthy and I can better love on the ones that are so precious to me.

Okay, I’m going to get this out of the way at the beginning. I don’t care for the title of this book and it almost turned me away. Yes, we’re blessed. But yes, stress happens. I would have given it a different title. But I persisted and I’m so glad I did.

Author Debora Coty makes this book feel as if you’re having coffee with a good friend. She’s warm, and chatty, and real. I’m sure we’d be friends.

The book itself is a great size and has an attractive cover along with a ribbon bookmark. Each chapter has scripture pertaining to that subject, witty sayings, and questions at the end to make you think about what you just read. The stories are true to life, and Coty will make you laugh. It would be great for a women’s study group.

Full of great advice for young mom’s, written by someone who understands where you are, I highly recommend it. And if you’re not a young mom, get it for someone who is!

Debora M. Coty hits a home-run with "Too Blessed to be Stressed for Moms." She writes in a way that speaks directly into your tender soul and is applicable to all Moms, no matter their stage of motherhood. I can't express enough how much I love her writing style, especially how she ties together wit and humor with scripture. I laughed, I cried, I FELT. I felt like the author was speaking directly to my current 'Mom situation' in many chapters. God deeply touched my heart through Debora M. Coty's words.

The book size is convenient, the colors are catchy and vibrant, and the chapters are readable in one quick sitting.

I have since purchased countless copies and given them as gifts to bless friends, family, neighbors, as baby shower gifts, as a 'thank you' to my massage therapist, hair stylist, dental hygienist, and even to fellow-mom-strangers at the playground. This is a must read!

This book is a keeper. Once again, Debora Coty has done what she does best. Her devotional is full of real life wisdom and a sense of humor. Through her writing, we get to see the everyday, not-always-easy life that is mom-hood. Our days are easier to face when we can see them from a different point of view. When we can approach them with humor and the knowledge that someone has walked that road before and come out smiling ( and hasn't pulled all of her hair out 😊). TooBlessed to Be Stressed is like a pocket friend that can be pulled out when you have a few minutes,or when something's gotta give, or else.. There's even some sage advice from Debora's daughter, Cricket Coty Boyer. I was gifted a copy of this book from Barbour Publishing and was under no obligation to post a review. The thoughts and opinions are mine alone. If you're a young mom, or know one, who could use a little help and humor to get through your days, you've come to the right place.

Too Blessed to be Stressed for Moms is a book all moms should read, because parenting is not always easy and we all get stressed sometimes. I love Debora M. Coty's writing style. It is like she is having a conversation with you, and the stories she shares from her own motherhood experience and the experience of other mothers is hilarious. She uses a lot of metaphors and bible verses to describe and explain her stories. Her way of writing seems very unique to me since I do not read many books like this. There are questions at the end of each chapter that will help moms "navigate the 'hood", and the chapters are very short which is great for busy moms like me. Too Blessed to be Stressed for Moms is fun to read. I recommend this book to moms who sometimes need a break and reminders that we can handle motherhood even on the craziest days, which is probably all of us.

In Too Blessed to be Stressed for Moms, Debora M. Coty takes moms on a beautiful retreat, so they can de-stress and and re-energize their lives, so that they can jump back into the high paced, high stressed lives, that everyone lives these days.

There is a Stress Test for Moms.

Four sections, encompassing 22 Chapters:

Why Didn't Anyone Warn Me?

So, Where's the Ding Dang Motherhood Manual

Coloring My World with the Crayons Papa God Gave Me

Mothering is a Full-Time Gig

Thought provoking, a little humor, a little Christianity sprinkled in throughout. I enjoyed reading it, it's a pretty, pink book, with a pink ribbon for you to save your spot, for when you fall asleep when reading it-as we all know that moms do that regularly.

I have read several of Debora M. Coty's devotionals and just love them. This one is no different. I love how real she is and funny. I feel like I have just had a conversation with a dear friend after I read a chapter. I love how the chapters for daily devotion are short but still filled with enough to really get the most out of it. Each daily chapter has a short personal story, a story or application from scripture, and some thought questions. Plus every entry starts where it should with a Bible Verse. these are terrific shorter verses that would be great to put to memory for those times when needed, and that is all the time for moms! This is such a great support book for moms, and it will inspire you to look to Papa God when stressed!

Anything written by Debora Coty does not disappoint. She brings real, raw writing into her books, and adds her own unique brand of humor and flavor. This book is no different. This book came at a great time in my life, and while I did finish it last year right after the birth of Sam, I re-read it often. We can always use some blessing reminders, can't we?

As moms, we are some of the most often stressed people. Because of our stress, we tend to forget the blessings we do have in our lives. Debora reminds us of those simple blessings we have, and how to hold onto those blessings even in our times of stress. This is another great one in her Too Blessed to Be Stressed book collection!

If you are looking for a humorous twist on remembering our blessings, this is one I recommend all moms pick up.
