Once in awhile, I love to read a good paranormal romance book. There are some that hits the mark and there are some that has you slapping you forehead on why did you decide to read this book. Luckily for me, I enjoyed reading Seduce by Jennifer Snyder. I will admit this was my first book that I have read that pertains to a succubus. The only time I ever heard of a succubus was when I was watching the TV show Charmed many years ago. Well, Seduce was a fast read book that kept me engaged to the heroine and the secondary characters. The writing was well written and as a reader you can feel the emotional connection to the heroine, Kenna Blake as she battles her personal love life with Randal, who happens to be a vampire. Can a succubus and a vampire have a romantic relationship?
I look forward to reading what comes next in the following installment. With a great group of characters and a storyline that is entertaining, I look forward to reading more books from Jennifer Snyder.

at first I'm very excited with this book. from the blurb it's definitely suite my taste. the opening was okay and very very interesting. the characters too was okay. but the more I read the more I felt this book have a slow pace and the author dragging the plot. it's like walking forward and then back at square one.

A wonderful paranormal adventure!
I must preface this review by saying the Succubus Kiss series has a special place in my reading heart. The prequel to this series Kiss of Awakening was featured in a collection last fall and it was my first experience with Jennifer Snyder’s work. I have since become a huge fan and have been devouring her books.
Seduce is book one in Jenn’s Succubus Kiss series. It is a paranormal romance with a definite new adult edge. The series centers around Kenna Blake, a succubus with a conscience and the adventure of exploring life as a supernatural. Seduce can be read without any background but I would highly recommend reading Kiss of Awakening to learn how Kenna becomes a succubus and learn more about her character’s background. Bonus The prequel is currently free on Amazon!
Seduce provides a very interesting twist on the typical paranormal storyline. Kenna is a reluctant supernatural who isn’t comfortable with the behavior of her kind. Most succubi just feed without much thought or care. They enjoy the thrill of the experience. Kenna has managed to find a balance between keeping herself alive and also remaining true to her moral compass. She keeps very specific guidelines for who she will feed on and hopes to make men better people by removing their worst qualities when she does feed. It’s really a neat take on a succubus.
In addition to dealing with being a succubus, Kenna is also struggling with the same things a lot of young women are…trying to find a boyfriend, working to support herself while she tries to start her own design business and balancing friendships and a very strained relationship with her mother. You really end up wanting to be best friends with Kenna and hang out on Friday nights because she is so relatable despite being supernatural.
Seduce introduces several characters who are part of Kenna’s adventure. Sage, a slightly conceded but lovable vampire, is a coworker and close friend of Kenna. Dex, a goofy but sexy werewolf, is also friends with the girls. And the extremely interesting Randal Vincient, who has ties to Sage. Randal is an ancient vampire whom Dracula is based on. He’s pretty much a rockstar in the supernatural world.
This part of the series really focuses on reintroducing you to Kenna and her lifestyle. You also get to see Sage and Dex interact with her as their friendships grow and evolve. Kenna is working, getting new design jobs, and spending time with her friends. She also meets the elusive Randal and he becomes an interesting possibility for love. However, Kenna’s hopeful perspective is stolen away when she is attacked by another supernatural being that brings up memories of the past for Randal. When Randal walks away, Sage and Dex step up to stand by Kenna’s side. There is a big cliffhanger to keep you in suspense until book two.
I really enjoy the writing style of Seduce. It’s an easy but entertaining read. Jenn creates a very interesting plot line that has amazing character development and plenty of twists to keep it interesting. But she doesn’t overly complicate the story where you have a lot to keep up with. Some stories get so complex that you constantly feel the need to go back and fact check. Jenn has found a wonderful balance of enough details to keep you deep in the story without drowning in it.
Seduce is a 5 star read. I highly recommend this book for anyone who a paranormal romance fan. Even if you generally don’t like the paranormal, this could still be a good read for you. The characters are really well rounded and you will relate to them on levels beyond their supernatural status.

Seduce is the first book in a New adult paranormal romance series. The Series is called Succubus Kiss. Seduce transports readers to a world in North Carolina where all sorts of paranormal creatures live and play. It seemed like there were a ton of them in this town, living alongside all the normal humans. In Jennifer Synder's paranormal world all creatures- paranormal and human, have a distinct aura color. The main character, Kenna, who is a Succubus does a pretty good job of linking the auras she sees to what kind of person or creature they are. Human auras reflect the human's personality and paranormal auras are only based on what kind of creature they are. So throughout the story I got a good feel for the various character's auras, but at the end of the book there is a great little chart that plots out the colors and what they mean. If you have a paperback book, flip to the back and check it out before reading. I had fun trying to decide what color would be the strongest in my aura.
Kenna is a succubus with a huge conscience. She thinks of herself as a parasite to the male population. On the spectrum of succibi in this story, that puts her pretty far on the "pure" end. I thought it was funny that she thinks of herself as some big skank but she only kisses the guys to feed. For a Succubus she is tame. I really liked Kenna. I thought she was a good amount of sweet and spunky. Her friends Dex and Sage cracked me up as well. And Randall was very intriguing, but I do wish we got to know him a little better. I wanted to get inside his head a little and see what he was thinking and figure out what it was that drew him to Kenna. Other than the fact that he is hot, hugely important to the vampires and very old, we didn't know too much about him. He does seem like a nice guy though.
Seduce does a great job of describing the world, and setting the stage for a paranormal series that seems will be a hit with me. I do have some questions, like why all these paranormals decided to live in this area? But other than that, I love that the town has different night clubs that are each set and owned by specific paranormal. For example- Love Potion 9 is run by witches, Red River by Vampires and Moonbeam by werewolves. I thought that was cute. All in All Seduce is a solid foundational read for a pretty interesting looking paranormal romance series. One that I will definitely be continuing. I would read the second book right now if I had it.

August 27, 2015The Succubus Kiss series has already 4 books (including the prequel that is FREE now) and when reading Seduce I could tell that you need to read all the volumes, in order, to have the full story. OK, maybe we will have to deal with some cliffhanger endings, but at least we have already 3 books plus the prequel.
Coming back to the first volume, in Seduce we meet the characters, start to know the set and to have some idea about how the supernaturals live. And they live a very ordinary life. Yes, they have to obey some specific rules, they have some special feeding requirements, but in the end, their preoccupations are very mundane. As human as I am, it was a bit odd to see that there are no such big differences between us. :))
The characters are attractive. Kenna Blake is not as black as her name, but she is one of the last pure-hearted succubi in the world. Even if she is that kind of demon, she is capable of feeling emotions and, apparently, of falling in love. The author contoured a “dualism” of her nature that allows a possible love triangle. Until now, Randal, the focus of Kenna’s attention and the vampire that served as inspiration next to my ancestor for the Dracula character, is all that a vampire is in the view of the modern, romantic literature. From the way I saw it, his most important features are to come in the next volumes and profound sentiments are expected. The author opened the door to many possibilities... or to other characters.
The secondary characters are nice too. Sage, the vampire, has several layers and between her jealousy and friendship there is large room to play. Dex... let’s say that, for the first time, if J.S. would have allowed it, I would have been in the werewolf team, not in the one pro vampire. But even if the situation is clear here (at least for the moment) I would like to meet him more in the next books.
The pacing could be considered to be a bit slow, but even so, the story kept my interest to find out what happens next. The humour brought by Dex and the verbal exchange between the characters peppers the atmosphere. In the second part of the book the rhythm increases and later the triggering event happens.
Another thing that I liked in this first volume is the language. Even if the author doesn’t use figures of speech all the time, her style is pleasant, cursive and there are parts that I really liked. Such part determined me to start reading Seduce.
Overall, the series looks promising, new characters are to meet and some of them could be important, and there is a vast number of possibilities of what could happen. I will definitely check out the next volumes!

In paranormal fiction, Succubi are generally represented as the bad guys with an insatiable thirst for human life force and eager to use their sexuality to feed. Kenna Blake is different. A year has passed since the end of Kiss of Awakening, when she discovered she was a Succubus. She knows she can use her powers to attract men so she can feed the necessary three times a week, but the idea disgusts her.
Kenna may be a demon, but Jennifer Snyder’s characterisation is so vivid, that she is a young woman we can imagine being friends with. In truth, she knows her feeding limits and would never knowingly harm anyone. The fact that she can identify auras also helps us to realise that in Newvale, supernaturals are common and there are restaurants and nightclubs which cater to each species’ specific needs.
In Seduce, Kenna’s best friend Bree, has moved away and Kenna has befriended Sage, a workmate and vampire. Sage is confident but temperamental and I wasn’t sure I entirely trusted her.
On the other hand, Dex, a werewolf who Kenna has a failed blind date with, is a sexy and fun character. He has a cute cockiness but is protective of Sage and his new friend Kenna. I hope to see more of him in future instalments of the series.
At the heart of Seduce is the romance between the powerful vampire, Randal Vincent and our main character, Kenna. The scene in which they meet is hilarious and totally something I have done before!
Kenna’s naivety about Randal and the influence he has, is another reflection of her integrity. Despite his age, this relationship appears to be based on a real curiosity, rather than lust, which is an appealing change from other stories in the genre.
I really enjoyed how Jennifer Snyder chooses to unfold the events in Seduce and by placing Kenna in such a precarious position, she has ensured that many of her reader will reach for the sequel as soon as it is released! I for one cannot wait to meet the mysterious Jason Bloom!

This review is really hard for me to write, there wasn’t anything really wrong with Seduce, but there also wasn’t really anything that I absolutely loved about it! The characters were all okay, I did like how Kenna seemed like she was a succubus with a conscience. Dex was a good character because he provided some comic relief when things got a little boring - I would have liked to hear more about him though, I though his character could have been developed a little bit more even though he was just a secondary character. I feel like I should have gotten more from Randal, though. As the love interest I expected to feel a little bit more of a pull towards him. While he did have his moments, he needs to step up his game in the next book to keep my attention! As a whole, I didn’t really connect with any of the characters, but then again I’m not some paranormal being that has to deal with the issues that the characters had to deal with.
Overall, I think my main issue with this book was that I was a little bored while reading it. It did keep my attention, but I wasn’t flipping through pages like crazy in order to read what was about to happen next. A little more action and a little bit more plot would have really enhanced the story, in my opinion.

I know based on this review it might sound like I should have rated it lower, but it wasn’t necessarily a bad book, I just think it was lacking a little something! Seduce is the first book of Succubus Kiss series. It's also first book about Succubi I have ever read. I have always found books about Incubus very interesting but for some reason there asn't Succubus book I was interested in reading before this one.
“Sometimes it’s the little things in life we should strive to enjoy most.”
The start of the book was very interesting and I even thought that it was going to be four star book. Kenna found out a year ago that she's a succubus and now she can read men's aura. She can tell what supernatural being they are and with humans she can read their emotions. I like how author added what each aura means.
It has been awhile since I liked heroine this much and was invested to see what happens with her. I love how Kenna sees being a succubus as a curse instead of sleeping around for fun. I think it's smart that Kenna doesn't like feeding off guys she saw on regular basis.

A Definite One-Click Paranormal Read!
I am a lover of all things paranormal, so when I was given the opportunity to read this book, I jumped at it. I mean a good girl succubus? Hmmm? I loved the authors unique take on this particular paranormal character, and her writing is terrific. The story is chock full of mystery, suspense, romance, laughter, and a magnificent twist. I absolutely loved Kenna, she is just a great character, definitely not your average succubus, and sometimes has no brain to mouth filter. She is also by no means the only paranormal in this story. I problem I can relate to. Then we have Randal, a sexy, powerful, unpredictable vampire, who is one of the few "men" that Kenna can kiss without killing him. I loved her best bud Dex, who is a werewolf that she met during a blind date, but ended up being a better friend than anything else. He is a laugh riot and I hope to get more of him in the next book. Speaking of book two, there is a cliffhanger ending that will have you screaming noooo! I can't wait to get book two in my hands! I would definitely recommend this book and was generously provided a complimentary copy for an honest review.

Seduce follows the story of Kenna Blake. She's not like other girls. She's a succubus. She's having a hard time accepting what she is and has a very interesting way of choosing which type of males she feeds from. Her life is anything but ordinary, but her love life is pretty non-existent. That is until she meets Randall. He's a vampire. Everything about him draws her to him. Maybe Kenna's love life won't be so non-existent after all. .....
Seduce is my first book by Jennifer Snyder. Overall, I found it be quite enjoyable. It was a quick and easy read for me. I liked the idea of the story and thought it flowed really well. The characters were fun and intriguing. I loved the paranormal elements, mystery and the touch of romance. There were also some great twists, that leave you wondering what in the world is going on! Seduce is an exciting start to this new series by Jennifer Snyder and I'm looking forward to seeing what will happen next.

I originally fell in love with this story after reading The Kiss of Awakening (The prequel novella). I loved the characters! I liked that they added Bree in the book, even as a small part.
Kenna has morals and that was something I really enjoyed. Randall still has me curious and so does Sage. I want to love Sage, but I feel like there might be ulterior motives there. Dex is awesome! I wish everyone could have a werewolf friend like Dex!
The only thing I didn't like about the book, was the pacing. I felt like the build up came too late and then it just stopped. There was no sort of resolution to tie everything together. I don't mean that it was just a cliffhanger. The story needed more punch throughout with some sort of resolution in the end, even if it was stopping with a cliffhanger.
Overall, I love Jennifer's writing and am looking forward to book 2! This book gets 4 glittery stars!

Kenna was one of a kind Succubus. While the others taking advantage of their ability to seduce men and live in a luxurious lifestyle, she viewed her power as a curse, and work hard in a bar to earned her keep.
The story started slow, I mean, we all knew that Kenna would be with Randal, but they only started interacting after going about 50 per cent in the story. I didn't mind it though, because I got to know more on Kenna's way of dealing with her power and how she put it to fair use. Besides, we learned about Dex, the understanding and funny werewolf 😊.
I was a bit disappointed though, I thought Bree would continue to be with Kenna, supporting her in her new lifestyle, but she wasn't in the shadow anymore. Instead, Sage was introduced as Kenna's friend/colleague. I wouldn't say I liked her; I was a bit sceptical of her. She might be the one who alerted the wraith. I'll have to check the next book ASAP and find out more!

This book was pretty charming all together. I was a bit confused in the beginning trying to understand the world, but in time everything kind of came together for a better picture and it was different from other ideas of succubi that I have read before. I thought the plot was a bit predictable, but I did enjoy the banter between characters and the it was an easy read with your usual rich and mysterious man. I think the author has a lot of potential and this book was a good start to the series!

Intriguing story
Great story. First I read Kiss of Awakening so I was aware of how Kenna became a succubus so I was able to be prepared going into Seduce. I really loved it. I cannot wait to start the next one.

Kenna has met a really hot vampire. And I mean really hot. But her friend Sage wants him too. He is a very handsome ancient vampire called Randal. Succubus illness. A new club. A blind date. Temptation. A wraith. Fairies. A life and death situation. Loved this story and can't wait for more.

Well, I really hoped to like this...I’ve read other books by this author & liked them. This one fell short for me. The plot flowed so slowly as to almost feel like nothing really happens. Kenna is one of those heroines I don’t like, always doing stupid things that get her into trouble. Randal was a total snooze for a hero. I really didn’t get any overwhelming emotions for him as Kenna’s love interest. Kenna’s boss & Dex were more interesting to me than Randal. I actually skimmed the last few chapters, cause I was impatient to be done & move on to something else. No, unfortunately I don’t believe I’ll continue with this series.

To me, this was a good introduction to the main characters (Kenna, Sage, Dex, and Randall. Entertaining for its part. However, to me, it is an incomplete story. It's more like an episode of soap opera. Good things happen. Bad things happen. Nothing really happens. Then the story ends in a cliffhanger.

Good story
It’s a good storyline but I feel like it’s missing something and I really don’t know why or what. I feel like this is going to be a story that is going to continue over so many books. If that is the case I will get bored with it and not finished. It’s a good start let’s see how it shapes up.

This chick needs some better friends. I liked Dex, he was easy going and a nice addition. The MC was a little weak in denying her nature. Can’t stand Sage, she was weak and spineless. Pretty sure it is what it looks like. Thought it was a typical supernatural love story until the end.

She bartends at a popular club, is well on the road to launching her own graphic design business and, only has to feed her succubus needs every 3-4 days. Yep, totally normal life.
Given Kenna’s succubus status and her natural allure to the opposite sex, you would think dating would be easier but alas, dating still sucks even for a succubus. Kenna needs the men she “dates” in order to survive but at her core, she is a good person and the feeding always leaves her feeling a bit empty inside. Unless she can feed on an asshole and put him in his place; those feeds are particularly satisfying The only time Kenna doesn’t have to worry about hurting a man she is with is if she feeds from another supernatural which is how she has found herself on a blind date with Dex, a werewolf who is totally sure of his good looks and totally funny. Sounds like the perfect man for Kenna but unfortunately she can’t take her eyes off another man, another supernatural whose very presence commands attention.
Randall Vincent is a legend in the supernatural community. He is a vampire of old, he is powerful, cultured, charming, wealthy and, completely enamored with Kenna Blake, a woman he has never actually met. Getting and keeping a woman has never been a problem for Randall but Kenna is very young and very new to the supernatural world. Additionally, Kenna’s friend and co-worker, Sage has a history with Randall which could make dating damn-near impossible. Randall Vincent is not a man to be denied and when he sets his sights on Kenna, he will have her no matter the obstacles. Though she is tentative about starting an actual relationship with anyone, let alone a vampire of Randall’s status, Kenna is definitely interested in Randall. A few coffees (OK, tea for Kenna!) and some brief encounters leads to a real date and while things are generally going well, it all goes to hell the moment Kenna gets jumped and left for dead in the women’s restroom.
The Bottom Line: I thoroughly enjoyed this read right up to the very end and that’s where things went sideways for me. Kenna’s story is moving along quite nicely with good explanation of her life as a succubus and how she is managing what was sprung on her just one short year ago. Her life isn’t ideal but she is making the most of it and doing the best she can. When Randall comes into her life, things take a serious(ly hot!) turn and for the first time in a year Kenna begins to consider a real life that doesn’t involve pulling back from every kiss for fear of killing the man she is with. Several times in this read Kenna is put in a tough position but each time she keeps her cool and handles herself well. Randall takes a bit of getting used to and just when I thought I would be OK with him, he pulls a total douchebag move and all respect for his old ass is gone. To top it all off, the ending of this read is one of the most abrupt I have come across in a read in a very long time. Quite frankly, I was all on board for a five-star rating until I hit that last page and I kind of feel like I got sucker-punched. The only consolation is the fact that book two is set to release within in the month so I only have to be cranky for a few more weeks

What really got me interested in this was that it's about a Succubus, I've never read a book about one before (that wasn't my own). So it was fun to read about Kenna, how she dealt with the need to feed. I really liked Jennifer's take on Succubus', I really enjoyed how Kenna saw aura's. Though I wished Mrs. Snyder exampled how Kenna found and came to be friends with other supernatural creatures as Kenna can tell which supernatural being is which just from their aura's.
There's tons of them which makes this read feel like an Urban Fantasy as it feels like there's not many humans where she lives, but it's not and there's still plenty of them. I just wished we knew how she found out which certain clubs and restaurants hosted only supernatural creatures and how she came to being besties with a vampire. Again, I really wished there was a story for the time between Seduce and the prequel Kiss of Awakening as this story is a year later after the prequel. I would love to know what happened in that year!
I really liked this introduction to the series, I enjoyed getting to know Kenna the Succubus but I honestly didn't feel like this was a romance. Yes, she has the hots for Randal and he has the hots for her. They date but I feel like her being a succubus, needing to feed, overpowered the romance. I just wasn't feeling it and honestly, the guy on the cover just doesn't feel like who Randal is. He just looks too boyish to be a vampire that was the one to inspire Dracula. I know it's silly but I'm a very visual person and the guy on the cover just doesn't fit the character of Randal. I would think more of the guy who played Aidan in the American version of Being Human.
What I think drove this story for me was learning how Kenna lived as a Succubus and her friends. I absolutely loved Dex, he was a hoot and I loved that he was so protective over her. He definitely stole the show when he came into the scene haha.
The only thing that didn't feel right besides the image of Randal on the cover, was that I felt like there was no hiccups like she puts in the summary. If the few scenes with Randal's ex, and Kenna's vampire besties are both jealous over the fact that he took notice of Kenna over them is a hiccup, that doesn't really satisfy me. But if you count the unexpected drama at the end, and what's going to drive the plot of the sequel, a hiccup then I'm satisfy there. And what an unexpected turn! Kenna, you were so naive (the only moment she was). Why did you go near that guy, didn't your dad teach you to not talk to strangers?! haha. Because of this ending, I bought the sequel right away! I just need more of this series and answers!
Overall Seduce was an enjoyable read! Though sometimes I didn't feel connected to Kenna, I felt more connected with her in Kiss of Awakening before she found out she was a Succubus, I was entertained by her story! Like I said, I need to know what happens next!

Seduce is very engaging and I definitely enjoyed it a lot more then thought I would. There’s werewolves, vampires, witches, demons, and the likes. While reading it felt so normal for there to be an abundance of supernatural creatures and what they do to survive (such as Randal having to drink blood, and Kenna having to kiss men in order to satisfy her hunger). It was almost as if humans were the weird ones. It was incredibly easy to fall into as well, which made it all the more better.
I think the characters had a lot to do with that. See, Kenna is a succubus, and her job is to seduce men in order to have her hunger satisfied. Now, instead of being an overly confident, seeking-for-a-guys-attention, pro seductress, she’s actually fairly awkward and shy, and she hates having to seduce men. She thinks of herself as a slut, which I honestly couldn’t understand because the most she ever does is make out with them (because that’s how it works) and hasn’t had sex in a year, or more. That made me really love her, because she wasn’t the typical succubus and she really made it work. She’s also a great character, always there for her friends, kind, caring, and loving.
Which brings me to Randal. He’s a very old vampire, having been the inspiration for Dracula (I know, he’s really, really old). And yet he isn’t overly cocky and confident. He too is shy (there’s been instances where he’s blushed, and it makes that heart beat) and he takes his time getting to know Kenna. I mean, okay yeah he has his cocky moments, but they’re usually in the form of smiles directed at Kenna in amusement, and he clearly gets the ladies anytime he wants because one, he’s gorgeous, and two, he speaks more formally (which they find sexy?) as he is a lot older than he looks. Randal and Kenna obviously have a connection, but neither of them are rushing it, or declaring their love for one another. To Kenna, it’s simply a crush. Which is another reason why I love it.
I also love the world, especially the clubs. The clubs are filled with supernatural creatures, some who own the clubs, others who work there, and the rest there for a good time. I love the atmosphere and the fact that Randal and Kenna met in a club. I’ll let you find out how by telling you to read the book. I also love how they have special drinks for them, and that the one Kenna tends to get leaves her in a fog for many, many hours. It was all very intriguing and I loved every minute of this book.

Jennifer Snyder is one of my top favorite authors, so I was super excited to start her new Succubus Kiss Series. I had previously read Kiss of Awakening, which at the time was part of the Midnight Kiss Box Set, and was really hoping that Ms. Snyder would expand on the story – and she did!!! Although Seduce can be read without reading Kiss of Awakening, the reader will get some background information that will be helpful when reading Seduce.
Kenna is not your average Succubus. She only takes what she needs to survive and leaves her victims much better people. Unfortunately, she has no love life, at all. It’s kind of hard to date, knowing that you could potentially kill your date with just one kiss, so she just abstains all together. Her friend and coworker, Sage does try to fix her up with a werewolf, Dex, but in the end, they felt they would just be better off as friends. I have to say, that I absolutely LOVED Dex! He had me laughing throughout with his witty one liners and his all-around fun personality. I need more Dex and really hope to see his character more in the next installment.
It was on Kenna and Dex’s first date that she saw Randal, who happens to be a vampire, at the restaurant and found him very attractive. After bumping into him in in the most embarrassing way possible they went their separate ways, but Randal constantly invaded her thoughts and dreams. By chance, the two meet up again, and this is where the story gets pretty dang interesting. Kenna winds up in a bit of a predicament involving a wraith, and the clock is ticking. Can Randal find a solution to this life or death problem so they can continue to see if their attraction can bloom into something else? Stay tuned folks, because I have a feeling that this series is about to get intense!
Seduce, the first book of the Succubus Kiss Series, was such a fun book to read! Jennifer Snyder once again proved she can write an amazing story that will keep the reader engaged and captivated throughout. This book pulled me in immediately and I was not able to put this one down. I loved the characters and found them not only intriguing but entertaining. The story line was refreshing and is an amazing start to what appears will be an outstanding series. Would I recommend this book? Heck yes! With mystery, romance and supernatural characters, this one is a must read!!!
