USA Today bestselling author Emma Prince whisks readers away to another time and place with her steamy historical romances—where the passion is legendary, the adventure never ends, and the happily ever afters are guaranteed!
After several years as a college English instructor (where she savored her “fun books”—usually historical romances—on the side), Emma turned her love of page-turning, richly historical stories into a career. She lives in drizzly Seattle with her husband, their daughter (the wee lass) and a crazy cat named Oban (after the town in Scotland or the whisky made there, depending on who you ask).

This is an OK time travel romance, with a likable couple, but they fell in love much too quickly for me to believe. This book gets 3.5 stars from me, rounded down to 3 stars.
I liked Caroline, but thought she adapted to her time travel way to easily. She would have been much more freaked out by it than she was, and would have missed more things from her modern life.
I also liked Callum, but thought he accepted Caroline's story of time travel a little too easily. If she had something from the future (like a cell phone or computer) to prove her story, it would have made more sense. But that she would remember the exact date a king was born, and his name? I didn't buy it, and I didn't believe that Callum would have either.
My main issue with the story, though, was that they fell in love way too quickly to believe. Their cultures were so different, and I think it would have taken them both a lot longer to adjust to each other. Instead, they lusted after each other right away, and were in love in only a few weeks? I just didn't believe it.
My rating system is below. 1 star -- Hated it, or did not finish. I usually only give this rating if some of the content is truly objectionable to me, like if one of the main characters does something really awful, and gets away with it. 2 stars -- Didn't like it. This rating usually means that I thought the writing wasn't very good, the editing was terrible, I didn't like the characters, or it had other major flaws. 3 stars -- I liked it, but had some minor issues with it. This rating means that there were minor editing issues, the story needed more character development, it was just too unrealistic, or had some other fairly minor issue. The majority of books I read get this rating – I do not consider it a bad rating. 4 stars -- I liked it a lot. This is a high rating for me, and I rarely give a higher one. 5 stars -- I loved it, and will probably read it again. Very few books are good enough to get this rating from me. The ones that do are usually classics.
An overall good story. I would have preferred more detail of life in a medieval castle and more about the characters in the book. I could also have done without all the sex. For me it detracts from the story and adds nothing.
Talk about grabbing my attention, I was hooked from the first page. I do not read many time travel books but with this trilogy being written by three of my favorite authors, I knew it would be special. Can you imagine going from present time back to 1394 Scotland? Well one can only dream, especially ending up with highland Laird Callum. Three sisters visit Scotland in present day and on their final day there, decide to jump into a waterfall together. Of course they did not know it was magical and this story takes off with the first sister Caroline, coming to the surface in a loch in 1394 Scotland. She is right in the middle of two rival clans fighting against each other. Luckily, Callum sweeps her up and takes her to his castle. Well you can image the confusion on both their parts, but I was totally enchanted as the story flowed beautifully to the end. I enjoyed most of all it did not get too caught up with her longing for things from the future except for her sisters. I cannot wait to read the other two books and find out what happened to them!!!
This is quite the fun read!♡ I am a fan of historical romance and of course time travel Romance. This series is of three sisters and the books are written by other authors. It's about the sisters travel through time and learning to associate with the people in that time was also trying to find what happened to each sister and of course trying to figure out a way back home or stay with the hero. Being on vacation I finish this in one sitting and of course the second book as well of the series and I'm sitting here awaiting the next book in the series. But as I said this was quite the pleasure to read and I just couldn't wait to get ahold of the next one.
some parts of the book had me blushing and swooning at the same time!
Highly recommend if you are a fan of time travel Romance!
This book was a lovely read. I enjoyed it right from the beginning. Three crazy modern American sisters enjoying their holiday suddenly have a thought to jump into a Loch, and end up in the 1300’s where life was different. I plan on reading the next book in this trilogy now
Caroline Sutton and her two sisters go on a vacation to Scotland. They jump off a falls together and Caroline ends up in another location in Scotland and another time.
She tries to get back to the falls but encounters roadblocks at every turn and starts falling in love with medieval laird.
Callum MacMoran finds Caroline in a lake on the border near a rival clan. At first, he thinks she is one of theirs but she's babbling nonsense so she thinks she might be soft in the head.
The romance was excellent in this book. I really felt the love building.
I am getting ready to read the next book in the series.
I will take no hate on this. I really enjoyed it as a quick little read (less than 300pages) and I got it for free. Time travel to meeting a fit Scottish laird? Your sisters being the next two novels all because of a magic well? Sign me tf up! Only crap part was that they were American… always adds a bit of cheapness to stories like these I think.
Caroline is the youngest of three sisters who go back in time in this new Scottish time travel series. Callum's a Laird who gets the surprise of his life when he encounters Caroline on the borders of his land, a border he is contesting with the neighbouring clan. I found it a little slow at first, but really enjoyed it by the end. I finished it nearly in one sitting. I am really looking forward to the next book by Cecelia Mecca.
I have been anticipating the arrival of the Enchanted Falls series since I first found out about it a little over a month ago. Being a new fan of Emma Prince and a relatively new reader of Time Travel Romance, I was curious to see what Emma had conjured up. I won’t lie sometimes these types of stories can rate high on my “cheesy” factor (even if they are a fun read), but I am ecstatic to say that in this first book, Emma Prince, does not disappoint!
In Falling for the Highlander, Emma has created something amazing! Her main characters, Laird Callum MacMoran and Caroline Sutton, are strong and independent, but when they come together it is an emotional ride of highs and lows that left me turning page after page without ever wanting to put the book down! From the moment Caroline jumps into the falls with her sisters to the.... well, you’ll see when you read it... the roller coaster never stops!
As a Time Travel book I was delighted that the sequence of events flowed so naturally and did not feel contrived. Even the dialog between Callum and Caroline regarding her travels from the 21st century to 14th century was spot on, in my opinion.
For me, personally, I enjoy romance novels with a good pace, believable characters, vivid descriptions, varying degrees of emotion, creative plot, steamy love scenes (although not always necessary, still tons of fun), depth and if it keeps me up all night reading...it’s a winner!! Emma Prince delivers it all! Five stars well deserved !!
Can not wait to read Book 2 Cecilia Mecca’s Falling for the Knight in two weeks....heart be still ‘til then!
This is a first read for me by this author. While the writing was good, after 60% the story started to lose my interest and I would have liked more depth of character development of the main couple. Or it could be the h Caroline started to annoy me. I will have to decide if I want to continue with the next 2 in this series, even though I know they are from different authors. The concept is interesting.
I wanted so much to really like this book, but it took forever to get nowhere. I'm going to read the review for the other 2 of the trilogy before buying as this story just does a hard stop at the end and took me 3 days to read 250 pages!! Not enough surprises or interactions to keep me interested. Sorry Happy Reading, Donna
Menarique bukan?
Jujur aja ebooknya ini agak susah nyarinya, tapi saya berhasil dapetin biarpun kudu ngubek2 dikit. Untuk buku pertama lumayan lah. Well written. Saya suka sama style authornya. Cuma saya merasa pendalaman karakternya kurang dalam dan konfliknya kurang greget. Villainnya jg belum bisa dibilang villain sih, cuma obstacle aja. Ga tau apa mood saya yg ga bagus... tp saya gak merasa ada keterikatan emosional dgn hero-heroinenya alias datar aja chemistrynya. Trus knp 4 bintang?
The first installment of this series doesn't disappoint.
I have been really looking forward to this series. When three of my most favorite authors announced that they were calbriating to write a historic romance time travel book if caught my interest . In the 21st-century Caroline and her sisters have decided to take a trip to Scotland to honor their parents after their tragic death in an car accident a year before . On the last day of their trip they decide to jump from the Leannan Falls and some place in between the fall and the water Caroline is transported back to 1396 on the banks of Loch Darraig which is situated on the MacMoran/MacBean border . These two clans are are engaged in a bitter feud . Laird Callum MacMoran after a brief skirmish with MacBean warriors he captures Caroline thinking she's a MacBean. He decides to take her back to his keep to hold her as leverage in securing a temporary truce between the clans while he secures an alliance with the McConnells as a more permanent solution to the feud . But his plan fails as Callum is finds that he is not only attracted to this beautiful outsider but he is fascinated and captivated by her as well as falling in love with Carloline. Will Callum's duty and honor to his clan win out over his feelings for this bonny lass Caroline desperately wants to get back to her own time and be reunited with her sisters but she too is find she's falling in love with the laird . Will her loyalty to her sisters make her leave Callum or will true love prevail and make Caroline decide to stay with Callum in the past . This book kept me up late luring me to turn page after page into the wee hours of the morning . I am eagerly anticipating starting the next book in the saga . Definitely high on my recommended reading list .
By Emma Prince A Time Travel Romance (Enchanted Falls Trilogy, Book 1)
Caroline Sutton is desperately hoping that an adventure with her two sisters will help ease the pain of their parent's sudden tragic deaths. So she dares her sisters to jump from a waterfall and they decide to do it. One minute, she's standing at the edge of the waterfall holding hands with her sister's, then they jump and everything changes. All of a sudden she wakes up on the shore of a Scottish loch 600 years in the past. She's determined to return to her sisters and her own time, but Callum, the rugged Highland Laird who discovers her, has other ideas. Caroline has instant feelings towards Callum that she can not ignore, but if she gives in to her blazing desire, she may never want to leave the past behind.
Laird Callum MacMoran is in a bind. He's inherited a clean fued with no end in sight. When he comes across a strange and beautiful woman on enemy lands, he thinks to use her as a bargaining chip to end the bloodshed. What he doesn't know is that this odd lass is more then she seems, and falling for her will threaten the peace he has worked so long to build. He is torn between his feelings and his duty towards his clan. Can he love Caroline enough to let her go? Or will fate decide their futures for them.
Emma Prince is absolutely fabulous when it comes to time travel. This was an amazing book and I was hooked from the start. I hope Ms. Prince decides to write more time travel novels like this because I will read them in a flash.
The following are my thoughts as I read this book. Callum MacMoran…the laird, intent on bring peace to his clan, has an understanding with the MacConnell Clan. Caroline Sutton…an American, transported back to the 1300s, desperately wants to return to present. Oh goody I haven’t read a time travel in a few years. The h believes she has come upon a historical reenactment. The H is shocked by the clothing worn by the h. The h is finding herself comfortable and confused. Woohoo, the H has agreed to take the h to Leannan Falls. Oh no, someone has made trouble for the H and the h…the Laird MacConnell has unexpectedly shown up. Ok now I think the h is wrong to be angry with the H for a situation that was created before he met her. Laird MacConnell has single track mindset and he is not deviating. Oh there are so many extra surprises, hehehe. It is HEA. This was an enjoyable read and yes there is steam.
Caroline is the youngest of three sisters who are visiting Scotland and all of them jump off a waterfall and travel back in time 600 years to Medieval Scotland. Caroline comes up out of the water and ends up in the middle of a fierce battle and is rescued by Laird Callum MacMoran. Laird Callum rescues her and the attraction is immediate, but Caroline needs to return to the future and Callum feels abrogated to make an alliance with a neighboring Clan. A wonderful tale of time travel, Highland romance and a few twist in the mix. A great start to the Enchanted Falls triology. This is my honest opinions after I voluntarily read a copy of this book that was provided to me with no requirements for a review.
Your typical time traveling romance: girl jumps from a waterfall and ends up in 1300s Scotland. Laird discovers her and takes her against her will, locks her in the castle and forbids her to leave. Girl finally realizes she's actually traveled back in time and tries to figure out how to find her sisters, who may or may not have also traveled through time. Girl cleans the castle garden, falls in lust with laird, finds out he's betrothed to another for clan relations. Girl and laird love each other too much to let go, and after jumping in the waterfall again fails to return her to the 21st century, they live happily ever after.
Overall, it was a comfortable story.
Oh, and it turns out the sisters did travel to the same time, so on to the sequel!

❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ 💋💋 I was so excited about the idea for this book , although never being one who liked time travel romance , the reality is so much better . An excellent book and beginning to a series . Three girls jump into a waterfall , traveling 600 years back in time to Medieval Scotland, separated in the water , non realise if they are the only one or if their 2 sisters are with them in the same age or waiting for them back in present day . I adore this book and am eagerly awaiting both Cecelia Mecca’s book 2 , and Keira Montclair’s book 3 . Emma Prince has done a fantastic job of grabbing my attention, but with her gift for writing that was always expected. Highly Recommended!!
Emma Prince is the Queen when it comes to writing historically accurate romance novels. I was a little skeptical about a time-travel romance, but after finishing the book, I can’t wait for the next thing she does; whatever that may be. The story is great and moves at a good pace, with plenty of drama, romance, comedy, and twists when you least expect it. I’ve pre-ordered the next two novels in the series (written by two different authors: Cecelia Mecca and Keira Montclair), because I can’t help but wonder how the story as a whole is going to progress, and the journey these authors will take us on to get there. Highly recommend!
Caroline and her 2 sisters traveled to Scotland as a tribute to their parents who had died in a car crash. They decided to go to the top of the falls and jump in together. Little did they know they would end up in a different time period. This is Carolines story where she meets Callum after she comes back to the surface from the falls. Callum wants her, but he has to think about his clan. Nothing much happens at first. But later on his steward tries to interfere between the two of them. It was slow reading for me as far as interesting goes. Picks up way later in the book. She hopes to find her sisters in this time or try to return to her time.
Awesome Medieval Tale. Three sisters jump off the top of a waterfall but only one comes up to the surface. Caroline finds herself in a lake, far away from the waterfall with no sign of her sisters. To top it off, she also discovers she has travelled approximately 600 into the past. Callum finds a lass trespassing on his land and take her home hoping to use her as a leverage for peace along his borders. How they discover the truth of this situation makes for a wonderful storyline. The characters are realistic and the descriptions of the Scottish Highlands in this era adds to the reader’s enjoyment. I loved this tale and can’t wait to find out what happened to Hannah and Allison.
I had gotten away from reading time travel romances but took a chance with this one and am so glad I did!
I loved both the H&H, Callum and Caroline. Both strong, loyal and dutiful to both clan and family with loving, sensitive hearts. We can see and feel their relationship growing and empathize with them. It's been a long time since I shed a tear in a romance book but I certainly did. I also enjoyed the cast of characters at the castle that played a big part in this.
Ms. Prince writes a great story with no empty filler and no need of editing. How refreshing! It was magical and I read it all in one sitting.
First time reading a time travel book, and I love it.
Caroline is the youngest of 3 sisters. Being the youngest, she's sort of like the black sheep of the family. When she traveled back to 1394 Scotland, she met Callum. Callum is a the Laird of Kinmuir Castle. I would have to say he's pretty swoon-worthy. They're so cute together. I love how their relationship develops throughout the book. I kind of have a the feeling what was going to happen at the end, but I still love it.
If you love historical romance and time travel, pick this one up. Actually pick up this series. Onto book 2!
Definite 5 stars. Loved this story from beginning to end. It was such a sweet, charming, romantic story with just the right amount of sensuality. I fell in love with the hero, what a braw man, but such honor, but yet tender. The heroine was so love able. They were so torn with their choices. It kept you guessing till the end, but had HEA. This author never disappoints. I have read her other books and loved everyone. I do recommend this, as I do all of her books.
Absolutely loved it! A perfect time-travel romance, with rich characters, a page-turning plot, and riveting emotional ups and downs (and of course a happily ever after). I loved how the romance built slowly so that I could really see the characters falling in love, not just in lust. All the historical details made it feel real, and I loved seeing modern Caroline navigate through the world of 1394 Scotland. It was a completely stand-alone story, with the hero and heroine getting their happy ending, yet it also set up the next book in the trilogy very well. I'm eager to keep reading!
