The Carnival of Light didn't exactly go the way the ECU had imagined. We ended up putting the best show in the world for them, right in front of everyone.
Hiding away in an abandoned monastery while all our enemies knew where we were sounded much better as an idea. Now that we were actually living there, all Storm witches who'd come to meet us at the Carnival, it was a whole other story. We'd gotten every person on the ECU hit-list under one roof, and we had no means to protect them. Yet.
Finding the Spellmaker kid is our top priority. Without spells, we don't have much hope to make our place in the world. But finding him isn't going to be easy, not while hiding from the demons, the ECU, and a brand new enemy who--surprise, surprise!--wants the dragon attached to my hand.
But we're a determined bunch. One way or another, we're going to find the Spellmaker. I'm just not sure if we're ready for what we find when we get there.
Once again, this journey of us, of Storm witches against an entire world, shows me that nothing, absolutely nothing is ever what it seems...
Hallelujah, lovers of kick-a**, take-no-prisoners heroines rejoice, for Scarlet Jones is back!
A bit over-broad, but D.N. Hoxa’s Scarlet Jones novels deserve it, and that includes Storm Legacy, it’s third book (though warning to newcomers: this book picks up where the prior one ended and you really need to read books 1 and2 first). Facing off against the Executive Control Unit (ECU) - the highest and only authority for paranormals on Earth - plus demons and assorted other baddies Scarlet and her fellow escapees are (as the wonderfully fascinating Elisa says early on) most definitely “in deep shit here”. They do at least know that there’s a potential way to deal with a chunk of their problems: find the Spellmaker. How they do it and what happens next make for a great tale. We even find out who Elisa is st the end, and meet with the truly big baddie, plus demons of course. A semi cliffhanger here but it ends on a wow that’s seemingly positive (and, thank you, Scarlet’s dragon). But for the fact that I’m literally dictating this review to my husband from my hospital bed I could go on and on with praises - the book definitely deserves it. Since I can’t do that I will simply note that the book is most definitely one to read, it is easy to highly recommend. I’m definitely looking forward to the next book in this series.
A great story about Scarlet and her fight for her fellow storm witches. It was full of action, fighting, and a massive hunt to find the Spellmaker as Scarlet and her posse try to stay out of the hands of everyone gunning for them. Made me laugh and moan at what happens this time. And do not forget the dragon on Scarlet's hand. Secrets are revealed too along with both new and old bad guys chase after Scarlet. Just a book that picks up from the ending of book 2 and kept me reading until the end to see what would happen next and what twist would show up next. Scarlet makes a great main character. I love this series and world. It is so addicting.
Well, this book was definitely better than the second book in the series. Scarlet and her friends are actually acting like adults. Now Scarlet is after the spell maker that was first introduced in the winter Wayne series. Winter Wayne makes a brief appearance in this book also. Scarlet and her friends don’t want to hurt the spell maker they just need him to make them some spells since they are a new breed of witches. I didn’t like the fact that it ended on a cliffhanger but I will definitely read the next book in the series.
This is my honest and unbias opinion of the story. I love reading this story so much.I love reading books by D.N. Hoxa, the stories she writes makes you feel like you are living her story instead of reading it. There is not enough stars to give to this writer I love her books that much whisch is the reason this book and author are one of my favorites.
Hoxa does a fine work of issuing challenges that have no apparent solution, and with a few paragraphs make you feel the triumph of her characters. I can't wait for book 4
This series ties in with the other series of books so well that the stories continue and you meet so many interesting characters and so many interesting challenges it just boggles the mind I am really enjoying this series of books
There is a spell maker and he is in hiding. They need to find him to help them. Can they do it without endangering his life? Why do they need him? How will they find him? Follow their adventures I received an advanced copy and I enjoyed it so much that I want to review
The universe that D. N. His has created is so vivid and engrossing! The characters and their reactions are so relatable! I love how there are bits of humor even in the darkest moments.
A lot happens in this book and it was great! I loved all of the action, the relationships forming and the new coven coming together. We see some old friends and I would love for them to interact more with Scarlett. Well done!
This is book 3 of the Scarlet Jones series. I am glad I stuck it out to read book 3 after being disappointed in the first 2 books. This book is much faster paced and engaging. I became much more engaged in the characters and story line.
So far the storm witchss are my favorite! I love getting a first hand look at the beginnings of a coven. All the trials and tribulations that they have to endure keeps me on the edge of my seat. super cool!
Scarlet's adventure keeps getting more and more thrilling. With over a 100 storm witches and now a spellmaker their world is changing. For the good and the bad. As they face the demons and the world what will come next. Look forward to the next book.
I love that the adventures and events are so unexpected. Seriously I just enjoy being enthralled and surprised. The last scene was delicious! The tiny romance is cute, but not the center of the story.
Loved this whole story arc it was great getting to know the characters and and it is a special piece of writing I recommend this to everybody get this asap
