Fighter pilot Ben Rutledge loves his solitude. Which means spending a month of leave in overcrowded, over-glitzy Las Vegas isn’t up his alley, especially after his friend ditches him. His first inclination is to bow out, and quickly. Instead, he finds himself sharing drinks—and a whole lot more—with a sexy woman celebrating her birthday. After all, it’s just one night, and he can go back to his quiet life tomorrow. Megan Shuttlekrump doesn’t have time for a boyfriend, much less a husband. But a night of celebratory drinks with a handsome stranger ends with a ring on her finger—and no memory of how it got there. Her new “husband” is over the top hot, but he’ll be out of her life once his leave is over. As long as they can find out which of the thousand or so chapels in Vegas married them…
After a wild night in Vegas, they, of course, wake up married! And they have no memory of it. All Vegas couples are the same! I really wonder how much or what these people drink so that they don't remember getting married at all. And didn't I read/see/hear this plot like 1000 times?
OMG. What a laugh-out-loud, fun story Accidentally In Love with the Pilot was. Teri Anne Stanley gave us 2 characters that you couldn't help but fall in love with. Ben and Megan were a bit quirky and absolutely wonderful!
Ben … shy, tongue-tied and incredibly sexy. How he ended up in the situation he was in, he'll never understand. He does know that his “wife” is sexy-as-hell and he can't keep his hands off of her. His job keeps him away a a lot, he has no idea how to interact with people, has no idea how to be a husband or father and knows that she deserves more than a part-time husband. Besides, with her family, he has no idea how he would fit in to her schedule. But, she needs someone to run interference, get her to see that she can follow her dreams and just take care of her. Now, if he could get the balls to tell her that he really doesn't want to find the wedding chapel and would really like a shot with her, he'd be a happy man.
As for Megan, well, here's where the quirky really comes in. She's the manager for the Waltzing Wallaces … her circus of a family … and feels like they would just fall apart without her. And, besides that, she owes them since they were the ones there when nobody else was. She knows that Ben is going to run and hide when he meets the crazies and can't blame him. Why would a hot pilot want to spend any time with her or her family. But, waking up married to said hot pilot could have it's perks. It's only for a month, they will find the chapel that married them, get it annulled and he'll be back in the Navy while she is stuck in Vegas dreaming about the life they maybe could have had. Knowing that her family always scares away her boyfriends, she can't believe it when he integrates himself into the middle of it all. But, he's off … she's lonely … feeling sorry for herself … depressed that she didn't tell him exactly how hard she fell for him. She can't follow her dreams now – there is no one to push her to do it.
I actually laughed through most of this story. Both Ben and Megan and her family had me in stitches. It's been a while since I read such a fun, well written book by an author that always holds my attention. And the ending to this story brought tears to my eyes. It was sweet. It was funny. And it was definitely classic Ben and Megan.
Ben, a pilot, is not happy. He prefers solitude, yet here he is, stuck in Vegas on a month of leave. His friend, well, former friend now as he ditched him. His first thought is to get the heck out of there and get back to his quiet life, but he doesn't. Instead, he's sharing drinks and laughs with a woman there celebrating her birthday. Staying a few more hours won't hurt anything. He can always leave the next day as he'd planned.
Megan barely has time for anything, such as a stable relationship, but her family is throwing a birthday party for her and she's going to enjoy it. What she hadn't planned on was the handsome stranger that delivers her cake for a friend, nor them having drinks together then waking up beside one another the next morning...married.
As they soon discover that isn't the only surprise in store for them. Though they used protection, it broke. Ben and Megan decide, and quite easily come to this conclusion, to spend the next three weeks together in Megan's place. There the newlyweds will get to know one another. Plus, Ben doesn't have his own place as his job means he spends a lot of time at sea.
Ben and Megan take this time seriously, trying to make the best of the situation they found themselves in. Not to mention, they do have a true connection and chemistry, so who knows what could come of their surprise union.
But what happens when the results are in? Are they hoping for a plus sign? When it's time for Ben to return to work will their relationship be over? Or have they found something worth fighting for? Is a HEA possible?
One-click now and follow along as these two strangers find themselves married and decide to truly give what they could have together a chance.
**I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.**
Accidentally in Love with the pilot is a story about a couple who wakes up married in Las Vegas. Megan was celebrating her birthday party with her family. Ben walks in at her party to deliver her birthday cake as a favor to his friends baker gf. They stick around after the party and get drunk. They wake up married the next morning. They don’t remember getting married. So now they have to find the chapel in which they got married and also there is a possibility of pregnancy as the condom which they found in the dustbin was broke. So they decide to spend three weeks with each other in Megan’s small apartment. And anyway Ben doesn’t have his own house as he is mostly at the sea and he is on leave for 1 month only.
It was nice to see that they were not repelled with the idea of being married to each other the next day. Ben was really a sweet and decent guy. He was so shy. On the other hand, she was a worrier as she thought no guy can deal with her over the top family Megan was just okay. Imagine telling a guy you just met that you are twenty nine without husband and that your family thinks that your ovaries are about to dry up and blow away. Yeah, that’s Megan.
What happens in Vegas doesn't always stay in Vegas. Not in the real world anyway. A little relaxation in Sin City becomes a wild ride for two strangers. For a loner with the best of intentions and a wild child with escape on her mind, a few too many glasses of liquid courage has them putting a ring on it. The problem is neither can remember where, when or why. Except when it starts to become all too clear. Not only have they lost their minds but if they don't step carefully they just might lose their hearts. Teri Stanley always makes my heart a little lighter with her humorous tales of over the top romance. Accidentally in Love With a Pilot is wicked entertainment. Fun romance.
Accidentally in Love with the Pilot by Teri Anne Stanley was a delightfully addictive read. It’s charming, witty, and irresistibly entertaining.
I’m so incredibly smitten with this book! Within the first few pages, I knew I would enjoy this and I really did. It’s not emotionally intense or moving, but the storyline was so absurdly fun and humorous. And even if it wasn’t an emotional or heart-rending story, there were some good moments that had me tearing up. Sometimes, an easy and fast paced fluffy read is just what I need when life gets too hectic and stressful. Accidentally in Love with the Pilot was adorable, funny, and a very refreshing and relaxing book and I had such a wonderful time reading Ben and Megan’s story.
With drunken shenanigans, accidental marriage, loud and rambunctious family members, steamy scenes, and all the hilarious and heartwarming moments, this book was an exciting read until the end. The writing was engaging, lighthearted and captivatingly fun. The plot was quite predictable, but was well-paced and perfectly balanced with humor, charm and swoons that I didn’t really mind if there weren’t any crazy twists. I smiled, laughed, and got a healthy dose of swoons and warm fuzzies, and honestly, that’s a big win for me. I do have to say that the author gave the readers a lovely little surprise in the end… oh wait.. I mean surprises… Guess you’re going to have to just read to find out.
Megan and Ben’s chemistry was seriously off the charts and I rooted so hard for them. Yeah, these type of stories has been done before, but there was just something so adorable between these two that it was so fun watching them deal with their wonderfully awesome mishap. They were also incredibly likable that it was so easy to care about what would happen to them. And that ending… that was really an amazing way to wrap up their story.
I was also very fond of Megan’s crazy family. They were needy, loud, rambunctious, and overly dramatic sometimes, but they all had Megan’s best interests at heart. You could just feel the love and admiration they had for each other and that was so endearing. Ben’s mother and grandmother were amazing too and I enjoyed the scenes with them. I actually wished that they had been more present in the story cause they seemed like interesting and wonderful characters.
This book swept me off my feet and had me soaring through plenty of heartwarming, sexy and swoontabulous feels. Accidentally in Love with the Pilot was a lot of fun to read and Ben and Megan were just so adorably cute together. If you love easy to read romantic comedies with a lot of sweetness and little spice, humor, charm, and the crazy butterflies, then this might just be the perfect read for you.
I received an advance reader copy of this book from the publisher via Netgalley. All thoughts, opinions, and swoons are my own.
Megan has no time for a life of her own. She is on call day and night for her family. Picking up the dry cleaning, taking kids to recitals, fixing costumes, you name it she does it. But on the night of her birthday bash she meets a handsome stranger and wakes up with a ring on her hand.
Ben is a pilot for the Navy. He is an introvert who is passed over for promotions due to his lack of interest in socialization. He was supposed to be camping on his leave, but his friend stood him up and now he is on his own. Trying to be more social he agrees to deliver a birthday cake to a party. What he doesn't count on is waking up married.
Megan and Ben do not remember much after they had drinks at the bar. But one thing is for sure they are married. On a mission to find the chapel they got married in the two agree to stay married while he is on leave. Megan thinks her family is over the top and that Ben will disappear before his leave is over.
Wow this was such an interesting book. Not what I was expecting at all. The characters were unique and very interesting. The story line was exactly what I was expecting, it was the characters that made this story so unusual. I was intrigued from the first chapter.
Megan's family are over the top and demanding. They are crazy and loud. Megan is sweet and loves them all. Ben is quiet and reserved. He doesn't like huge crowds and withdraws into himself. He prefers to be alone and is perfectly content. That is until he meets Megan. These two were perfect for each other.
This story touched a soft spot in my heart. My son is very much like Ben. He has what you would call Aspergers. It is a social disorder. He does not like big crowds and prefer to be alone. He is independent and can take care of himself, but would rather stay home instead of hang out with friends. So this story felt very real to me in that aspect. Very easy to relate to.
Overall this book was an excellent read. With its steady pace the story flows nicely. The characters are not just fun, but interesting. You will not want to put the book down once you pick it up. A definite page turner. If you are looking for a quick easy read, then this book is for you.
Cute, sexy and fun, this enjoyable read is perfect for when you need a light-hearted escape. Megan is funny and likeable, with a few deep issues regarding her family and needing to continually prove how helpful and indispensable she is. While Ben is just adorable, shy and sexy and trying so hard to help without making things worse.
They’re great together and I loved how they handled their fake marriage – mostly by not handling it and enjoying living together too much to stop. There really isn’t much else to say about it. It’s cute, Megan’s family are a literal circus, Ben is lovely and I really liked how things were sorted out in the end. No, there are no surprises, but that’s not always a bad thing.
Perfect for a pick me up. I look forward to seeing what this author comes up with next.
This book is filled with so much fun it had me chuckling all the way through. You've got a drunken forgotten Vegas wedding - maybe, the craziest of crazy families, and the normally very reserved fight pilot plunked right in the middle of all the chaos. These characters will grab your heart immediately especially Ben. He finds himself in some hilarious situation but he just keeps plugging along taking it all in stride. If your looking for a fun, lighthearted, but oh so sexy relaxing read you found it. I think everyone will enjoy this one.
This is a wonderful book that made me smile....from the drunken wedding to the literal family circus, this novel was a delight to read. The author made me fall in love with the characters and care about their story - from Ben, the shy fighter pilot, to Megan, the "coordinator" of the circus, they were wonderful.
If you enjoy the genre, you will love this book. Put this one at the top of your TBR list. The author is on my must read authors' list.
I loved every last page of this book it is a laugh out loud really sweet and cute read and I would recommend it to all but if you don't want your family to think you have lost the plot maybe find a quiet nook to read it in. Once I started reading this I just could not put it down such a great read with wonderful characters I would recommend it to all.
Teri’s my friend and I always buy her books. But she’s not the reason I read them. If you love contemporary romance, you’ll love hers. I’m not a fan of the genre and I enjoy them a lot. Lots of romance with some funny parts.
Megan Shuttlekrump is a devoted family member and would do anything for those she loves. It's why she doesn't have time for a relationship. However, when the gorgeous Ben Rutledge enters her life, she realizes her life will never be the same, especially when she discovers they're married. Will Megan give Ben a chance or will she walk away from her shot at happy ever after because she'll never be able to give Ben the time and attention he needs as her husband?
What a highly entertaining and charming read Ms. Stanley has delivered in this book where the main characters were fantastic, especially from the moment they were introduced to each other; the dialogue was compelling and had me laughing at times because the heroine's family are a bit full-on when they're all together and protective of the heroine, which is proven with their reaction to what they believe is her acting out-of-character. She's always the reliable and sensible one and it felt at times they took her for granted because she's always doing things for them.
As for the dialogue, it was intense due to the main characters back stories, but I loved the playful banter between the hero and heroine at times, as they deal with her family's quirkiness and the fact that they're married. Will they stay married? Will they ever discover what happened the night they were married? Moreover, the heroine is resilient, courageous, kind, caring and I liked that she would do anything for family, especially since they've done so much for her. While the hero, he's confident, charming, has an interesting career and I loved how determined he was to win the heroine over when it comes to their marriage because she's the first woman to spark something inside of him in a while. I also enjoyed the love he had for his job.
Overall, Ms. Stanley has delivered a superb read in this book where the chemistry between this couple was intense; the romance was delightful and had me loving this couple together; and the ending left me completely satisfied with how things turned out for Megan and Ben. However, it was the epilogue that wrapped this story up perfectly because of the surprise the heroine has for the hero when it comes to how hectic their future is going to be. I would recommend Accidentally in Love with the Pilot by Teri-Anne Stanley, if you enjoy the accidental marriage trope, the mysterious strangers trope or books by authors Kadie Scott, Stefanie London, Kira Archer and Heidi Betts.
Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher and author for an ARC copy of the ebook. As always, an honest review.
Accidentally in Love with the Pilot was a bit underwhelming. Don't get me wrong, I still enjoyed the story, but it wasn't quite what I expected. Based on the title and summary I thought it would be a typical sexy contemporary romance strongly featuring an alpha male who is a pilot. What we got was a guy who happened to be in town on leave. The pilot aspect really didn't figure into the story. He could have had almost any other career, and the story would be the same. A missed opportunity in my opinion.
Also Ben is an introvert, which we don't see as much in romance novels. I quite enjoyed this as it gave the character and book some depth. I also liked that there was a good mix of romance and friendship between Megan and Ben. He truly does encourage her to pursue her dreams while respecting her wishes. The book works well as contemporary fiction and not just romance.
However, the romance aspect wasn't as great as the rest. There was plenty of sexy time, but the reason Ben and Megan are together feels forced. It moved so fast and didn't feel at all like a natural progression. For me, it took away from the book.
Overall, I enjoyed the friendship between Ben and Megan. The character growth was enjoyable and added many layers. However the romance didn't live up to my expectations.
Ben is a Navy pilot and on leave and ready for his month long camping trip with his friend. Already in Las Vegas and packed for the trip his friend bombs out after reuniting with his girlfriend and as a favor to her, Ben agrees to deliver a birthday cake to a party at a nearby casino. Amber reminds him to make sure he lights the candles before he enters the room. Ben sets off to find the casino and the right room for the party and through one simple mishap the gold horned, rainbow pooping unicorn cake ends up on the floor. It's Megan's birthday, a day she doesn't really look forward too, because her family is a circus, literally and figuratively. Ben and Megan end up spending time together and have drinks later that night as well. Since Ben got a room in the hotel for the night, not sure of how he was going to spend the rest of his leave, he and Megan get totally blasted and wake up with rings on their fingers. Neither remember getting married. They remember going out for breakfast sometime during the night, the rest is a blank. Megan runs the family from the management end, not only that, she handles personal matters for them, problem solver extraordinaire. She's got her own reasons for doing that, but her passion is in costume design and also makes the costumes for the family. She wants to branch out but is afraid her family would see that as a betrayal and also her lack of confidence. Not only do they have the missing marriage moments to solve , they also have a broken condom issue to deal with. Ben promises he will do whatever he needs to do and he means that. Megan has always been left. Ben is extremely shy and an introvert and her family can be totally overwhelming. Every man she's brought around has beelined because they couldn't handle her family. Ben doesn't run. He ends up spending his leave with her, getting to know her better and cooking for her. I really liked Ben, his character was stand up. Megan was a little on the weak side. I'll leave it at that. Her need to be needed overshadowed at times the good things about her. She and Ben really made a great couple. There are a couple bumps in the relationship and when Ben is called out of a mission he had to go, telling her he'd be back. Her response, "don't bother" Seriously? I think my jaw dropped on that one. The story still continues to unfold from there. Finish with a Waltzing Wallace flourish? We'll see. You have to read the book to find out. And for Ben, quietly understated delicious Ben.
*arc from netGalley and Entangled for an honest review. All thoughts are my own.*
This isn’t the first book that has set its stall out on the waking up in Vegas married trope and it certainly won’t be the last but is it one of the best? Well, I would say that it is certainly in the top half of the ones I’ve read anyway, the author put her own stamp on the whole scenario and for that I was grateful. Pilot, Ben is on leave from his career with the Navy and for the most part is looking forward to spending some time with his friend, camping and cutting loose, getting back to nature and away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life… sounds ideal. But as always, the best-laid plans never seem to go to plan and after resolving some domestic issues, Ben is left high and dry when his friend pulls out of their trip in favour of spending time with his girlfriend. He pulls one last favour from Ben and it is through that good deed that Ben meets birthday girl Megan. They may have met as a result of an unfortunate mishap but they hit it off, enjoying not just each other’s company but also a few more drinks than they should have…they may have found the morning a lot easier to cope with if they had eased up a little because whilst what happened the night before may appear to be a bit of a blur, what is as clear as day is the fact that they are both sporting beautifully shiny new wedding rings! Oh My! Since neither of them can remember what and when they managed to get their drunken selves wed, they have to decide on what they are going to do to resolve the situation. And just as they are getting to grips with that little nugget of joy they are confronted by the fact that they may have a much more long-term problem to deal with after they spot the evidence that the consummation of their nuptials might not have been as protected as they had hoped. I thought Ben was a wonderful character, a man of honour that was determined to show Megan that no matter how the future panned out, he would do whatever he had to do and with a month’s vacation available to him, they decide to spend the time together, getting to know each other and waiting for nature to take its course. During this time, they get to know each other better and it was lovely to see what they had unfold. For the most part, they were perfect for each other, although at times, I couldn’t help but think that Megan was unnecessarily catty! Of course, not everything is smooth sailing, but I loved that they were willing to take the rough with the smooth and try. Would I recommend the book, yes, I would without hesitation, it was the perfect Sunday afternoon read, you need to meet Ben!
This book has on-page sex and some swearing including a handful of f-bombs (less than a dozen in the whole book). If those things are going to cause you to leave a bad review, you should skip this one.
There's no denying that the trope of “woke up married in Vegas” has been done a lot of times in the romance genre, and I admit that it isn't really my favorite plot, but Ms. Stanley did such an excellent job with the relationship between Ben and Megan that it didn't feel like the same-old-same-old story. It felt like a fresh and fun take on it. I loved the way that the characters developed a really organic relationship before they committed to each other beyond their initial oops-we're-married moments. The things they bonded over and the talks that they had were all so natural that I couldn't help but root for them to get their happily ever after. And that epilogue? Happy sigh territory. I loved it!
Something Ms. Stanley does so well is infuse her books with not only great turns of phrase and interesting things happening, but she writes with so much humor that you can't help but laugh as you read along. I highlighted so many funny moments (oh my gosh the “slightly frantic” conversation in the bathroom doorway the morning after slayed me) that I wanted to revisit after reading that I can't even count them all. Real life is so stressful and full of angst these days that I love it when a book makes me laugh and this one did many, many times.
The side characters in this story were also so great. They added a lot to the story, but they never overwhelmed it or made it hard to enjoy. While the Shuttlekrumps weren't perfect, I thought they were really hilarious and their love for Megan was undeniable, even if they showed it in unconventional ways. There were also such great little tips of the cap to Ms. Stanley's previous books. You do not have to have read them to enjoy this book (although you should because they're so good!) but if you have read them, the little mentions will make you smile.
I would highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a “woke up married” story or to anyone who just enjoys a funny and sweet unconventional romance story. You won't be disappointed by this one!
Wow, this book had a lot more substance to it that I thought it would going into it.....and the humor....so many fun, laugh out loud moments! :)
Ben Rutledge is an extremely shy, fighter pilot on leave for a month. He is suppose to be hanging with his best friend Trevor in Las Vegas but since he walked in on Trevor and his on-again/off-again girlfriend, Amber, in a very on-again way, Ben was at a loss. Amber asked him if he would do her a favor and drop off the birthday cake she made, which he quickly agreed to.
Imagine Ben's surprise when he delivers this rainbow unicorn cake to a casino and it is for a very sexy, beautiful lady who had certainly caught his attention. Next thing he knows he thrown into this crazy circus of a family....literally!
Megan Shuttlekrump is the manager to her family's circus act. They are a loud, crazy, colorful bunch but they are hers....at least since they adopted her and she would do anything for them.
After Megan's birthday party, her and Ben head to the casino bar where they have a little too much to drink. One thing leads to another and the next thing they know is that they wake up in bed together, with rings on their left hand! Too bad neither of them can remember what actually happened. The two of them decide to pretend they really are in love, at least for the next month while Ben is in town. Maybe during that time they can figure out how they ended up married and get it annulled.
During the month, Ben and Megan grow closer and each of them thinks maybe they should just stay married, but neither of them will tell the other their real feelings. Megan is convinced that Ben will grow tired of her crazy family and end up not wanting her. Ben is convinced that Megan will grow tired of his extreme shyness and not want him anymore. What these two didn't realize was they were both perfect for each other.
Overall I really enjoyed the road these two went on to get to their happy ending. It was filled with such fun, laugh out loud moments, as well as sweet and sexy times. This book was very fun and would recommend it.
I really loved reading Accidentally in Love with the Pilot by Teri Anne Stanley. This is a story of what happens when you wake up in bed with a man you met the night before and a wedding ring on your hand. It’s definitely a reminder that what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, or does it? While on leave, quiet, shy, reserved, and hot fighter pilot Ben was only helping out a friend when he agreed to deliver a cake to a birthday party, never expecting the Unicorn cake to be a for a sexy woman. Megan has no time for a boyfriend let alone a husband. She is too busy organizing, helping out, and taking care of her performing adoptive family. After a night of celebratory drinks wipes out both Ben and Megan’s memories they can’t figure out where, why or how they got married.
I loved how Ben tried to take care of Megan and get her to realize that if she wants to attain her own dreams she needed to let go of her obsession of taking care of everyone else’s needs instead of her own. Megan didn’t realize how much she, and her family, pulled Ben out of her shell. As these two sort of try to find which of the thousand or so chapels in Vegas married them they find themselves falling for one another. However, communication has never been high on either of their lists. The big questions is can Ben and Megan figure out if they want to stay married or live separately, forgetting each other?
Ms. Stanley wrote a wonderful, humorous, and sexy story that is not to be missed. She drew me into the lives of her characters, making me forget the world around me. Accidentally in Love with the Pilot is a fun, fast paced romance you don’t want to miss. This story is filled with sexual chemistry, fun dialogue, and endearing characters. I highly recommend this book to other readers.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
Accidentally In love With A Pilot is a light and easy to read story about a chance meeting and the subsequent outcome.
Ben is a fighter pilot who is on leave for a month. He is shy and avoids being in the limelight.
Megan is in the family entertainment business. She organises the events amongst a myriad of other business and family day to day occurrences.
There is a change of plans in Ben's organised life and he is suddenly in limbo. He is volunteered to deliver a birthday cake on behalf of a friend and this is where he meets Megan. Whilst having drinks at the bar, they exchange stories and find that they both have abandonment issues. What happens next is a mystery as when they wake up the next day, they have little to no recollections of the night before. The obvious rings on their fingers point to one conclusion. Megan loves her job and her family. Being tied to anyone is the last thing on Ben's mind. Can they resolve this most unexpected turn of events? If so, how?
Despite his shyness, Ben is a gentle and lovable person. He handles the situation wonderfully well, considering there might be other complications. Megan means well, but her constant denial and the need to please her family wears a little thin. It's not an unusual concept, but it's a fairly good story. Despite the family demands, their predicament and their jobs, Ben and Megan develop a good relationship. Even though they deny their true feelings during their time together, they have a happy ending.
I was kindly issued with an eARC and the views expressed are my personal opinion.
A fun quick read. The book starts out with Meghan celebrating her birthday with her “crazy/needy” family in a casino which then leads to her meeting Ben who attempts to deliver her birthday cake. Megan and Ben are then left to themselves, where one thing leads to another and the next thing they know they are waking up in bed together with rings on their fingers. From then on they attempt to find the chapel they got married at in order to end their “marriage.” I did feel like this book was a bit predictable at times but it redeemed itself with such a cute ending. It was a bit irritating that they both kept trying to read one another’s mind rather than trying to ask questions. I loved the premise of the story though, it was definitely HEA, no cheating and I feel like it was insta love. If you are looking for a quick summer fun read then happy reading!
“I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.”
This was a good read. The writing flowed well, and I liked the characters for the most part. Meg was a little to much of a doormat for my tastes. She let her family walk all over her, and she never stood up for herself. I understand that it came from a place of feeling unworthy, but come on. If grown adults can't get their own dry cleaning, something is wrong. They should have never put everything on her that they did. I kept waiting for Meg to tell them to get their own stuff, but it never happened. Ben was a great guy. Being shy was a pretty big part of his character, but it was never told to Megan. She kept assuming he didn't like her family, but he never came out and told her it was just his anxiety. The ending was good, and I was happy to see them get the HEA. This was a first for me from this author, but I would be willing to give her another read. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book.
"Best not to get too attached to strange men who come bearing flaming unicorns."
There's nothing like a rainbow disaster of a flaming unicorn cake to strike up a conversation. And that's exactly how Navy pilot, Captain Ben Rutledge meets Vegas show manager for her family's act, The Waltzing Wallaces, Megan Shuttlekrump when he drops her birthday cake on the floor. Quiet, solitary and reserved meets center-of-everything-twenty-four-seven-do-it-all-wonder-woman of chaos. When Ben and Meg wake up with wedding bands and no memory of getting married, the countdown is on and the search begins, but neither of their lives will be the same.
Surprising, fun, quirky, sweet and sexy hilarity. Accidentally in Love with the Pilot delivers refreshing twists to the classic drunken escapades and accidentally married in Vegas trope.
I received this book via NETGALLEY in exchange for my honest review.
Ben and Megan's book was a breath of fresh air. When Ben's trip changes plans and he helps out a friend with a delivery he comes face to face with his soon to be wife. One night in Vegas leads to a drunken wedding and a month to find out where they got married.
Megan is a native to Vegas working as part of her family's show. But she is always doing something for everyone else. It made the read more interesting to peel back the layers of Megan. Ben and Megan are opposites but fit so nicely together.
I enjoyed seeing the growth of a real relationship. The antics of the family members. The realism that the author achieved with this book.
I received an advanced copy of this book from NEtGalley in exchange for an honest review.
Accidentally in Love With the Pilot was just what I needed at the time. Light and sweet, Stanley wrote an incredibly cute story with what might be considered an overused trope, but still managed to keep a smile on my face throughout the entire book. I really enjoyed reading about Megan and Ben, and loved the steady pacing of the book. Admittedly, I was not a huge fan of our heroine, Megan, but loved the hero enough to make up for that. Overall, anyone looking for a sweet romantic comedy will love Stanley's newest novel!
This is a story of one night of drinking leading two people to waking up hungover and married. Ben is a straight laced Navy pilot. Nothing means more. However when his plans for leave end up with him delivering a birthday cake things wont be the same.
Megan is used to chaos with her family. Meeting Mr. Right is never easy. They all leave especially after meeting her circus of a family. But there is something about Ben. When the two decide to work together to piece together the night they will become more real than they expect.
Its a cute romance that two people who wouldnt work just fit together. I enjoyed it and hinestly its a nice feel good book.
