Bedfellows

Rate this book
I wasn't looking to fall for one man. Let alone two... Sullivan and Will are as close as two friends can be. Growing up in the system forced them to rely on each other, and they've become accustomed to sharing everything—including women. Now they're ready for more. To find love. To start a family. To see the dreams they've shared since childhood come true. Apparently I tick off every box on their list—brains, beauty, and sass. I never hesitate to put both men in their places—which they find sexy as hell. One problem, I'm a traditional girl, with traditional values—one man, one woman, till death do us part—kind of values. They're willing to work to prove how very right the three of us could be, but what happens next is anyone's guess...

When I found out one my favorite steamy writers was releasing an even hotter book under a pen name, I jumped at the chance to read it. And what's better than reading a steamy book? LISTENING TO IT! The steaminess in this story is on a whole different level to the author's other books. But it wasn't all sexy, it had an actual story I enjoyed as well!

Will and Sullivan are not only best friends and business partners, they're all each other has in this world. Growing up in the foster care system together, neither one of them has family. They are closer than close and share everything. A home, a business, and even the women they choose to be with. They're not the type of guys that just bring home random women and share them. They like to be in a committed relationship. And when Sullivan meets Adrienne, they know she's the perfect girl. The question is, is she cut out for this lifestyle?

Adrienne was raised in a traditional way so being with both Will and Sullivan is a hard pill for her to swallow at first. Still, she finds her self enamored by them both. With time, she can't imagine her life without either of them. But there are a lot of obstacles in their path... her family being one of them.

Bedfellows was narrated by Ava Erikson, Jason Clarke, and Jacob Morgan (one of my FAVORITE narrators!) All three of them did a fantastic job voicing this trio. If you like audio books, I can't recommend this one enough. It's so so hot and the voices of these three make it all the better!

If you're looking for a short, sweet, and super hot read, pick up Bedfellows! I enjoyed this one lots!

Sweetest ménage I’ve ever read.

Yes this is a committed ménage romance. There is some hot and steamy business of course, but this story is also emotional and romantic. It feels like a real love story between three people, who are trying to navigate how to handle being in a relationship and loving more than one person.

I know this author used a pen name for this book since it’s way different than her other books, but I have to say this is one of my absolute favorites from her HANDS DOWN.

Now will we get a story for a certain person who may or may not know their own sexuality??? I’m only passively begging for it haha.

Sullivan and Will are a package deal. You can’t have one without the other. After deciding to open themselves up to find a woman who can fulfill their dreams of truly being a family they have a chance encounter with Adrienne. Sullivan is gregarious, charming and chatty. Will is the epitome of the “strong silent type.”

Adrienne Edwards’ life literally collides with two of the hottest men she’s ever met. She’s a successful business woman who’s having the day from hell. After drinks and some serious flirting she can’t figure out which one she likes more. She never would have imagined she could have both.

The author puts a disclaimer at the beginning of the book and it is absolutely warranted. This trio was going at it early and often in all combos and positions. It’s super hot stuff so keep your BOB nearby.

This is a quick and easy read without serious angst or drama. Grab this one for the beach or sipping wine on a hammock.

One of my favorite guilty pleasures is to read a ménage romance. I love nothing more than getting wrapped up in a compelling story of three people falling in love and figuring out how to make things work between them—in and out of the bedroom. And I did fall in love with Adrienne, Sullivan and Will while reading Bedfellows.

Bedfellows is a quick and sexy read. And is really the story of making an alternate relationship work in real life—especially when there are so many people judging them and unsupportive of their choices.

I loved the connection between Sullivan and Will. That they’re the best of friends—best friends since they were little and living together in foster care. They made their own family between the two of them, and they wanted nothing more than to create a family of three with their perfect woman. A woman who would also be their lover and the mother of their future children. Sullivan and Will have so much love to give after being denied of love most of their lives.

And they’ve focused their eyes on Adrienne, who literally ran into Sullivan. Their meet-cute turned into something so much more. The three of them together are amazing, for the most part. Their sexy times are Kindle melting! Adrienne and her doubts about how much she and Sullivan and Will cared about each other did sometimes get in the way of the story for me, but overall, I loved how their romance developed and flourished! ~ Missy, 4 stars

Maybe more like a 2 1/2 star because it was a bit more than okay. And mostly because I liked Will and Sullivan more than I liked them with Adrienne. Otherwise, this book was basically a series of sexual encounters. The actual "story" seemed to be summarized in most parts. For instance, they guys will say they're going to make a big gesture, but we won't see what the gesture is. The next scene, will be "oh, this is what we did and how it turned out" without any added details. So in that regards, it was lacking.

A triad relationship is still somewhat taboo in terms of acceptance. I was really happy the author addressed this and other realities of what families struggle with when everything isn't cookie cutter 'normal'. The characters had great chemistry and were well developed in the story. Adrienne had been pretty sheltered, growing up in a conservative Texas home. She's shocked, and not sure what to think when two gorgeous men she met during a parking lot mishap ask her to go out with them. It doesn't take long for Will and Sullivan to convince her to give it a try. Watching these three fall first in lust then in love was a delight. It's not your average dirty talking menage book where both men are unrealistically billionaires.

I love how each of them I had real jobs and worked hard for what they had. A gorgeous salon owner and two handsome guys who flip houses for a living.

I have to say, this author choice to use a pseudonym to write this story, while unusual should not affect it's success. I believe this book will be a success despite not having her New York Times best-selling author name on the cover. There's an interesting story, told with a few realistic challenges thrown in; and involving three people very much in love. Who knew a menage story could be so heartwarming . I absolutely loved the epilogue. This is definitely a 5 star read. One-click that book and give it a try.

WHAT A VERY SEXY READ WE GET IN BEDFELLOWS BY LOLA LEIGHTON! Anyone that knows me KNOWS I love a HOT and STEAMY menage romance and OH GOOD HEAVENS do I get a GOOD one with this book. I D-E-V-O-U-R-E-D this book in just a little over a day. I was completely into it in every way. I loved the characters the MEGA WATT heat and the devastatingly dreamy plot. This is what fantasies are made of right here and I felt like my whole heart and soul was digging every bit of this naughty story.

Menage romances are not only sexy to me, but something that completely intrigues me. The relationship between our two hunks and special woman was mesmerizing. I felt like every issue you could imagine a triad couple would go through were brought up in this book. This read was and is captivating and HOOOOOOOOT AS ALL GET OUT! What. A. Book.

Bedfellows gets a SEXY FIVE ALMOST TOO HOT TO HANDLE STARS!

So, to begin, some background information.

I normally stray very far away from anything involving more than two within a relationship. However, I have been pushing myself to be more adventurous with my reading. I'm becoming more tolerant of threesomes, but only if they serve one of two purposes: it furthers the story; or it creates character development (i.e Corrupt by Penelope Douglas).

Threesomes, open relationships, menages… anything and everything about these types of relationships don't interest me, because they are odd. Not odd as in inhumane or unnatural… odd, because I don't understand or connect with anything pertaining to this kind of lifestyle.

More bodies means more limbs. And to be honest, my little brain cannot keep up with many limbs.

Monogamous relationships, in literature and real life, are preferred. I remember reading this trilogy years ago where the main female character ends up with both men in the end. You spend the first two books reading these eligible bachelors’ dating profiles, having to choose between them, only to be forced into accepting both candidates as winners without any warning.

I DNF’d so hard my head spun.

From this experience, I learned I hate choosing between two characters, or anything resembling a dreaded love triangle. I generally form unbreakable attachments, usually towards the initial candidate and despise feeling forced into accepting every eligible person, because there's almost always something wrong with one of the characters (I understand this is sometimes done to push readers towards the main love interest).

In saying that, Bedfellows is an interesting representation of what ménage relationships can entail. Both men are self-assured and brimming with complete confidence. They're a package deal that says, “both of us or none of us", meaning there is no silent competition or random heartache because someone is stewing in jealousy. You aren't forced into choosing between one of two men.

Both of them kissing and fondling me? It was like a gateway drug to menage. And the bastards knew it.

What pulled this story down is that it went from being about Adrienne dating and eventually falling in love with two men, to being about two men who dabble in each other in between being with Adrienne. It felt as if this menage could only work, or function, or even make sense if Will and Sullivan became a “couple" within the threesome. And everytime they came together, Adrienne was excluded.

For me, Bedfellows went from being MMF to MM/MMF because for whatever reasons (reasons that were never explained), neither Will nor Sullivan would do anything with Adrienne without the other person. Some background information on Sullivan and Will, specifically as to why the way they are (other than being orphans) would have given them more substance.

...somewhere deep down inside of me, I was still very much a traditional girl - a one man, one woman, till death do us part - kind of girl.

One other thing that baffled me is Adrienne’s easy acceptance of everything inside this relationship. She seemed to be easygoing about every facet, excluding significant amounts of character growth and transformation that would have made this story more angst driven.

I will say, the scenes with these three were quite scandalous and scorching, especially that shower scene. And this made my nine hour flight flyby (pun not intended).

Enjoyable, but just a bit too sweet for me. Definitely menage light =)
There were three narrators for the audiobook, but I could not tell the two male voices apart most of the time. Minimal angst/drama.

I was extremely excited when I heard this author was branching out of her normal writing style with a bit more edge. While at first I was a bit put off that she wanted to write under a different name, after reading this book, I totally understand why. Some of her normal readers may not be into erotic and ménage but this fan is and I loved this book. Dare I even say - I wish there a bit more ménage scenes in this book.

To say that this book is hot, would be an understatement. While I do wish there were a bit more ménage scenes in the book, what Lola gave us was AMAZING!! I had to fan myself at times the scenes were that great that!

Will and Sullivan are looking for a woman who can complete their ménage-a-trois relationship and don't want anyone looking for a good time or some action on the wild side. They wanted a committed female who is ok with this life-style. So when they approach Adrienne with this relationship, she is for a whole new treat.

While I enjoyed how they approached everything with Adrienne and they all discovered new things about themselves and between them all, the book moved a bit fast for my taste. I wish there was more of a "learning curve" for Adrienne because she seemed to accept everything completely and then the story progresses quickly from there spanning anywhere from weeks to months to even years. I felt there were a lot of important growing pains in this relationship that would have been new growth for them all.

Overall, it was a hot and sexy read - I just wish there was some further development in the plot and that things played out in a smoother way and definitely some more ménage scenes, especially after things got a bit hotter near the end.

Lola Leighton is a well-known author who decided to write steamier books and try something new for her aka a menage book. I was very excited about this new release since I am a fan of the author and I like books about triads. In some ways, it was better than your usual menage book and in others, it needed to be worked on a little more. For example, I don't remember ever reading a book where the heroine was worrying about whether or not she would love only one of the men. On the bad side of the book, I kept getting confused about the timeline of the events and how much time passed between the time jumps. It was abrupt and it made me feel like some pieces of the story were missing. The family drama wasn't needed and it made things worse. I also feel like the sex scenes were lacking something and I wanted them steamier and more detailed. It was like we only scratched the surface.

These were the bad parts of the book. There were plenty more that were good and made the scale tip to the positive side. I liked the main characters. The three of them worked for me and they had a good synergy. The guys were already two connected pieces of a puzzle and they were waiting for the right woman. I was very happy to see that there was no drama between the two of them when it came to their woman and their developing feelings. The angst is low and the characters don't overreact most of the time and so the book doesn't feel like a soap opera. I liked the story and especially the part where the heroine noticed that one of the men had his hair cut by another person and she talked to him about it. It's not something you usually read about and it stood out to me.

Overall, the book was good and I liked it. Some parts could have been better, but still, it was enjoyable. I was expecting a hotter novel and I hope that in one of her future releases the author will make sure that happens.

It’s been a while since I’ve read a mmf book. This one made sense in the world of today and at the same time a great story line behind it all. But best of all had an HEA.

I'm a HUGE fan of this author - and I'm SUPER CRAZY EXCITED she's branched out into something a little naughtier with a delicious HEA. Everyone deserves love! Lola Leighton knows how to deliver!!!

Will and Sullivan *fans self* these MEN are divine! Together, they're perfect, a complete package. Deliriously beautiful, charming, selfless, true gentlemen. And they know what they want. A woman to complete their relationship. Yes peeps, this is the story of an MFM relationship but it's so much more. Lola Leighton knows how to inject heart into every story line. Every scene gave me the tingles.

There were 2 things that I didn't love: the story moved REALLY quick without time references. I was a little confused how much time had past at seemingly important parts. Also, the story was a little too quick through parts. Sections that I would have loved to dive into were brushed over.

Overall, I will always read anything Lola puts out, without questions. As a first read, I feel like the next ones will only get better and hawter!

Yep. If an MMF can be sweet and loving, this is the one. Sullivan, WIll, and Adrian are an unlikely trio, but they work. They're sweet, loving, caring, and totally hot together.

This is a feel good romance. There isn't much conflict and the steamy scenes are steamy. It's one of those you read (or listen to) when you want to enjoy a book. No angst, minimal conflict, steamy sexytimes.

And there's MM action. And MFM action. It's a good time.

Just how does a traditional girl in every sense of the word when it comes to relationships and commitment find herself with two bedfellows…two beyond sexy men who want to share every part of her at the same time?!?!

The answer may not be an obvious one at the start of Lola Leighton’s new release, Bedfellows, but once readers are introduced to Will and Sullivan and see firsthand their genuine feelings for her and their desire to show her every day that they can’t get enough of her body, her mind, or her heart, we become their biggest supporters and hope against hope that these thoughtful and intelligent men will prove just how good they all are together and why taking a chance on their chemistry and exploring their connection can’t be anything but right despite how wrong others believe it to be.

Adrienne, Will, and Sullivan’s story confronts the reality of how many people in society have judgmental and derogatory views on what they consider ‘abnormal’ relationships. Leighton doesn't pretend that things will be easy for this threesome; in fact, it’s a major point of contention for Adrienne and she feels the pressure of that judgment, even as she attempts to work through it, accepting her feelings for both men and giving herself over to them in a way that will fill her life with more love and passion than she’s ever experienced.

I really like this sexier and kinkier side of a well-known romance writer; the steamy scenes will definitely leave readers panting and perhaps even wanting two alpha males of their own to have as permanent bedfellows until death do them part.

This is a pseudo name of a New York Times best selling author. I wish I knew who the author was, but I’m sure a quick search could figure it out.

I absolutely adored this book. I think I smiled the entire time.
The way the author wrote this ménage relationship was so fresh, realistic, and beautiful. You see real ups and downs on societal views and it was all handled perfectly.
This book is not only about a ménage relationship between Sullivan, Will, and Adrienne. It is also about the self discovery these characters experience.
From overcoming fears on what conservative families will view and accept, to hidden feelings that were shot down and ignored for years in fear of losing something in return.

Reading this book made me realize that four hands are definitely better than two, lol. I definitely got jealous of Adrienne with her attentive and sexy men constantly at her beck and call.
I don’t know why I don’t read this type of romance more often. I need to find more books like this. Truly a fantastic read.
I want more now!

I found Bedfellows to be a unique romance - it was a bit of a slow burn considering the taboo premise. While the development of the relationship between Will, Sullivan, and Adrienne is entertaining (and sweet and romantic in a way that I was not expecting, but was overjoyed to see), I think the highlight was seeing how Will and Sullivan's relationship evolved and how Adrienne was the catalyst for it. I also appreciated how the author did not sugarcoat Adrienne's family's reaction to their unconventional relationship and really delved into the turmoil that brought about. I'm really looking forward to seeing what Lola Leighton releases next, especially considering that this was so different from what we've gotten from her under her other pen name! 4 out of 5 wine glasses.

Audible version.
The book was well written and the narrator did a great job. However 3 stars is the best I can honestly give it. It’s an average read that sadly fell short of its potential. Below are my cons & alongside possible spoilers.

My cons:
The fade to black sex scenes took the fun out of reading this MMF romance. The story felt less personal. I enjoy reading a story & becoming immersed in the feelings & details of the relationship. This felt like I’m being told about the story. As if I’m chatting with acquaintances & they’re sharing their love story with me. Yes it includes feelings but it’s mostly a glossed over for public consumption story. Each character telling me how they met what they felt but keeping the “real” relationship & sexual details private. It wasn’t sexy at all. At the end of the story I wanted to thank them for sharing congratulate them on their happiness & go on with my day.

I wasn’t a fan of the pregnancy & 3 kids either. Why authors feel marriage & pregnancy should be included even when it’s not a necessity is an annoyance. They ruin a perfectly good story by insisting a female character can’t reach a HEA without the traditional marriage & kids. It’s especially Prosperous when the relationship isn’t traditional at all.

I think this was my first MMF/MFM book where they're in a relationship and I quite like it. I think I'm gonna search for more books like this. I don't like love triangles but this wasn't that. All three were in a relationship together.

I LOVED the narration. All three narrators are three of my favorites narrators; Ava Erickson, Jason Clarke and Jacob Morgan (who also narrates as Zachary Webber!). I picked this book up because of the narrators. I'd never heard of this book until yesterday when I was bored and searching for books on Audible to listen to. I do wish though that Jason Clarke had more "audio time" (?). He had a few chapters here and there and not at all as much as Ava and Jacob/Zachary. So that's one thing I missed. :(

I also found the "time jumps" here and there odd. A scene/chapter could end one way, making it look like it would continue in the next, and then all of a sudden it's the day or several days after. I found it weird and confusing, thinking I'd missed something so I had to rewind and re-listen to see if I had missed something.

I thought this author had more books like this out but I can see this is it for now and while Lola is a pseudonym, this author has a lot of books coming out and books that are planned so I totally get it.

Gah this was so good and was everything I expected as no surprise that this author can write. This author hit it out of the ballpark. I liked the honesty and realness of having a ménage today world. The ups and downs of being outsiders because the lifestyle choices that you have made.

This book is on a different level. The audio book is the way to go , you won’t regret it. The three narrators work well together to bring this contemporary ménage to life and it’s treat listening to those steamy scenes been brought to life. It brings plenty of evoking images and I couldn’t image having the same response reading this book.
Willl and Sullivan are best friends who have spent a lifetime together even since they met. It’s been them against the world since they have no one else. Starting from nothing to now , the men have everything they wanted. Except the girl of their dreams who understand their needs . These guys don’t’ tip toe around their wants. They want nuclear family but on their terms
These two are sweet guys and from the moment, they came bursting on the scene, you know these are the kind of guys you take home to met the parents. They don’t waste time casually dating, they are searching for the one.
Adrienne was an interesting choice since she wanted the nuclear family traditionally but Leighton did work her magic. Slowly and surely we see things unfolded and gives us hope for the unexpected. Will this be more?
BedFellows is abeautiful story with steam. Bedfellows is everything I wanted from a book like this and more. It a hot little story that you need to sink your teeth into asap as you won’t regret it. There something indescribable about this story. Only listening will make you understand and appreciate this story truly for what it is . Leighton sure can write another story like this as I will listen to them and gush about it til this no tomorrow cos it offers an interesting story with more just a little steam.

FULL REVIEW to come on Release Day..... This was so good and sexy...definitely look forward to more books by Lola Leighton!!

FULL REVIEW Now Posted::
When I found out this New York Times Bestselling Author was going to be writing a book that is outside my comfort zone, I knew I had to try it.

I absolutely love this author and everything she creates. Bedfellows was no different!!! I loved that she decided to branch out and give us an unconventional love story, proving that everyone deserves love.

I will warn readers that this is a Menage Love Story, so if you aren’t comfortable reading about M/F/M or even M/M situations, then this isn’t the book for you. Lola explores what it is like to develop a menage trio and the trials and tribulations they face, both within their triangle and in the community. I really thought she hit some strong points of what goes through many people’s minds when they think of this type of love story.

Bedfellows is a standalone novel told in multiple POV’s. I loved this storyline and the characters we are introduced to. I wasn’t sure how this story was going to play out, but I loved how this story unfolded. I was immediately sucked into the story. I didn’t want to put it down. I read this book in less than a day. I thought the pace and flow of the story worked well. Although there were times when a new chapter began that I felt we lost some time and was scratching my head, but it didn’t take away from enjoyment of this book.

In this story we follow this unique love story of Will, Sullivan and Adrienne. Will and Sullivan have been best friends since they were very young and they do everything together….literally!!!! So when they run into Adrienne, or should I say when Adrienne runs into them….Literally, Sullivan is anxious to see if she would be willing to join them in a committed relationship. Will and Sullivan are the perfect man we are all looking for. What one is lacking the other picks up and make the perfect package!!! I melted when I met both of these Heroes. I loved their dynamic and how they incorporated Adrienne into the mix. I also loved Adrienne….she was the perfect heroine for these two guys. She loved them openly and with an open heart, but also made them realize things even they didn’t see.

I would 100% recommend this book to anyone who is a fan of a menage romance. Even though this book was something I normally don’t read, I was pleasantly surprised at how comfortable Lola made reading this book for a menage newbie. I look forward to more of her books and her naughty mind ;)
