First: do not read this book if you have not read the first books as you will be totally bewildered. This is not a standalone. :-)
After Kayla in books 1-3 this one had a totally different heroine. Arianna is sweet and innocent and has some powers that are a gift and curse in one. Several men are willing to do anything to protect her. Including Alec and Sergei.
So we are back in the Omni Towers where everyone is trying to get along and build another tower. I did not really like the fact there is - again - a love triangle. I like knowing who the hero will be. Ari also seemed a bit of a tease.
But moving on! I liked the story and was satisfied with the ending. It did seem a bit of an in-between book. Kayla got 3 books and this was of course much shorter in comparison. I must admit I have a soft spot for Kayla, so there you have it.
I think the next ones will be focusing on 1 heroine again for more books and I think that is excellent as you get a more rounded story.
Overall very enjoyable! Side note: I love the covers.
*** I want to thank the author for gifting me an ARC without any obligations. This is my honest and voluntary review. ***
Best book of the series by far! Absolutely loved this book!! Ari is bloody amazing. I was blown away by Kayla but Ari and her story made me question what it would be like being her for real!! Can’t not wait for the next two books to release. Wishing I hadn’t started this series yet as the wait is going to kill me!
When Kayla's major arc had come to an end in the last book, I still found myself so curious about the rest of the world we'd been opened up to. Things between the Coalition and the Omnis was tenuous at best (heck, same goes for Kayla and most of the Omnis), and political plays were still threatening Alec's rule. Also, in accepting that the bond between himself and Kayla wasn't meant, Alec was now unattached and needed to find the same level of happiness that Kayla and Carl shared.
Despite Drop of Hope switching to multiple other points of view, I really enjoyed this book. All of Jamie's characters, even the villains, are fleshed out with intriguing motivations and back stories. Alec and Ari's history and budding courtship was a pleasant change of pace from the kind of relationship he and Kayla had. I also found myself intrigued with the balance of power within the Coalition and those fighting for their place amidst the new tower.
My only disappointment was that it seemed that, outside of some scoffing at Alec's position as High Council Leader, there wasn't any evidence of the turmoil we saw between different Inner Circle members at the end of the last book. Investigations were referenced, but with how things were left previously, I would have thought we'd see more issues threatening his rank. Seara was also largely MIA (though perhaps it could be said that she was busy putting out fires while Alec focused on Ariana). As there are still a couple books in the series, it's possible we'll learn what's been going on with all of that during this time, but I was just surprised that it was mostly missing here.
Either way, despite the change of pace and POVs, this was just as entertaining as the first three books and I'm immediately jumping into the next. I received a free copy of this book through BookSirens and am leaving my review voluntarily.
So glad to get back to this series after a break to read other work. This universe has to be one of my favourites.
This is book 4 in the Omni Towers series, and these must be read in order to fully experience the world building, story evolution and amazing character introduction.
I knew going into this that it was Ariana’s story. We were introduced to her in the previous book, and while lovely, she was no Kayla. I like my leading females to be sarcastic, sassy and know how to take care of themselves. Ariana was what I expected, sweet and fragile and lacked Kayla’s fire. (Yes I have a major girl crush on Kayla)
That’s not to say this wasn’t a really enjoyable read, as it really was. I’m thoroughly excited for the next two books in this series. I have a feeling a new female character introduced at the end, might be about to give Kayla a run for her money.
This was a sweet, romantic read with story revelations that can’t be missed. The political goings on within Coalition and Omni Tower Inner Circle are completely up in the air. Alec is having issues with the other council members and Sergei is having his own issues within the coalition. There is a lack of trust on both sides and some manoeuvring for power behind the scenes on both sides. Alec and Sergei are great leaders and only want what is best for their people. Same cannot be said for others vying to be in leadership positions. What’s great is it feels this book set the scene for what’s to come. I have a feeling this, believe it or not, is the calm before the storm.
I love Jamie’s writing. It’s clever, action packed, thrilling and compelling. Trust me it’s a struggle to put her books down at night, even when you know you are up early for work.
Thank you Jamie & BookSirens - I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Ohmigosh! This series has so many awesome characters! Once we found out what happens in Kayla's life in Book 3, it still wasn't enough for me. I wanted... no, I NEEDED to know what was going to happen to other characters in this series. Jamie Waters has blessed us with more. In Book 4, Drop of Hope, we learn more about Ariana Alivette and her twin brother Jason.
As we learned in a previous book in this series, Ariana is a very talented water channeler, but there is so much more to her than we originally thought. Unlike Kayla, she is sweet and innocent and yet still has an underlying strength that makes her totally awesome. Having been protected all her life and locked away by her father to keep others from finding out about her abilities, Ariana emerges in order to save a life. Once her abilities are discovered, others become obsessed with possessing her for their own gains.
The last couple of chapters had me cringing and then crying. Real tears filling my eyes and rolling down my cheeks. I had a tough time putting this one down. And now I want more. I can't wait to get my hands on the next book in this series.
I received an ARC from the author. All thoughts, opinions and ratings are my own.
Received as an ARC, this is an honest review. Ariana is an gifted water channeler, healer and empath that Alec asks to help with Kayla's training; a new tower is being built for the Coalition and other allied groups they rely on. Here she encounters Sergei and immediately drawn to him. The alliance with the Coalition is fragile and balanced upon utilizing the river;.Ariana agrees to use her energies to help make the river safer for those involved in the expedition, which drives her brother crazy because of their bond that equalizes her ever- increasing abilities. This is why she has been isolated due to a fear she could die young as an empath and could supposedly kill her by stretching her abilities too far. This adventure causes a near emotional disaster; and wearily for Ariana is the beginning of a crazy series of events. Jealous men, family mysteries, Coalition agendas threatened to consume Ariana's energies but her very life as well and any real chance at happiness of her own choosing. A very strange, Alice in Wonderland mess to unravel that Ariana struggles to navigates, where emotions can become toxic, dark and a key to this story. This Drop of Hope is one heck of adventure in this brilliant dystopian world.
This is book 4 or 5 if you count the brilliant prequel : Ruins of Fate which tells the story of Kayla's mother. The next 3 books are mostly a narration of Kayla and her links to the Omni Towers a weird civilization where people have odd talents (like manipulating fire/water or projecting thoughts). This 4th book focuses on a minor character from book 3 Arianna who can channel water as well as some other surprising talents. The author likes love triangles and again this time Alec is entangled with Arianna and others are too. Some of the names and characters are developed from previous tomes and the whole saga of life from the towers, to the ruin rats to the coalition is coalescing nicely. I gave this book 5 stars as per the first ones as the story flows well. I will keep on reading the next 2 books.

This is the fourth book in the series “The Omni Towers”. In this book we learn a lot more about Arriana (Ari) and Jason Alivette, twins who both have energy from water but, Ari is also a healer. She has a hard time being around people as she picks up on everyone else’s feelings and thoughts to the point it exhausts her. At this point it is essential that there be a strong water energy user working with the group in order to finish mapping out the river but, can it be Ari with her weakness?
There is still a lot of action and intrigue in this book. We can’t forget to include true love also. And then where would we be without some nefarious plotters that either aren’t sure having Omnis, Rug Rats, and the Coalition working together to ensure that a larger numbers of survivors is the best thing for each of them. There are doubters and haters in all three camps.
Will they be won over by all the possibilities of the future or will they let their past feelings get in the way of progress? Keep reading to find out more about the Omni Towers!

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. In this volume of the Omni Towers Series, this story describes the alliance amid of Coalition and Omni Tower’s citizens to face the scarcity of resources, especially energy and food. Asked to help on one of their projects, Arianna, a rather secluded empath with unseen strengths (only weakened by her own sensitivity) gets confronted with the Outer World and discovers her attraction to individuals of cultures others than Omni Towers citizens and experiences the development of a bonding relation with Alec the Chairman of the Omni Towers’ High Council in a world riddled by personal ambitions and power struggles. Adventure book with a little romance to it, or romance with little adventures and drama, it is well written with a lot of twist a turns. I enjoyed the reading, but would expect more development to the story of the dystopian world in next volume to be willing to go ahead with the series.
This book was different in the respect of we have delved deep into Kayla life and in here she is basically nonexistent as we follow another MC. This one is all about Arianna, whom we briefly met in the last book, and her non existent life up until now. It does have a couple guys wanting for her attention and goes back and forth between them. While there are new actions and activities the basic story is similar to Kayla's. This is a continuing story of setting up the River rats and the coalition people in their own towers.
Overall it is still a good story with a lot of action and drama. I liked learning about a newer character but am unhappy with the triad situation again. Although i had high hopes for Sergio. I listened to this on audio. Paige Reisenfeld does a super job narrating this one.
I really enjoyed this story. It was a continuation from the previous three books but featuring a new leading lady. I liked the previous leading lady Kayla, but I also thought Ariana was pretty amazing too. She was strong in her own unique ways and also had a huge heart. While I still found myself having that moment of wishing this was a different kind of story with all the men vying for her attention, I was happy with her ultimate choice. It felt like the right match ultimately. And it still leaves the door open for future books and matches for the other unchosen men. I look forward to hopefully getting those books. The narration on this one remained strong. The narrator managed to bring a different energy to this new leading lady, and I very much enjoyed it. NorthernLakeAudioReviewTeam
This is the fourth book in the Omni Towers series. You can read it as a stand alone, but it is so much better having read the previous books so you have all the background story. This story is being told mostly from Ariana's perspective. Kayla is still in the story, but is no longer the main focus. Alex and Ariana have a love story that needs to be told. There is more political intrigue between the Coalition group and the Omni Towers group. New characters are introduced. Jamie builds a great world in which very strong characters and characters with flaws fill the pages. I love the characters. This story is powerful and addictive. I loved it. I would highly recommend the book. In fact, I recommend the whole series. I can't wait to read the next story to see what is going to happen next.
This book is slightly different to the previous ones, in that Kayla takes a bit of a back seat but Alec is still a dominant character. The story focuses on Ariana and her abilities, whilst still carrying the same theme throughout. Everyone, from all spheres, is desperate for resources. Uneasy alliances are formed but trust is a much harder task to achieve. Some will do whatever they can to access these resources. So much intrigue yet again, as it all plays out brilliantly. I enjoyed the way Jamie explores the various characters and how they evolve, how perceptions and emotions are rife the whole way through. Very likable characters, very interesting world, in fact, very interesting everything! I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review
Ari is so innocent and sweet, that does not bode well for her because her father will try to use her as currency. I hate that women are used like that in any time. If you have followed this book series you will have seen mention of Ari and her brother who helped try to train Kayla. Ari is very protected because they are trying to keep her talents secret from everyone. She does blossom and stand up for herself in the end and it all turns out great. I am looking forward to the next book in the series, can’t wait.

Drop of Hope by Jamie A. Waters is another amazing story I have read. This is book number four in this amazing story that I have loved reading. I don't think these stories can get anybetter I will have to wait till the next book to see. I highly recommend this story to everyone who loves reading Sci-Fi stories.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This 4th book of The Omni Towers Series has 21-year-old Ariana hiding her abilities from everyone. She is currently the only empath in existence and her father and brother are very protective of her since all the other empaths had died in their early 20s. This book has action, romance, some steam, and ends in what seems to be a HEA. Highly recommended.
I received an advance review copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Kayla, poor Kayla... she's here, but takes a back seat and gets a much needed rest from all her other adventures. This book centers on Ari, an Empath (with a bonus). She, like Kayla gets in over her head with bonding issues. She has family to help her along the way, but family doesn't always have the best interest where love comes in. The River is still a big mystery. Overall a great read.
Part of the Omni Towers series, but not following Kayla. It's still in order and begins where #3 leaves off, but it's not Kayla and Alec and Carl.
I was a little disappointed. I wanted to keep the flow going with the same points of view, but we get to learn about Ariana and her relationship past with Alec (boooo!!!!!).
Overall a good read, but I was thrown by the change in characters.
**I received an ARC from Book Sirens and am leaving a voluntary review.** I missed out on book 3 and so I was incredibly confused at the beginning of this one. Do not try and read it as a standalone. I do believe that is the reason why I gave it a lower rating as I will be honest, I adore this author. However, I was confused and I missed Kayla from the first three books. I am not quite sure how I feel about Ari. And, since at the end of the last book I read (remember, I skipped one...maybe two) Alec and Kayla were just separated so seeing him going after Ari so hard was a little bizarre.
Ari for me is not a great protagonist. She comes across as weak and wishy washy, especially when you compare her to the colossus that is Kayla. However, the plot is again amazing and you get sucked in and have to finish immediately. So, still a solid 4 stars.
This book, just like the other ones in this series, was a very good read. The plot continues with new characters, new problems, new and unexpected enemies, and quite a few laughs. Lost loves are reunited and saving lives comes at a price, will the help of new allies be enough to save the and restore the world? I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I am really enjoying this series. I really liked the deeper insight into other characters in this book. It's fast and action-packed some nice steam, but the story has me completely hooked. I am really looking forward to continuing this series.
*Updated June, 2024, shortly following the audio version—
🎧 Audio: The narration, performance and all-around sound quality are amazing. Paige manages to make this sound almost like a full-cast performance, all by herself. Absolutely brilliant. 🦩 5 stars.
Also, having already eyeball–read this entire series and knowing the outcome, it still has me on the edge of my seat. Waters is an amazing writer and world-builder. This would make an amazing television series or movies.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This book picks up right where Tremors of the Past ended; though as Book 4 in the series, this one features Ari, primarily, where books 1-3 featured Kayla. So you could come into the series on this book and not be too lost, though personally I enjoyed having the background that was provided in Kayla’s books.
Also: reading this one first would spoil the outcome of Kayla’s love triangle.
We see a lot more of Alec, some of Sergie, Jason, a bit of Devan and some new-to-us (if you’re following the series in order) characters. Some you may love to hate, as I did. Others remain a mystery. Valentina is introduced near the end and she’s a complete bad-$$, leaving me stoked to read her books which are numbers 5 and 6.
Ari is a fun character, well developed and in good continuity with what we’ve seen of her so far. She’s very talented and we’ll learn much from her, as do the other Drac’kin in the series along with us. This book is no less gripping or suspenseful than the first three in the series, with action, romance, drama, mystery and a tiny bit of darkness. I was on the edge of my seat from start to finish and while it didn’t end on a cliffhanger, I absolutely needed to start on the next book as this world is everything.
This is my fourth Jamie Waters book, and my fourth 5-star review for her, but there’s literally nothing to pick on here.
It’s gripping, the manuscript is clean, continuity is excellent and it’s original, something I have trouble finding these days.
