If someone had told Posey Garrett three years ago, she’d be living in the bright, cheerful suburb of Sunview, she’d have laughed in their face. That was before the knock on her door that changed everything. Posey was a cop’s wife, and now, she’s a cop’s widow. Raising two boys and missing the love of her life every day, a relationship isn’t even a fleeting thought. How could it be? Donovan Garrett was her everything. But then another knock happens and Posey’s world is once again rocked. In a whole different way. You never know when love will come knocking.

The Knock by Emme Burton is a Juniper Court Novel. The story is a steamy contemporary romance- with a second chances, older woman/younger man aspect to the story. It is a very quick, fast paced, and easy read that I really enjoyed. Ms. Burton is a new to me author, so I loved exploring her work and getting a feel for her style. The Juniper Court Collection of standalone stories are all set in the same street. We discover all the residents and watch them interact with each other, some who have lived on the street for a long time, while others have just moved in. I love how the authors have collaborated to give these books a real neighbourhood, community feel- it made the series so much more realistic, believable, and enjoyable. There are seven stories from seven fantastic authors. Each book is individual and unique to its author, and even though the books may vary in style, content and storyline, they all have the same inspiration- a person/couple who reside on Juniper Court. In this book we meet Posey Garrett who has had a painful experience that she hasn’t gotten over. A knock on the door changed her life forever, bringing pain and grief with it. But, now another knock is set to change her life again. Bringing with it hope for the future. Mitch is just what she needs, but will she be able to get her head around it all and allow herself to be happy again? The characters are wonderful and their chemistry was sizzling. This is a real tear-jerker of a story- a sweet, romantic, and memorable read. It is definitely one of my favourites from the collection. I am happy to have discovered Ms. Burton, she’s an author whose work I will look forward to reading much more of in the future.
The Knock is a part of The Juniper Court Series and is written by Emme Burton. It is a contemporary romance novel. The story is about a 38 year old woman named Posey Garrett, who is a widow and the mother of two boys, Van, who is 10 years old, and Shane, who is 8 years old. Posey's husband, Donovan Garrett was an undercover police officer in St. Louis, Missouri. On his last day of working undercover, Donovan was driving to the station to change his clothes and debrief after finishing his shift, when his car was forced into a guardrail, causing his car to flip over and go over the guardrail, and it ended up engulfed in flames before anyone could get to him. After Donovan's death, Posey and the boys moved to Sunview and to Juniper Court. It's been three years since Donnie's death, but Posey still feels out of sorts with him gone. She often finds herself thinking of him many times during the day, and still counts the days that he's been gone.
Posey is a graphic designer, and works from home on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Her design space is sacred to her since she can go there and just create. The company that she works for is called Two- Shot, and she is currently working on designing the graphics for a hugely popular rock group called #coolNerd. Posey is so wrapped up in her work that she totally forgets that her son, Van is having his first guitar lesson at 5:00 pm that day. Posey is startled when there is a knock at the door just as she's about to start making dinner. When she answers the door she is met by Van's guitar teacher whose name is Mitch Morgan and he is 25 years old. Mitch asks Posey if Mrs. Garrett can come to the door, and when Posey tells him that she is Mrs. Garrett, he finds it hard to believe because she looks young, especially since she's dressed in a Led Zeppelin T-shirt, cut-off sweat pants, bare feet, and her hair in a messy bun. Mitch tells Posey that she “doesn't look like a mom”, and Posey tells Mitch that she'll “take that as an awkwardly charming left-handed compliment”. Mitch is pleased that she'll take his comment that way, and Posey thinks that he is adorable. She thinks that he is quite good looking, too.
After Van's guitar lesson, Mitch is invited to dinner with Posey and her family. Mitch talks to Posey after dinner, telling her how Van is a great guitar player and that he thinks that Van would benefit from two guitar lessons per week. Posey agrees, and she and Mitch agree that Mitch will give Van lessons on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Several weeks go by and after each lesson it seems that Mitch ends up eating dinner with the Garretts; Van and Shane really like Mitch, and so does their mother. Posey and Mitch are definitely attracted to one another, but they never get a chance to be alone together. One night after dinner is over, Mitch and Posey finally kiss after the boys have gone to bed. Mitch asks Posey out on a date for that upcoming Saturday night. Will love finally be in Posey's life again?
I really enjoyed this book by Emme Burton. She has written some wonderful characters whose backstories are interesting, and the storyline is unique but believable. I definitely recommend this novel if you love a great contemporary romance.
Posey Garret was never supposed to be in the sunny idyllic town of Sunview, but that is exactly where she is. Alone, raising her two boys, Van and Shane, in a town close to her parents for support, and grieving the loss of the love of her life, her husband, Donavan. Just as Donavan was supposed to be finishing the last day of his dangerous job as an undercover detective, when the fateful ‘knock’ came and crashed the hopes and dreams of Posey, and their future together.
“He was never supposed to buy me a house on Juniper Court in the war, idyllic town of Sunview. No, we were supposed to raise our kids and grow old together in St. Louis. Live through each blazing humid summer and frigid ice-storm-ridden winter together.”
“I’d always know the day could come, but on that day, “the knock” on the door took me by surprise.”
Posey’s world is turned upside down when the young and dreamy guitar teacher, Mitch Morgan, that she hired for her son Van shows up at her door… With a knock of course. “This guy is my kid’s guitar teacher? Holy smokes, he’s adorable. I mean, objectively, no one can deny how good-looking this guy is. Tall, short brown hair, scruffy beard and a jawline that could cut glass.”
“I can’t be sure, but that handshake with Mitch seems to have released something. Sensations and emotions that had been locked away for so long I thought they’d died in a tiny prison cell in my heart have been given release papers.”
Their romance is quick to get started and is pretty steamy from the get go. Of course, there are a few hitches in the road for the couple, because real life brings complications, no matter how perfect something may seem from the outside. Will her young lover be the cause of too much distress for her boys? Can Posey manage to overcome ‘the knock’, and the feelings of guilt that accompany her new happiness? Or will this all just become too much, and stop the romance in its tracks before it can even have a fighting chance?
“No, I am not the old Posey. I am a brand-new Posey.”
“I’d knock on your door every night if I didn’t think you’d get sick of me.”
“But you know what? I love it. Mitch’s openness. I love every silly, corny, honest thing Mitch does, because it makes me feel alive again after years of feeling defeated and cynical.”
I absolutely adored reading about Posey. She was the culmination of my journey with the Juniper Court series and I think it could not have turned out better that I managed to read the books in the order that I did, leaving her for last. I absolutely connected with her on multiple levels. Mitch, my holy-hot goodness, was a delight to read. Honestly, he had some of the sweetest one liners that made his character swoon-worthy all on their own but was enhanced by his strong character as well.
“I’m not afraid of you running away baby. I get the feeling you won’t.” - “Breakdown”, Tom Petty.
BONUS! This book has a playlist! And it is a great one at that. Any book that is accompanied by music is a five-star read for me usually. The perfect culmination of the art of words complimenting each other in a beautiful way.
This was a bittersweet novel for me in more ways than one. First of all, it was so amazing, and captured my attention so greatly, that I was forcing myself to read this through a migraine from hades. I just couldn’t not keep reading. It also is the last book in the Juniper Court Series that I had to read, and I must confess, the ending brought me to tears because it was so sweet to finally have the story of Posey and her boys, and also because I was now thoroughly depressed that this is it. You know, that empty feeling you get when you know this is the last of such a good thing, often a sign of something so great. I could read a thousand more books with these neighbors. They have quickly become some of my favorite characters I have ever read, and frankly feel as if I am reading about a cul de sac in a dreamy warm town I want to hop on a plane and visit. I highly encourage you to one click the entire series from these amazing women authors that have come together to create this masterpiece series. If you would like more information on the series you can visit the webpage they have for it at thejunipercourtseries.com.
“There are several things about his series that make it unique. Each book on Juniper Court can stand alone. They don’t have to be read in order. As you read, you’ll see some of those interactions you’ll find in other books, from the other perspective. Enjoy these glimpses behind the doors of the neighbors and then, click on their books to get the full story.”
“From Sweet to Swingers… from LGBT to BDSM… It’s happening behind the doors of – Juniper Court.”
The Knock by Emma Burton is one of seven books in the Juniper Court Series by seven different authors, and each one takes a completely different spin leaving readers only wanting more of this unique series. Following the story of Posey Garret and her two boys, they moved to Juniper Court after her world is shaken to its core when a knock comes declaring the death of the love of her life, her husband, Donovan. Saying that Posey retreated into herself would be an understatement, but she had to keep it together not only for her children but for her parents as well. When they moved to Juniper Court it was to give her children a sense of stability and closeness to her family, but there is something in it for Posey as well. Meeting her son’s guitar teacher, Mitch Morgan, the wind is knocked out her. There is something about Mitch that wakes something up in Posey that she wasn’t sure would ever come alive again. There is just one problem, Mitch is only 25 years old, while Posey is well past that and deep into her 30s. Mitch doesn’t see a problem with this but the age is something that is glaring in Posey’s face. Mitch can’t get Posey off his mind, and the electricity that sparked when he took her hand. Convincing her to give him a chance won’t be easy but he is willing to put in the work especially for a woman like Posey. Their love affair was quick and hot from page one, but life always finds a way to attempt to derail happiness, and Posey’s world is teetering on the edge of something great with Mitch but the thought of hurting her boys is always in the back of her mind. It will take both Posey and Mitch wanting this to work to make the blush of young love turn into something deep and lasting. Getting to read Posey and Mitch’s story was such a privilege, and one that not only made me cry and laugh but I fell in love with them right along with them loving each other. I have read several of Emma Burton’s books in the past, so I was excited to see she was a part of this series, and this book did not disappoint in the least. The beauty of this series is that the books can be read in any order, each one being written by a different author, each giving you a different flavor of love from different perspectives. If you are looking for an incredible series by amazing authors than this is one that you most definitely have to get your hands on!
The Knock : The Juniper Court Series by Emme Burton, this series is amazing it is unique that it is seven stories written by seven authors in one street and each story interlinks with each other which is awesome.
This story follows the life of Posey and the heartache she had when her husband died but a new beginning with Mitchel. Posey loved Donovan but as a police officer his job was always fraught with danger but who would have thought that a freak accident would be the thing that took her husband away.
As the year's has gone on she has learned to live life and survive with bringing up her kids, until one day Mitchel comes to give Van , Posey's eldest son guitar lessons she did not expect the attraction she got when Mitchel entered the house but can she keep her attraction under wraps.
This attraction sends Posey into a whirlwind of change, first her hair and then her attitude on life, until one day Mitchel stays for dinner and it becomes a ritual every Tuesday and Thursday and as the chemistry is ramped up so is Posey. Mitchel is complete smitten with Posey from the first time he sees her, it doesn't matter that she is older than him and just wants to get to know her better.
The story is about love, lost and although you may have had tragedy in your life their is always a silver lining. I love the way Mitchel capture's Posey's heart after such loss and the way Mitchel dotes on the children and her is lovely. I also understand the reluctance to pursue a relationship with Mitchel being younger than her but they way he doesn't care what people think other than her and the kids is lovely to read. I wish these books could have gone on but I have just found out that these characters are also part of a series of books Emme already wrote so I will be downloading those to continue reading about these two great characters.
The Knock: The Juniper Court Series by Emme Burton is part of The Juniper Court series that is is written by seven different authors. This is an awesome series that is centered around Juniper Court and the people who live there. All the characters have a part of each other's lives. This is my first book by this author and I loved it! I couldn't put it down until the end! She pulled me in from the beginning of the book. She took me on an emotional roller coaster ride that I didn't want to stop. Her characters are connectable, lovable and true to life. In this installment of this series, we get to see Posey's story. Three years ago, Posey never expected to become single mom and never seeing her husband again. A knock at the door changed everything for her in one night. Now she finds herself with a new home and trying to survive life. Then one day a knock happens again and her life changes once again. She never expects what will happen to her next. Will she finally be able to let the past go and learn to live again? I loved the characters! Posey is a strong, independent woman who has endured quite a bit. I felt compassion for her and then I found myself pulling for her. Sometimes, life brings unexpected gifts into our lives as Posey will find out. I loved the secondary characters in this story also. They are supportive and loving. This is a short story that was fast paced and I found myself to the end of the story before I realized it. I highly suggest this book. Find out what Posey's story is and how she came to be on Juniper Court!
BOOK REVIEW: The Knock (The Juniper Court Series) AUTHOR: Emme Burton FIVE STARS The Knock is one of seven books from seven different authors. This series can be read in any order and each book can be read as a stand alone. The whole thought process behind this series is to give readers a chance to read a series that is made up of all different tropes of writing and each of these stories will bring you more in touch with ALL the characters in the neighborhood. I am in love with all of the families. This book, The Knock, is a tear-jerker of a romance. A forbidden romance as the female main character, Posey, is in her late 30's and the male main character, Mitch, is only 25 (26 in a few weeks), and he is Posey's sons guitar instructor and a substitute teacher for her kids' schools. The age difference is very noticable to her but to him, not so much. The chemistry between the two of them is instant and off the charts. Posey has her own past that holds her back, can she open her heart and let Mitch in or will the "knock" scare her away. Heartfelt and so deep. This is a quick read as are all of the Juniper Court series books. Each one deals with a different family and how they find and strengthen the love they have for each other. I highly recommend this series and have found that most of them are on Kindle Unlimited and I am grateful for that subscription right now. The only downside I have found to this series is that it isn't long enough. I desperately want more. Kelli Harper
The Knock by Emma Burton is part of the Juniper Court series. Again this is another great addition to the series. Each book in this series is strong on its own but even better as part of the whole it is part of. This is the first book I have read by this particular author but she is going straight onto my TBR list. Posey Garrett had everything she could possible want in life. A great home, a great husband, two beautiful children. She couldn’t want for anymore. And then, one day, with a single knock on the door, her entire life was turned upside down. Suddenly left to raise her boys on her own she finds herself living in the suburbs, somewhere she never imagined she would be. Her whole focus is looking after her children and trying to pick up the pieces of their lives. Love if the last thing she is looking for and the last thing she wants. But with a second knock Posey finds her life turned upside down yet again. I absolutely loved this book. I found it highly emotional and really sucked me into the story. The characters were extremely well written. It was easy to connect with them and I really felt like you were made to experience the same emotions as Posey. The book as a whole fitted really well with the rest of the series but this book has to be my favourite so far. A very good book.
The Knock by Emme Burton is part of the Juniper Court series of books. This series contains seven books written by seven different authors about the residents of Juniper Court. The Juniper Court series has a bit of everything: BDSM, swinging, gay romance etc. Posey Garrett has lived in Juniper Court for 3 years following the tragic death of her police officer husband Donovan. She lives with her 2 adorable sons, 10 year old Donovan jr who is known as Van and 8 year old Shane. Posey had not even looked at another man since the death of Donovan, much less be attracted to one. Enter Mitch who has been hired as a guitar coach for Van. Mitch is much younger than Posey but the instant attraction between them cannot be denied. Can Posey and Mitch put aside the age difference and give into the attraction that they have for one another, especially when others refer to Posey as a cougar? This is a beautifully written love story with characters that you can’t help but love and be drawn into their story and pray that they get their happily ever after. The Knock was the last of the Juniper Court series that I read and I can happily say that I kept the best for last. As much as I enjoyed the BDSM, swinging etc from the other books, I loved that this was such a simple story of two people falling in love. Oh and yeah…the sex was hot!
The Knock: The Juniper Court Series by Emme Burton 5 Out of 5 stars
I loved reading The Knock, The Jupiter Court Series by Emme Burton. This is my first book by this author and I loved it! I couldn't put it down until the end! She pulled me in from the beginning of the book. This is another fabulous and exciting emotional, loveable, and sexy book. I was really excited to read this book/series. The characters are well written, and the story line is amazing. Ms. Burton writing style is easy flowing and engaging. This is Posey’s story: Three years ago, Posey never expected to become single mom to her two boys and never seeing her husband again. A knock at the door changed everything for her in one night. Now she finds herself with a new home and trying to survive life without her husband. Three years later a knock happens again and her life changes once again. I felt compassion for her and then I found myself pulling for her. Sometimes, life brings unexpected gifts into our lives as Posey will find out. I highly recommend this story/series… By Tracy
The Knock by Emme Burton is an instalment in the Juniper Court Series, a series of seven stories written by seven talented writers! I have not read anything else by Emme Burton but since finishing the Knock, she is definitely on my list of authors to keep in mind when looking for a next book to read! The Knock is the story of Posey, a widowed mother of two young boys and Mitch, a young musician and her sons’ guitar teacher and a substitute teacher at their school. The writer has given us a beautiful story of second love and how life can change with just one knock on your door … She has given us a forbidden romance (or at least some of us might think so) as there is quite an age difference and it is Posey who is much older than Mitch … We have this beautiful story that takes us on a rollercoaster ride and gives us hope that there is someone there for each of us even in times when it seems that all is lost … There are so many great secondary characters in this story as well so at no point you feel that the story slows… why should it as all the characters are so easy relatable and you cannot wait to keep reading to find out how the journey ends! Pick up a copy and I promise you that once you have read the Knock, you will want to read also the other stories of Juniper Court!

Emme Burton brings us another love story on Juniper Court. Another character to fall in love with. Another house we want to live in. I think The Knock is the shortest of all the Juniper Court stories but it isn’t holding anything back. This is a sad but sweet story. I liked the ending of this story, no unanswered questions.
Posey is our main character wondering how she got to where she is in life. How did things turn out this way? A simple knock on the door changes her life not once but twice. Mitch is a man who belongs to one of those knocks. But little does he know how his knock is going to be life changing.
I really enjoyed reading Posey’s story. Emme Burton can write a realistic, endearing story, with characters you want to get to know better. Characters you want you be friends with. This story does not have to be read last, in fact it doesn’t mention very many of the other Juniper Court families much at all, with the exception of Valley. But really you don’t have to read Valley’s story to understand or enjoy Posey’s story.
Juniper Court series is a special series in which each book is written about a new character by a new author. You will not go wrong one clicking The Knock.
I have enjoyed most of the Juniper Court Series. I loved the concept from the start and like all neighborhoods you aren’t going to love everyone, but you try to find something you like about each household. However...I instantly fell in love with this book. I knew from the start that this was going to be an emotional read that would stay with me (and make me late for work, because I couldn’t put the book down)!
“Grief reminds me of a crazy, sad amusement park ride. You never know when a turn or spin will come that makes you sick to your stomach and wrenches tears from your eyes. Oh, and there’s no way to get off the ride.”
This book is relatable in so many ways to so many I believe. Worrying about the way others view you, your kids, personal self criticizing, starting over, guilt, judgement, feeling worthy of another chance and taking the leap while fearful if it doesn’t work out you have to repeat the pain of loss.
“Breathe out and I promise I’ll always be here to breathe you in.”
This book is an emotional packed, sweet, heartfelt read that will have you cheering for second chances.
The Knock: The Juniper Court Series by Emme Burton
5 Stars
This was such an awesome addition to the Juniper Court Series and also my first read by this author. The only thing I wish is that it was longer because I enjoyed it that much.
Posey’s life was all planned out for her, great husband, great marriage with 2 great kids and a bright future, until the day she got the knock on her door and everything changed just that quick. She went from being a cops wife to a cop's widow in the blink of an eye. If it wasn't for her kids she would spend every minute living in the memories of her husband. Then one day another knock comes that sparks something in Posey she never expected. Is it possible for Posey to get a second chance at love, or will her fear of what others think be her downfall?
I love this series, and I've mentioned in other reviews that my favorite part is getting to read books from new authors. I can't wait for more from Juniper Court and I also can't wait to check out what else this author has available.
Holy wow! The Knock, Book 6 in the fantastic Juniper Court series gave me ALL the feels! Emme Burton knows how to hit a home run! As with all of the books in this series, I was excited to get a more in-depth look at Posey’s life, and her story was incredible! Posey, a widowed mother to two young boys, Van and Shane, is a beautiful main character! Trying to move forward through her grief and be the best mom she can, meets Mitch, aspiring musician and guitar teacher to her son, Van. The chemistry between Posey and Mitch is nothing short of amazing! Sparks were flying in this sweet second-chance story! Unsure of finding love again, dealing with guilt of moving on, and feeling as if she may be betraying her husband, Posey decides to take a chance. Mitch is understanding, compassionate and not afraid to make his feelings known. I read this book in one sitting, and loved every minute of it. I laughed and cried, and even got chills! Posey is a survivor... full of courage, and life! This book is another must-read in my opinion!
I give 5 stars to The Knock ( The Juniper Court Series) written by Emme Burton
It's was a utterly brilliant, I absolutely love the idea the main author had to incorporate different authors to assist with each book its brings different styles and depths to each book, can not wait to continue to read this series.
This is a brilliantly explained story of rebuilding your life when fate takes a soul crushing turn in the future you had planned.
Posey Garrett never for a moment thought this last night she'd be alone waiting for her husband to finally return from his undercover operation for the last time, instead she'd get the one knock she'd never forget.
Now trying to move on for the sake of her kids she moves closer to family in to the suburbs that is Juniper Court. Posey has fallen in to a steady routine with everything in her life until she hires a music teacher Mitch to help Van continue to play like his dad showed him.
As sparks fly and emotions take over Posey and Mitch become close, will this be the next step for Posey?
The Knock: The Juniper Court Series By Emme Burton 5 stars
This book was just amazing! From the very first page I was completely hooked and it wasn’t long before I shed a few tears! This is the first book that I have read by this author and it will in no way be the last! I have loved all of the stories in this fantastic series so far but I have to admit The Knock may just be my favourite. The emotion that the author poured into this short story was just fantastic. Again I loved that the characters from other books pop up in this way to and that enables a good continuation and connection for the series. The Knock was truly a beautiful and romantic story which on more than one occasion broke my heart and mended it again. I loved Posey, she was such a lovely character and I felt for her so much. The love that she shared with Donovan was so special. The author really has written a beautiful story that I highly recommend!
The Knock by Emme Burton is one of the books written for the Juniper Court Series.
This is a series of books written about a few houses in a cul-de-sac on Juniper Court. Each book is written by different authors.
This book tells us how Posey Spence met Donovan Garrett. She later married him and had a few kids. Here she is many years later, she cries a lot, kind of let herself go and doesn't think she will ever find herself in another relationship again.
When Posey meets Mitch, they are attracted to eachother right away but, he is her sons guitar teacher. Mitch is much younger then Posey and she thinks he's to young for her but, can she continue to fight the attraction they have to each other? When their relationship causes some friction for one of her sons will she call it quits or will her dream she has one night of Donovan seal the deal.
I thought this was a great book and an awesome addition to the series!!!
The Knock The Juniper Court Series By Emme Burton ☆☆☆☆☆ This is a romance story. Short but complete. Great story!
Posey Garrett lost her husband three years ago. Being a cop's widow was something she never imagined. She has 2 well behaved boys, that remind her daily of their father. Who she misses every single day of the last 3 years. She works full time, some days at the office some days at home. Who would have thought a knock at the door could change her life so quickly? In walks the music tutor for Van. He is much younger then her. The words cougar and cradle robber are thrown in, and the life of Posey is rejuvenated. The knock!
Emme Burton story was fun to read. She brings out the music side of this romance story. Which I loved. Her characters are such loving people, and her children are the best. So much in such a short story, Emme gets to the point and brings the HEA to the end. Well done!
This is one of my favorite book series this year! It's so different because it takes place in a neighborhood written by different authors but all the characters play a role in each book. All these different authors seamlessly write this series of AMAZING stories. This whole series is a MUST READ!
Posey moves to Juniper court with her kids after receiving the devastating blow of losing her husband. Donavan was the love of her life so losing him was losing everything to her. She moved to give her kids stability but it completely knocked her on her butt when she met here son's guitar teacher. She never expected to feel all those emotions again especially for Mitch. Life always has a way of putting you in your place and sending you challenges you never expected. Can Posey and Mitch overcome the obstacles that come their way?
Like I said, I love this series. It's different and each author writes seamlessly. Every book is a must one-click!
The Knock by Emme Burton is a must-read romance! It's a story about finding yourself and embracing who you are. The Knock is a part of The Juniper Court series, a series of seven books written by seven authors about characters living on the same street. Each book in the series can be read as a standalone.
I was immediately swept into this story from the beginning. Posey was such an easy character to connect with. She was such a sweet and caring mom with a successful career and an incredibly funny internal dialogue. I was able to read this book in one sitting as it was able to hold my attention the whole way through. I would love to read more about Posey and Mitch in the future!
I would absolutely recommend this book and series to others! I can't wait to read more of Emme's work!!
I think The Knock by Emme Burton is probably one of my favorites of the Juniper Court Series. This story is about love, loss and second chances. Posey is great and you can relate to her character and her feelings. After her husband’s death she’s just kind of there. Not really doing much just existing. Until Mitch strolls into her life and makes her start feeling things again. I cried a little during this story because the description of everything and behavior is so lifelike. From the guilt and defensiveness to the forgiveness and real life. Posey has been through a lot and she deserves happiness. She is mentioned a few times along with Mitch in a couple of the previous stories and they hint at the story but it leaves you guessing. The Knock was just nice, the story keeps you enthralled, the characters are great and the ending is one I could live with.
The Knock: The Juniper Court Series by Emma Burton. I have read every book in this amazing series. What I love most about this series is that you read a little bit about each character and then they get their own story. Posey’s life is turned upside down by a knock at the door. She soon finds herself grieving for the loss of the love of her life and a single mom to boot. She moves to Juniper Court. She hires Mitch to teach guitar and she gets a lot more than she bargained for. Posey is by far my favorite character. I too am being a single mom of two boys and the things you survive is commendable. This book gave me all the emotions. Can Mitch heal Posey’s broken heart and help her love again? Read to find out and go back and read all the books in this series. You won’t be disappointed.
The Knock: The Juniper Court Series by Emme Burton is part of a series that each book is written by seven different authors we we meet the neighbours and families whose lives are lived in Juniper Court. Emme’s characters are lovable and connectable and true to life. Even though this is a short story I found myself so engrossed in it I was at the end before I even knew it. One knock and her life is changed forever. Posey lost the love of her life and became a single mum who is still struggling with that loss. Now years later she hears another knock at the door and little did she know that her life was about to be changed again forever. Grab a copy you won’t be disappointed, you will love it.
The Knock is a part of the Juniper Court Series. I love all of the books in this series. Juniper Court is seven stories written by seven different authors about seven different families that live on Juniper Court. The stories bring the same resident into each of the books. This book is written by Emme Burton and this is the first book I have read by her. This is the sixth book I have read in the series and so far all of them have been five Stars. This one was so full of feels! This fast paced read was very emotional and sweet. Posey is a strong woman, who has had great Love and heartbreak. This be my favorite story of the series so far. I highly recommend this book and series.
The Knock: The Juniper Court Series by Emma Burton. I have read every book in this series and have loved them all equally. We have read about Posey in other books but now we will finally get her entire story. Posey believes that a knock on the door is a bad thing. That is exactly what happened to her. That knock that she got, changed her and her sons entire life. All she wants to donis focus on her work and her boys. That is until she gets another knock on her door but this time for an entirely different reason. Can she open her heart and her life to love again???? I can not say enough good things about this book as well as the entire series. I hope you love this book as much as I have!!!
I loved this book! With equal parts of sorrow and happiness, I found myself wrapped up in it from beginning to end! There were very few errors in spelling, grammar, and punctuation. It had a perfect flow. The writing was so spot on that at more than one point, I found myself with tears, and other times I was laughing. I felt pride in what Posey accomplished for herself and her children after her life changed in a devastating way. I felt connected with Posey immediately, and might be a little in love with Mitch. I would love to see them in more stories! I'm aware this book is a part of a series, but it read perfect as a standalone! 5 stars from me and I'm also looking forward to reading the rest of this series!
I devoured this book in a single sitting, and thoroughly enjoyed it. I giggled, and even shed a couple of tears. Characters were definitely relatable and the story was really good. This is part of the Jupiter Court series, with each part written by a different author. I’ve read 2 others in the series and loved how Valley from Project Paradise was in this book as a minor character. To me, that makes a series a lot more enjoyable, when I can “catch up” to past protagonists. The Knock was my first read by Emme Burton but I will definitely pick up further books by this author as a result of this one. Highly recommend!
