Had the pleasure of listening to John Foley speak at a company meeting. His speech was incredibly inspirational and engaging. The book is a longer version of his speech.
Fantastic read, written in a unique and engaging style that is a refreshing departure from most of this genre. John Foley utilizes a coaches approach, along with vivid examples and highly effective imagery that reinforce the distinctly different messages delivered throughout each chapter. As you progress through the book, these messages build upon each other in a cohesive manner, culminating in a complete strategy that can be adapted to any setting. Highly recommended if you are seeking a fresh perspective in becoming the best leader, team member, and person you can be!
John Foley has a success story that's not so far up in the clouds that the rest of us can even imagine living a similar life. Yeah, he was a pilot with the Blue Angels, and that's not something many accomplish. But the lessons he teaches about what it takes to operate at the highest levels of excellence are all transferable. Best of all, he has an amazing perspective about gratitude that keeps achievement in the proper perspective. I'd recommend this book to anyone who is pursuing a well-lived life.
Decent read. Lots of the ideas are already what I try to practice in my own life (gratitude, glad to be here attitude) but still a good refresher and perspective to read about. Would recommend.
