When Allie’s well-planned, heard-earned law career comes crashing down around her, she’s left with nowhere to go but back home to Cedar Rapids. Temporarily. Just until she can regroup and get back on her feet.
She’ll try her best to avoid Mark, her once best friend who cruelly shattered her heart in high school by dumping her with no explanation.
Allie is soon to learn that Cedar Rapids holds strange secrets. Something’s going on and three guesses who’s right in the thick of things. Mark. This time, they’re calling him a cold-blooded killer.
She shouldn’t care. She should mind her own business. If only her heart would let her. Falling in love with Mark again would be disastrous, but Allie wonders if she’s ever fallen out of love with him.
A paranormal werebear bear shifter romance intended for adult readers.
The book was rather short and fast-paced. It could have used more character development and detail, which would probably make it more solid. There were many aspects that could have been further explored. Much is left to the imagination.
Nevertheless, the writing flows and it’s an enjoyable read.
Book was well-written, and enjoyable. The writing flowed, even though some of it was a bit predictable, it did have a surprising moment. The writer left some things to your imagination, and didn’t explicitly describe each scene.
I hated this so much. The male lead was emotionally all over the map. It reminded me so much of Christian Grey (50 Shades of Grey) with how his mood would flux rapidly and annoyingly.
