A powerful love unleashes a devastating storm. Thera craved normalcy... a chance to live a life filled with generosity, peace, and love. Greed, and the need for power, consumed the people closest to her, the ones who were supposed to protect her.
Presented with the choice to show kindness and strength, to usher in an era of reconciliation and prosperity, the leader of the Roma, Thera's father, choose a selfish, immoral path... one that would plague his people for thousands of years. Elysia's being hunted. Her gift is the key to breaking the Roaming Curse, but others are bound to protect it at all costs. Confused and scared, she'll have to learn from the history of her people in order to save them from annihilation.
Loyalties are tested, and she's unsure they are worthy of saving. Her time is running out. The past and present collide, threatening a destruction of catastrophic proportions, not only for the Roma, but also for their Hunters.
Miranda Hardy writes literature to keep the voices in her head appeased. When she's not in her fantasy world, she's canoeing in alligator infested waters or rescuing homeless animals. She resides in south Florida with her two wonderful children, and too many animals to mention.
I received a copy of this book for free from the author as an ARC and have voluntarily chosen to review it. Oh my. This book was good. It was even better than the first. The action follows at a quick pace, but slows long enough for you to watch the characters learn about family, love, and loss. As the story progresses, they learn about forgiving their family and loved ones. Even the ending was so very well done. I do not think it could have truly had a better, or more believable ending. The only thing keeping me from giving this a 5 was a few misused words such as sequence instead of sequins. Aside from that, it was a very enjoyable story!
I really enjoyed this surprising, thrilling conclusion to the Roaming Curse series. This story is full of exciting adventure, suspense, heartbreak, love and forgiveness. Your heat breaks for both the hunted and the hunter and you can not help but be invested in these characters lives as they battle to survive. The relationships, twists, emotion and losses in this story will keep you captivated and you won't be able to stop reading till it's done.
After being in hiding for 6 months it was only a matter of time before the other hunters were going to catch up to them. It's the werewolves curse to find them as much as it is the Romas one to roam. Once there their group is shattered with their werewolf friends having no control over their actions when the alpha is close commanding them to attack.
On the run to figure out the past to save the present is the plan of action. Though seems to be this time around the people Elysia wasn't as close to or hung around with much are who the adventure revolves. Meeting new people can also give clues to what needs to be done and where to really look for answers.
To break a curse you must understand why it was cast in the first place. It's time to look to a past life to see how things came to be to help the present chaos they find themselves in. But do past lives fates hold true to present ones? Do you live to repeat them or can you change something to restore the present? Elysia is soon to find out.
Had hoped that vampires were going to have a bigger part but felt they were a bit irrelevant when they show up. There to show strength and power but not used. Also a certain characters fate linked to them seemed off considering how everything ends up playing out.
Interesting link up with past and present lives with how things came about and how Elysia was going to try to break the curse for everyone. Creative world in the present but I also liked that we got to see quite a bit about the past life too. Forever entwined with past loves finding their way back to each other more than once. Should give some hope that they might find each other in the next one and that time around with no curse or gifts causing them trouble.
3.5 out of 5 stars I received a copy of this book from the author for my honest review.
I really enjoyed book two of the Roaming Curse series. I loved how the author went back into Elysia’s previous lives and told the story of her and her lover. It was a big shocker to me when I found out who her soulmate was, I loved that twist in the story. I would have loved to read more of the stories of her past lives but I understand than the book would have been really long and the story would have been going in a bunch of different directions. I really would love to hear how the rest of the story goes, what happened after the nine months. I don’t want to give anything away and spoil the book for anyone so I won’t say what happened but it would be interesting to read a third story to find out what happened to her. This book series really had me sucked in the entire time. I look forward to reading more books by Miranda.
I received a copy of this book for free from the author as an ARC and have voluntarily chosen to review it. Elysia handled her problems. Allowing others to assist where needed but not leaning on them. The people in this book will keep you turning page after page to find out what happens to them until you are reading way in to the night. You can not put it down. It was a great book to form the first page to the last page. Thank you for writing these books for us to read. Can't want until others comes out from this author.
Miranda Hardy's "Lightning Lost" (formerly called "The Hunters' Fate") is the second tale in The Roaming Curse series. This is the conclusion of Elysia's story and a clean PNR/drama. Great writing, I couldn't put it down. Such a neat turn of events. I don't want to give away any spoilers. The historical flashbacks are amazing! I always love Miranda Hardy! This series would make a great movie.
Great character and scene development. I think book 1 was more exciting whereas this was more sedate but no less enjoyable.
Elysia comes into her own by fully connecting with and to her power, she learns she is in control of them. Kyle is there for her when she needs him. I like Luca and his grandmother, she is a character.
As part of the advance reader crew I was gifted a copy of the book. I choose to leave this review

Powerful, beautiful, intriguing.....just some of the words to describe this incredible and amazing story! In this shocking conclusion, we learn a lot more about the curse, the part Elysia plays in this magical world and more importantly how it all goes down! Simply Beautiful!!!!
I don't think I have ever read a prologue before that had made me want to read the whole book in one sitting. Guess it was a mistake that I read it before work. I loved Lightning Lost even more than the first book. It was so action packed and didn't slow down a beat. I loved the twists it took to keep you guessing. I'm sad there are only the two books in the series.
This is the second book of The Roaming Curse. The characters are unforgettable and I hated to see the end come. I would love to read more about them and their special magical abilities. I hope Miranda Hardy would find it in her heart to continue this tale. I highly recommend both of the books.
This is the second and guess last book in this series and so glad I was able to find it on the KU and read it. If you have not read the first book I suggest that you read it first so you know how everything started and who is who and why...
I enjoyed reading this book. It tells more about the Roma people and the mysterious roaming curse they've all been born into, and we learn about Elysia's past lifetime. I'd recommend this book to readers looking for books about gifted humans, and werewolves.
I really enjoyed how this story unraveled and developed. This was a good follow up book, and I liked the ending (it was satisfying and “neat”) Good characters, and an interesting concept for a series!
This story continues to build until it reached the crescendo. Whew! It was a little exhausting. This will book encompassed many twist and turns with unexpected moments. It draws you in with great writing that it becomes hard to put down (and sleep). Enjoy!
Thera just wants to live a normal life, alas that doesn’t seem to be her lot in life. Unbelievable how I just got lost in the story. Ready for the next.
