What a wild and crazy neighborhood Sherwood Forest is. The name of the place is a treat right from the beginning.

The newest neighbors Gretchen and Jarrod were bombarded the instant they arrived. Gretchen had a neighbor stop by and tell her where to put her dishes in the cupboards, and Jarrod had a neighbor tell him how to organize his garage tools.

Living in Sherwood Forest is a gossip fest, but such fun. There is NEVER a dull moment.

We meet all the neighbors, hear their stories, and find out each one has a better story and is more nosy than the next one. They have some kind of communication network that is faster than the Internet for getting the news out.

Ms. Ring's descriptions of the characters and the situations had me laughing out loud.

I don't know if I actually know what's going on in my neighborhood, but if the neighbors were like this, I would be moving.

If you need a delightful, entertaining, well-written, hilarious book, THE NEIGHBORHOOD will be a terrific addition to your reading stack.

Do not missing reading THE NEIGHBORHOOD. 5/5

This book was given to me by the author in exchange for an honest review.

What is a neighborhood? It's "often a social community with considerable face-to-face interaction among members". OH, does this book take that definition to a new level! The neighborhood in this book, Sherwood Forest, has more than it's share of endless interactions and not so fairy tale events.
Life is about to become one hot mess when Gretchen and Jarrod O'Malley move into their new home on Sir Richard Road. With the neighborhood called Sherwood Forest, they thought they were moving into the fairy tale neighborhood....but it is not anything like they expected. This is where the craziness of this story begins....and what a crazy tale that is told!
This story had my mind spinning at what these neighbors to Gretchen and Jarrod were capable of! Each one had their weirdnesses and quirks that were out of this world! From the very first neighbor to introduce herself, Maggie, who was a busybody and "town crier", to the new neighbors who move in and are so unsuspecting of what's about to overtake their lives, this book was a tale of unbelievable events! This story had so much of Ms. Ring's humor that made me laugh, but also there is a tragedy that made my heart hurt and so very sad. The characters are unique but also ones that could be in any neighborhood there is. This neighborhood is not normal by any means with its share of busybodies, spies, nuisances, gossips, and the "ones to avoid". Is there anything this neighborhood doesn't have?
Do I know my neighbors? Not like this, I don't! This story was one that I turned the pages and was surprised at what was coming next. I really enjoyed Gladys and her clipboard and binoculars dropped like breadcrumbs through the book. What was she writing down all the time?
Would I want to live in a neighborhood like this? Most definitely NO! BUT I sure did enjoy spending some time visiting it! It was an outrageous, very original and fun read.
Thank you, Ms. Ring for sharing your imagination and also the challenge of knowing who our neighbors really are. In the end, tho, "Home is Where We Are"....no matter what the neighborhood is like.

This was a fun read with unbelievable situations and outrageous neighbors! Thank you, Erina, for this comp copy. I’m still laughing!

Oh my, if you need a good laugh and who doesn't right now this book is the perfect medicine. A hilarious tale of what seems to be a normally quiet neighborhood in the suburbs. And that's s what the O'Malley's thought when they moved in their new home. They couldn't have been more wrong. This neighborhood had it all from the nosey neighbors, the annoying one, the loud obnoxious and the mysterious and let's not forget the chickens that suddenly appeared overnight. The author did a great job of spinning the normal and writing such an entertaining story that I can guarantee will make you laugh out loud and wonder about the people in your neighborhood.

A romp through Sherwood Forest. Are we talking Robin Hood here? No. Just a crazy, mixed up, extremely nosy and annoying neighbors in this neighborhood! Everyone has an agenda and not afraid to do anything to get what they want. Not everybody is who they appear to be. But they all agree they need to stick together (for the most part). That is until things get even more bizarre. I know I wouldn’t be able to live peacefully in this place! Hang on for this short ride (read)! 3 stars

What a great book. I read it in one day which I can't remember doing so in a long time.

A crazy neighborhood Jarrod & Gretchen moved into with all kinds of people inhabiting it and the goings on. A lot of people to keep track of but I had no problems. I think the only normal people were Jarrod and Gretchen and the new neighbors Eli & Lisa who moved in later on in the book.

My neighborhood is not this crazy that's for sure.

Gretchen and Jarrod O’Malley have just moved into their new home in what seems to be the quiet, peaceful suburban neighborhood of Sherwood Forest. But they quickly find that it is anything but.

Ms. Ring has written a wonderfully hilarious story of a neighborhood that I doubt any sane person would want to reside in. The neighbors are downright batty. A burly man in a black motorcycle jacket walking five chickens on leashes. Then there is Gladys – with her binoculars and clipboard – always popping up. (Reminded me of Gladys Kravitz from the TV show “Bewitched”.) What was she always writing on that clipboard? And there’s the busybody who shows up at all hours of the day or night, immaculately dressed. Does she ever sleep? Pushy, intrusive… a real can of mixed nuts. Almost creepy.

It is fast-paced, never a moment of dullness. The fastest ever grapevine of gossip. But there are also the occasional moments when you get a glimpse of the all-too-real frailties that lie behind their outrageous behavior.

Fun to visit…but I would not want to live there. This story made me appreciate my quiet, non-quirky neighborhood so much more. If you need a laugh (and don’t we all), be sure to read this book. I doubt you will soon forget this delightful story.

I received this book from the author with no expectation of a positive review.

BOOK REVIEW:

The Neighborhood by Author, Erina Bridget Ring

Let me begin by saying, this author has written such a book that not only will you be glued to its pages from the start, it will have you laughing right out loud with its humorous spin, as its delightfully funny.

A story of the crazy, the nosey, quirky and downright whacky neighbors that we all may have just outside our own front doors. These characters, so true-to-life, who reside in the Sherwood Forest Neighborhood, will take you on a journey of the good, the bad, and the ugly of it all- It's full of secrets, mystery and one particular busy-body unlike any other, and let me tell you she's a real gem!

Author, Erina Bridget Ring weaves a tale not only of the nutty and outrageous, but also the human side- the side of understanding, respect and support of one another.

Masterfully written and so enjoyable, you'll want more...
It's engaging, fast-paced, playful, complex and imaginative. A story you will want to read again and again and one I highly recommend.

I would like to thank Author, Erina Bridget Ring for my personal, signed copy of this story, one I not only enjoyed reading and reviewing, but one I won't soon forget.

We meet Gretchen & Jarrod who’ve just moved into a new house and new neighborhood. Their new neighbors, Chet and Maggie come into their home and help them unpack and put away their stuff due to the couple’s dismay. After a long day, Gretchen and Jarrod head out to dinner where they meet Chet and Marie as they are heading out. They meet the owner of Maria’s restaurant , Maria where she tries to found out a lot about Gretchen and Jarrod.

Gretchen and Jarrod are getting ready to have their first Thanksgiving in their home when unexpectedly,Gretchen’s dad is rushed to the hospital where he’s ok but dehydrated. Maggie, Chet and the whole neighborhood then proceed to throw Thanksgiving for Jarrod and Gretchen and in the process where Maggie almost burns down Gretchen’s house.

I’ve never laughed or cried so much while reading a book. I don’t know what couple I love more but Gretchen & Jarrod are my favorites. I need a sequel please

Gretchen and Jarrod O'Malley have just moved to a new neighborhood and it seems like such a nice place! I mean the nice lady that lives next door, Maggie, shows up to help Gretchen arrange her kitchen and unpack her boxes. Isn't that so friendly? Gretchen is introduced to more neighbors and all the neighborhood drama that is included. There are funny moments, infuriating moments, and even shocking moments as the O'Malley's get used to their new neighborhood and all the people that live there. A fast and entertaining read that will have you racing through the pages and wanting to close your curtains at your home! Enjoy!

I think Mr.Roger's would be appalled by the neighborhood that Erina Bridget King has created in this book. A lovely, fast reading book which will make you thank your lucky stars for your current neighbors, whether or not you are on the best of terms. An entertaining novel with more mixed nuts than the ten pound can you can purchase at the bulk stores! Thanks, Bridget, for a perfect book to read during these extremely disturbing times. A terrific combination of characters that made me happy not to be a part of your childhood. In comparison, it made my formative years appear to be very normal indeed, even if they weren't!

This is the first book by Erina Bridget Ring that I have read and totally enjoyed the book! Have you ever moved into a neighborhood and thought how nice and quiet and normal it looked?
Gretchen and Jarrod are not expecting the neighborhood they move into.
Nosy, pushy, kooky, quirky characters that had me laughing out loud. A total fun and entertaining read. I see similarities in my own neighborhood.
Opinions are my own.
Thank you Erina Bridget Ring for my signed copy.

Well what can I say truly a wonderful story. The people in the neighborhood by Aaron Bridget Ring.....

I have never read a book by this author before.. This was a wonderful story the cover of the book truly gives insight into this book perfect cover for the story..

For Gretchen and Jared....
Moving to their new neighborhood. Sherwood forest.
Located in the small town of Shellville .
Wonderful streets with names like Robin hood boulevard, Little John way, And maid Marion street. And my favorite sir Richard rode.

Well streets are just a name..
But your neighbors now that's a different story.. Always thinking you're going to get the neighbors that are the perfect neighbors in your neighborhood..

Not always what we expect.

Maggie is well,a Hands on kinda Neighbor... She's always more than willing to help you unpack your things and locate them well where she believes they go..
And then of course there's her husband he'll put your things in the correct spot in your garage..
Not sure these are the neighbors that you really want.. But neighbors are neighbors right.. Can't get much worse...

And then there's Gladys, She's the lady with the binoculars, And the clipboard you never never know what she's doing where she's going to end up or what she's writing.

And then there's the stanleys home right across the street..
And oh boy the color of their house a Bright green... Well they repaint it. well none of the neighbors like it.. But not To a new color they will appreciate.. In comes the farm animals that no one loves and that's a hoot that part of the story. but I just loved it. got to be fun the bikers the chickens potbelly pigs walking those chickens what a funny story this is a really good book I loved it I loved it so many good things go on in this neighborhood.

I have so much fun reading of this book .

When I picked up The Neighborhood by , I instantly read about neighbors I had known in the two homes I’ve lived in so far during my married life. A few of the people reminded me of apartment neighbors or folks I knew growing up. You have the busybody, the standard setter that demands control of the neighborhood and feels compelled to instruct all new folks in how one must live in the neighborhood. You have the spies and the gossips, and in a small town that extends beyond your cul-de-sac and quickly goes all over town so your local storekeepers know more about you than you know about yourself. You know who’s getting a divorce, having an affair, going broke. You also have the black sheep of the neighborhood – the one homeful of citizens who are believed to be a bad element. They just don’t fit in and are always a source of drama.
What I really liked best is the idea that when you move into a neighborhood you expect everything will be perfect – your best dream and yet the longer you stay you realize every single neighbor has a quirk and that no one or place is ever perfect or as it seems.

There’s really a laugh and a heartwarming scene on every page. Sometimes I commented that I would never let a Maggie into my house to survey or help without knowing her well, (In fact it would peg my paranoia meter into the red) but Gretchen, a friendly soul did – and perhaps paid the price.

Gretchen and Jarrod move into a supposedly quiet neighborhood, only to find the nosiest neighbors a person could possibly endure. We have all had a neighbor or two that got on our nerves - but this couple had to put up with annoying neighbors all around. There are mysteries to be solved and patience to be had. I about lost my patience with Gladys, with her binoculars around her neck and clipboard in hand - noting all the crazy goings on. And Maggie, trying to take control. I thought Gretchen did a good job of shooing them away. But the trouble was, they always came back! I enjoyed the double-spaced, easy to read print in the book. I also enjoyed wondering what was going to happen next - and what would I do in those situations. Erina Bridget Ring was very descriptive of each character; and I could visualize them in my mind. Warning!! You may have to drink more, while your reading this book! LOL!!

Craziest neighborhood ever!
Gretchen and Jarrod move into an upscale quaint neighborhood named Sherwood Forest. But from the moment the boxes are moved into their dream home, a parade of crazies descends upon them, turning their quiet lives into chaos. Worst of all, these people are their new neighbors: they take “nosy” to a new level, gossip is the favorite pastime and nothing remains private for long. At first it seems quirky and amusing, but as the days and weeks pass, Gretchen and Jarrod realize that this goes way beyond normal. As I was reading this - and laughing out loud because Erina Bridget Ring’s descriptions are easily pictured - it reminded me of “Green Acres” and “Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman” episodes....I mean that in a complimentary way. Anyone who has ever had a tiff or difference of opinion with their neighbor will surely enjoy this as it goes beyond the pale in a very un-neighborly fashion! Highly recommended!!

This is not the first book I have read by Erina but it is by far the quirkiest and funniest one! Having lived in many neighborhoods herself, I believe the author took characters from some of those neighborhoods she had lived in and some she created from her own imagination. The book is fast paced, and has comical happenings that will literally have you laughing out loud. Due to the quirky, bizarre characters in the book, it was hard to put down. I couldn’t wait to turn the page to see who was going to do what! I have lived in my home for 38 years and their are neighbors that we still only say hello and wave. Now makes me wonder, do they think my husband and I are weird or strange? Does my neighbor down the road have something to hide? What is the gossip around here? I would recommend this book if you want a perfect and quick read book. If you want a book to lift your mood and take your mind off of something, again great book to read

This is the 5th book I have read by this author and just as with her other 4 I have read, this one did not disappoint. It was one of those unbelievable and at the same time funny book about some crazy people you just might happen to live by. It was a really entertaining book for me. When I thought I had heard it all then another situation arises. The author definitely held your interest and compelled you to continue reading because you couldn't wait for the next situation to present itself. Well written with a good deal of description on each of the subjects. I felt as if I was right there in the story and could see all the characters and what they had one. The only negative was that it ended. I could have read a lot more about this neighborhood.

What a book! While I really enjoyed the first two books that I read by this author, THIS book is my favorite, so far. What a bunch of kooks live in this neighborhood. I can't tell you how many times I laughed out loud or muttered an obscenity. So much so that my husband was so curious that I had to read the excerpts to him. While this isn't his genre, he may just pick it up and read the whole story. This book would make an excellent screenplay or comedy series. Wait: They walked what on a leash??? ( not a dog, not a cat ) I think I will always think of Gladys when I see a clipboard from now on!

This year I have been reading mostly Psychological Thrillers but was needing a change so I decided on The Neighborhood, which I was lucky enough, to receive a signed copy from the author. Can I say what a charming delight this book was!!!! The first book that I have read by Ms. Ring but will definitely not be the last.

Who will honestly say that you have checked out what your neighbors are doing or shaking your heads at them? I know I have.

Gretchen and Jarrod O'Malley have moved into a house in the quaint Sherwood Forest neighboorhood on a cul de sac where it appears that their neighbors are welcoming and all friendly. The day after their move, Maggie Gaines comes to visit and offers Gretchen help to unpack. However, the kind offer turns into a very uncomfortable feeling in Gretchen since Maggie is telling her where to put the unpacked items.

Then what Gretchen and Jarrod thought was the ideal neighborhood turns into something that is hard to believe.

This was an entertaining and quick read. I was chuckling at some of the incidents and then feeling creepy at others. I had to keep reading because I wanted to find out what was going to happen next in this little community. The characters were believable, even though, their antics were at times overpowering, quite intrusive and outlandish.

I absolutely loved this book and know that I will never look at my neighbors again without thinking of the residents living in the Sherwood Forest area!

Highly recommend!

First, I must say thank you to Erina Bridget Ring as I was delighted that I won a copy of THE NEIGHBORHOOD.

As Gretchen and Jarrod O’Malley move into their dream home in Sherwood Forest, they soon find out the precarious shenanigans that begin with their neighbors the next morning. Not only do they realize they have the zaniest neighbors in such a kooky neighborhood, but they are swooped into their lies, secrets, gossip and absolute craziness. The O’Malley’s are really down-to-earth, lovely, and normal people that just want to enjoy their new home along with their privacy, but that is not to be the case. Everyone seems to spy on one another, and it’s just one thing after another. At times the story is quite comical as these neighbors are extremely intrusive and obnoxious. I found myself always routing for the O’Malley’s and on their side. I would never want to live in a neighborhood with such dysfunctional and crazy people! Thank goodness I don’t! If you want to read a comical and very quirky novel, then read this book! The reader will certainly be entertained!

This is a quick easy read. Gretchen and Jarrod think they are moving into a nice quiet neighborhood. The very first day of moving in and unpacking Gretchen finds out she was wrong. It begins with the pushy snoppy next door neighbor and her husband who is also pushy. It doesn't take long before she finds out everyone knows everything about everyone. Gossip spreads quickly. Even her hairdresser and the bookstore owner in town know what's happening. The bookstore owner just happens to be writing a story about the town. Or that's what she wants people to believe. She finds out some of her neighbors aren't very nice people. You will love following along with Gretchen and Jarrod as they realize nothing is what they expecting. They even have a nosy neighbor with binoculars and a clipboard which you will find out later in the book what shes using it for- you will be surprised! Thank you Erina Bridget Ring for writing this entertaining book.

Christian fiction story about a strange neighborhood

If you thought you had a strange neighborhood and weird neighbors you must read this book. The people of Sherwood Forest Homes had a new neighbor move in. Gretchen and Jared moved into Sir Richard Road in Sherwood Forest. Strange happenings started as soon as they moved in. One of the neighbors next door tried to help her move in and set up her kitchen. Another one tried to help her husband set up his garage. This is only the beginning. They begin to feel they have the weirdest Neighbors in the world. Neighbors were suing Neighbors, once they thought there was a murder that ended up being something else, a neighbor took people on hunting trips and got shot. It is the worst Neighbors in the world. How long could you live there? And would you live there? Read all the shenanigans going on can I hope you get a kick out of this book? I received this book as a gift and all words are strictly my own.
