Torn between duty and love, which man will she choose?

Torn between two men and two worlds, Mati faces an impossible choice.

Sent away from her homeland of Wales as a child when her mother married their sworn enemy Sir John Ellsrod in an effort to keep the peace, Mati falls in love with his son, Roland. When she is called to abandon her childhood love in order to marry Lord Gareth, cousin to the Prince of Angelsey, she is offered what she most wants in the world: a chance to go home. But the conflict between her long-time love for Roland and her new-found love for Gareth threatens to undo her.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, I’ve not read anything by this author before and now look forward to subsequent books .
It’s a great story of love conquers all ,
Mati and Roland , step brother and sister , grow up together and eventually fall in love , but his father is not for their relationship.
It’s written well but simply , not massive subplots but a good storyline non the less .
A great one for a quick relaxing read with a coffee .

Mati is only 5 when her Welsh father dies in battle. Her mother is then married by proxy to an Englishman to try to promote peace between the countries. Roland is the son of her step-father. Mati and Roland grow up together. Roland is sent away to foster, but Mati is too wild, and a girl, to be sent away to foster. When Roland returns, Mati is all grown up and they fall in love. Roland’s father is very upset and tries to break up the couple by betroths Mati to someone else. This is a well-written book. It shows the discord which existed between England and Wales. Ms. English created a wonderful tale of love and politics. Great read!!
