Every town has stories of its past, and Havenwood Falls is no different. And when the town’s residents include a variety of supernatural creatures, those historical tales often become Legends. This is but one . . .

Emeline Fairchild couldn’t imagine a more perfect match for herself than Drayan Bishop. Her real-life Prince Charming, a powerful mage, freed her from a curse, and she wakes to a new world in a new century. She finds herself in 1913, in a beautiful town in the Colorado mountains, and with Drayan by her side. With such an enchanted beginning, their union would be nothing short of magical. Their love is full of fire and passion—some might say obsession. But as the much anticipated wedding approaches, Emeline soon finds the magic turning dark.

When tragedy comes to their burgeoning little town, Emeline is forced to ask what lengths Drayan went to in order to break her curse. Emotions and trust unravel, but Emeline’s new art master shows her that light is a far greater power than the dark. But is her light enough to defeat the darkness of a jealous and insane mind? Or is it too late to save the true love of her life?

The Havenwood Falls shared world is a collaborative effort by multiple authors across multiple series all in the paranormal fantasy genre, allowing readers to discover new authors and stories to fall in love with. This wasn't bad, but it was a little slow moving. Maybe it was because we had already heard their ending a few times already. This is the real story though, not passed down with what people think happened. Drayan (Dragan) is the Bishop Boys' uncle. It shed some light on them, but whew. I can't wait to go deeper into the Bishop family.

Emeline is an installment in the Legends of Havenwood Falls historical paranormal series featuring a young fae named Emeline prior to the events leading to Forever Emeline. Emeline is engaged to Drayan, a member of the infamous dark Bishop family, and just weeks away from their wedding. Their relationship is a bit obsessive and borderline dangerous at times, but the two can't deny their powerful, passionate attraction to each other. The unusual events leading up to this attraction is explained through their conversation as Emeline tries to unravel her own mysterious past and understand who she really is meant to be. Meanwhile, an occult-like murder happens in town, leading to suspicions that the Bishops are involved. An art teacher also enters Emeline's life and shows her that she is beautiful in a light way that Drayan never has. Her trust in Drayan begins to unravel. This gives her the motivation to ultimately find the strength to choose between the light and the dark. There were times that I really just wanted to grab Emeline and shake her for being so naive not seeing Drayan for who he really was. Just goes to show you how powerful a hold Drayan had on her. The historical parts of this book are expressed through technological advances to explore the boundaries between the living and the dead, which I found very cool and intriguing. Good pace and entertaining read. I hadn't read Forever Emeline. but am definitely interested and recommend that if you enjoyed Forever Emeline that you pick up this one.

Wow just wow. I feel in love with Emeline with her first appearance in "Forever, Emeline" a Havenwood Falls High novella. It left me wanting to know more about her and her story. Let me just say that Katie John did not disappoint in "Emeline". I had conflicting emotions throughout the book. I found myself telling her not to fall for it more then once! Katie John gives an amazing recollection of how Emeline and her family came to Havenwood Falls. This was exactly what I was hoping for. I love reading about how all the families tie into the town.
In Havenwood Falls everyone has a secret and Dragan Bishop is no different. It's hard not to fall for him and then hate him all within a couple of pages. Strongly recommend reading this one and be sure to pick up "Forever, Emeline" too!

Tearful Rollercoaster

I know from the beginning how this book is suppose to go, because I have read the other book. But that does not make Emeline's story any easier to read. You can feel the love that she feels for the Bishop man, but is his love for her as true as it feels as you read it.

You cannot help but fall in love with the couple as you watch them spend time together and grow as a couple, but one thing always tends to ruin what you believe is true.

You will find yourself crying and asking why so many times when you read this book. It still makes me wonder a couple of questions myself. But then in a town like Havenwood Falls, many questions will always go unanswered.

I truly love this story!!

This was a whirlwind of histories and affairs of the heart. Emeline is such a sweet soul who adores her fiance. But.... does Dragan deserve her? Yes, he's broken a curse but is he trustworthy? Henry is one guy who seeks to save Emeline if only she'd allow him to help. Emeline is surrounded by beings that have expectations for her and she's done well in obeying those she must. When her whole world starts to unravel, whom will she trust? This was filled with such heartbreak at its conclusion. This is a character that I really loved!! The whole book was so well written that you actually felt as if Emeline was precious to you as well. Huge applause for Ms. John as she has written quite a poignant story that will remain with you 💝💝💝

I truly enjoyed this story of Emeline and the events in her life. I was truly saddened at the end of the book. I first read about Emeline in Forever Emeline, which the author did an amazing job writing as well. You can read this story before or after Forever Emeline, and I find that I am going to be reading Forever Emeline tonight because I really don't want to let Emeline go. You can't help but love her innocence.

A few months ago we had Forever Emeline, a story about a ghost named Emeline. This is its predecessor. The story of the rather tragic life and death of Emeline Fairchild. In this book we also learn the reason for the long lasting animosity between the Fiarchilds and the Bishops.

Such a sad captivating tale

This novella tells the story of Emeline. The story flowed well. But yet this story was also so sad in the end for me!! I only wish these stories were longer. But I truly enjoyed finding new authors from this collection!

I find this collection very interesting while it is not overlapping in stories it brings different perspectives and plots. Leaving the reader interested in the different versions brought out by different writers of Havenwood.
