Saratoga Falls Love Story #1-4

Saratoga Falls The Complete Love Story Series Box Set

Rate this book
All three Saratoga Falls Love Stories PLUS an exclusive box set-only short story collection.

Big things can happen, even in a small, mountain town like Saratoga Falls. Sam, Mac, Nick, and Reilly know that better than anyone. They’ve been best friends all their lives and gotten into their fair share of sticky spots and shenanigans, they’ve fallen in love and nursed broken hearts, lost loved ones, and reveled in the pleasantly unexpected along the way. They’ve always been there for one another, especially throughout their rollercoaster journeys to self-discovery and happily ever after.

Saratoga Falls is a laugh-out-loud, cry-your-eyes-out series about second chances and the unwavering power of friendship. Bursting with raw emotion, witty banter, and swoon-worthy romance, you’ll feel like one of the crew and fall in love with Saratoga Falls.

1 - Whatever It Takes (Sam and Reilly)
Sam is no stranger to hard work or regret. Working on her father’s horse ranch keeps her focused, which keeps her sane. That is until a heat wave, a pair of familiar blue eyes, and a camping trip with her friends leaves her questioning everything she’s become in the wake of the most horrific night of her life. Whatever It Takes is a story about forgiveness, finding hope in second chances, and embracing the past, especially when he comes rumbling back to town in a lifted, cherry-red pickup truck.

2 - Nothing But Trouble (Mac and Colton)
Mac is a lot of things—smart, sexy, and she can curse like a sailor. But behind her megawatt smile and perfectly pink lips are scars that no one sees. When an inked-up mystery man walks into her dad’s auto shop, Mac’s composed façade begins to waver, and she’s drawn into the arms of a man she can barely stand the sight of. Mostly. Nothing But Trouble is a story of passion and tenderness, Christmas trees and snowball fights. It’s about the true meaning of family and the sacrifices we make for the people we love.

3 - Told You So (Nick and Bethany)
Nick’s the whole package—loyal, hardworking, and he’s got a heart-stopping smile that could make any girl swoon. For years, he’s been fighting his feelings for a certain bad girl, but little does he know, Fate has a few surprises in store for him, and Bethany’s only the beginning. Told You So is a story about love’s imperfections and triumphs, about following your heart, especially when it’s not easy, and a testament that everything is better with pickles.

4 - Saratoga Falls Memory Book
*Exclusive Content* The Memory Book includes nine short stories told by your favorite characters, which will make you fall in love with the Saratoga crew all over again.

Saratoga Falls The Complete Love Story Series Box Set is a set of all three Saratoga Falls Love Stories plus a wonderful Memory Book that is included. The author of this wonderful series is Lindsey Pogue. I have reviewed these books in much more detail individually but for this box set, I have shortened them up to be able to give you an idea of each book.

Book one, Whatever It Takes
This is a second chance love story between Josh Reilly and Samantha (Sam.) They had been in love when they were young but after Josh enlisted, the longer he was gone, the harder it got. They were just kids and Sam fell for someone else only to be badly hurt.

Years later, after the loss of her father, Sam is fighting to save their ranch. Josh has come back to Saratoga Falls for reasons of his own and they are drawn back to each other.

This was a sweet story and was the perfect start to this series.

Book two, Nothing But Trouble
In this one you will meet Machaela (Mac) Carmichael, one of Sam’s best friends, and Colton Hughes, the broody auto mechanic that goes to work for Mac’s family’s garage. These two are drawn together like sticks to a flame but they both have pain in their pasts that they have to overcome. And Colton has an adorable five year old daughter that just loves everyone, and purple nail polish. Sometimes all it takes is an innocent little girl to remind us all of what is really important in life.

Mech

Book three, Told You So
In this book you meet the third best friend of Sam’s, Nick Turner, and the mean girl that you have already met in the previous books, Bethany Fairchild. Both of these two had been fighting the pull that was between them for years. Both had struggling relationships with their parents at home. And Bethany also had assumed most of the care for her autistic brother. In their final semester in college, these two are thrown together for a large project and are forced to face whatever it was that was between them. It also gives them both the chance to really get to know each other. Walls come down and feelings develop as they get to know the real person they have kept hidden. At the same time, they are having to deal with their issues at home and making decisions as to what they will do with their lives after they graduate.

I loved this one. It had the perfect ending that wrapped everything up with all three couples. I guarantee you will walk away from this one with a perfect feeling of closure and happiness.

This collection contains all three Saratoga Falls Love Stories plus a memory book of short stories only available with this set. Saratoga Falls is a glimpse into the lives of a close-knit group of friends in a small town. Sam, Mac, Nick, and Reilly, their family and friends all play a role. They’ve been best friends all their lives. They have supported each other through everything; loss, heartache, heartbreak and now as adults, they are all stepping into new roles and falling in love. Their bonds are still just as strong, only now they are expanding them. This series will make you laugh, cry, fume, and fuss. It captures the true emotions of life. I read them all as they were released. This set allows you to read and enjoy them all together!

Whatever It Takes (Sam and Reilly)
Sam and Reilly found love in high school, but their relationship fell apart when Reilly enlisted in the Army. Sam went on to another relationship that ended with Reilly's interference. Unfortunately, the night her relationship ended also led to disastrous results and a death. Sam is left heartbroken, guilt-ridden, intent on punishing herself, angry, and unable to move on. When Reilly comes back to fix up his family home after his father's death, the two are brought together again in their small town and same set of friends. Both have unresolved feelings; anger, hurt, distrust, but underneath their love is still there. Memories of their shared past are sprinkled throughout the book, so we get to understand exactly how deep their feeling for each other went, but also why they broke up, why it's so hard to let go of past hurts and move ahead together. This is a story about forgiveness, second chances, accepting and embracing the past. Pure emotion, beautiful and raw, worthy of reading. You gotta love a guy in a lifted, cherry-red pickup truck that gets his girl.

Nothing But Trouble (Mac and Colton)
Mac is strong, smart, bighearted. She's the office manager at her dad's mechanic business. She has pretty much put her life on hold to take care of her family, even her friends. Colton has recently been hired as a mechanic by Mac's dad. Mac and Colton's first-meet is one of the more embarrassing first encounters and sets the stage for an awkward co-existence. The two can't decide if they like each other, hate each other, want each other...One thing for certain is that they both make incorrect assumptions about the other. She thinks he's an uncaring, coldhearted man. He thinks she is a high-maintenance socialite. As they get to know each other they find out how wrong they are. Colton is focused on being a great dad to his 5 yr old daughter Casey; his reactions to Mac have been as a single dad trying to put his daughter first. Mac may always look polished, but she's a down-to-earth, fun-loving girl. There's not a bit of snootiness in her; if she's closed off it's due to a painful past. The one thing that they have in common is that they are afraid. Both are scared to become truly involved with anyone. They each have valid reasons, reasons to hide behind, but in the end, both are avoiding a true connection. Both have been hurt, felt abandonment, and trust is an issue. They are intimidated by the other, likely because they both feel there is a real chance for something special between them. Still, as much as they fight it, they are attracted to each other. It's such a pleasure to go along with them as they get closer. The slow build of their love is written perfection. This is a love built on everyday moments, made special because they are shared.

Told You So (Nick and Bethany)
There's something between Nick and Bethany. There always has been. They are drawn towards one another but there's always a misunderstanding or the timing is off. It's complicated. Nick is a beloved local; a former baseball star, a hardworking bartender, about to graduate with an architectural degree. He has an easy smile and lots of close friends. Bethany has a reputation among Nick's friends. She's a homewrecker, a loose, drinking party girl. That's not who she is. She's surviving a dysfunctional, emotionally abusive homelife, she's the most stable, loving person in her 8yr old autistic brother's life. She's about to graduate with a double major and she holds down a job. Now Nick and Bethany have been paired up for a senior project they need to graduate. Despite their history, Nick is determined to get closer to Bethany. When he starts to understand their past misunderstandings better, gets to see the real Bethany he realizes that maybe being friends isn't enough. But as they both face family dramas, can they be brave enough to go after the futures they really want or will it all end in one final falling out. It was an emotional read! I fell deeply in love with both characters. This was truly a perfect romance. Attraction, action, misunderstanding, neglect, repeat every so often. Throw in some interference from family and friends, outside pressures and obligations. This was a beautiful way to wrap up the series. I ended the last page with tears. It felt like I was saying goodbye to close friends. I will just remember the pickles!

Saratoga Falls Memory Book

I downloaded these new stories this morning and couldn't get to them fast enough. Every first I could have asked for! First meetings, first friendships, first dances, first kisses...

This is one of the absolute best series I have ever read!

#1 Whatever It Takes
5 stars.
Amazing story! Filled with romance, laughter e, mostly, the importance of second chances and the constant search for happiness. Beautiful book. I receive this one via the website Instafreebia. I did not know the author e this was my first by her. I was also lucky to be able to get the second book on the series also for free on this website. This is a light and cool read. Great story, I found myself smiling a lot while reading, and the finale was great, it gave me so much peace and seeing how Sam was getting better really made me happy. I loved reading this. Ps. 2nd read update: I'm still completely in love with this story and with the characters! Love, love, love this book!

#2 Nothing But Trouble
5 stars.
What a delicious book to read. Well deserved 5 stars. I loved that I was able to get to know this author and this series. The writing is great, super easy, clean and good on the eyes. Haha. It was a clean romance, with a lot of twists and suspense. This book showed me, mostly, the importance to give people second chances and how we can misunderstand something and create a mess of something that never even happened. Communication is essential for people.
Mac grew a lot during this book, as a daughter, sister, friend and girlfriend. Her family was always her everything and everything changes when her father tells her to focus on herself. Then, she meets Colton, which also works for her dad and it's hate at first sight, haha. Loved that, so unusual. However, during the book and with a lot of things happening, the ending is amazing, HEA definitely. A super fun and entertaining read, made me cry, laugh and fall in love with the whole gang. 2nd read update: Still in love with all of them but, this time, I found myself wanting to know more about David.

#3 Told You So
5 stars.
What an amazing wrap up for the series. I loved it.
After reading the first 2 books in the series I joined Sam and Mac and started "disliking" Bethany as well, especially how she was with Nick all those years and I'm obviously #TeamNick, so I started this book already imagining a totally different character, like superficial and mean. But, I'm so glad the author wrote about Nick and Bethany, it changed my perspective completely. Actually, on Mac's book she was already starting to change our minds about Bethany, but, for me, it was a work in progress since I'm not the forgiving type, sadly.
However, after I really got to know Bethany's story, I saw her a whole lot different. The struggles she had with her family, her baby brother with Autism, showed her a strong, independent and loving person. Her heart is huge despite her family problems and the difficulties in her life to live up all the expectations for her. It was beautiful how she really let go of her wall while with Nick, showing who she really was and how the history between them and their friends was all messed up and especially, all wrong. I did not see that coming.
It was amazing to read more about Nick and his family, it was really enlightening. He was always the one to do the comforting and when I got to know more about him, he was the one that needed to be comforted and helped. I did not like (but understood) that, usually, when his friends have problems he is always there and when he needed, they weren't there. But I understood I it had to be Bethany there, and not Sam or Mac.
Anyway, this was an amazing read. I loved so much reading more about these friends, I loved the scenes when all of them showed up, it was great, the whole gang together. I really hope there's more to come, despite the beautiful closure on all of them, I can't seem to have enough of the Saragota Falls people. Hope to see more about Bobby and the romance with Anne and, wish to see more about David too. I really connected with him this time re-reading Mac's book. Anyhow, it was amazing, I loved every minute of it!

Saratoga Falls Memory Book
This exclusive content was a short read filled with details and moments that I wondered while reading the series. It was amazing to see a few moments that they mentioned in the book but never really got into it.
It was like being in Saratoga Falls all over again, and I loved it. Seriously one of the best, if not the best, series I've ever read.

Saratoga Falls The Complete Love Story Series Box Set
by Lindsey Pogue

I finished the last book in July It is a fast-paced series taking the POV of different characters. I am not normally a romance fan but these were well written and it is more true to life with the conflicts and friendships within a group of childhood friends and some newcomers.
By the end, all loose ends were tied up. You understand why the characters interact like they do.
Book 1 :
We meet the crew Sam, Mac and Nick and their various love interest and friends; We see the dynamics of this group. I feel for Sam as she remembers her granddad and that fateful night. This is not just a romance it is a coming of age story. Friends, family, regrets, hardships, bad choices are made. Yet somehow they know they will get by with a little help from your friends. This was a fun ride back to becoming a young adult and the hardships of the real world.

Book 2: Baby it is cold outside, but this story will warm your heart.
This was written to be a stand-alone book, but it is so much more enjoyable after you have the back-story on the characters from book one. Doing it that way you also get to see how the characters have grown.
I love Mac and the Saratoga Falls Crew. Mac is short for Machaela, Her dad is Cal, Mac works at her dads Auto Shop and keeps things running smoothly, she knows her stuff. Mac’s brothers are Bobby who lives with Mac & Cal is an athlete and plays Hockey and David. David left 8 yrs ago after a big blow out what happened with his friends and Mac. Their mom Katherine left a long time ago and it may not have been easy for Cal but they all realize they were much better off without her.
Nick, Mac’s best guy friend, and Reilly also work at Cal’s shop both part of the core group and we See Sam, Mac’s best girlfriend and her mom Alison. Even their arch nemesis Bethany is in this book and we find out more about her and her life.
Mac and her crew go on their annual winter trip. It is always a good time when they all get together. This year the new guy in town Colton a new heir at the shop joins them. Mac cannot believe her dad hired someone while she was gone. Mac is the one who does the vetting of new heirs. Mac and Colton’s first meeting did not go well for either of them; it was quite funny to an outsider in a mischievous kind of way. There is also something Colton has not told Mac about.
Cal wants Mac to get a life sort of speak, her whole life has been tied up in the stables, shop and taking care of Cal & Bobby.
Katherine and David waltz back into their lives at different times.
Mac finds a guy she could see really giving her whole self to for the first time since the devastating betrayal.
Cal has a cutie teaching him how to cook, now that Mac won’t be there to cook for him and Bobby.
I really do love this series even though I am not a romance fan. I like how Mrs. Pogue writes more about family, friendship, discovery, building and nurturing the relationships that are comparable to RL and her characters are well written and has depth and personality. Her books are not about over the top with bed-hopping and they are not graphic encounters. They are sweet and realistic. Mrs.Pogue is a very talented storyteller,I love the world she has created here.
I would have liked to have this group of friends growing up with the ability to cultivate the friendships into adulthood.
I was an ARC reader and I liked the story so much I also purchased the book as well. I hope to pass them down to my grand daughter's. I already have book one in both paperback and ebook.I am looking forward to the next book in the series.

Book 3: Told You So (A Saratoga Falls Love Story Book 3) Our fave group is back Book three focuses more on Nick Turner and Bethany Fairchild. They have a rocky relationship but love or hate they do it with passion. Nick is a good guy and devoted friend to Sam and Mac, he is in his last yr of college and his major is in Architecture and Design, he has been teamed up with Bethany the misunderstood, perceived mean girl who is a double major in Design and Psychology for their final exam they will be working on a project together. He is determined to revive their friendship.

Book 4: Every story has two sides. We find out that Nick & Bethany’s final project is to turn Sam’s barn into an office space for her ranch. Sam trust Nick and she want to help him get a good grade. She isn’t sure about Bethany being on the project but she will give her a shot for Nick's sake.
We find out more about Bethany’s home life and what had bonded her and Nick together in the first place. Bethany is the only one who can reach her Autistic little brother. She had always been there for him. Her parents are too self-involved to deal with him. In fact, they hardly know him. What happens to him when Bethany just can’t take the dysfunction of her family life anymore and moves out? We finally see the real Bethany.
All loose ends were tied up in this last book.
Kudos to the Author of this series, “Well done.” I have enjoyed watching this cast of characters grow and the storyline evolve. I can hardly wait to see where this Author takes us next.

The Saratoga Box set is a collection of three outstanding novels as well as a short story novella with a collection of Memories.

Whatever it takes:
What Ever It Takes is a nice light romantic read, following Sam and Riley.
In Whatever It Takes, you follow memories and events that lead Sam and Riley to come to a more forgiving conclusion of their relationship.
I fully enjoyed this novel. It was fun, light and a quick read. It made me laugh and smile, which is hard to find in a book.
You learn a lot from Sam's side of the story. I enjoyed the growth of this character as she learns to forgive and forget. To learn that hurting herself (either physical or mental) was not the best to help her pain. Not only did she learn to forgive herself, she learned to move on and try again in love.
Riley is your typical soldier. In control and organized. However when he and Sam are thrown back together, you see the hesitation. Hurt from Sam's breakup with him and her standoffish temperament around him. Riley is on the verge or reenlisting when he realizes he still loves Sam. Torn between retirement and reenlistment, he has to decide what is best for his broken heart.

Nothing But Trouble:

Review I received a copy of Nothing But Trouble for the author for an honest review.

Thank you Lindsey Pogue.

In Nothing But Trouble you follow Mac and Colton. Both had a troubling past of their own.
Mac's mother and oldest brother left when she was a kid and has a scar that she can't seem to forget. Now in her twenties, Mac's life turns upside down with the arrival of her father's new employee, Colton.

Colton is grateful to have the job as a mechanic. It's what he knows and loves. But when the boss's daughter comes back to work from vacation, he knew he's in for trouble. Can't helping to admire her quick whit and give-no-bull attitude, Colton tries to be careful with his wounded heart. Not only is he new in town, but he has a past of his own.

What I love about Nothing But Trouble is that it gives you a different perspective of a new situation. Instead of exes trying to fight for you back, you have exes supporting you and your decisions, which is new to me in a book. You have two characters that both have been hurt to different degrees. One was heart broken and the other used. both have parental issues, which I find interesting. But while one tries to start a new life the other is raising a child.

I had many emotions while reading this book. I was laughing, angry, happy and sad. The author knows how to connect to her readers.

Told You So:
I can't put into words how bitter sweet this book made me feel!! Since book one, I have been ready for Nick and Bethany's story. We finally got it and man the feels are getting to me.
Through out the trilogy, every time we met Bethany, we got the impression of a selfish, uncaring chick who loved drama and breaking hearts. Little did we know, that it was all a front, for a girl with a broken heart.
Nick. He was always there for Bethany and She always ran him over. Nick brings the term of "nice guys finish last" to life.
Wonderful conclusion to this trilogy!

Memory Box:
The Memory Box is a fun set of memories from each character during different parts of their lives. from how they all met to how they had broken hearts. This is a wonderful short novella to go along with the trilogy set.

Sam, Mac, Nick, and Reilly are forever friends-until life sends them on journeys to address their demons, conquer their fears, and bring them back home. I loved each of these characters, felt their pain and sorrow, felt knots in my tummy at the uncertainties life brought them, and released the breath I didn't know I was holding when each one got their HEA.
I appreciate that the characters are relatable, not some rich billionaire broading away while locked up in his penthouse. And even though its been a few years since I was that age (ahem), I remember that period of my life very vividly and recall how hard it was to navigate that transition between teen to new young adult, and how important it is to have a strong support network, even if its just the family you choose.

The Saratoga Falls Series is everything you want in a modern YA series. There is romance, humor, and real world problems that sometimes are hard to talk about. Each book follows one of the three main characters (Sam, Mac, and Nick) along with their struggles in their love lives, and also their personal lives. Each book revisits previous characters and their whole gang is a delight. Each book can be read as a stand-a-lone, but it is so much better to read the whole series!

Say it with me kids, two broken people does not make one whole person!

As someone who has dealt with serious mental health problems, no matter how bad I wanted to be better for my girlfriend I had to go to therapy and actually get the tools to help myself.

The writing was really good but the message is so dangerous. Putting all your happiness in one person and relying on them to make you whole and cure your depression is a recipe for disaster.
