Small town hospitality doesn’t exist in the apocalypse. Officer Sparks and her team barely survived their first encounters with the undead. As they travel upriver towards the relative safety of the sparsely populated west, new threats emerge as do new allies. Day Zero has ended, but the battle for survival is just beginning.
Quote: “Look, bottom line is, we need you. Your country, and hell, the entire world needs you.”
Review: This book picks up right where Day Zero finishes, I don’t feel like the plot really moves anywhere and anytime the scene changed it felt like it was the same thing. The writing was okay at bested definitely needs improvement. I did pair this with an audio which may be helped a little bit. The book is a short read and while I don’t regret reading it, but I’m not entirely sure if I’m gonna continue with the series.
Dead Texas (#2), Dead Texas / Dead America Universe (#2)
As our intrepid team lead by Sparks journey on to find help they run into a few problems. A militia out for their own gains, an ornery store keeper with lots of weapons and ammo, zombies being held in a locked classroom and corral, and Principal Dan. Just another day. Oh they lose a member of their team to the military to help solve the virus problem.
I am enjoying this series. I like that the FMC is the one with the knowledge of hand to hand and guns and can hold her own. The characters are diverse as well. Minorities and elders are represented with knowledge and skill and importance. Also the FMC is also a professional wrestler so that's entertaining.
Ostina, Teksasas štatā, un pirmās mini sērijas Dead Texas galvenā varone Leisija Spārksa ir vien nesen uzsākusi darbu policijā, vēl cīnās pret seksimu vīriešu dominētajā darbavidē, kad kāds terorists, kurš vēlāk sērijā netiek pieminēts par savu uzbrukuma mērķi izraugās NFL futbola spēli.
This suffers from a serious lack off proofreading. It's a shame because the story isn't bad and the characters are starting to develop more depth. Hoping for improvement in the next one.
Loved this second book in the series. It offered some very interesting and colorful characters. I really liked Rufus and his cantankerous personality. This was a fast paced flight and fight.
This book will keep you entertained till the end! Only gave it 4 stars because they did an extremely poor job of proofreading and comes with many grammar mistakes. It gets annoying. But it's a very fun story!
3.5/5 as i said in my review for book 1, i've been listening to the audiobook version on youtube. i've honestly been enjoying the characters, i quite like sparks, jeff, ben, and rufus and hopefully ben isn't going to get fucked by the military. one thing i didnt expect was for this series to make me actually like a skinhead. like yeah he allegedly only got those tats to save himself in prison but still lol. rufus is so silly i love the chaos grandpa trope (def not the real name but yk) and i'm gonna be real bummed when he eventually dies probably doing something heroic. this books villains are so silly like there's really just dozens and dozens of neonazis running a nomadic terrorist commune in the middle of texas and that's not even the fantastical element of the story
