Solid 4 star read!
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

As “Break” was my first book by Jennifer Vester and as I didn’t even know about the blurb, I literally dove in blind. I love the idea of giving a book and a new author to me a chance without any expectations.

And my courage was rewarded: wonderful love story with easy lovable characters. The story shows in a really nice ways that it's totally ok to have faults, no matter if physical or emotional. And that we shouldn't judge ourselves for it nor should we judge others. Nobody is perfect and everybody carries his own luggage.

The story starts playfully as the two main characters seem they can’t stand one another. With mostly blunt encounters they act almost funny around the other which made me smile a lot. Their attraction was not only obvious to their friends but to me as reader as well, what made those interactions even more comically.

But when things drastically and unexpectedly change for Kate, so changes their relationship. Even though Logan is still mostly the dominant alpha around Kate, he apparently actually really cares about her.

The chemistry between Kate and Logan is perfectly developed and perceptible.

As good as things seem to evolve between Kate and Logan it was expectable that something was yet to blow off.

With a broken heart Kate seeks the distance and Logan help. At this point I would have loved to read more about Logan’s real problem and how he dealt with it.

Kate’s sudden take off throws Logan off guard and he finally understands that he needs help and to change becoming the man Kate deserves.

A long the way Kate finds a way back to herself. And I love the fact, that both of them made the right decision, giving the other the space needed. Even though I knew, Logan would be devastated over losing Kate and looking for her fanatically.

The other characters which already have been introduced in the first two books of this series (which I yet have to read) are funny easy to love, even though they only appear shortly. Except for Andie, but her book is yet to come.

However, their short appearance made me curious and I’m now looking forward reading the first two books soon.

The story has a nice and steady flow, some twists and turns, which are mostly predictable. This is the only thing that kept me from giving this book 5 stars.

Jennifer Vester’s writing style is really captivating and she knows how to keep your eyes clued to the pages.

*Swoon* Logan & Kaitlyn are my favorite story yet, I think - altho Brock & Andi are looking to give them a run for the money. ; ) I adore Logan, even though he's going through some crap & he's an inconsistent jerk for part of the beginning of the story. When it counts, he steps up. Kate is spunky & sparkly & - as Logan says - can find the light in any darkness. I LOVE that about her!!

These two are also a BIIIIT more kinky than our previous two couples. I mean, WHEW! There's also a mystery & some action, and one point had me yelling NOOOOOO! There are some tears, but more laughs and smiles and happy.

Love this book, love this series, and SUPREMELY looking forward to book 4, Chase!!! : )

Kaitlyn (Kate) is a physical therapist's assistant and has a crush on Dr. Logan Matthews. Yet she is never sure where she stands with him and his hot and cold behavior that is making her confused. Yet when she is kicked out of her house by her Uncle Richard he is there to give her a place to live.

Dr. Logan Matthews has his own personal demons from his past and he is overcoming an injury from an explosion that left him burned. He is very possessive when it comes to Kate yet he doesn't believe he is good enough for her and pushes her away every time she gets close.

Will Logan be able to conquer his own demons before he loses Kate and will he be able to straighten himself out in time before he loses her completely?

This was such a great book and I truly love this series!

I thought Kate was such a good character who was struggling after losing her place to live. I was hoping that they would revisit that a little and see if her uncle had shady dealings and maybe they will in the future. She had so much bad luck in a row and I was crossing my fingers that things would turn around for her.

I loved Logan from previous books and so I was confused by his behaviour but gradually everything began to fall into place and come clear. I was so happy for what was revealed and how Cade helped Logan get everything straightened out and get Logan healthy again.

One of my favorite things was the text messages between Logan and Kate and they made me laugh so hard! I loved the playful side of Logan and it was so much fun to read!

I understood Kate's reason for leaving and I was glad that Brock was able to keep an eye on her and you knew eventually Logan would show up. I thought this Logan was so dedicated to proving to Kate that he was ready for her.

I was so blindsided by the revelation at the end!! Loved it!

I can't wait for more in this series!

I read all the books in the series, so let me start out by saying that I liked them all; each had a different feeling to it and at the same time, they were like romantic suspenseful stories, at least to me. This is the third book in the series and I have to say so far my favorite :)

Logan and Kate's chemistry was witnessed, at least by me in "Hide", but of course, Logan was with the cold demeanor. Honestly, I didn't like him at first, his lack of emotion, but as the story progresses, we see a different side of him, a side with a lot of problems that when these two finally get together, will make Kate leave... leave to find herself and to Logan finally realize what he lost and do everything in his power to get better and claim what's his <3

Kate is a strong, sassy and her personality is light, which to Logan said, "Can find light in the darkness"... and Logan had a lot of dark moments but luckily, he finds his way thanks to Kate leaving him, which honestly I probably would have done the same. She needed that distance, space and time to find herself and mend her broken heart. But everything happens for a reason and these two reunite and good surprises emerge from their reunion ;) can't spoil it so go read this, you won't regret it :)

Obviously, the other couples are seen here but not as much as Andi, Logan's sister and the heroine for the last book in the Lakefield Series and the man for her is none other than Brock ;)
This has a little bit of everything like the other two last books, including not an epilogue... but don't be disappointed, the fourth which is the final book in this series, shows you how all of the couples are doing and their HEA <3

Wow…that was a lot different from the first two books in the series. I absolutely loved the first two, this one not so much. Logan was a giant jerk for the first 60% of the book. He was such a 180 from how he was in the previous books! I didn’t like him at all. Kate was right to run far away from him. He was an ‘active’ addict and had no good qualities apart from being somewhat protective of Kate. Don’t get me started on the OW. And then after becoming clean and going to rehab, he was still a jerk. He needed to grovel and apologize wayyyy more. He just came back into her life and demanded they picked up where they left it. Uhm…just no. Then she says “I love you” first and he doesn’t right away say it back? Ughh.
Then we finally got some suspense…and he leaves her all alone in a cabin in the woods even though there is a serial killer out there killing pregnant women?? What? Surprise, surprise something happens. And then to top it off one of the 5 main male characters (all of the other ones got a book) just dies off page? Out of nowhere…oh by the way he got shot and is dead? Okayyy…nope.
This was so not my jam. I will read Brock’s book though, because he is intriguing…hopefully his book is more like the first two in the series.

Safety:
-OW: after meeting, but before relationship (but supposedly already interested in h): “he seemed to find a girlfriend every other week these last few months” (turns out they were paid escorts and pharmaceutical reps he “fugged” to get more drugs 🤮)
- No OM
- No cheating
- Third act break up / couple month separation (good, because H was a major jerk)
- Deals with addiction

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book
this is the first book by Jennifer Vester I have read and I can say it will NOT be my last.
WOW this book was amazing. It is book 3 of a series but written in a way that it can easily be read as a standalone.
Kaitlyn has had a crush on Dr. Logan Matthews ever since she started working at the clinic, but she keeps getting mixed
signals from Logan. He is hot and cold towards her. Most of the time she feels he hates her. Kate feels that he is bad luck for her
since the moment she met him things have gone from bad to worse for her. First her favorite bush died ( a lavender bush) then
he jumped her about her clothing she was wearing during a PT session with a client. Then she losses her home (well it was her late grandmothers house and her uncle owns it) When Logan finds out that Kate is sleeping in her car in the parking garage of the clinic he
takes matters in his hands and basically forces Kate to come stay with him (in his basement apartment as his housekeeper) Logan is now being Hot again. Sending her flirty texts with Pictures. There is so much to this book not only the love story but a murderer and suspense as well!
I wont give much away but OMG I LOVED this book it was absolutely amazing. I HIGHLY recommend this book

I have to say this book is different to the others it feels darker as there isn't that much humor to it, but you know what life isn't always fun. We get to see how Logan is dealing with things after he suffered burns from the house explosion in book 1 as well as how poor Kate is dealing with Logan's mean streak he appears to have for her which she doesn't need right now as her life is falling apart. I will honest Logan was a complete jerk and very Jekyll and Hyde in the beginning and a lot different to his character in book 1 but later on all is explained so stick with it. With Kate I just wanted to bundle her up and keep her safe especially as she feels he is bad luck and things just keep getting complicated for her. The ending this book will have your jaw gaping open, nails bitten and yelling Nooooooooooo! how could you Jennifer, I really wanted Cade and Suzanne to have their own story!!!

Kate has a crush on Logan, the doctor at the clinic she works at. But he can't seem to stand being around her. It hurts so much that she is contemplating getting a new job. Suddenly she is homeless and doesn't want to impose on friends. So she sleeps in her car and advertises at work that she is available for housekeeping. Logan sees her sleeping in her car and can't stand the thought of something happening to her. He offers her a job and that is when things go off the rails. Will Kate ever find happiness and will Logan ever admit that he loves her?

Man, Break literally broke my heart. Kate is such a sweetheart and deserves happiness. It takes a lot of courage on her part to handle things the way she did. Logan hid how bad things were for him so deep that it almost destroys him and Kate. This book took my addiction to Jennifer Vester's writing into full on obsession! I cannot wait to dig into Chase! I cannot recommend the Lakefield series enough, they are amazing reads!

Kaitlyn has liked Dr. Logan Matthews for quite some time, however, she can't figure out was she has done to upset him. He's bossy and domineering and they are not even together. On top of dealing with the overbearing sexy doctor, her uncle shows up and kicks her out of her home. The hard knocks of life won't keep her down.

However, she's shocked when Logan barges into her life and tells her that she is coming to stay at his house, the messy situation gets worse.

Logan has loved Kate but he can't seem the get through the emotions. He's numb. After he gets out of rehab he has to track her down. But he's never letting her go.

Kate left Logan and moved to the mountains and into the cabin her grandmother left her. Life must move on and Kate plans to live it.

Fast paced romance.

I have been really enjoying this series and this book was no exception. I like that it showed a different type of character for Logan. Yes he was still a hot bossy alpha but I enjoyed seeing a vulnerability due to his insecurities about his scars and the addiction problems he faced.

I felt the slow burn of this book worked well in the beginning however the ending seemed a bit abrupt. Literally a few pages from the end, one of the main secondary characters from all 3 books is killed and all it warrants is a few sentences.

Another bugbear of mine, in any book is a woman acting surprised when she gets told she is pregnant. You have had unprotected sex and have been throwing up every morning for a week...did it not even cross your mind? Really? Especially when in this case she works in a Drs office.

All in all an enjoyable read. I highly recommend this series.

This is my first book by Jennifer Vester and I have to say this was extremely well written. The story is wonderful and has a flow to it that you just can't put down. I haven't read the first two books but I didn't feel lost like if I didn't read them I would never understand this one. I loved Logan's character. He is moody but playful at times. Kaitlyn is has an amazing personality that is felt throughout the writing. There is a little mystery and suspense in it as well that makes it very interesting. The only thing I would have liked to have seen developed just a little more was the ended. It seemed to end a little quickly but even with that it is still worth 5 stars. It is definitely worth reading. I voluntarily review an advanced reader copy of this book.

This book has it all from murder, mystery, suspense, surprises, twists and turns, love, lust, getting better and finding yourself.

Logan is a moody playful doctor at the clinic where Kaitlyn works. However, she always feels like he is avoiding her at all costs, until her life takes a turn and she finds herself sleeping in his house. This is a blessing in disguise for both of them. Can Logan come out of rehab and go back to Kate? Will she ever take him back? Can they survive the serial killer on the loose?

This is my first book by Jennifer Vester and I will have to go back and read the rest in the series, and can't wait for Andi and Brock!!! I received an ARC of this book for my review.

Addiction is a beast and turns the sweetest of persons in a dual minded beast. On the one hand Logan is the one that helps everyone, holds them accountable, patches them up and is the nurturer of the group but now we get the meat and find out what is up with Doc. In the meantime I love that Kaitlyn was strong enough to take care of her heart and leave. There is a lot of meat in this book and it is good. Of course this author mikes to mix things up so there is an unexpected hit taken by the group and good old Brock and his voyeurism to keep things interesting. The suspense is great with startling results and gives you more to look forward to in the next book. Although I would have loved an epilogue, my broken heart probably couldn't have taken it.

im still reeling from the ending.. Im not sure how I feel about how the good ol doctor was overly hot then cold with Kate. I understood why but there were some things that just seemed over the top. things just seemed way too fast considering they were only together a couple days for all that's worth. and Cade! argh!! it seemed brushed off too soon! there were some things I wasn't too sure about on how to feel but anyways..

great plot, just like the other two. thrilling and I did NOT see that twist coming. well done and definitely excited to read about brock. for someone who rarely goes out, he sure has been showing up a lot recently in book 2 and 3

poor guys and the craziness that follows with their women haha

OMG... This story was totally not how I thought it was going to play out. It was sooooo much better. You deal with drug problems, a serial killer, and a pregnant woman!
I loved Logan and Kaitlyn's story! They have this chemistry even though Logan has this massive pill addiction. Kaitlyn runs off to this house her grandmother left for her to get away from Logan and all hi issues. However, Logan does everything he can to find her once he is out of rehab and in the meantime, there also happens to be a serial killer on the loose near Kaitlyns house. So much happens in this book that you are kept on your toes the entire time!
I cannot wait to read the next story in this series!

This was a really good series. I enjoyed reading each book. Just to see what the characters were up to. I like Jennifer reading style. Love how this book is viewed from Kates point of view. Once you start the book, you don't want to put it down. Kate really has feelings for Logan. When Kate is left homeless, Logan steps in and allows her to stay with him. One unfortunate incident happens which leads Kate to moving to the mountains. She get's the surprise of her life. Not all is what it seems like with Logan. This book had a twist you didn't see coming. I cannot wait for the next book in this series.

Wow! I loved the third book in this series!
Logan, the mysterious doctor, who is and isn't part of the hot, bossy Lakefield crew of Alphas, is the object of Kaitlyn's affections and has been since she first met him. But at work, he's not so nice and she really wants to keep her distance. But Logan isn't having any of that! lol
Innocent Kaitlyn runs away after a night of passion with Logan and he's got his own problems to deal with. He eventually gets his act together and goes hunting her down and then the story REALLY gets going!!!
Expect drama, steamy interludes, banter and a very good read.
I can't wait for the next book!

Kaitlyn and Logan broke my heart, then put it back together again. Without spoiling too much, I'll say that Kaitlyn needed a hand. Logan offered her friendship and more, but constantly yanked away the "and more" when his own issues got in his way. After a particularly painful learning experience, Kaitlyn runs away, leaving Logan to sort himself out and go after her (with the help of my favorite, Brock). These two worked hard to gain their HEA, and while I was sad to know where they ended up geographically, I loved the story and how it all came together. It certainly didn't hurt to have some of Brock's humor and obsessiveness thrown in.

This is book three in this series about the moody, alpha male Logan and the sweet, virgin Kate. These two work together and Logan tries his best to keep his distance, but his head and his heart just won’t agree with one another.
Kate and Logan share a special night, but the next morning when she feels rejected, Kate leaves Lakefield. Logan faces a tough battle himself and is bound and determined to find Kate as soon as he can. This is when things get real!!
This book has all the feels. Love, stubbornness, happiness, sadness, sexiness and mystery. This book is a must read.

each story in this series makes you think about the reality of the things people go though, Jennifer Vester touched some amazing subjects that not many people are able to write about and still make the book fun and entertaining. Although Logan and Kate broke my heat at times they also made me think about the reality that many people face when they deal with what they dealt with. Jennifer Vester managed to break my hear a little but she also managed to put back together and gave us in my opinion a couple who fought to be together and who overcame things that some people deal with outside of books.

Jennifer Vester continues to amaze me Break is the third book in the Lakefield series and I’m not tired yet. Original storylines with the right amount of suspense and passion. Logan and Kate are both dealing with their own battles. Logan was cold and dark but I enjoyed truly seeing who he was as the story progressed. Kate is the light Logan needs to reveal what’s in his heart. Logan and Kate don’t have an easy go at their relationship. There are high and lows that only add to the suspense and drama in Break. I’m continuing to be sucked into this series. Jennifer Vester writing is passionate and engaging. I voluntary reviewed an ARC of this book.

I was given a free copy for an honest review.

I really enjoyed this storyline. Kaitlyn and Logan are really well written characters and I was 100% invested in their relationship right from the start.
Kaitlyn as a character is strong and resilient and I liked that she didn't dwell on bad things that happened in life. Logan starts off as a bit of an idiot when it comes to Kaitlyn but he has good character development.

I wish there was more for the side characters as it would of made it more impactful for the storyline and I would of loved some of Logan's POV.

Overall it was a really good story with great characters and I really enjoyed it.

This is a fast pace book. Kate or Kaitlyn was always on her own. She always looks at the bright side of things instead of the dark. Her boss Logan Mathews always seemed angry or upset at her. Was bossy to tell you what or how to do. When she’s kick out of her home she spends a night in her car but her boss hates it and gets her to go home with him and one thing after another things happen and feelings start but he is a hot and cold type guy and she can’t stand it after one night where she’s so hurt she needs to leave. Logan knows he mess up but can’t find her. She’s off the grid and it’s killing him. Will they find each other and make things right or just be sad? Grab this book.

This is the 3rd book in this series so far and it does not disappoint. All of these books are so in are woven with different characters that it makes some really great to red. Each one has an element of disaster or danger as well as love, lust, and comedy.

This book follows Logan and Kate. They are two very different people but can't deny the strong pull they have towards each other. And just when you think they are going to give love a try, a big wrench gets thrown into the mix.

This story has great character development and an interesting plot. I will definitely continue to read this series!

Break is the first book I have read of Jennifer Vester and I really enjoyed the whole book. Kate is a physical therapist assistant and has a huge crush on Dr. Logan Matthews. Even though he seems to be bad luck for Kate she just can't help it. Logan has his own issues but is pulled in by Kate and their chemistry takes off. This book provides many twists and turns I did not see coming. I didn't want to put it down and found myself rooting for Logan and Kate throughout the book. I am excited to go back and read the first two books of this series. Definitely worth it. Enjoy!!!

Ok.... where to start. Logan, Logan, Logan what can I say I really wanted to stick my size 8 up your a$$ a few different times. Kaitlyn sweet sweet Kaitlyn so innocent and have I told you sweet. There are some misunderstandings and an alpha male who has to pull his head out of his ass and make up for being an idiot. I'm glad he can work through his issues and prove to Kaitlyn that she is worth everything to him. There is heartache, love, and a twist that had me guessing until the very end. Now I'm off to 1 click the next one in the series.

I don’t know about this book I didn’t enjoy it as much as I did with the other two. I didn’t really like Logan’s character no offence but he was an asshole and if it was me I wouldn’t even give him a first chance. I liked the part when Kate left him that showed she was at least strong but that didn’t really last long. Also to the author why did you do that to Cade, I hope it’s not true because I feel like Cade was one of the good guys and he deserves a book that I would definitely read he was such a sweet, caring man I was really looking forward to his book 😭
