I was born in St. Paul, Minnesota, I still live there as well as in Dublin, Ireland. I've been a soldier, freelance journalist, tended bar, sold designer cakes, owned a painting and decorating company along with a number of other schemes and scams. If that doesn't offend you I also play bagpipes with the Brian Boru Irish Pipe Band. All my books stand alone, read them in whatever order you wish. They are filled with the sort of oddballs we are all curious about, but wisely, prefer to keep at a distance. None of my characters will be saving the world from terrorism, international banking conspiracies or coups to take over the government. Rather, they inhabit a world just below the surface of polite society, characters with one foot on either side of the law. The circumstances they find themselves in are usually due to bad decisions, but bad decisions lead to interesting stories. They serve not so much as an example but as a warning to us all. Thanks for taking the time, happy reading.

Laugh out loud, Fun detective stories

I just finished a marathon of Volumes 1-5 of the Jack Dillon Dublin Tales. How Jack, a US Marshall ends up attached to the Dublin detective bureau is a story by itself. How he gets by, being the unassuming polite gentleman that he is, is another story. Imagine Russian mafia murders and missing or murdered Americans on Dublin turf and one American detective. I can’t wait to start Volume 6. Highly recommended.

Jack Dillion Tales was very entertaining and hard to put down. I read 1-5 and will definitely read the additional books. I am a big fan of murder mysteries and recommend Mike Faricy's books. I have read his Dev Haskell themed books and the plots and characters are so creative. The Jack Dillion characters are unique and believeable. I recommend Mike Faricy as an author if one likes mysteresties laced with humor and a murder or two.

WELCOME
Having read his other books under Mike Farcy, and this is another comical series with his love of women and mishap. He has a boss that doesn’t like him, Jack, who is a US Marshall, saying he is the only one that can go to Ireland and bring back a prisoner. The Russian mob had other ideas. Shooting at the airport and Jack winds up in hospital.
Good start to a new series, wondering where Jack is going to do next.
SWEET DREAMS
Jack has dreams of living it up while recuperating from a gun wound. Instead he has a price on his head, the mob doesn’t like him, for he cut into their profit. They are now using him as bait, to catch more of the mob. It is Irish humor and makes a good story to read.
MIRROR. MIRROR
Six weeks with out someone trying to kill him, still working with the Irish cops. Visiting the pub, thinking that the Guinness Beer as a health drink. Not to long ago served daily in hospitals. Call they needed his expertise. Cash in transit van was hit. He remember the case Jack did in New Jersey that guy is out of prison, he escaped six weeks ago. Two and two isn’t adding up to what the driver is saying happened with the robbery. One of the dead was the brother of a crime boss. Interesting to figure out.
SILVER BULLET
Jack with Lin the nurse from his hospital stay, going to enjoy having seventy two hours off, they promised. An accident involving an American and need him. Sued, remarks this will be more fun, than what Jack had planned. Middle of the day, small caliber weapon. After Embassy is notified this will take on another meaning, with it being political. He was a student, and son of a Senator. Boy’s dream of getting into a rock band was that his downfall. Enjoyable and the answers come an usual source.
FAIR CITY
Jack still in Dublin, looking for connection between ATM machines being robbed and a corpse minus a head and hands. He is assigned to work with Garda. Good dialog as they look for the connection.
Still dealing with the Russian mob, and that will continue.
A good comical with action of crimes stories for Jack to solve.

Captivating

Not normally my type of reading but I was hooked from page two or three. An American Marshal comes over to Southern Ireland to escort a prisoner back to the States in connection with his crimes, at the airport they are ambushed and the prisoner is shot , not before the Marshal shoots of a few rounds killing 3 of the culprits which could’ve started an international incident between the USA and Ireland. marshal Dillon, also known as Dildo is convinced to work for the Garda instead of returning , there ensues a fantastic story where the Irish are trying to track down and stop a Russian gang from murdering robbing and killing people. And Dillon is the number one target for the Russians!!!You should treat yourself to a copy. I wish I could award more than 5 stars. I was gripped and can’t wait for the 6th book.

Reading 5 books one after the other takes some time. But I did see so much similarity in the stories I was getting bored. The Marshall continued to act like a college Frat boy with his constant sex with all the women he met. The story line was good and for the most part entertaining. The characters were real like. The stories will hold your interest while you follow the crimes through all 5 books. You could form some what of a Bond with the Marshall in that he was always not being recognized for his achievements. He was given the desk that was the office trash dump and the worse vehicles in the pool. The US Marshall's office sent him to Ireland to bring back a prisoner which he failed to do. They put him on permanent loan in Ireland.

US Marshal vs Russian mob in Ireland

Marshall Dillon (really?) sets off to return a prisoner to the US over a long weekend. A whole series of books follows. They are full of action and quick read. The author or editor needs to learn how to use spell check. You would think that by the 5th book they would get all the names right. Otherwise it was an interesting collection. I'll have to think about reading the rest of the series. For now it is a maybe. I'll be back if I start to miss Marshal Dilon.

This collection is the first five books.

An unusual tale about a US cop conveniently despatched to Ireland by his boss who can’t stand him.
Things don’t go well andJack Dillon ends up being seconded to the Garda in Ireland, which suits both Jack and his boss.
Russian mobsters feature heavily in the stories as does a string of different female companions for Jack.
Jack is a fairly laid back fella and I don’t understand why he and his boss don’t like each other.
He fits into the Irish police very well as he does the nightlife, particularly the Guinness.
Very likeable characters and stories and worth reading.

Maybe the later volumes are better

The first four vo!umes had a bit of humor, but the plots were as thin as the icing on a glazed doughnut. The protagonist has the libido of a teenager and cannot remember his woman of the night's name. By volume five the plot seems to improve, yet not too much. I will not be looking for additional volumes.

Overseas Adventure

It took a long while for me to finish this book(s). I say books since there were a number of them that ran in together.
I enjoyed them but unfortunately was going back and forth between this and something else I was into at the moment.
If you like cop books you'll like these.

Dublin,Ireland!

Each of these stories was fast paced and action packed. Each could be read alone but together they tell a great story. Not all of the crimes come to a conventional conclusion ...but.that makes each story even better.

Fast-moving care stories

Fast-paced, believable characters and situations. Set in Ireland with Irish police and one American Marshall, invoked in ongoing robberies and killings by gangsters who also are targeting the US Marshall. Truly great reads!

Jack Dillon is a deputy US Marshall on loan to the Dublin, Ireland police. The books are well written and interesting. Some sex, violence, and language but not excessive. A great read.

Makes me wonder how many of these books I'll have to procure until I see the ending. Other than that, they are well written and the many characters are interesting.
