Irish is the 5th book in the Reed Security Series and should be read in order.
“Not a chance in hell. I happen to like my hands wrapped around your juicy ass.”
She reared back and looked at me in horror. “You think my ass is juicy?”
“Uh, you’ve seen it, right? It’s big and perfect for me to grab onto.”
She struggled to get down and then pushed me away and stalked out of the water. “I can’t believe you just said my ass was big,” she yelled over her shoulder.
I stood there a minute trying to figure out what the hell I said that was so wrong. She had the most gorgeous ass I’d ever seen. Didn’t all girls want a big ass like that Kardashian woman? I ran after her and gripped onto her arm, swinging her around to see me.
“I like that your ass is big.”
She burst into tears and I stood there with wide eyes, wondering what I was supposed to do. There was a reason I didn’t date women. I didn’t know what the hell to say to them on the best of days. Sex was easy. Please them and they’ll be screaming your name the whole night. This…this was totally foreign to me.
“Having a big ass is a good thing. Men like to know they have something to grab onto. Besides, we want to know that you’re sturdy enough that we won’t break you when we f@k you.”
She looked up at me through her tears and cried even harder. “So, now I’m sturdy? Like a tree? Next thing, you’re going to tell me I have big thighs.”
“Big? No, definitely not big. They’re thick and muscular.”
“Thick?” She spun away from me and ran for the beach blanket, grabbing her stuff and throwing it in her bag.
“I like that you’re not a stick,” I said, trying to fix this before I totally f@ked up the rest of our day. “If I wanted a model, I would go find one. But those women are all beauty and no brains.”
She sniffed and wiped at her face. “Well, I’m glad to know that I’m thick like a tree, I have a big ass, and apparently I don’t have beauty, but I have brains.”

The heroine: Claire Grant - A librarian by trade, she also works her Dad’s small farm on the side (with her sister) since her father has Alzheimer’s. She is a small woman and has no experience talking to men. She gets nervous and starts pouring out everything on her mind without any filter. When she meets Derek at the grocery store, her word vomit embarrasses her enough to turn around and exit the store.
The Hero(es): Derek Cornell (a.k.a. Irish) - He is the head of a team at Reed Security. His team consists of Hunter and Lola. He feels responsible for his team and thinks he missed something in the past when his gut was telling him things weren’t as they seemed and he wasn’t able to prevent what happened.
The Story: Derek and Claire met at the grocery store and he was instantly attracted to her and she to him. He saves her from being hit by a car and she starts to think about men with superpowers. Obviously she reads too many romance novels.
This was definitely the funniest book in the series so far. I absolutely loved Claire and all her quirkiness! Derek was also priceless in his reactions to her. He thinks she is gorgeous and adorable and sexy all put together in one hot little package. And Claire thinks Derek is Superman (sometimes literally) which makes for some fun inner dialogue. She has the wildest imagination that leads to some awesome scenes!

“Were all the men at Reed Security blessed with superpowers? Were they some kind of superhero coalition? First, Knight was shot and the bullet bounced right off him. Then Derek ran into a burning truck and came out completely unscathed. It just didn’t make any sense. Had I walked into some alternate universe?”

FFS! Someone just come take my readers card, beat me over the head with it, and shove my ass in the corner. It’s like every screwed up book in the universe begs me to read it and it berate it. Whatever~
This starts good. FMC ogling hot MMC in grocery store as she eats grapes. Her word vomit is initially quirky. She almost gets run over and thinks some superhero saved her. Okay, I’ll follow this down the rabbit hole.
After five minutes of a date-gone-wrong with MMC, she finds herself in a bank heist. She calls the MMC for him to come over guns blazing and save the day. He declines. She says, ah, no you’re coming, and I’ll even make a distraction.
^ Instead of quirky and awkward, she’s now TSTL.
Her idea of a distraction is to pretend to be a code breaker for the safety deposit box the bank robbers can’t get into.
^ She’s now a category five dumbass.
Let’s say I buy she actually guesses how to get it open. The MMC comes in and saves the day. Whoop-de-le-eyeroll.
When she goes back to the safety deposit box to show the MMC her mad skills, this batshit insane beech takes the key (hello crime scene and f’ing stealing)… and leaves with it.
^^ If stupid was water, she’d be the Abyss.
If you think he’s any brighter, don’t get your hopes up. Mr. ex-military turned security guy knows she took the key…
“Where are we going?” “Reed Security.” “Why?” “Because, we’re going to figure out why those men wanted the key that’s in your pocket.” I stared at him in surprise. “How did you..” He smirked at me. “I’m very observant.”
Anyway, the humor was swallowed up by so stupid that tree bark and a rutabaga’s baby would have a bigger brain.
The final straw is how the MMC talks to the FMC when he thinks she wants someone else…
“He’s not the man you’re thinking of at all. If he’s who you want, you’ll be sorely disappointed. He wouldn’t give you a second look.”
Instead of being offended, she goes on a ramble about how hot and sexy the MMC is. Wtf? Seriously?

My first read from Giulia Lagomarsino and I’m kicking myself for not discovering her sooner! Irish is a perfect mix of laugh out loud hilarity and sweet sexy romance. Truthfully, I was not expecting how much this book cracked me up. I’m talking full on make your sides hurt tears running down your face laughter here, not just an occasional giggle. This is one of those books you want to stop only long enough to go tell your friends to grab it and start reading it too, it’s that good.
Claire is my new favorite character. Quirky is putting it mildly, but the woman is hilarious and, honestly, says everything out loud that we’re all thinking anyway. Right from the first page I was thinking she was my people. On top of being hilariously adorable she was also incredibly sweet making her easy to love. Derrick had bada*$, sexy, alpha down to an art right from the start but even he had his moments of sticking his foot in it like Claire which just proves how two seemingly opposite people could be the perfect match.
Irish is flat out fun to read, keeping me laughing along with swooning from start to finish!

Holy. Freaking. Amazing. I started Irish planning to only read a chapter or two before bed. Next thing I knew, it was two thirty in the morning and I had finished the entire book. This book sucked me right on in. Irish is book five in the Reed Security series. It is a stand-alone and can be read without the others. This is the first book in the series that I read.
The plot of this book was genius. I feel like because I hadn’t read previous books, it really had me intrigued. I was questioning along with the main character about what was going on with the main male. I loved that about this book. I also loved how the two met and pretty much everything about their relationship. The mystery of the main plot was amazing as well.
Claire is my favorite character ever. She is so quirky that it is endearing. I seriously love her rambling and unique personality. She grew right onto me. Derek took a little bit longer. He had a tough exterior that I had to get through before I truly fell for him. His ability to say the wrong thing didn’t help his cause any, but in the end I liked him.
The chemistry between these two is awkward, but it works for these characters. I loved watching them get to know each other. Really, I just loved anything that included Claire. She is a hoot. The heat between these two was amazing. I also loved where some of these heated scenes went. Talk about hot! I loved this part of the book.
The writing style of this book was amazing. I could not believe how sucked into the book I got. I lost track of time and fought off my beauty rest because I could not stop turning the pages. The pace was steady. I liked all the minor characters. I will admit that I felt I was missing something by not reading the previous books, but not enough for it to really effect my enjoyment of the book.
Overall, I really liked this book. Okay, I loved it. I could not put it down. When I was done, I wanted to just jump in and start the previous books, that is how much I enjoyed this book. Needless to say, I would recommend this book to others. I cannot wait for Hunter’s book to come out next.

Giulia Lagomarsino is a new to me author, so I came fashionably late to the Reed Security party, and am irritated at myself for taking so long trying to fix my hair, as I'm in love with this author, and this series. First of all, this story had me laughing a TON, and I'm not talking like a little giggle here or there, nope, like spit out my drink, holding my stomach, and snorting like a pig because I couldn't catch my breath laughing throughout the whole story, laugh. It all starts out in a small town grocery store where the quirky Claire, spots the hottest guy she's ever seen, and sets up shop to stare at him while she eats produce. It ends up with her choking on a grape, him saving her, her word vomiting on him, me almost wetting myself from laughing, and she gets his phone number & a date for coffee. You would think that would be the end of that adventure right? You would be wrong, because she gets into more trouble in the parking lot, believes Superman saves her, but it's the guy from the grocery store, Derek, who rescues her again, although she knocks herself out, and ends up in the hospital. And these are the things that keep going on throughout the story for Claire, who is fabulous, with absolutely no filter. And Derek is her mouthwatering hot superhero, who keeps stepping in when she gets in messes, although their dating path has some bumps in the road because neither are very good in social situations. However, they have this amazing chemistry that simply shoots sparks in every direction. It finally ignites, and they light everything they come in contact with on fire during their very colorful sexy times, and things end up broken, so yeah, they are hilarious on top of being sexy as well. There is even some action packed moments with twists that had me laughing instead of dropping f-bombs, because Claire is so awesome, that she can make a shoot out hilarious. Added in all of this fun is an amazing cast of secondaries who are also hilarious, so my stomach & sides will need time to recover from all the laughter. I NEED more of the super talented Giulia Lagomarsino immediately, especially Reed Security, and HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I thoroughly enjoyed this one. It gave me the warm fuzzies which is odd for a RS book, though it was very lite on suspense.
Claire our heroine, is a very naive young woman, not very worldly. I knew I was going to enjoy this one when it opens with her being mesmerized by this incredibly hot guy fondling produce in the grocery store. It gets to the point where she and a few other women are watching him while she’s eating grapes and chokes on one and her object of admiration saves her. She sees him as a true hero and further things happen to the point where she starts believing that superheroes are a real thing. Did I mention she’s unbelievably innocent?
Derek or Irish as he is known by his teammates, while a hit with women, isn’t exactly a ladies man though he comes close. He was aware that a group of of women were quietly observing him and may have played up his veggie fondling, including cucumbers may have been a bit over the top.
See, adorable.
He’s completely captivated by Claire and insists she’s his, the alpha male coming through, though he refuses to admit he has “feelings” for her. His teammates who have found their forever partners are of course giving him a hard time.
There is so much I love about this book. At some point the action and suspense ramp up and though he’s against it because, hello, he’s alpha, still he includes her and respects her. I love how he respects her while still finding her hilarious. I was almost 3/4 finished the book when I realized I’d already “met” Derek in a previous book I read. Now I want to go back and read that one. I love how interconnected all her books are. Though they may be from completely different series, there is a thread that runs through them all that I find fascinating, kind of like Easter eggs.
I haven’t said too much about the storyline of the story. I liked it and it’s only part of the charm of this instalment of Guilia Lagomarsino’s books. You really need to try her. Even the one I only gave 1 star to, I’m glad I read it because these guys are family.

Giulia Lagomarsino is the amazing author behind this series. She's the bomb and you need to know her work.
Irish is the fifth book from the Reed Security series and tells the stories of Irish and Claire.
But there's this thing. In order to understand this book you need to read all previous books. Doing so you will understand this story better.
But if you have time read For The Love of a Good Woman series first and then start this one.
Irish had it all... A job at a security company, good looking, booze, woman but something is out of picture...
Claire is a librarian that enjoys the life each book gives her. She's super shy and bit awkward that screams trouble. Lol. One look at the stunning man in front of her and she needed to talk to him...
So freaking awesome. These two are quite the couple...
Fantastic plot, super funny, engaging and hot... I was reading it with a smile on my face the whole time...
There were parts of the book that I was laughing so hard that I had to stop reading... I was crying... Happy tears of course.
These two work perfectly for each other and the chemistry they share is intense.
Perfect storyline, with some hot stuff into his mix as well as some secrets and suspense.
During this book we had the chance to meet new characters that I can't wait to read more about. Also I can't wait to start reading the next book... I'm super curious.

I give "Irish" 3.5 stars. This is my first time to read a Giulia Lagomarsino and let me put it this way...my husband really liked me reading this book! The steamy scenes between Derek and Claire were intense. I liked Claire right away--she's all of us when it comes to trying to keep our thoughts together in front of a gorgeous man. I enjoyed Derek and the characters from Reed Security, although I will say I tired of references like "my woman", "his woman", etc. I understand they're supposed to be alpha males, but in my experience true alpha males treat their alpha females more respectfully. That said, I found "Irish" a quick and enjoyable read. Thanks, Giulia!

You read about how cold Derek is in the previous books and you really get to know him and his personality by diving into his mind and it is fascinating! I think I also fell for Hunter a bit more in this book as well, haha. But Claire is AMAZING! This zany lady is awkward as all get out but has nerves of steal and I was captivated with the story from the very beginning! Another great installment of the Reed Security series- 4.5 outta 5 stars from me!

WTH did I just read and how did it get such good reviews?!

The important part is this... I finally got some dang closure on book #1 regarding Sinners and Cara's potential wedding! Turns out, his "marry me someday" lollipop proposal was his only proposal and they eloped in Vegas. It only took me five books to get that closure. And only two of the books did I actually really enjoy so far (#1 and #4)! So yeah - ridiculous and garbage all around.
As for this book, the opening scene was entertaining. I enjoyed the easy camaraderie between the ladies at the grocery store as they were chewing on grapes and checking out Derek. It was a scene that you could easily picture. But after that, everything just kind of went downhill.
The author tries to give Claire a nervous, socially awkward, quirky adult with a diarrhea of the mouth. In reality she seems to be more of a space cadet with a one-track mind (library/books) who lives in fantasy / la la Land all the time with absolutely no clue as to what's going on around her. And it was just not working for me. At all!
There are so many parts of the story that just had me shaking my head and saying to myself, no! No! No! No! And definitely no! But there were a couple of funny parts and I'm feeling generous, so it gets two stars. Let's get on with spoilers and why this book was just a big fat no... From One scene to the next it just progressively got worse... Hopefully I can remember them all.
Example 1:
After meeting Derek at the grocery store She walks out to the parking lot into the path of a moving vehicle. While she is debating her options of which way to go and trying to predict which way the car will swerve, she ends up getting knocked to the ground out of harm's way by a man in sunglasses who came from "out of nowhere". However, she smacks her head on the ground and ends up in the hospital to be checked out as a result. At the hospital She decides that whoever it was, had to be Superman for real. Because nobody was around her. So she goes on thinking that Superman saved her. I only wish I was joking, but she legitimately thought he had superpowers. In the meantime, Derek was the one who came out and was calling her name to get her attention while she was in la la Land and was right behind her and was able to save her. Derek even told Claire's sister, Lucy, that he was the one who saved her. And he told Lucy to have Claire call him for coffee.
Example 2 and 2.5:
She goes to the bank shortly after a coffee date with Derek (that she stormed out of) and there's a long line. After being in there a few seconds, bank robbers come. She calls Derek because he works in security And tells him to come to the bank and get the bad guys and she will create a distraction. He tells her no and to not do anything because that's not how it works for him, and she proceeds to say no she's going to go do it. So she gets up to face these guys who are trying to crack into a safety deposit box. She says she's good with codes. So she studies the information she has on the account holder and cracks the code and opens the box. In the meantime though, Derek has to come rescue her ass and she hits him upside the head with the safety deposit box knocking him out. An old antique key was in the safety deposit box and she pocketed it. So that's the first half of this example, the .5 portion is that during this time, she sees Knight, from Derek's team take a bullet to the chest and not even have a bullet hole, and he totally survived. You know where this is heading. In her mind, he is Superman and clearly he must be the man who rescued her at the grocery store Because apparently Lucy didn't pass that other message along. 🤦🏼♀️
Example 3:
Derek knows she took the key and takes her back to read security headquarters. Sebastian takes the key from her because of course there is a connection to another brother in arms to them, Nathan Kent, who owns the lockbox. She sees Knight there and tells Derek that she knows his secret. For anyone else paying attention and reading the books, we know about Knight's past based upon the prior book. And that is what Derek assumes she knows. Because who would think that somebody thought the secret was that Knight had superpowers and was Superman? No one? Oh yeah, cuz we're not crazy people. So naturally Knight threatens her if she were to tell his secret And of course they have animosity until much later in the book when the Superman crap comes out.
Example 4:
Obviously Derek and Claire get together and hook up after he messes up big time and is a jerk to her. And she swears him off and says screw you, but takes him back of course. I'll admit he had a decent gravel. So while he is waking her up py pleasuring her, She's in that weird state of dreamland Just before waking up. So she's dreaming of some guys who previously came into her library asking about antique keys and an old book about keys. And this whole potential kidnapping scene where Derek comes to her rescue. In her dream, Derek becomes her knight in shining armor who can fly, because he's Superman. And the bad guys are going to tickle torture her and she mixed in some Harry Potter references as well. Because she's got her story all discombobulated in her dream state. Then she wakes up realizing what Derek is doing and then says she's not in the mood because of the crazy dream but she never shares the dream with him. But okay, whatever. Derek could already told her not to do anything regarding those guys when they came into the library, but of course she reached out to her library friends around the country and asked if anybody had the book. That bites her in the butt, because apparently they were tapping her phone or hacking her emails and found that somebody had the book. So then her dream becomes a reality only they weren't going to tickle torture her They were going to beat her. And Derek did come to the rescue, but he could not fly. And she was a crazy person. She lived in this rose colored world where everything was fine because Derek would save her. Then she quickly realized that the Derek and her dream was much cooler than the Derek of her reality. Because he's not freaking superman, you look!! oy! So Derek is working on getting them out of there and a lot of it plays out like her dream, and they go to the roof and then one of the guys drags her in through the window as she's trying to go down the fire escape and leave. Her first thought again was, "that's not how it went in the dream!" Because again, she lives in fantasyland. Ultimately Derek kicks their butt. They do destroy the library by pushing over all the bookshelves. Which one of them collapsed on top of Derek, but he was able to still crawl out. I'd really like to know how that worked out seen as it was a domino effect and that one bookcase would have had another 10 that were on top of it, but he was able to crawl out. Realistic much? No. But makes for an interesting read I suppose. They get out and jump into a lake. Which, I don't know many lakes that you can jump out of a second story window ledge that are close enough or deep enough to be able to jump into, but again, this is fantasyland for everybody now, and they're able to do that. And I don't know what security guy doesn't have his cell phone on him to contact his office and call for backup. So yes, we're looking at a lot of realism here. Continuing on in their trek, they seek shelter in the woods where Derek has to carry her because she's not stepping where he told her to step and she's too busy living in the fantasy of her dream to really comprehend the fact that she's about to get killed. It's a very realistic possibility. And instead she's like, "oh, it'll be okay. In my dream, he saves me." Total space cadet. Not paying attention to anything of her surroundings not paying attention to what is happening and the fact that she is in imminent danger of being shot and killed. That is not a socially awkward person that is a person who is completely out of touch with reality. So Derek has her climb into a tree to stay up there and not make a sound, as if that's possible with her. And during all this as he's watching her climb the tree, he's checking out her ass and getting a hard-on. Really? During all that? Okay, if you say so. In the meantime, he goes back in the woods and finds they have 10 people after them. He has lost his gun to the bookcase fiasco but still had his knife so he takes out 10 people one by one. From the tree she sees him take out these guys (not sure how in the woods when he took her so far in and doubled back) and gets down to get a closer look and truly believes he is Superman. It's neverending. They continue through the woods to Ryan's house to get ahold of Sebastian. Because again, he apparently doesn't have his phone on him. They mention he lost his gun in the rubble, but nothing about his phone. He should have been calling for backup when he was pulling her to the side in the library, but that would have made sense. And where was her phone? I don't get it. Anyway, I digress. Back to more ridiculous examples.
Example 5:
Claire ends up point blank asking Derek if he has super powers. She tells him she wants the truth because she already knows it and she's trying to lead him into admitting it without asking him, but it doesn't work, because he's not effing crazy and he has no clue as to where she's trying to lead him, so she asks him point blank. He laughs. That's a legit response and I totally felt that as well. She's offended. She tells him about the research she did online of people with super abilities and that she believes his entire team has super abilities based on what she's seen with him and with Knight getting shot. Naturally Derek is able to explain what she was seeing and that she lives in her own little bubble because he was calling her name and was right behind her after the grocery store. And it was because of his training he was able to take down all the guys. She's still questions that. I read these books from Kindle unlimited, so it's been on my phone or my actual Kindle. Both of which I have wanted to throw while reading this book! She's so out of touch with reality. I just can't. Have I mentioned that yet? Oh my goodness.
Example 6:
As with all the guys in this series so far, Derek is very possessive of Claire. We'll get to that in a second. But after their chat and realizing he's not Superman, and realizing that he will do anything for her, she goes and gets a Superman outfit with tight tights and a cape and the whole shebang. And he actually puts it on for her!! just, no. Then he has her put on some lingerie as her costume and he decides to tie her to a chair so he can rescue her as Superman. First he needs, "just a taste," so as he is going to town on her, incomes a couple of the teams through his front door and he stands up to block her a bit and ask what the heck they're doing. Poker night apparently. They planned it earlier that day. He tells them it's canceled and to buzz off. And then moves towards them and away from Claire to get rid of them. In the meantime he has completely exposed her so they can see everything and she tries to close her legs, but they're tied to the chair, so she can't! I don't know of any alpha male who wants another man to be looking at his woman. So, again, just no. That whole scene was absolutely absurd! And then he turns around and he's even more turned on because his friends think his woman is hot but they can't have her? What? That is not any alpha male I have ever read about and it's not one that I want to read about again.
Example 7:
So Derek and his team track down the bad guys to Washington DC and they take Claire because she can get them into the Library of Congress to the book that the bad guys wanted so they can see what's going on. They end up stealing the book and the bad guy is there waiting for them and thanking them for getting him into the secret squirrely section of the Library of Congress. The security guards are apparently on his payroll, but they couldn't get him into that room. So they knock him out of bed and get to running and Claire again goes into la la Land while running from somebody shooting at them and can't believe she stole a book from the Library of Congress. Then she holds up the book when the guy shoots at her and the bullet hits the book and puts a big old hole in the book. So she starts to go after him, a bad guy with a gun, to lecture him about not respecting books! Oh my! Somebody, please stop this madness. I can't take much more. Then after all that happens, she talks to the cops and they have her wait a while and of course she's nervous because she stole the book. The detective asks if he can get her anything and she squeals like a pig after Derek told her to keep her mouth shut and give minimum answers and he'll get an attorney. 🤦🏼♀️
Example 8:
They end up back at Reed security again and screw in his office. A couple of the guys come in, not even as many that were at the poker game that was canceled, but a couple come in afterwards and they're all talking about getting a new lead. This actually might have happened before example #7 now that I think about it, but I'm not switching them. So he had them covered with a blanket while the guys were talking and telling them to get dressed and get to the conference room. He covered her and was possessive about nobody else seeing his woman. I'm sorry, where was that during the poker fiasco where you left her completely exposed to even more men on his team?! Can you have some kind of consistency?
Example 9:
And in the end, Derek decided to go to the weird side and dressed up as Batman and slid down a rope to greet Claire at the library for a "night of fun". A good man with a brain, lost it because of her. Sigh.

So yeah, it was really hard to get on board with these characters.
The good points...
I'd like to say there were many, but there really weren't... Just a handful of moments that made me fell generous with a 2 star review.
1. The grocery store scene was really entertaining because I could totally picture them popping grapes and oogling Derek.
2. The lucid moments that Claire and Derek each had with her father were also very sweet. He wasn't brought up before in my review, but he has Alzheimer's and he comes and goes with the time.
3. The scene with the brothers and meeting them was fun. Listening to all the stories that they had about Derek was quite entertaining as well. Though, the whole situation with Lucy was a bit over the top, though I did not put it in the examples above because the story is not about her. And actually, Derek should have told his brothers to back off Lucy. Not tried to have Lucy stay away. So that could actually be another example for above to go along with the "no" category. Sigh.
4. The supporting characters. I do like the crew overall and I like how they interact with each other.
Yep, that's it. So not really a true handful. Unless you count just the fingers.
So far, I would not recommend this series, but I also feel like I'm invested in the characters so I want to see what happens with them, and actually I'm quite interested in Hunter and even Lola's story. I have a feeling I will be disappointed, based on prior history of the series... Book stars are as follows 5, 4, 3, 5, 2... I can't say it's a good series overall based on these numbers. So hopefully all the rest of the books will be five stars. 🤣 Wishful thinking.

This book kind of struck me as romantic suspense, so imagine my surprise when I caught myself laughing quite a bit throughout this book.
Claire – oh Claire. She’s such a dork. But the cutest dork. She’s socially awkward, spews word vomit when in social situations. So imagine her surprise when she’s at the grocery store and sees the most beautiful man she’s ever laid eyes on.
Derek works for Reed Security – a security firm – and knows that Claire is checking him out. He’s eating it up. She finally works up the courage to talk to him, and ends up choking on a grape, and he ends up saving her. She then leaves the grocery store and nearly gets hits by a car, and is saved again, but this time, she thinks she is saved by Superman.
Turns out is was Derek. Derek asks her out on a date – which is destroys with his social awkwardness (they are both a little socially awkward, and it’s adorable). He then has to grovel to Claire. Claire is dealing with her own issues – her father has dementia, she’s running their family farm on her own and she’s also the town librarian. She loves to read – so much so, she gets completely lost in her books, and her imagination runs totally wild. I actually loved this about Claire – I’ve been there. It is totally realistic.
This was the fifth book in a series, and I haven’t read the first four. The only issue is there are nicknames for each of the guys, and it was seriously hard to keep up with those. I loved the other guys, and man, did I love Derek. He was so adorkable, yet totally masculine. He instantly became protective of Claire – who was also adorkable. These two together were great. They offset each other perfectly.
I didn’t read the first five books in the series, but I absolutely want to read Hunter’s book,which I believe would be next.
There was drama, comedy and romance wrapped into one book. I loved both of these main characters and would recommend this book.

Claire – oh Claire. She’s such a dork. But the cutest dork. She’s socially awkward, spews word vomit when in social situations. So imagine her surprise when she’s at the grocery store and sees the most beautiful man she’s ever laid eyes on.
Derek works for Reed Security – a security firm – and knows that Claire is checking him out. He’s eating it up. She finally works up the courage to talk to him, and ends up choking on a grape, and he ends up saving her. She then leaves the grocery store and nearly gets hits by a car, and is saved again, but this time, she thinks she is saved by Superman.
Turns out is was Derek. Derek asks her out on a date – which is destroys with his social awkwardness (they are both a little socially awkward, and it’s adorable). He then has to grovel to Claire. Claire is dealing with her own issues – her father has dementia, she’s running their family farm on her own and she’s also the town librarian. She loves to read – so much so, she gets completely lost in her books, and her imagination runs totally wild. I actually loved this about Claire – I’ve been there. It is totally realistic.
This was the fifth book in a series, and I haven’t read the first four. The only issue is there are nicknames for each of the guys, and it was seriously hard to keep up with those. I loved the other guys, and man, did I love Derek. He was so adorkable, yet totally masculine. He instantly became protective of Claire – who was also adorkable. These two together were great. They offset each other perfectly.
I didn’t read the first five books in the series, but I absolutely want to read Hunter’s book,which I believe would be next.
There was drama, comedy and romance wrapped into one book. I loved both of these main characters and would recommend this book.

Irish is the 5th book in the Reed Security series. It was my introduction to the series, and I followed along seamlessly. I’m now intrigued about the prior books, and can’t wait to check them out.
Irish was a fun story, with a good balance of laughs and drama. I was drawn in by Claire, and eventually Derek. He was a bit brash and thoughtless, it was satisfying to see him fall for Claire. She’s an honest woman and a bit awkward. Their story was interesting and kept me hooked. I loved the side characters and already can’t wait to learn more about them.

What I love is that you never know what you are going to get when read on of this authors books Opinionated, foot in mouth no filter, no holds barred, divine sarcasm, lots of hilarity is what we get with her characters. I am never disappointed and this one is just brilliant. I love that we get to have the adventure or misadventure, a HEA or not. I have not laughed so much in a long time. Grab a drink or three and settle in for one of the best read of your life.

Book 5 - Irish - Reed Security Series
This is the fifth book in the Reed Security Series and OMG! This book is absolutely hilarious! I loved every moment of this book it was just a great story. At first I was apprehensive as Derek "Irish" Cortell appeared to be quite a grumpy/stiff character in the previous books but seeing this side of him was a pure delight and he is actually a very human and likeable character. Claire Grant bless her is everything, her lack of filter, her imagination, her beautiful curves, everything about her was pure brilliance. She really is the perfect match for Irish. The opening scene in the supermarket was laugh out loud comedy gold. It really had me howling with laughter that continued throughout the rest of the book. There were emotional moments also as our sexy librarian has some insecurities about herself and Irish well he was himself so that didn't go to plan at first for him. There is the fact that along with her sister Lucy they care for their dad so that is really impactful. But when Claire finds herself in several terrifying situations, including running from an armed group of men who are after a book, its up to her superhero boyfriend Derek to save the day and he does it oh so very well. Superman never looked so good! Sinner and Cazzo were great to see as well with their advice to the next love bug bitten brother. Sinner is just hilarious too. Pappy and Lola were also featured more so I am looking forward to reading more about them in the future. Pappy has a hell of a job on his hands trying to claim Lucy once he realises that his once planned life of a terminal bachelor went up in smoke. Also Derek's brothers were featured, they all look fun. I hope they get a story which in turn gives us more Derek and Claire as an added bonus! I have since learned that The Cortell Brothers do indeed have their own spin off series available. Overall this is a truly engaging, emotional, completely hilarious, high heat, swoonworthy action packed read. A complete triumph that I cannot recommend highly enough! Five stars doesn't seem enough, I would give more if I could. I really loved it. Please read the books of this series in order to fully appreciate the brilliance that is The Reed Security Series. Happy Reading.

You know that a book is going to be good when you have a smile on you face from the first page. This book starts with socially awkward Claire ogling the sexy man she has seen in the produce section of a store unknown to her, he’s seen her and starts putting on a little show. When they finally start talking it isn’t smooth sailing, Claire’s bad social skills and nerves make for one disastrous first impression and continue to cause mishaps throughout the book. This all makes her come across as quirky and I’m an absolute fool for a hero who finds this cute and endearing.
The chemistry between these two is clear from the beginning and gets serious quickly. Derek falls hard for Claire and already knows before things go much further that she is the one. The chemistry builds to reveal a sexual chemistry that is hot from the start and gets better as the book progresses. They make for a great couple who make each other happy and feel accepted for who they are. In one another they have found someone who they can share a close intimacy with that provides support through tough situations and a person who will love every part of them. They also have this fun and playful side that allows them to make fun of each other in a teasing and loving way.
They have some truly great moments in the book that stand out and come from Claire’s overactive imagination but I loved how Derek just found it cute and went with it. Claire’s love of books creates some other funny scenes and dialogue between the two and Claire’s devotion to books and any library creates my favourite scene. When Derek asks if she wants books or a boyfriend when she cares more about books being damaged than them being in danger and then beats someone up for shooting a book, I lost it. It was hilarious and I connected with Claire so much and fellow bookworms will understand when they read this.
Derek and Claire make for a fantastic addition to the series as they were both fun characters. I liked their individual personalities but together they were electric. Some of the events later in the book set up the next one so well and I can’t wait to start it.

Claire Grant seems to be checking out more than produce at the grocery store. She doesn’t seem to be oblivious of what others see. Derek “Irish” Cortell was in the right place at the right time. He seems too good to be true and seems to fit the role of fantasy pretty well. It’s very easy to get lost here and not come up for air until you begin to wonder where the time went.
The author takes a truly romantically heated moment and turns it around. It fit very well into the scene where they’re having a conversation. She makes it very easy for me to chuckle. She’s created some secondary characters that left me wanting to get to know them better. One such character was Lola. She’s a woman with a lot of strength but she also lets us see her pain. I also got the chance to meet Maggie and that reminded me that I haven’t read her story yet. Cap is the second book in the Reed Security Series but it’s not really needed to enjoy this book but it is needed for me to catch up on the books I’ve missed. And a reminder to kick myself that it took me so long to find this series.
There’s a point in the story where Ms. Lagomarsino should be wrapping things up yet she still takes the time to get me to laugh. In the next second she turns the scene serious. This all pulls me further into the story and not looking forward to the point where it will come to an end. But if you think about it, if she doesn’t pull me to an ending than how will I get myself ready for the next book that will be coming out. And I would have missed out on the perfect ending.

We thoroughly enjoyed this entertaining story filled with laugh-out-loud moments. Claire, an awkward and klutzy character with a love for superheroes, added a unique charm to the plot. The story had a good mix of steamy moments, action, suspense, and a lingering mystery to solve.
Claire and Derek are complete opposites, make a cute couple. Claire's quirky nature and wild imagination, likely stemming from her love of books as a librarian, instantly captured our hearts.
Claire's belief in Derek and his team of superheroes and knights always brought a smile to our faces. She had a vivid imagination and loved to talk about various topics, showcasing her clever side despite lacking confidence. She made up for it in other ways, especially when it came to spicing up her and Derek's love life.
Derek, also known as Irish, was the perfect match for Claire. Their courtship was a delightful mess that added humor to their relationship, but their undeniable chemistry kept them connected. Derek embraced Claire's obsession with superheroes, even incorporating it into their intimate moments.

As it turns out Claire finds herself being rescued by Derek on several more occasions, he becomes her very own superhero as their blossoming relationship develops.
Derek’s a confident man, he’s never had any problems with the ladies before but when it comes to Claire it’s like he’s always putting his foot in his mouth, it doesn’t help that Claire has some confidence issues but in the end after a few bumps in the road the pair get it together, finally getting the HEA they both deserve.
This was another brilliantly written instalment towards the Reed Security series, filled with lots of humour from both the main and secondary characters which I guarantee will having you laughing out loud. I greatly enjoyed this addition to the Reed Security series. After the searing intensity of KNIGHT, IRISH is a much more light hearted & humorous entry. While (IRISH) Derek, is as proficient as his fellow *Reeders*, his potential 'one' Claire, is skirting around the edges of being a walking talking disaster magnet. She's uber klutzy which poses a danger to those in her immediate vicinity, has no verbal filter when talking, loves animals & considers damage to books a capital offense. I loved her character!
And IRISH, smooth as he is, isn't sure just what to do when it comes to Claire. He is his own disaster during several interactions with her, & man, he should NOT count on the *Reeders* to provide any advice that is actually helpful with any potential relationship he is trying to decide he may (or may not) want with Claire.
Claire has her own issues & stresses: her family & finances, as well as Knight who scares the pants off of her & he makes sure he does.
We get a few welcome pop-ups from several of the other *Reeders*, & quite a few peeks into some angst Pappy (Hunter) is going through :0(

After helping Claire, as Derek is going to leave, she knows he’s going to kiss her, she tries to talk him out of it, but she melts and then he leaves, leaving her confused.
Realising that he’s off his game because of Claire and his team mates know, they all want to hear about the girl that has his off his game. Derek lets them know he kissed her, and it blew him off his feet, the advice they give him leave him nothing but more confused.
It doesn’t help Derek when he lets the boys know how he screws up they agree and are amused as well and tell him to beg, on his hands and knees. While Claire, with the help of her sister Lucy, decides she needs to know how to practice on how-to pick-up men. Claire also learns that men have a strange language between them and she needs to study it more.
With Derek not used to dating and always saying the wrong things, then having to fix it and Claire being social awkward they keep you entertained, but their chemistry is there, and you know they will make it through.

There's just something about the sexy protective hunks of Reed Security in all their hotness and massive skills in and out of bed. This is another wonderfully written story with an exciting plot, terrific characters and lots of sexiness. Claire in all her ineptness finds an interesting and slightly dangerous way to gain Irish's attention during their first meeting. She is a great character! So different from the usually put-together beauties that are so prevalent in stories. Irish is one of the best of the hunks in the Reed family. Tough, strong, bada$$. But Claire is a different kind of woman and it throws him off kilter. There are so many hilarious moments in this story. They finally find their groove and it's magic. In addition to the humor there's also some action and drama that has Irish along with the Reed folks have to put all their skills to work. This terrific story is a good mix of humor, mystery, romance and sexiness. The best of romance suspense! I voluntarily reviewed an ARC. 4.5 stars

This is Claire and Derek’s story. Claire asks Derek out at a store but after that she is injured. She believes that him and his team are all superhero’s after she sees them moving quickly and not being injured. He likes her even with all her quirks. When danger comes calling can he get to stay out of it, or will she end up in the middle of it no matter what? She has an issue with her mouth talking when she should be quiet, but will that help or harm her in the end? The closer danger comes the more scared she becomes. Can Derek save her and get her to fall for him all at once?
I felt I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read. Very emotional story that will have several triggers for some. But all and all it was a great story.
I highly recommend this book.

When danger comes calling can he get to stay out of it, or will she end up in the middle of it no matter what? She has an issue with her mouth talking when she should be quiet, but will that help or harm her in the end? The closer danger comes the more scared she becomes. Can Derek save her and get her to fall for him all at once?
I felt I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read. Very emotional story that will have several triggers for some. But all and all it was a great story.
I highly recommend this book.

The fifth book in the Reed Security Series is a bit of a change from the previous book as it brings the humor. It is Derek, aka Irish, and Claire’s story. Claire is that woman who has no filter and is a super klutz. She is a danger to those around her but she is the kind of character that you just cannot help but fall for. Irish runs into Claire when she inadvertently chokes on a grape and he has to use the Heimlich maneuver to dislodge the offending fruit. It is from this encounter that their relationship grows but it is not without its faux pas as each one has his/her own issues to deal with. This is one well written storyline that brings the laughs that you do not want to miss. It can be read as a standalone but I recommend reading the books in order to understand the dynamics at play, especially with Knight. : - ) I highly recommend this book. I volunteered to read a copy of this book.

This has got to be one of the funniest, romance books I think I have ever read. Derek is a total badass hottie who 'meets' Claire after she stalks him in the supermarket. Claire is fantastic, she's a total book worm who believes in super hero's and just lives her life through her books, luckily she works in a library....
The whole story is brilliantly written and even in the serious scenes there's still a bit of hummer with Claire and her imagination. Derek being the moody ex army security man is totally drawn to Claire mad ways and the both of them are brilliant together. There is also the appearance from the older characters from previous Reed Security books, plus there's others that will appear in future books. This is a must read, it will make you belly laugh all the way through....

I love the different tropes in this series! This story focuses on Derek, team leader at Reed Security, and Claire, town librarian & part time farmer. The meet cute if these two is a hilarious scene in the grocery store. Accident prone Claire provides several comic moments, while Derek slowly becomes enamoured of this shy, not confident woman. Claire lives in her imagination a lot of the time, and her thoughts about the Reed Security crew are a bit far fetched but real to her. Of course, there are some great action scenes as a mystery needs solving. Claire is a hero in crisis situations but also at home, where she & her sister Lucy look after their dementing father & his farm. This story had it all—action, suspense, and steamy times—with a great cast of family, friends, and coworkers.

I give "Irish" 3.5 stars. I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review. This is my first time to read a Giulia Lagomarsino and let me put it this way...my husband really liked me reading this book! The steamy scenes between Derek and Claire were intense. I liked Claire right away--she's all of us when it comes to trying to keep our thoughts together in front of a gorgeous man. I enjoyed Derek and the characters from Reed Security, although I will say I tired of references like "my woman", "his woman", etc. I understand they're supposed to be alpha males, but in my experience true alpha males treat their alpha females more respectfully. That said, I found "Irish" a quick and enjoyable read. Thanks, Giulia!
