The Way Home

Rate this book
"I have a tale to tell. A tale of a girl who once was, and the journey she took to find her way back home. There was only one problem... she had destroyed her home. Stories of restored marriages are usually told from the pen of the conquering hero. But this time is different. This story is being told from the heart of the villain. The story you are about to read is true, for I was that villain. I was the one who left home and had to try and find my way back." What if right now your life could change forever? This possibility is not as far fetched as you might think. I want to tell you a story – my story – and how in one moment everything in my life changed. I want to give you a front row seat to my journey of veering away from God’s plan, going on my own path, and how I recalibrate and found my way back home. Some of you may be faced with the same decision right His way or mine. His plan or mine. I want to share with you my experience of what lies ahead and how you can have the life you’ve imagined. Some others might be in the greatest fight you’ve ever faced. You are praying and believing for a prodigal to come home but many tell you to accept things the way they are, that there is nothing you can do to change it. I’m here to tell you otherwise. Will your prodigal come home? Only God has that answer. But can they? Can He really reach your loved one who has become a different person right in front of your very eyes? Can He actually change and transform them after everything they have done, after all the lines they have crossed, after they have said and done things you never dreamed they would do? Absolutely.

A wonderful story of a prodigal daughter coming home. For anyone facing marital problems, this is a good read. The author gives a lot of lessons that she has learned. Her husband has a heart of mercy. She is very blessed with people who love her and did not give up on her.

One of the best marriage restoration books I have read

This author in her humility and honesty really reveals the heart of God. As a stander there we’re things that she said that broke the yoke of sin and shame off my life in areas that I did not even realize were there. This the first book I read by a prodigal where the prodigal took 100% responsibility for the hurt she caused without blaming the devil. She took responsibility yet showed how subtly the enemy can come in when you are driven away by your own selfish ambitions. A great book and I highly recommend it. To this author and her family may God continue to keep you and abundantly bless you all.

Inspirational read!

I really appreciate this book at this time, in my walk, as I have been struggling with my faith. I read her mother's book about her return to God and Casey. It has been a blessing to read this book by Lindsey and know she offers no excuses or sugars coats any thing! We are all guilty of sin and it is much easier to blame it on someone else or make excuses. This book will be for anyone! Those who struggle with like sins can see redemption! Those who feel they have lost love ones to sin can see hope! Those who feel shame because of sin can see a strong and wonderful example of a Godly woman! God bless her, Casey and her family!

A MUST read for prodigal daughters and their mothers

This book has helped me, the mother of a prodigal daughter, to understand my daughter's frame of mind and the psychology of her decisions and choices in turning her back on Christ, her faith, family, and friends. I appreciated the author's raw honesty, biblical instruction, and Godly insight. Though the circumstances regarding my daughter's separation differ, the insight offered has given me hope and peace for her return and restoration.

Great Read and Transparency!

I like that the author was open and honest about her journey. I agree that obedience is the most difficult tasks to experience, but I disagree that God cannot restore a marriage after a non-covenant marriage (second marriage). I have read about many prodigals coming out of non-covenant marriage and being restored to their first marriage, but the key was waiting on God. I appreciate her story and pray they God continues to use her and bless her and her family.

Very good read

I had heard Lindsey’s testimony a couple of times, and every time I hear it I am in awe of what God has done. Having courage to admit our own sins is one of the hardest roads to walk. It takes a lot of humility to admit what sins we have committed and take the blame for our actions and decisions. I commend Lindsey for putting her life out there for everyone to see/read, what an amazing testimony.

A freeing truth

My brother recommended this book to me years ago, but it must not have been time for me to read it then. Sharing your very personal journey with all the transparency you did is something our world needs more of. I will recommend this book to anyone even if they're stable in their relationship as a cautionary tale of what to do and not to do. God bless you for your candor, this certainly gives me hope for the future!

A tearful ride!

Loved it! Lindsey takes you on a journey, albeit a dark one, and along the way youll be wishing she will see the errors of her ways and go home(and even though I knew thats how it would end I was still in tears when she did).

It's a powerful story of redemption with deeply impactful words of wisdom from a woman who has experienced losing it all but gaining it all back through the grace of God.

Fantastic! I appreciate the Transparency

One of my favorite books. I needed to read this book for encouragement. I have a lost child who has hurt me in ways similar to this book. It is so nice to hear the perspective from the prodigal. I can’t thank you enough for your pure honesty and humble heart. You have helped me in ways that only God could understand. So, thank you for your obedience in writing this book. I have more hope. Blessings.

An encouraging story!

Lindsay tells her story with total openness, holding nothing back. It's a great look into the life of a prodigal and how they think, feel, and see things. Her transparency and honesty can help those of us who are praying for our prodigal to come home to not lose hope.

Wow

I recommend this book to anyone looking for truth. Lindsey is boldly stepping into her calling by breaking down her own life and serving it up as an example. I loved the miracle God did here in her last few but I love more the ministry she now has for those of us who have made bad choices and damaged our futures with God. Must read.

It’s never too late to come back

We are all sinners who can choose the way of the cross. Though we can’t avoid the consequences sin brings, His grace is sufficient to see us through the restoration process after we truly repent.

Raw and honest reflection of the choices made and trh sorry of full restoration that took place. God's goodness in the pigpen places of our life, so encouraging. I appreciate the truth and the desire to point back to Jesus even when it was/is difficult and risky.

Redemption

Good insight into the mind of a prodigal. After reading her mother's side of the story, it is interesting to read another perspective.

Gut reaching account of deception and prevailing love. More than worth the time it takes to read it. Questioning? Needing forgiveness or to forgive someone? A must read.

Excellent telling of the story

I had already read her mom’s book. It was interesting to hear it from Lindsey’s perspective. Very inspirational. I am praying for a prodigal son.

😭❤️
I knew how this story ended, but it still had me racing to see how exactly it played out. The tears though! Made it hard for me to continue 😅.
Beautiful story and beautifully written.
I like... kinda wanted more, but the way the book ends really covers the restoration. Oh but to know what was going through Casey’s head when he got that email and the gifts. After what little I’ve heard him speak on, I can only imagine 😢😊.
Brave Lindsey! If this was my story, I couldn’t imagine putting it out there for all to see. 👏🏼
When covering the beatitudes 😮 I never really saw them that way. (The first few.) Thank you!

However the publishing (I don’t know if it’s all books) with how the paragraphs line up on the pages, was a bit distracting at times. The story made up for it though! And the editing was lacking in spots too, but that won’t affect my rating ☺️.

Wow!

So transparent in every step of her journey. We’ve heard many sermons preached ABOUT the prodigal but never from the account of the PRODIGAL. God bless you and your family. This book has truly touched my life.
