Once upon a time, I had a very normal life. It wasn’t perfect, but it was mine. I often wonder what happened to that girl with that amazing life, to the friends and family who loved and adored her.
I’m not that same girl anymore.
For years, I’ve been the plaything to this creature, this monster, whose sole purpose was to belittle me into the submissive little pet he truly desired. I’m supposed to call him Master, but I refused to give him that satisfaction.
Every day, my life is the same. I am a toy, an object to be humiliated, hurt, and used in anyway that he deemed fit.
That is, until one night changes everything. The fighter inside me came alive, but so did something else. That night my savior entered my life when I least expected it.
But what is freedom when you don’t know your own reality, when everything you thought you knew changed?
Wow I was blown away by this book! At first I thought it was going to be a kidnapping book, but then vampires were thrown in AND THEN WEREWOLVES WERE ADDED?! I havent read a fantasy book in so long and I really enjoyed this! Cant wait to read the next book!
I've read a lot of books by debut authors, and none of them can compare to what Brynn has done in Twin Flame. She brings a whole new level of dark and twisted to a slow burn reverse harem story that I'm DYING for her to finish. I won't spoil anything, which is exactly why my review is so short and sweet. All I can say is....I want more Oksana, and I want more soon!
HOLY COW! Ok so I went into this book with no expectations and I completely forgot what the blurb was about other than it was paranormal. With that said, I'M SO IN LOVE! I cannot wait for book number two, it can't get here fast enough!!!
There are so many details that lead up the final event in this book, and they are so amazingly executed. Now, I don't fully know why we have all of the details we do, but I can't wait to figure out why. This book is such a little piece of such a bigger story. There is this insane build up and you know something is going to happen, but what?
I love Oksana in this, she's such a strong woman! From the time we met her I know there was something more to her, but I couldn't figure out what. I know that her and Hadley have a really special relationship, and I'm so curious to see where it leads us. With the additions of Archer, Elliot, and Wyatt the story became so much more! Each event that lead the next had me begging to know what was going to happen next. And man I can't wait to find out what happens in the next book!!!
This story had a WOW factor that I did not expect. We have all read the vampire stories with the main vampire character being the tortured lost soul that just wants to redeem themselves, well not in this book! Twin Flame is dark and definitely twisted and the best part is the very end that has a cliffhanger that leaves you hanging by your fingertips. Hopefully we won’t have to wait too long for book two Kindred Soul (Otherworld). Twin Flame is a 5-star read.
Oksana is two weeks away from graduating. The night of prom is also her birthday and she can’t wait! With her best friend Hadley beside her Oksana thinks this is going to be the best night ever, but when Hadley tells her she has a bad feeling and to stay close Oksana knows to listen. So how does a wonderful night turn into years of torture and abuse at the hands of a deranged vampire? Oksana refuses to break, the one thing Monster wants her to do. Oksana knows eventually she will get out she just has to wait for the perfect time and the time is coming.
It was a quick read, the story moves fast after the first chapters, and even though I’m not really sure if I like Oksana, I’m curious about where this is going. This book was dark, so much more than I thought, and I like the surprise.
I need more!! Brynn did a fabulous job with her debut release! Twin Flame takes dark and twisted to another level and I cannot wait to get my hands on more!!
Title: Twin Flame Author: Brynn Burke Published: Knox Publishing **RECEIVED ARC FOR HONEST REVIEW** This is my first book by this author and I have to say, at first i wasn't impressed. I love paranormal romance/erotica. The premise seemed as if this will be a great start to a new series. And, as I said, by the end i feel this will be a very interesting series.
You know typically how by the end of a book you pretty much know who, what, when, where, and why so book 2 is kind of pointless? Can't say that is how this book ends. See, at first the story starts off like a typical contemporary young adult/coming of age story and then wham fast forward a few years and suddenly we are in the thick of the paranormal world. Each main character has lots of flash backs and I understand this is character and world building. It is necessary but I feel it was done too much. So much so it detracts from the current storyline. It is difficult to explain without giving away any spoilers.
Also, since these characters spend more time in flashbacks their emotions during the present are off. It's like having to switch back and forth. Even for Oksana. One minute slave, next not.
Still as a first in a new series I think it's great. Maybe too many "main" characters introduced if you understand. Or you will by the end. Reverse Harem maybe? Not sure yet. Like I said, things are still a toss up. This is emotionally charged and darkly erotic. I do look forward to book 2. Over all to start off I give it a 3.75 so a 4/5 stars
Oksana is excited for Prom and is surprised to be attending it with her best friend Hadley Brookes and football captain Charles Bettington. Yet nothing prepares her for what happens after.
For years Oksana has been held captive but then she meets a man who makes her feel things she has never felt before.
Will she ever escape?
I liked this book but I found that I struggled a little with the dialogue and the time frame and a few things left me asking questions.
I liked Oksana and she seemed to have a great family life and a tight friendship with her best friend Hadley. Yet we never knew if her family looked for her after she was taken and my main question was around Hadley and how she "saw" what happened with Charles but then we never know if she saw anything that happened after that.
I hated what happened to Oksana when she was help captive and I was excited when Wyatt showed up.
I liked the way the book ended and I do want to see where the book is headed but I hope to get answers to my questions!
WOW just WOW!! Someone pinch me please, this cannot be Brynn Burke’s debut book!! I’m absolutely floored!!
Oksana is your typical senior in high school. She gets good grades and has one friend, typical right?? No. Her and her best friend, Hadley, decided to go to there senior prom as each other’s dates until Hadley gets asked. Once there Hadley has a bad feeling and tells Oksana to stay close to her but of course she doesn’t listen.
Wyatt and Elliot are identical twins and have been around for a very, very long time. Being shifters and identical twins they can channel each other from a distance to communicate. When Wyatt goes to a human auction he locks eyes with Oksana and is drawn to her almost instantly and out bids everyone for her.
Wyatt knows she is different from all the other slaves (as her “Master” calls them) but doesn’t know why. Once he figures her out Wyatt is determined to get her out of the situation she’s in.
This is the gritty and dark side of the supernatural world where life is torture literally if your human, Oskana was a bright eyed happy teenager looking forward to graduating and Prom but all that changes in one night, next thing a monster is trying to break her so she will be a good little rabbit for him. This is an absolute page turner and its well in a bit brutal at times but its needed and what I would expect this dark side of life to be like, we start to get to know everyone and find out who you like and who you would like to stake in the heart. I was gutted to get to the end of the book and eagerly await the next one!!
The plot is five blazing stars The characters are dark and twisted - a depravity that you can't turn awry from A strong heroine that develops into a fierce to be reckoned with 😱 The opening was detailed bringing me in and forming a decent bond with the characters - then the next thing I know i am in an alternate story - the perspective shifting from first to second to third person POV , in the She scene ???- incorrect word use like tombs for tomes? Wrong verb tense 😟 Despite this I could not put the story down - normally this would have been a dnf - I truly hope this is revised and edited
Awesome Job Brynn Burke on your debut book Twin Flame. When I started reading this book I didn't know what to expect, but you TOTALLY ROCKED me with this new series. It has so many dark twisted turns in it and I LOVED IT!!! I'm so FREAKING ready for the next book.....
I love finding new to me authors and I have found a gem! This book just had that extra something. Oksana is captured on Prom night and her birthday, of all nights, by a very disturbed vampire. She is held and suffers years of abuse. But she doesn’t break and is biding her time for the perfect escape, will she be successful? I can’t wait to see what happens next for Oksana!
this book was really different! i loved it though. she has had friends for years was a care free person. until one day everything was taken from her. now years of abuse she has had enough. so she plans her escape. you have to read to find out what happens.
Twin Flame is dark and freaking EPIC! I'm very picky when it comes to PNR and this one totally intrigued me. It takes you from a happy story, to WTF, TO WHAT NOOOO I NEED MORE!!!! YUP TOTALLY WORTH IT! Can't wait for book 2 and all its angst!
This was my first time reading a paranormal romance and I was not disappointed. This book had me hooked from the first chapter. It held my attention so much that it was hard to put it down! I can't wait for book two!!
Wow I want more.. this book will have hooked. I wanted to throw my phone on the last page.. like no I need more.. why did you stop their. I need the next book so bad. This book will consume you and have you hooked on every word..this is a must read..
I liked it, but I'm a little confused. It went from a teen kind of YA book to straight up dark paranormal slave smut. It literally felt like I read two different books. I'm intrigued enough to want to continue on though
WOW just WOW!! Someone pinch me please, this cannot be Brynn Burke’s debut book!! I’m absolutely floored!!

I loved this debut book by Brynn Burke. This was a fast paced dark read that will capture your attention from page one. The characters are dynamic and the story line is engaging. There are so many twists and turns and just when you think you've got it all figured out, it ends. Leaving you wanting so much more. This is definitely a five star must read! I look forward to reading the next book in this series.
My mind is still blown after reading this book. This was most definitely a great way to start off a new series!! Twin Flame gives you everything you want I'm a paranormal romance and so much more. Just when you think you know what's going to happen next here comes a plot twist and you are left wanting more.
I loved Oksana from the very beginning and her determination just made me love her that much more! Being that this is the 1st in the series you are introduced to numerous characters and it just makes you want to get a hold if book two that much quicker.
