The writing and editing leave a bit to be desired (as it is self-published), but the book is informative and funny. Not quite as funny as the author seems to think it is, but funny. Would definitely recommend; the book's positives outweigh the negatives. Also, it was nice to learn about the Apocrypha in a manner that wasn't dry and stodgy.
I tried reading the Apocrypha myself but the language was so ancient and difficult that I thought about finding a study guide and then going back to reading. Stack definitely informs the reader and provides interesting insight into the mysteries and histories of the books in the Apocrypha. But, at times, I found the humor super distracting so I'd skip ahead until the chapter got back to the main point. Overall, I learned a lot and highlighted a lot, despite the occasional distractions.
