Bound for Service #3

Shameful Surrender

Rate this book
Thirty-three-year-old tech company CEO Maia North has never been spanked, and she has certainly never been brought to a quivering, shameful climax while bent over the hood of her car in the company parking lot, but her life changes in a moment when handsome businessman Gordon Ernkat is tasked with giving her exactly what she needs, whether she likes it or not.

Maia has something that Gordan's employers want, and he is going to get it from her, one way or another. Maia soon finds herself being taken by van to a secret location, and before long she is blushing crimson as she is stripped bare, intimately examined, and punished sternly with Gordon's belt. But will mastering Maia's virgin body prove sufficient to compel her surrender?

Publisher's Note: Shameful Surrender is a stand-alone short story which is the third entry in the Bound for Service series, which shares the same near-future setting as The Institute Series. It includes spankings and sexual scenes. If such material offends you, please don't buy this book.

About the author

Emily Tilton

242 books500 followers
Emily Tilton, whose books have hit number one on Amazon in six different erotica categories, wishes she could live out her fantasies of submission the way her characters do.

Emily's erotica is a narrative version of her nearly lifelong quest to reconcile her submissive erotic orientation with her ethics. She writes erotic romance, but her books are always frankly and unashamedly about sex, because writing about sex helps her understand that fundamental part of her life better. She hopes maybe it does the same for her readers.

Over the many years since Emily became aware of her sometimes unbearable craving for spanking, ravishment, and all the shameful things that go with it, she has tried to come to terms with that craving in more ways than she can count. The first of the ways was by reading, voraciously, every piece of BDSM erotica she could find.

Eventually, she read "Story of O." As is reflected throughout her work, it changed her life, though the change has been gradual, and continues to this day. The idea that other women might share the lusts she has by turns been ashamed of and defiantly proud of, that a woman like the real Pauline Réage might write so beautifully of those lusts, and work them out so thoroughly and even pitilessly on a character, put Réage's famous pencil in her right hand. Or, to put it in the terms of EXPLORATIONS, which she considers her magnum opus, it put her left hand on the keyboard of her laptop and her right hand in her lap, if you know what she means. Emily started to write spanking stories.

Disappointing

I was so disappointed at the abrupt end. The series reads like a spy novel with characters using BDSM for control and intimidation. I hope the next book will satisfy my curiosity.

DNF at 30%

I think that this book has helped to teach me something about myself my ability to read dubcon/noncon:

I have a very narrow window of consent to be able to read these.

It appears that if the heroine is dominated due to pure desire, I'm not too bothered.

I seem to get irritated/upset/DNF if the reason for the domination is purely to take away the woman's personal agency and authority. Take Shameful Surrender, for example. The book implies that all women need to be dominated (we don't) and "The Institute" turns unwilling but perfectly intelligent and independent women into submissive honeypots. Emphasis on the unwilling and the submissive. That actually turns my stomach. "Let's take this unwilling, independent woman and turn her into a dependent spy/whore."

In espionage, a honeypot or honeytrap is a trap set to capture, kill or compromise an enemy agent using sex as the lure.

There are many ways in which the technique can be used to gain advantage. If the target is genuinely attached to the person who seduces them, information can be obtained over a long period — the target may trust his or her lover enough to reveal secrets, or may even change their allegience due to their emotional attachment. Even if the target does not deliberately give information to their lover, the lover may accidentally be given opportunities to obtain it themselves. A long-term relationship is not necessarily the goal, however — the technique can also be used to blackmail those who later regret their actions. Incriminating photographs can be an effective tool of coercion, for example. Sometimes, the technique is nothing more than a means of getting the target to lower their guard so that they may be captured or killed, or getting them to go to a location where this is more easily accomplished.

The most common employment of this technique is by women, either female intelligence agents or (if the purpose is simply to obtain material for blackmail) prostitutes. Some intelligence agencies, particularly in the Soviet bloc, are alleged to have specially cultivated agents for this purpose.

I can't. It sincerely bothers me. I can't find any part of his dominance or her submission hot because it isn't about sex or love or passion. It's about destroying someone's ability to take care of themselves in order to achieve your own ends. Its about brainwashing someone and destroying the person they are. That's not hot, its abuse.

Whilst this was an engaging novella and the story drew me in, it ended far too abruptly. I really didn't feel as though this was a story - it was more like a short build up to a scene, followed by the scene. I just felt the story was getting somewhere and BAM! we were into a very brief epilogue.

I was provided an ARC of this book by BookSprout and this is my honest review.....
This is my least favorite book in this series. The main characters, Maia and Gordon, were not particularly sympathetic or like able characters. I kinda felt like she was manipulated because she was a strong, intelligent, successful woman. The whole story left me disappointed, BUT, I am still a huge fan of Emily Tilton.

I have mixed feeling about this book. I like Emily's book but this one had a tone that didn't quite sit well with me. The story is well written. The characters aren't all likable but were well developed. The plot flows smoothly with the story. I just didn't like how the female character was treated.

Boring

Didn't keep my interest. Storyline just seemed dull until the end even confusing at times. It didn't intrigue until half way through but then it ended abruptly.

Shameful Surrender is riveting .

Though this book is a short story, I found myself wishing for more character building. I find it a much more enjoyable read when the main characters are developed in more depth. I can't really get into a story if I can't relate to the main characters. If they are more fleshed out then I can invest my Imagination and time to a story and enjoy it more.

Gordon et Maia

Daddy et girl

📖

Is it shameful to need to surrender?
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. This is my 9th book by Emily, the 2nd in this series, and I love an author who writes in dual point of view. This is a quick, steamy read that about Maia, the CEO of her company who is being hounded by Gordon and the rest of her board members to sell the metadata in her cloud storage. When the meeting finishes, Maia is hindered from getting into her car by Gordon who knows exactly what Maia needs. Afterwards, Maia is brought to a secret location where she cannot escape what is coming to her. But will Maia accept her future and make the deal to sell the metadata? You have to read to find out.

This isn't my favorite story by this author, however, it was well written and I loved the characters. That is why the 4 star rating verses a 3 star. The story is very short and it ends abruptly just when it was starting to get good. There aren't as many sexy scenes, probably because of the length, but they are still hot. One thing that I really loved about the book was the premise of companies having access to so much of a person's information and what they then do with that info. The story really made me think, and that is always a good thing. Despite me not loving this one, I am a huge fan of this author and I will continue to read, and enjoy, her books.

This is one of a very few books by this author that doesn’t completely irritate me. Her dominance and submission themes are here but not as completely overwhelming like many of her other books. Most of the books in the Bound for Service series that I have read have characters reappearing which is why I continue to read them but they certainly are not for everyone and I am not sure they are for me. My everlasting endless curiosity propels on as it has my entire life. Don’t say curiosity kills the cat because the answer is but satisfaction brought it back. Definitely my creed.

This book is part of a serie and ends on a big, rather... huge... cliffhanger.
Although I like this serie a lot, this took of power from Maia without giving her any choice, not knowing what she should expect my be disturbing to some readers. That is not my case. I loved this dark side of the story and can not wait to read where it goes.

She has something they need and he is being tasked with getting it any way he can. She has never been smacked so she is shocked when he does just that over her the hood of her car in a car park. She is going to be taught so much by him but will be get what he needs from her. See if he does

Partial book

I'm not sure why this book seemingly stops before the story ends. I've read the series out of order so I know that Maia and Gordon are together. But what happens on the rest of their journey. Gave it a 4 to be nice but an unfinished book is really 1 star ⭐ even if the writing is decent

Good short story

Maia's determined not to let her company's greatest asset be sold to or stolen by anyone who will abuse its power. Gordon and his team use her secret desires against her to bring her to her knees. The future of mankind does hang in the balance after all.

This was not what I expected. It has a very abusive theme. Kidnapping because of threatening. It also ends without sense. It has no ending.
Not my kind of story.

I think th story would have gone better if after she got what she craved she refused to do business with them or the very least let the readers know what happened to the two afterwards

This was just lame.... I didn't care about the tech company and why they will or won't sell. If I wanted help with stock options then I would have chosen a book geared towards that.....
