This was just an ok read. Things moved way too quickly for my liking. Was turned off by the h, she was too odd. I also didn't like her forwardness. There really wasn't much here in terms of characterization of the H. Overall, this wasn't a solid story.

Tori was rescued by firefighter Trace during a fire at a senior center. As none of the employees there could connect her with any of the residents her unknown identity added to her mystery. Trace stayed with her during the four days while she swam in and out of consciousness. Since he did not know her name he started calling her his “Beauty”. His voice was one of the things that Tori recalled clearly from her unconscious state.
Once she was awake Tori kept her identity a closely guarded secret. She would only allow Trace to have so much information. When Trace rescued Tori she had asked him to save her father also. This coupled with some interesting track marks on her arms led Trace to make some conclusions as to the type of trouble Tori maybe in.
The premise is cute and off course we have the “Beauty And The Beast” theme running through this story as Trace is a very large Samoan that had flowers delivered to Tori’s hospital room.
For me this story had enough holes in it that you could drive a fire truck through. Tori would flip back and forth from a bit of tease to world wise. Then when they go to the bar suddenly she has to work (because she needs to) all the while saying she needs to save her father in over a week. Poor Trace seems like a very sweet guy that has fallen for a bit of a wishy washy woman that is strong one minute, spacey the next and a world class runner the next. Plus the ridiculous nick names of the people in Trace’s life just made me roll my eyes. The characters seemed to be forced into playing the eccentric roles that the author dreamed up for them.
It was an ok read with loads of predictability and a totally over done second in command taking over owners company, no matter what (insert evil laughter).

Tori is in trouble she has been held captive and drugged in her own house by Denton a man who wants to control the family business. Her father put her business shares in trust until she is 25. If she is married by her birthday, she gets full control over half the business while her dad controls the other half. If she isn't married she loses it all. Denton is trying to control the business and hid Tori's dad after her had a heart attack. Tori somehow gets free and tracks down her father in a senior center. When she goes to rescue him, she is caught by a fire in the building. She almost dies but is save by fireman Trace who she begs to stay with her.
Trace found his sleeping beauty in the fire and pulls her out. He stays by her for days waiting for her to wake up. Not knowing her name he calls her Beauty. When she finally awakens, she is in a panic. Trace is determined to do whatever she needs to help her but his beauty won't share all her secrets. Tori's presence in his life is helping overcome his guilt over his sister's death.

I received an Advance Reader Copy for Commanding Heat written by Siera London and voluntarily reviewed this book. Trace, a fireman, rescued Victoria or "Tori" from a seniors' residence, but she remained in and out of consciousness for four days. Her presence at the residence was a thorough mystery, and Trace was absolutely bewitched somehow by her afterwards. He had visited her every day, spending countless hours at her bedside, anxiously waiting for her to gain full consciousness.
Tori was held prisoner at her family mansion, drugged by her father's Chief Executive Officer. She had managed to escape her home and was searching for her father when the fire was set at the residence. When she finally came to, she was discharged from the hospital, and she invites herself to his home to stay, becoming a part of his life, although they both know that she will be leaving soon to deal with her past, which is a race-against-time scenario.
This is a "suddenly...love"-themed story, and there is a good storyline, with a likewise good explanation of her background. Heavy with the Beauty and the Beast analogy, down to the rose, but it worked in this book.

I loved it! It's one of those books which draws you in right from the beginning. Mystery and intrigue is ripe from the beginning. A girl who is caught in a fire and saved by a firefighter, who for some reason can't leave her sight afterwards. Soon she is relying on him to help her escape her past. She knows only one thing, she must find her father, and stay safe until she does. He knows that mysterious 'beauty' needs his help and protection and he is more than willing to help her. They're both drawn to each other for no apparent reason, maybe they are meant to be together but will they be able to find their happily-ever-after is an other question entirely.
Story is well-written, and characters are interesting. I enjoyed reading it. I received a complimentary copy of this book.

Victoria Currey is on the run to save herself and her father from the power hungry Delton Drake. Since the death of her mother and her father having his second stroke. Her father consider Delton a friend, making him chief executive officer of his company until her twenty five birthday. However Delton have his own agenda which doesn't included Tori are her father. And will do anything to get then out of the way. Will Trace be able to save Tori and her father before Delton get his hands on them.

3.5 Star:
This was an ok read, I did feel the story line deserved a longer book so you could really get into it as it was a great story line. Tori seemed a bit bipolar and I also found it hard to believe after waking up and only having a few days to find her Dad she decides to shack up with Trace who to be fair seems like he deserves better than her. I did like the Beauty and the beast references and thought Trace and his friends were good people and want to know more about them. I will read another book in this series as I am hoping Tori was a one off character :)

First time in reading this author but snagged it also because it is part of this world. This author will rope you in right away with the drama. This centers around Victoria and Trace with no relenting in how this will keep you on the edge. It also makes you wonder what would you do in her shoes too. He is all heart and soul with the two of them creating their own heat wowzer. Life will be the wedge for these two but see how this author brings you right through it all with by the time you are done in a minute you think already wow.

The story is quite engaging, fast paced and the ideas are well developed. It is also quite the page turner and full of exciting drama and suspense. The characters are funny, witty and deep. The romance between Tori and Trace is very intense and beautiful. This is my first time reading this author’s work and it will not be my last. I loved this book and will read the others in the series.

She has had an accident and wakes up with only 4 days left for her father's rescue. She was pulled form the accident by Trace and he wants to help her. But she is focussed on her dad. A mystery that will keep you wondering by Siera London. I've never read anything by her before and I found some of it disjointed and didn't slow as well as I would have liked.

Tori was stuck - with her dad unable to run the company, Tori was being manipulated by an evil man intent on taking over. Trace is a sexy hot fireman with a huge protective streak. He and Tori had that spark that wasn't going to be put out anytime soon. When the plot turns and Tori is not only trying to protect her father but also her own life, will Trace be able to save her? This was a really enjoyable romantic suspense with good sensual steam.

Great book. Enough suspense and drama to keep it engaging without it being overwhelming. The natural attraction is there between the characters. The fire fighter that is a natural protector and the female character that needs protecting. Well written story and great characters.

Dallas Fire & Rescue: Commanding Heat (Kindle Worlds Novella) (Fiery Fairy Tales Book 3) by Siera London is a contemporary, suspense romance. It drew me in right from the beginning. The book is well written with great characters. A hot standalone, no cheating and an HEA.

Hot Samoan
I love a hot Samoan! Trace has all the qualities I expect in a rugged protector. After rescuing Victoria from a fire he goes in to full protector mode, no questions asked. This story kept me riveted from start to finish. This series is great.

This is a first for me for this author and series and I definitely want to read more! The book is drama filled and will hook you in the beginning. She may not tell her rescuer the full truth but she tells him enough that he wants to stay by her side and help. Tori and her heart worn on his sleeve fireman, a true hero & heroine, H&h, storyline and plot that has a lot of drama, a bit of Mystery and a whole lot of heat. Recommend One-Clicking Commanding Heat!
