About the author

Under her "real" name, Vonna Harper has published more fiction than she can keep track of . These include category romances for the major players as well as the 'juicy' stuff. She also penned a series of well-received Native American historicals. One earned her finalist status in both the Women Writing the West Willa award and Pacific Northwest Booksellers Association. Before discovering romances, both erotic and otherwise, Vonna 'confessed' all kinds of nonsense for the confession magazines.

When asked about erotica research, she insists, "Of course I've time-traveled to the ancient Everglades, infiltrated bondage strongholds, done wilderness search and rescue, and spent a night trapped in a workout gym with Mr. Universe. This is an erotic romance that takes place in dark world controlled by The Society where woman had few rights. I have to say the beginning I really did not understand the Society rules where this book takes place in. After, I started to understand the Society rules in this book I enjoyed the book. I have to say I hated the ended because it felt you were running a race where you just stop running right before you cross the finish line... That is this books ending it just stopped without a real ending. I received an ARC of this book. This review is my own honest opinion about the book like all my reviews are.

I liked this story. It was about a girl, Alia, who became part of a baseball team and since she was part of the lower class and not an 'elite', she had to follow all the directions of the owner, Kade, an extremely sexy and rich man. In order to make sure Alia followed his rules and was completely honest with him, Kade punished Alia with spanking and other more imaginative intimate punishments. The two grew closer and their attraction to each other continued to grow as well. This book was steamy and had a lot of intimate acts but the characters didn't actually get personally intimate until the very end. It contained steam, anticipation, and excitement. I received a review copy of this story and am leaving a voluntary honest review.

His Purchase is the first book in The Society series by Vonna Harper. The storyline was an interesting one. I did enjoy the characters. Kade and Alia’s story is not a usual one. Kade is the Elite class and owns Alia as she is a lower class. They grow closer as their attraction grows through her punishments. There are some steamy scences but n this book that don’t quite end in intimacy.
I did like the book but I had a problems with the errors in it. It tended to pull me out of the story a lot. The way the book ended abruptly without an actual ending is the only thing that kept me from giving this book three stars.

This is a neat little dark romance. His Purchase focuses on the relationship and dominant control of a wealthy alpha male and his ownership of a female sports team and his "special interest" in one of his new players.

I enjoyed this little read, there isn't a huge amount of plot just the "preparation" of Alia as they get ready for the first game of the season and Kade's methods to make her the best. There are some steamy scenes of dominance and control and a sweet romance bubbling in the background that blooms at the end.

There is a small number of writing mistakes (typos, missing words) but they did not spoil my enjoyment.

Recommended if these types of novels are your jam.

This is the first book in the Society Series. Kade is a member of the Society, a group of wealthy men who control a dark world. He has purchased Alia and she is his. He trains her to follow his wishes and spanks her when she doesn't. This is a dark, erotic romance where the woman really doesn't want to be there but finds herself being aroused. The book has some dark scenes and is an interesting read but I feel that the ending was abrupt. The book could use some editing. I read a free copy via Book Sirens and voluntarily chose to review it.

I didn't realize this was a "Littles" and Society story.

Kade and Alia's story at least has a little bit different plot than is typical. She has already graduated and is a little more mature than some other "Littles". Kade at least not a totally out there and seems to realize the basic class system is wrong, but, It is what it is.

If you are into the "Littles" this is probably a good short for you to read.

It definitely kept my interest through the whole thing and I'm curious as to what's next in the series. There were several editing errors I saw in the book, it seemed more in the second half, but the premise itself was engaging and I very much enjoyed the characters.

Only half a book

Lots of missing spellings and missing words. Could look past that because story was interesting. The book just stopped right in the middle of the story. Never had this happen before. Sorry I bought this book and won't be purchasing any other books by this offer. Extremely disappointed!

I liked the storyline of the book, the Society and the others and girl's baseball. Beyond that I could not find much more to the book with the abrupt ending. I cannot say anything about the spankings since we were warned before we read the book other then seemed her punishment was excessive.

This book is set in a world controlled by The Society. Alia has just been bought by a professional baseball team and the team’s new owner Kade is determined to get the best performance possible from her. 

I found the premise interesting, and I like that there was a focus on women’s sports and especially baseball. It was wonderfully steamy and I liked the way the relationship developed. The only downside of the book was the abrupt ending, I wish that it was a bit more resolved than how it did. But overall I did enjoy the book.
