Kudeta 1 Oktober 1965: Sebuah Analisis Awal

Rate this book
The history behind the publication of this work is as fascinating as the questions this work raises about the abortive October 1965 coup, led by Lieutenant Colonel Untung and his associates, in Central Java. This paper, an informal 1971 account, presents both the problems and the excitement of such a field of study in which little primary material was available aside from the transcripts of many of the political trials conducted in the coup's aftermath. The authors' hypothesis presents many controversial views about the various configurations and possibilities of power and motive that led to the coup; yet it allows for many important insights about the complex role of the military in political life and the antagonism between city and provincial governments as well. 1971. 4th printing 1999. 174 pages.

By end of the day, whatever happens above there on the system, the victims are always be the peoples😞

"It is our idea of what actually happened, but, as a certain currently unmentionable political organization was won't to say in sunnier days, we are always open to criticism from other groups."

An eye-opening, fresh perspective. Please do read this since the Indonesian government is actively trying to cover up the military participation in this tragedy, and belittling the bloody massacre happened to the innocent communist during those years.

Menyibak Selubung Kemelut 65

Only something for people with a particular interest in Indonesia or 20th century coups and political upheavals and the like, but if you fall into that camp, this is a fascinating read: a blow-by-blow of the October 1, 1965, military coup also offering good speculation of the various parties' motivations and thinking processes throughout the day and the weeks that followed.

I did not finish reading it. I lost my curiosity, partly due to my busyness, as well as the paper writing style that is not to be consumed just for fun. Probably, I should first read something related that portrays a bigger picture instead of going too detailed.
