When fantasy becomes reality X 3…
I’d been doing just fine as a New York food and wine critic, content with books, baking, and my boyfriend. But “content” wasn’t what I was after. Passion and excitement were more like it, but now that I’d gotten royally dumped and unceremoniously fired, “sucked” was the best word to describe my life.
So I moved. To Northern California. To claim my inheritance from my great-aunt: a run-down house in a small town that had yet to recognize the arrival of the twenty-first century.
The house was a wreck and there was no money for repairs. But then the Fix-It Guys arrived, three sexy as sin alpha males who offered their services to fix up the house…and teach me a thing or two about hammering, nailing, and drilling.
Suddenly I had all the passion and excitement I could handle.
Taylor, Dom, and Logan were all about giving me what I wanted, and I was more than happy to cater to their needs as well. But falling in love with three men? That never happens, at least not with a happily ever after, right?
Wrong.
Grab hold—Kayla’s path to love with three hot men will take you on a wild ride.

Once in I couldn’t put “Nailing Studs” by Virna DePaul down. This book is hot hot hot.... There is so much passion going on. Even though there is a ton of passion and attractiveness each character has the reservations. For Kayla moved into her aunts house, who passed, and there is a lot to do with reservations of the house and finding a job. She moved from New York after her relationship has ended. Then there is Dominic, or Dom, whose fiancé ended there relationship for finding someone she loved more. Then there is Taylor who doesn’t think he can love anyone. Lastly there is Logan who doesn’t do relationships after seeing what Dom went through. So each character has something they are moving through. Can they move past there problems and find love? Now that is the question that as I reader you should find out for yourself. Truthfully I could not put this book down. That honestly I would recommend this book.
I was given an advanced reader copy of this book for my honest review.
Let me begin by saying that this was my very first trip into the Reverse Harem genre. I have read books in the past that have been billed as RH, but they were all missing something. This book had that something.
It was very much an enjoyable story focusing on Kayla and how she is able to "find herself" after her life in New York came to an end. I enjoyed the fact that this story was told from multiple points of view, nearly as much as I enjoyed these characters and their interactions. Although as a reader, you did have to suspend a certain amount of reality (such as these men coming across as young, but already being wealthy enough they can take on projects such as Kayla's without payment up front). However, I felt that the characters emotions and reactions felt REAL. They had to build that trust up, they had to work on their relationship (both one on one and as a group). Sure, there were some hot sex scenes to be had, but I didn't feel like the focus was ON that particular part of their relationship. I enjoyed seeing these characters interact with each other, I enjoyed watching their story evolve.
I would definitely read more of this genre if for no other reason than as a pleasant diversion from the usual books that I read. And I would definitely read more from this author!
execellent book - this book is a step out of my preferred genre - and i am glad i took the step. it is a good book - a great build of story and characters. the guys are great, loving, patient, kind, funny, sexy, sexy, and sexy.
i loved how the idea of multiple lovers was dealt with because as we all know this is not an acceptable norm in society - that internal struggle Kayla goes through and the gentle way the men handle it really makes this story
4 Stars I was excited to try reading a reverse harem story. I mean what women don't want the attention of three super hot, sexy guys, right? This story starts off very cute and sweet. A young girl loses her beloved great-aunt, and her job, along with her boyfriend. She learns she's has inherited her aunt's house in California. So she packs up her life in NYC and heads to the west coast. She quickly realizes this beautiful old house is in need of some serious repairs. It quickly takes a turn into hot and steamy with two fix-it guys and a real estate agent. There are funny scenes, and there are sexy scenes. All in all, makes for an interesting read.
Having read and enjoyed many of Virna DePaul's contemporary romances, I was eager to try out her take on a reverse harem romance (menage). After reading, let's just say I wouldn't mind calling on the Fix-It Guys! This was a fun and steamy romance featuring Kayla and three hot handy-men. All of the men were fully focused on Kayla and not one another.
I have read several reverse harem stories and they don’t match this one. There was a plot line to this story and a growth between the characters into a relationship it was a good read.
Kayla Pratchett inherits her Great-Aunt Tabitha’s house in Northern California, so she packs up and moves there from New York. Why not? She’s lost her job and her jerk boyfriend dumped her, so a fresh start in a house she loves sounds like a great plan. Until she gets there and realizes how much work the house really needs and her with no moola to do it. Enter Taylor and Dom, the super hot Fix-It Guys. They have an idea and with the help of their super hot friend Logan, all of Kayla’s dreams could possibly come true. If she’ll let them.
This is billed as a reverse harem, not really a term I approve of, but whatever. Kayla gets involved with three hot guys and she doesn’t even have to choose one over the others. Now that’s what I’m talking about! While the sex is smokin’ hot, there’s also a story here with decent characters and not bad world building. Told from several POVs is something I love, it means I can get inside more than one person’s head and see what’s going on. It’s definitely a story that kept me reading, not wanting to put the book down.
Wow, very hot...scorching at times. I’ve read & enjoyed many ménage stories & Nailing Studs is right up there with my favourites. The chemistry between all the characters is amazingly hot. The connection between all in just something you don’t see often. The fear, lust & eventually love is all real & the stakes are raised as feelings start to change. This is kind of a coming of age story of sorts with Kayla looking to find who she really is & start a new life. She finds herself as well as Taylor, Dom & Logan who each learns something about themselves. Recommend to read. I received this book from the author & voluntarily reviewed it.
After reading "Sext Addict", I just had to jump into this one. Even though it shares the "reverse harem" aspect, "Nailing Studs" pulls on those heartstrings a little bit harder and maybe a little bit sooner than the previous book.
Taylor, Dom, Logan and Kayla have an incredible and deep connection, and they grab your attention until the very last page.
Even if you never read this genre/trope before, I would still recommend you give it a try. I'm sure you'll be pleasantly surprised.
I'm not easily swayed by hawt guys and their abs...
...except, yeah, I totally am, based on my reviews and Kindle library; many of the covers have the theme of "those happy lines that make women stupid". Three guys and abs that don't end? You have my attention.
This is a fast-paced yet believable story of a woman inheriting a house and the three men who take care of her. The house. Both, with the same thoroughness and eagerness for everything they do. While there are touches of reality that are welcome, like condoms and lube, the lack of jealousy between the three men requires some suspension of disbelief.
The characters are reasonably well developed, though with some sexist stereotypes - she bakes and cooks, they're manly men who fix things and take care of everything else. The sex scenes (from solo to quad) are all very well done and keep this at a solid five stars. I'd read more from this author. An example of the writing:
"Yeah, I’d love to @@@@ her with Dom here, sandwich her between us and come at her from all sides. Nothing sexier than watching a woman take on what should effectively be more than she could handle but handle it just fine. I wanted to see how much Kayla could handle. Maybe even throw Logan in the mix, given what Dom had told me about their run-in with him at the diner. Something told me she’d rise to the occasion, and then raise the bar."
This was a nice book to read and sweet too. A story about a down on her luck young woman and how she inherits a beloved old family home from her aunt who she adores but who passed away recently. Causing her much heartbreak that she missed her funeral due to being in hospital with pneumonia. Moving to this new town she sees her house in disrepair and calls in the Fix IT guys to help her with a leaky sink but soon turns into a full restoration of the entire house by two incredibly sexy and hot alpha males who are upset that the house will be sold as Kayla can't afford to keep it. But as Taylor and Dominic soon realise they both want this magnetic woman and makes her an offer she can't turn down. The two of them for her and they will completely restore the house for free which Kayla agrees to after much deliberation and even gets the added bonus of Logan they're incredibly sexy friend.
The four of them embark on a wild journey of lust and companionship that leaves all of them wanting more. The story was quick paced full of hot alpha men and a woman who gets to have them, experiencing something that every woman dreams of but has yet to experience. I really quite enjoyed this book
What a sexy RH story with three very hot, very different male characters.
Kayla gets dumped by her boyfriend and then moves cross country to her great aunt Tabitha's house. She's surprised at the poor condition of the house, and when the kitchen faucet breaks, she needs to get a plumber to come and fix the sink. When she sees the sexy guys in the ad for Fix It Guys, she gives them a call. Little does she know, those are not models but the actual owners of the company.
Taylor and Dom are like night and day - with Taylor being easy going and smiles a lot whereas Dom is more brooding. As the story progresses, we also get introduced to their friend, Logan who is a commercial real estate agent and has a dominating personality.
I love these books that have an actual story line to them in addition to the hot interactions among the characters. The three guys have very different personalities and therefore Kayla's interactions with them is different. Definitely a story worth reading.
There were several things that bothered me in this book (which is btw, menage) -the heroine, Kayla, always mentions her ex even though she is over him (he almost crushed her self-esteem by saying how fat she is) -Kayla was a very hot&cold character. One moment she wants to fuck all the men and after that, she hides from them because she needs to think -I love it when a story uses a POV from both characters. In this story, we have Kayla, Logan, Taylor and Dom and we get the POVs from all of them. However, the men' POVs were much, much shorter than Kayla's. Honestly, when reading Kayla's POV I was like ''When does it end? Maybe the chapter after that will be in one of the men's...'' IT. WAS. NOT. If you're including multiple POVs at least make them long approximately the same! There were many moments I wanted to hear from their perspective, not Kayla's.
Her boyfriend dumped her, she lost her job, her favorite aunt did while she was sick. Homeless she leaves New York to go back to California to the house her aunt left her to start her life all over again. Once she arrives she finds the house a mess. She call the Fix it Guys having them come to fix the sink and gone her an estimate on renovating the house. With little money and no job the men struck up a deal with her before she decides to put the house up for sale. When all is said and done will they all have to walk away from each other or will a miracle happen and she will b able to keep the house we also pursue her dream job.
My Review: I picked this up as a free ebook on kindle, just looking for some new romance. This was definitely steamy but I kind of felt like that was all it gave me. There were some weird timeline issues, a scene would happen and then it would say a couple weeks had passed but then one of the characters would think about that scene last night, it really threw me out of the story. Other than the sex scenes there really wasn't much of a bond between the characters to lead to the result of the book. I did like Dom and Taylor but wasn't much into Logan. I also found Kayla to be a little dull and, shall we say, not the brightest bulb.
Being a RH romance, I find it odd to say that this was a 'sweet' read, but that is just what it was. Kayla, Dom, Taylor and Logan all find the way in this book and all roads end with Kayla. She is ultimately the one who could either make or break everyone.
There is no drama in this book (unless you count the times where Kayla was unsure of herself), it is a standalone and it ends in a HEA. Only warning is that there are 3 guys and 1 woman, so of course 3 holes are needed..........Yep, this is a steamy book.
This was a good reverse harem story. I am very picky when it comes to these types of stories but I really enjoyed this one. All the characters fit well together and had intense chemistry. I did feel like Logan didn’t quite fit into the group. He was the last to join and seemed like the odd one out a bit. I wish that there was an epilogue, a look into their future would have been perfect. There is a little talk of past relationships, the h has a brief conversation with the guys ex but that is it. No scenes with ow/om.
I am new to the writings of Mrs. DePaul and I have to confess that I just couldn't put this book down. Her characters are all well written and very well developed, with just a couple of very small typos that could have easily been overlooked in the editing process this book will steal you away into the world of yummy hot romance. This book is,more than just banging each of the men have the chance to develop a true connection to their lover. I would happily recommend this book to others. I hope you enjoy her work as much as I did.
To have this happen would be a dream come true for 90% of women! Surrounded by hot men who only have eyes for you and being drawn to them like you're magnetically linked. Wow! What a rush that would be!
This author has a knack for writing hot steamy scenes but also writes them into a story that flows and makes you wish for forever love.
If you like reverse harem books, you should love this one.
Really enjoy this story. Even though it was a reverse harem book I like the whole dimension of the book. How the guys were all so different and humble. Kayla finding herself and her place where she fit in especially after the condescending ex she had who criticized her. This is an uplifting story, full of love, passion sexy times and laughter. Loved it!
This is still a classic trashy romance novel with a reverse harem plotline, but it gets 4 stars because it has baking and home restoration in it. Also, I love that Kayla isn't set up as a cliche meek prude that some reverse harem stories end up portraying. Overall, a good read despite being cheesy and cliche as all romance novels are.
I'm not really into Reverse Harem but this one sounded really good so I started reading it. I loved it. Each guy has his own issues but can Kayla bring them all together? Loved it and even though Dom kind of put me off at first, he eventually comes around and now it's going to take all 3 guys to talk her into staying! This was a cute story and a very enjoyable read.
Great read. Told in multiple POV. The characters each had their own doubts and worries and had issues to work through but in the end they knew they worked better together. Well developed full of humor, passion, and hot sex. Ms DePaul knows how to keep you interested and wanting more.
This book has everything you are looking for in a a RH book. Sexy men, a feisty female with a curvy body. It made me laugh a lot and cry a little! One of my new favorites and a must read!
I enjoyed this book a lot. Erotic and romantic called same time. Perfect little fantasy. Well written with a good use for humor. I always love a happy ending especially a hot one.
Menage, explicit. Logan, Taylor, and Dom shared a woman before and she abused their trust. Kayla is new in town and needs her aunt's house fixed. She is attracted to all three men. She is hot and cold, stuck on her ex, and hides from them instead of talking.
I stopped trying with this at about 40%. There's nothing really wrong with it so much as it's boring. I didn't like any of the characters. There was waaaaay too much exposition. Basically the whole thing was a drag and I couldn't finish it.
