Chasing Flames

Rate this book
Waitress, Symphony Porter’s obsession with fire has made her a target for distrust and rejection. She’s broke and with her home weeks away from foreclosure, she’s eager to drive to Key West to claim an unexpected inheritance. Symphony arrives in town expecting a quick exit, but soon stumbles into trouble—to include six feet three inches of scorching hot danger to her heart. With time running out, the last thing Symphony needs is a handsome investigator hot on her trail.

Fire investigator, Nathan Zachary has had enough relationships crash and burn, that he knows at first sight that Symphony is the woman for him. He’s ready to make the saucy waitress a permanent part of his life, but a series of random fires puts Symphony on a collision course with Nathan’s case. As the spark of attraction ignites between them, so does the danger and suspicion.

Nathan is everything Symphony’s ever wanted, but she’s learned good things don’t last for long. To make matters worse, someone in town knows her secret. As the evidence mounts, how will these two fiery lovers learn to trust and uncover the truth before their happily ever after goes up in flames?

Love is complicated

If you love the chase you will definitely enjoy Nathan and symphonies I love journey. HEA ending symphony goes out of her way and then some to avoid male attention. She is focused on making money to save the trailer home that she lives in and to pay her mothers doctors bills. But of course she attracts the attention of former Marine currently the Key West fire department fire investigator. That would be Cutler Stevens. Of course he's over 6 feet tall fine and it's very hard for symphony to ignore him. But she gives it the old college try. It's a cute story you'll love it 😍

Fire

She's a fire starter and he's a fireman/arson investigator. Match made in heaven maybe. Great hot book set in the keys

#rippedbodicebingo: firefighters

Possessive alphahole heroes are most definitely not for me, ESPECIALLY not combined with vulnerable virgin heroines in precarious situations. This guy was an asshole and I didn't trust him as far as I could throw him, and the power dynamics and potential for disaster made me fear for the heroine basically the whole time.

An extra star for the concept, though: heroine whose anxiety manifests as pyromania, stuck in a genuinely hard place, the firefighter who falls for her.

☺️☺️☺️

Great story, electrifying chemistry between characters. However, once it was revealed about the the step sisters duplicitous and skeeming acts, everything seemed rushed through to the end. I would have liked to know more about her parents marriage/divorce.and what happened at the law office. The ending just seemed rushed.

I think one of the things I liked best in this book by Siera London was the way she used fire related phrasing to tie into the theme of her story about a romance between a fire starter and an arson investigator. In terms of sexual escapades, I would say this was somewhere between a PG & R rating of details, yet it definitely got the picture across to the reader of just what the couple was doing and how they were doing it. I will definitely add other books in her fireman series to my TBR. This is a voluntary review of an Advanced Reader Copy of this book from Booksprout.

Symphony is just trying to stay out of trouble and raise enough money to save the trailer park that is her home, of course the fact she is a pyromaniac isn't a great help. She meets Cutler Stevens an ex marine and current fire investigator for the Key West fire department the attraction is instant but can these two total opposites be anything for one another or will everyone's assumptions destroy Symphony. A fast paced story that draws you in keeps you entertained till the very last page

Chasing flames

Trust is a powerful thing and love and trust goes hand in hand. Blue and Nathan loved each other but when does duty comes before trust. Nathan almost lost his love because duty came first with him, Agitha and the stepsisters where a force of all evil you really never know who you trust.

Surprisingly good.....

I’ll give it to Ms. London, she had a few surprises in store. The only true problem I had was how it cut from one scene to the next. Overall it’s a good enough read that I purchased books 2 & 3.

I loved this one. Things can go wrong in a relationship but with determination to right the wrong for love. I believe it's awesome Nathan regretted not trusting Blue as he called her. He promised to make it up to her.

This was okay. We've got a fire starter named Symphony who is just trying to make money to save her home. She's doing anything she can to make the cash fast. When she meets arson investigator Nathan, her world is shaken. They're instantly in love. The timeline of the story is very fast paced and sweeps you up like a whirlwind. I definitely felt bad for Symphony for being misunderstood. The way everyone seemed to jump to conclusions about her made me feel bad for her. Nathan was pretty yummy in his understanding, but when he jumps to the wrong conclusion, I was upset and wanted to smack him. The ending gets pretty crazy. I think I would have liked it to be longer and with more detail to smooth out the details and get to know the characters better.

I gave this an extra star bc of the H. He was wonderfully possessive, jealous, and protective of the h. I loved how crazy he was for her. However, the h was annoying. She was not a good character. Needing to burn things to feel better was NOT normal. Also did not like how the story unfolded or the twists and surprises. The beginning involved the h being pressured by her coworkers to show off her body for tips which was not necessary. The stripping part was also dumb.

While I enjoyed this story, it was a little choppy to read. The tone of fire starter falling in love with an arson investigator wasn't problematic, but to me the story did not flow. Symphony and Nathan were a good couple, with their ups and downs. I enjoyed her relationships with Rachel and Adam and his relationships with Cutler and Trace.

Chasing Flames, is a fast paced romantic suspense. Symphony and Nathan, are a case of opposites attracting - an arson investigator and someone who uses fire to soothe their soul. This story could have had a bit more detail at times, but overall it was quite an enjoyable read.

Interesting read

I chose this book because it was part of the Kindle World of Dallas Fire and Rescue at times it seemed a little hard to follow the storyline, but it does come together in the end. I have already purchased the next book and hope I will find a little more footing in this series.
