The Flood

Rate this book
Gus, the unicorn, takes young Jesse on an adventure to meet the real Noah. Jessie discovers how the unicorns survived the great flood by convincing Father Time to help them disappear into the “Great Veil” which is why they can only be seen during the full moon.

This is book 2 in the Unicorn Daze Series. While it helps to read book one, Gus, first, this is a stand alone story and can be read as such. This short story is written in an easy to read play format. I can be read aloud, with or without voices, and can also be acted out as a short play.

Stay tuned for more adventures of Gus and Jessie as they search for Gus' lost love and meet his father, The Unicorn King. These stories are suitable for ages 3 - 8.

An enjoyable story for the young and the young at heart. Gus the Unicorn takes his human friend, a young girl named Jessie, on the adventure of a lifetime. Travelling through time, she gets to witness the loading of animals on Noah's Ark! A possible explanation for why Unicorns are no longer seen in modern times is given. She also meets Father Time along the way.

This would be a great book to read to your children or grandchildren. Fun, great writing and great narration. The author does a great job both in the writing and in her narration.

I was given a copy of this audiobook by the author and chose to review it.

The Flood is a unicorn fantasy for kids that involves Noah and his ark along with a contemporary child and, of course, a magical unicorn. The story is sweet with a tinge of sadness. This is a nice short story to listen to on a drive with the kids.

The author narrates her own book in a pleasant style that reminds me of story time at the library.

Definitely read the previous book before this one and buy this as part of a set, unless you get it as a free download. The book is too short to even be a satisfying short story.
It was good to connect with Gus again, but I wanted more.
Gus collects Jessie for a very short adventure. You can tell how lonesome he is.
