I picked this book up at the Dollar Tree and let me say it’s worth more than a dollar. This book contains delicious recipes, tasty Summer salads that are not only colorful and beautiful but delish! If you love cooking , elegance and southern cuisines, then this book is for you.
Not to be confused with a restaurant of the same name in Waco, Texas. This one is in New York. This collection of recipes are what I would consider California yuppie despite the disclaimer that they are traditional. The recipes themselves appear simple and the book is loaded with color pictures.
The famous Magnolia Bakery finally has their own cookbook. Providing you with more than just cupcake recipes, this book covers all entrees and main courses and, of course, dessert. The recipes are easy and the photographs are beautiful. Who needs to go to NYC when you have Magnolia at your fingertips?
Everything we've made from this book has turned out delicious. All recipes are simple with easy-to-find ingredients, and range from light Italian fare to all-American classics. To make the recipes truly shine, the home cook should place emphasis on freshness and quality of ingredients, as the recipes are designed to take advantage of uninhibited natural flavors. The desserts are spectacular, befitting the core specialties of the gem NYC bakery. Highly, highly recommended!
Solid cookbook filled with simple, comforting recipes. A nice mix of both sweet and savory items using ingredients found at your local grocery store. Emphasis is placed on fresh seasonal ingredients. Out of the eight or nine dishes we have already made, there was only one recipe we would not try again. A definite winner.
I wasn't expecting much from it but pretty pictures and maybe a cupcake recipe or two. Surprise, surprise: the recipes turned out to be solid and I especially recommend Lemon-Tarragon Chicken. In general, she uses way too much cream and butter for my taste, but it's easy enough to solve it: put less! This is a lovely edition as well, in gentle pink and green hues.
The recipes themselves are nothing special, but leafing through it reminded me oft the things that are delicious and then I made them in my own way. For example: Crostini with Goat Cheese, Tomatoes, and Red Onion Cream of Carrot Soup Creamy Tomato Soup with Orzo Roast Lemon Herb Chicken with Pan Juices
This is a lovely little cookbook. Beautiful to look at with awesome recipes. The pepper relish has become one of my staples, and I can't wait to try the corn fritters with chili/lime mayo, and the strawberry icebox pie.
