This little booklet puts to rest for me why Newfoundland joined Confederation with Canada. It was the logical thing to do considering the number of ties that existed between the two area. As the author stated, “For Newfoundland in 1948, the point to stress is that the Confederation question did not concern some exotic, unknown land, but rather a kindred countey with which multiple links already existed…”
