In the ’Prologue’ someone is out for revenge, everyone within his residence will feel the wrath of his vengeance he reigns down on them.
Zoey is twenty-five, she owns her own bar called ‘Overtime’ and soley takes care of her eleven year old sister Chrissy, who has the worst case of cerebral palsy Doctors have ever come across.
Due to Zoey hosting a date auction to raise funds for the ‘Children’s Miracle Centre’ where her sister resides, she bid and won a date night with Austin, a man she frequently admires from across the bar where he and his friends frequent.
A date she’ll forever hold close to her heart. a date which turned into so much more, a passion ignited that they both couldn't ignore. But Zoey swore all she could give him would be this night, unfortunately she doesn’t have time for dating. So when dawn breaks Zoey sneaks out of his bed and takes the walk fo shame home. Austin, knows what he wants, and he wants Zoey, friends first which turned into so much more, and slowly he cracked her resolve, these two made perfect sense, they were perfect for each other.
Lieutenant Austin and his close band of brothers live to fight the flames, a risk they take whenever they are called out on a job, it’s what they are trained for. Cam and Jake have been his best friends since they were kids, playing hockey together, now they fight fires side by side, each having the others back.
I inhaled this, once started I didn't put it down until I've inhaled that last page. So much happened in this book, the fast burn romance which once ignited they couldn't deny their attraction for each other, a hunt for an arsonist that was loose in their town, and one tragedy that was unbearably sad. This ticked all the boxes, sweet, sad, sizzling sexy times.

I've been waiting for Austin and Zoey's story for a while and it definitely lived up to my expectations. It was emotional and sweet, and so hot I needed my own firefighter to come rescue me (I'm still waiting on him). I love these men and while it ends on a HEA for the couple there's still a background story that hasn't been resolved yet so I can't wait for the next book.

Austin Hawke is a noble man, an everyday hero, a firefighter with his buddies Jake Ryan and Cam Phillips (who will also be getting their own stories) and through out fighting the challenges and avoiding danger on a daily basis while fighting the sudden cases of arsen, Austin tries to handle the challenges and obstacles of an everyday work (dealing with the aftermaths of a sudden death of his fellow collegue and friend who died in a fire) while his life suffers too - wanting to win over a woman he loves, Zoey, a 25 year old local beauty, a bar owner and a photography enthusiast, who takes care of her 11 year old sister suffering from a cerebral palsy and doesn't have the time regardless the want and desire, for a man in her life - even though it's the fear of losing and being left behind that actually hold her back from giving her all to Austin.
BUT that doesn't stop him - Austin is patient, resilient and persistant in showing her that he will be there for her and her sister, no matter what
there's not much fight and resistence left in Zoey...she slowly opens up and lets Austin in...
BUT when a tragedy strikes, Zoey is shattered and all her fears come rushing in along with the excrutiating pain of yet another loss...will the young growing love be enough for starters to give her strength to carry on?
KC Lynn writes an emotionally filled stories with a different kind of ALPHA, yes, different in a way, he's not an asshole LOL, in fact, he's just the opposite, he has all the other qualities of an alpha and yet he makes just the right moves to make you swoon ans sweep you of your feet without having to grovel LOL (it's fresh, for a change, I guess, I'm so used to reading about the assholery ways of dominant overbearing pricks, this one sounds like the fresh air of sandalwood *grins stupidely*)
anyway, praises aside, I loved some aspects of the story (mainly concerning the characters and their affection and steamy scenes, and emotional interactions as well) BUT the part that felt "unfinished" was the actual action segment of the unraveling plot.
the whole time, we are following these arsen cases and the danger surrounding them, while Austin and the guys from his unit try to find the villain, it all leads towards it, BUT the whole thing just stops at the end of the last page, leaving us with practically nothing.
It's not even a proper cliffy.
It's just abrupt and unfinished and I didn't like that.
At all.
so, that was the real bummer, cause it ruined the whole impact of the story. It felt unsaid, bare but not open to conclusion... 3.75 stars

Covergasm + Unicorn Author = Sealed The Deal
KC Lynn's works speaks volumes. More often than not, it was always her works that makes my day better. As a reader and blogger, I craved for books that just do not entertain me but in totality will make a better person out of me. And it's what usually happens whenever I read a KC Lynn book. More than the gripping story and scorching scenes, it's always the underlying message of the book that had me coming back for more. And with her every release, she never disappointed me. Ultimate Sacrifice was no different. It has KC Lynn written all over it in bold capital letters.
Zoey and Austin's tale to HEA captivated me from start to finish. Just like every other KC Lynn's works, the story just flowed flawlessky. The chemistry between the MC's was off the charts. I was grabbed right from the very first page
and never once did I let go. Them's was filled with passion and emotions I can feel right through my core. I was lost in their story and the emotional roller-coaster ride it brought that I was surprised I hit Epilogue. I don't know if I'll scream or beg KC Lynn for more of them but one thing is for sure, I am so in love with their journey. I swooned hard. I cried and I fell in love. It gave me the best feeling.
I can talk and write for hours about them but I am lost for words and know that it's best if you experience it yourself. Be the judge. One click Ultimate Sacrifice and experience a journey full of love and hope. Remember it wouldn't be KC Lynn if she'll not broke your heart at some point. But, don't ever forget that she'll piece you back wonderfully. It was always what I was craving from her. The beauty of pain, heartbreak, and love. Gah! Even the beauty of crying.
Congratulations KC! As always, you never cease to amaze me. I can never forget a fellow reader flooding me messages about how great your works is when I recommended your books and mentioned, "I don't know if I'll sobbed at these scenes, or be turned on, or fell in love or just do all at the same time " God, you managed to do that to us. And that's saying something. Keep writing us stories!

Zoey is crazy about Austin Hawke. The hot firefighter fans her flame but she is so stretched to the limit between managing her bar and looking out for her sick sister. Their parents are total losers. Her dad left when Zoey was 15 and her mother's only priorities are booze and men. Chrissy is afflicted with a severe case of cerebral palsy and Zoey had to place her in a facility. She just can't afford around the clock live in help, so instead she busts her butt to scrap together every nickel she can to take care of Chrissy.
Zoey knows Austin deserves more, but she can only give him one night. One magical night that is all that the two of them have dreamed of with each other.
"I want you but I only have tonight."
"What if I want more than one night? What if I don't want to let you go after this is over?"
All Zoey can do is yearn for what she can't have. All Austin can do is hope that Zoey sees that she can have more than what she is settling for.
It's not just Zoey's reluctance to give them a chance that Austin is dealing with; it seems that there is a crazed arsonist in town and that person is getting more daring and dangerous with every fire. Could it be someone close to the firefighters themselves?
"Are the police any closer to catching the arsonist?"
"no." Frustration burns inside of me as I think just how far they are from catching the bastard. "These fires are unlike anything I've ever encountered, there's no telling what this asshole will do next."
Austin is determined to break down Zoey's barriers. He is so sweet with her sister, so loving. Whatever it takes, he's willing to do.
"You can run, Zoey girl, but I'll always catch you."
My heart prances in my chest. "Is that a promise?"
"Damn straight."
There are so many different emotions in this story. Steamy encounters, and heartbreaking moments of a girl trying so desperately to help her sister. We know that Austin is the real deal and is the man for Zoey. But will she let down her walls long enough to see that she can trust someone to be there for her?
With him, I am home.

"Zoey girl"
Two words and i'm swooning, KC Lynn you always have my heart a flutter. So many emotions i go through while reading your stories.
Ultimate Sacrifice is a sweet and sexy romance. With heartbreaking moments, but with so much love all round your heart will fill right up again on love and strength.
Zoey is hardworking, dedicated, loving and incredibly compassionate. She works hard so her sister, who's her number one priority. Has the best of everything to make her life as comfortable as possible.
Making life sacrifices is unquestionable she will always put her sister first.
Austin is a firefighter, he's driven, dedicated, and determined both in his professional and personal lives. He's incredibly sweet and loving, he's drawn to Zoey because he see's the same in her. He just needs her to see how good they are together and that he wants to support her not take her time away from Chrissy. His interactions not only with Zoey, but her sister Chrissy will melt your heart, and leave you swooning.
I loved that alongside Zoey and Austin romance. There is a plot full of intrigue and mystery. As the firefighters at Austin's station endeavour to discover the identity of an arsonist who is intent on destruction. Not sure if this plot is carrying on over all three books but i'm glad its carrying over.
Wonderful start to this new series i can't wait to see where the arsonist plot goes. And to see what and who is in store for Cam and Jake.

KC Lynn, This woman is such a Phenomenal writer. I doubt she fully understands her power with words. I hope she knows the lives she touches with her Beautiful Stories.
Ultimate Sacrifice is a book that will give you so many feels. So much emotion but that is definitely the KC style.
This book is about characters we met in Sweet Haven. I already was Gaga for Austin in that book. I had wait so patiently for a book to see him again. And ladies this guy is what Dreams are made of, yet at the same time I relate cos I live with man that loves my family like his own.
Zoey, My Beautiful Zoey Girl. Her snippets really intrigued me when I first knew of her just as Sam's friend. Sam loved her and she wanted Zoey to have happiness. I'm so glad we got see how it unfolds.
Zoey and Austin are such selfless ppl, they are beautiful souls that you would Die to have these two in your corner. They are such kind and thoughtful people.
The fact that they find each other makes you believe in soul mates. They are perfect for each other. They Mesh so brilliantly well together. Their chemistry, their Love, Their Effection, Their Friendship, everything towards each other is Utterly Perfect. It's Pure and Smoldering Hot.
Ladies these two together will fucking heat your Kindle. You will definitely need a cold shower. The Intimacy, The four play, Just Hot. Off the Charts Hot.
This book will break your heart ladies. But watching them pick each other up. Watching them fight for themselves and each other will leave you in Awe, it's definitely worth all the years...
Now I await Cam's and Jake's book. The side characters in this book are Fantastically written and I just can't wait to see how hard these two Macho Men Fall.

While I enjoyed this book well enough, I felt it was far too underdeveloped to have any kind of lasting hold on me like K.C. Lynn’s other stories. It was rushed and any sort of drama/action that took place was pretty much resolved by it’s following chapter. I wasn’t given the chance to be absorbed by the story... and I could have. There was so much potential just waiting to be expanded on and developed, but we unfortunately didn’t get much with this first installment.
But, there was certainly good elements as well. Like I said, I still enjoyed it; I don’t think I’ll ever dislike anything from this author. Our hero, Austin was a refreshing change of pace. Most of KC’s leading men, while great characters in their own right, are typically plagued with self-doubt and self-loathing as it pertains to the women in their lives. So I appreciated the way Austin was fearless with his heart. He went for it and never really second guessed his feelings.
All in all, good but not great. Although this story wasn’t quite there for me, based off this author’s previous work, I have no doubt she has what it takes to bring our MoC to the next level... and I’m looking forward to reading it :)

YES!! K.C. Lynn does it again! I love this author. It was emotional and steamy. I felt like I was watching Chicago Fire. Loved all of it. My only issue was it’s left with a sorta cliffhanger that I’m assuming will continue on throughout the series. I can’t wait to see what else this series has to offer. And also can I just mention that is cover is ON FIRE 🔥 🔥

I got the book at 930 last night and read all of it during the night. I was highly anticipating this story and trust it was way beyond my already high expectations. This 6 star story made me fall in love with the characters and made me feel so many different emotions.
Zoey and Austin have been running circles around each other for a while. It was never the right time for them. She has a lot to deal with right now. They get one night and Austin wants more. Can they make it work?
I don’t want to be bias of KC, but she is a damn good author. I have loved everything she as ever written. But a firefighter’s story is way up my alley. What I loved about this story? It had so many facets to it. It’s highly romantic and swoony, suspenseful and strong bonds between family and friends. It’s not only about the couple and their romance, it’s about sticking and coming together in a time of need. Strong family values, even if they are not all blood related. She focuses on that.
Beautifully written story that made me feel so many emotions. It was to the point without any unnecessary details that sometimes tend to drag stories on. If I manage to shed one tear while reading a story then it deserves all the stars in the sky. This story can be heartbreaking at times but I was left with a big smile on my face. Bottomline is this is a MUST read.
Standalone told in a dual POV with an HEA. I STRONGLY recommend this story. All of KC’s book are all worth the readers precious time and money.

I found this book on Kindle Unlimited and was totally hooked on the cover because...well, you have eyes. Yowza. Thankfully, the content of the book was a good as the cover.
Zoey has been taking care of his sister, Chrissy, who has cerebral palsy for many years, because her mother is an addict and an all around awful person. Because her whole life has been about work and Chrissy, Zoey doesn't allow herself a social life, until she agrees to a date with Austin Hawke, hotshot firefighter. Once Austin gets a taste of Zoey, he's not letting go. He even accepts that Chrissy is a huge part of her life, and welcomes Zoey into his heart.
There is a serial arsonist in town, starting incredibly lethal fires. This storyline was not wrapped up at the end of the book, despite hearing from the arsonist. I guess that storyline will continue in the next book, which I will absolutely will be reading.
Chrissy - a girl with cerebral palsy who was so wonderful. She loved Austin so much, and he felt the same way about her. The story between Austin and Chrissy was so sweet. I will openly admit this book made me tear up.
I loved this story - I didn't love that the arsonist story wasn't resolved, but I did love the fact that there wasn't a ton of relationship dram in this book. Both characters were awesome, and I'm really excited for the next two books in this series.

Wow I was not expecting all these emotions from this book. Austin the hot firefighter and Zoey the bar owner were off the charts. Zoey had a lot on her plate and no time for a relationship. Austin just wanted a chance. These two have always had feelings for each other but she always claimed she had no time. But then one night happened and Austin knew he needed more than one night.
These two had their ups and downs but Austin never gave up and Zoey caved and gave him a chance. He was there for her in everything which made him much more hotter. The emotions were real and very sad but Zoey pulled thru with the help of Austin and her best friend Sam, who happens to be Sawyer’s sister, ❤️.
There’s an unsolved issue that I’m sure it’s going to run into Book two and I can’t wait to read it. This book doesn’t end in a cliffhanger but the issue seems like it will be resolved in the final book of the other two that are coming up. Great read.

A new series from K.C. Lynn and what a way to start t off. Ultimate Sacrifice is an incredibly emotional read which centres around firefighters.
In Book 1 we meet Austin and Zoey. Zoey’s life centred around her sister and taking care of her needs she has little time for anything else. She allows herself one date with Austin because she won’t allow herself for more.
Austin however has other ideas and inserts himself into her life. These two are full of passion and these two have definite sparks that they can’t ignore. Of course feelings run deep in this and as the story continues it’s heartbreaking and will definitely pull at your heartstrings. This story is sweet and sad all at the same time and not only that it’s suspenseful as you will find out at the very beginning of this book.

3.75 scorching stars. Firefighter goodness😛🔥❤️‼️The Ultimate Sacrifice is the first book in this series and it is sweet and sexy. Though predictable and a little rushed in the ending, this story is fast pace that has everything; love, romance, loss, suspense, mystery, drama, and yes in my opinion a little cliffy😳. Looking forward to read the other hot firefighters in this series and the question of day, who setting all those fires!?!

Can’t wait for the next!
I enjoyed this book. It was heartbreaking but beautiful. I can’t wait for the next ones. I loved how the H was all for the h, there were no games played. He stayed by her 100% even through all of her heartache.

This is a "it's not you, it's me" thing.
Long story short: It had all the makings for something good: solid MCs, steamy AF, tugged at your heartstrings, lots happening in the plot. Really, everything was there. But the author took that, and did some things that just are not my reading cup of tea.
So two things. I know this book exists in a universe of this author's author books. I haven't read many of those. But this just drops you right in the romance of Austin and Zoey. It's kind of like you should already know the background of these two and why they like each other. So either they were introduced prior, or there really was no background. Either way, I missed that romance/falling in love/why they like each other bit.
Also. There's a mystery/suspense element. And although Zoey and Austin get their happy ending (no proper epilogue), the overaching plot/mystery is still a cliffhanger. That's just not my style. I like resolution on these kinds of things.
Will I read on? Probably.
