A fun, light-hearted story about a dog and his friends, told in a rhyming, tongue-twisting manner especially for early readers. Illustrated in a simple style with a retro touch, on brown paper.
Been an artist all my life, professionally since about 1986, and have written poetry and short stories as a hobby along the way. Now I write and illustrate children's books of my own.
Wuff is a simple dog who likes to play with his owner, Duff, and wrestle with the cat, Puff. This is a sweet and comical rhyming book with clever illustrations by the talented author/artist Mark C. Collins. He has created another fun book for children that will keep them chuckling as they turn the pages.
This is a perfect book for young children and early readers. It will become a favorite of children as a bedtime or any time story.
A play on rhyming words – and animal/people relationships!
Mark C. Collins is the author AND illustrator of this fine new children's book. Drawing since the age of 2, Mark went to art school and spent years as a graphic designer before changing to illustration. In children's books he can combine all his talents - writing, design, and illustration - and the result is a highly satisfying (for Mark) and highly successful (for us) jewel of a children's book. This book, like another of his books BEN'S DAY, is offered in fun rhyming fashion - just another reason why kids will love reading it.
We meet the dog Wuff and his stuff and his buff owner Duff (along with the tools that help Duff be buff) and how they play ruff. Then we meet Puff, the cat, who also belongs to Duff, along with her stuff. Puff naps on Wuff until he lifts her by her scruff and in playing we discover Wuff is not so tough. Wuff, Puff and Duff live on a bluff next door to Mr. Huff who is gruff and hates the noise Wuff makes. Duff makes amends, giving Mr. Huff earmuffs so the noise of the extended play among Duff, Wuff and Puff don’t bother him. And in the end, with everyone retrieving their stuff, they all sleep
At book's end Mark shares a list of all the rhyming words – with definitions. As always, Mark C. Collins proves he is on top of the heap in children's books with a clever slant on humor.
